1. I'm really sorry to litter this thread with my questions/comments, but one thing in this event already bugs me. Frankly, I'm irked by the posting order/post limit-system. I know it's a wee bit early to complain, but I find it extremely restrictive. Here I am, boiling from frustration because the event has started, but I cannot post in it yet! In fact, at the moment I'm writing this, nobody has posted in any of the threads, even though they have been up the whole day! I have a bad feeling that by having to write in a specified turn, and having only two posts per mission, will ultimately take all the fun out of the event. With such restricted chances of posting, I don't believe there is much chance to character interaction, and I fear that the story won't flow the way it should, rather it'll just jolt and jerk slowly forwards. I understand why you, Shy, put the limitations to posting - to make it equal for everybody - but story-wise and entertainment-wise, I really don't think it's the way to go. Let's face it, "hero" died because it had little to no interaction between the players, and the storyline was left very vague to us players. Sigh, I don't want to bash this event or anything, I still believe this has great potentials, but I'm just concerned and frustrated that it won't get into a good start! But time will tell... Ultimately I'm just annoyed that the first time I'll get to post might be next weekend... I know this fact could be changed by PM'ing the team leader, which I already did, but in my sign-up I said I can post daily and now I find out that I can't really. :/ Please respond with your thoughts about this comment, Shy.
 2.
Yes, 3 people are a pattern that can be accepted as absolute truth.
Sigh... Didn't I start the sentence by saying "I'm not saying it can't be true"? So please don't twist my words, okay? It makes me suspicious, that's all I'm saying! I'm really not in the mood for debating on such a serious matter. Lately I've participated in too many debates in this forum where the other side just manipulates, exaggerates and twists words, so I learned my lesson, alright?
 3.
And I don't agree with the western countries leniency on rapists and pedophiles.
Aww come on, you can't really think that governments everywhere should kill all the people who commit crimes! At least here in Europe we are way past the imo medieval death punishment. People need to have second chances!
Ok since this happened in a theocracy it can't be true. Good arguement.
I'm not saying it can't be true, but if you read the link I provided just two posts ago, you can see that again two men are sentenced to death for homosexual intercourse and rape. Can you see a pattern here?
 4.
I'm not saying they definately did it, but if it happens to be true they don't really deserve anything but death.
There are tens of thousands, maybe more, of rapists and pedophiles in the western countries, yet none of them get executed for their crimes. I'm saying that one shouldn't be naïve here. Remember that the teens were tortured, so of course they will admit anything to make it stop. And wouldn't it be just a little too convenient for the religious government to make all homosexuals look like rapists and pedophiles?
 5. Another gay man has been executed in Iran. Also, most European countries have halted the process of sending back gay refugees to the countries where homosexuality is punished by death because of the executions that occured a month ago. Here is the whole news: http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/08/082205ukIran.htm I'm still shocked that this issue hasn't been on the media previously.
 6. Well, my summer has been an exceptional one, and despite the fact that I didn't have a summerjob and thus had to loan money from my granny in order to make a living, I still consider it to be the best summer I have had so far. All thanks to this goes to my first (and hopefully only) boyfriend that I hooked up with in May. We have spend absolutely fantastic three months together, and we are both quite sure this will continue to the day we die. I feel so happy that I have found my true love already at the age of 21, as I feared it would never happen. We are both young and have our whole lives ahead of us, and there is no one I'd rather spend it with than my precious, loving boyfriend. The summer is truly almost over, but this sensation of love won't fade away with it.
 7. Another question: I meant to add my character, Melinoë, another superpower besides the aura of fear to the sign-up, but I... forgot. *blushes* The second superpower would be inherited from her mother, Nemesis as well, and it would be that Melinoë could sense in which direction the person she is after is. The "weakness" of this power would be that she would have to see this person at least once in order to track him or her down. I'd like her to have this ability because she is the daughter of the demon of vengeance and an avenger herself, so she should at least have a clue where the person she is after is located. So, is it okay that I add that power to her? EDIT: Oh, and yet another question: What if somebody doesn't post in many days? Even though its his/her turn? Should those who are willing to post rearrange the order and skip that person? How long should they wait for that one person? Okay, that's a lot of questions, but they're all tied together. Speaking from the experience of past RPGs, not everybody who signed up for this event and you, Shy, chose as players, are going to write even one post. Of course I hope they will, but it just isn't going to happen. We should have a solution to this problem before it occurs.
 8. I can't believe this actually started! I'm so hyped right now! :D Seems that I'm in the Gold Team, so from now on, Gold Team rules! ;D Okay, because I'm not intending to spam this thread, I have a question: There are many players in the list that aren't in the teams, why is that? You said yourself that everybody gets to participate in the first missions, but apparently it isn't so... I just hope that they get a chance to at least post before they are killed off. ;) Uh, the fact that you are most likely killed off in this event really makes this more tense and exciting! I'm glad to be in this project. ;) Hmm, so Aiyisha is my team leader, so he will create the mission thread, yes? Can't wait to get into the story!
 9. Finally you made a post without emphasizing your own ego and your own rightfullness. I'm proud of you, Otaku America. ;) But you still have to understand that not everybody are as devouted to religion as you are, and most of the population in this planet do not share your views. So you cannot claim that you're absolutely right, you can only say you believe you are right. Either way, religion is a private thing, and one can only follow it if one chooses to. So hitting with a holy book or jamming morality down people's throat isn't right - it even doesn't have the desired effect but the contrary! If I want to "sin", continue my homosexual relationship and sexlife, isn't it my business and mine alone? What has it got to do with you? If you believe that your god will judge/punish me, then let him do it! (And for your interest, so far I only feel blessed with love, and not punished ih any way. I live a very happy life right now.) It's the same thing with the topic at hand: the muslims believe that they must act as their gods intrument of punishment and judgment, following the laws of sharia. So to them, god punishes eg. the two teen boys by making the society execute them. I know that modern Christianity, that is based on the New Testament, isn't like that. So called "christian" countries don't execute homosexuals or cheaters even though the bible tells to do so. We live in a new, civilized world where slaughtering people for their private actions is considered barbarism. There's no going back to the times of 2000 years ago. Things change - to my belief for the better-, and muslims need to see that too.
 10.
So there you go. An artist frustrated with Attention Deficit Disorder.
ADD? Aren't well nowadays... ;P There's just too many things going on around us, so we find it hard to concentrate on anything. Imagine a painter or a poet of the old days: all they had around them was the sounds of the nature, and they could easily enter their own inner world of imagination. It was easy for me when I was a kid, too, but now... I've got all these influences - tv, music, videogames, commercials, books, comics - pouring into me everywhere, and they suffocate my own imagination! If only those influences weren't so dang appealing! ;P
 11. I have to admit that I can draw fairly well, and write fairly well, but my problem is that I just can't get most of my work finished! In drawings, I usually rush at the end, and manage to ruin the whole work. In writing, I create all these great characters and a good setting, and somethimes write a few pages or fifty, but then my interest ceases as I get a new, "better" idea and begin to work with that. And then there are those times - that are becoming more and more frequent nowadays - when my creativity is at zero. I can't be bothered to do anything at those times, so I just surf the net. :P
 12.
I know that the items are basically just sentimental vaule and have no monetary vaule- but for the love of all things sacred don't go stealing from the dead.
Because today's nations are rapidly pushing apart from the church, many people don't believe that dead people are something to respect. They just see them as corpses, shells of what they used to be. Thus they think "stealing" from the graves is impossible, for how can a corpse own anything. Those thieves just took what was left lying unguarded. I'm not saying that they didn't do anything wrong, I'm just trying to understand what those people were thinking. I don't believe in "worshipping the corpses" either, meaning visiting graveyards and bringing flowers to the grave. I'm not judging it either, I bet people get much consolense out of it. But to my reasoning people who are dead are gone, completely. So to me, spending money on flowers and stuff to bring to the grave would be that much money wasted. Again, I'm not saying I agree with the thieves, I'm trying to make a point that what they did wasn't that "unbelievable" or "horrendous" as some might think.
 13. I don't think it qute works that way, Zeekan. See, some people just lack the common sense of guilt and conscience. I think most of them don't even keep the things they steal from the graveyard, but sell it forward on the street market. To some people, matter is just matter, with a mental price-tag attached but no emotional value. Sad, really. :/
 14.
I'm not wrong as I'm about to prove it. The simple fact is, women were created for men. If men were created for men, then you'd have dinosaurs.
I'm sorry, but you proved nothing except your own close-mindness. Everything you said was based on the Bible, which you obviously hold as some sort of a Zealot's Guide to the Universe. You fail to realize that not everybody thinks it holds the ultimate truth, so in the end, you've proven nothing. But I gotta say that you crossed the line with that last statement, as every single female member in this board is going to eat you alive now. Did you hear that, girls? He said you only exist to please men! Go get'im! >;D
 15. Oh man... I'm sorry if my English isn't perfect, because I live in Finland, where the people do NOT speak English. You don't even realize that you're taking everything in the Bible for face value? "No, God created the world in six days because it says days, not millions of years!" was the clearest example. The fact that you don't believe in dinosaurs because they don't tell about them in the Bible is another blatant evidence. I'm sorry for calling you uneducated, but you're denying things that a third-grader knows to be true! But unfortunately you're too arrogant, pompous, and way too full of yourself for me to try to reason with you. Despite you being only one year younger than me, all I can say is "grow up!"
 16.
Careful! Otaku America was wrong and you pointed out why (in bold), but you turn around and commit yourself to the same problem (underlined). Whatever you feel towards your boyfriend, you cannot legitimately argue that it's the same thing as what heterosexuals call love simply because you yourself aren't one.
Tell me you're not implying that homosexual love is any different from heterosexual! That would be the same as saying that homosexuals aren't human like heterosexuals. Surely the emotions we feel - love, hate, sorrow, joy - are the same despite what sexual orientation we have! We are all humans, you know. The only way I would sink to OA:s level on this issue would be to claim that there is no real love between a woman and a man, just lust and purpose to breed children. Isn't that what some of the ancient Greek philosophers said? Sex is between a man and a woman, love is between a man and a man. Personally, I believe they were wrong, but not any more wrong than Otaku America.
 17.
It's good to know that during the 1700s the human race had the ability to manufacture giant skeletons with fake carbon dating. I mean, wow, we can't even do that now. Our ancestors farkin' rawked.[/SIZE']
Actually, from what I understood, Otaku America meant that the bones were manufactured just recently, and all those hunder-year-old photos and reports and all the excavation sites around the world are fake, part of a large conspiracy against the good, God-fearing people. He really thinks he is some kind of prophet who has inside knowledge on his God's work, so who are we sinful lowlifes to disagree with him? I say we all bow to our new prophet and guide to light, Otaku America!
 18.
.:EDIT:. Sage, please don't let your frustration get the better of you and degenerate into name-calling. I know science vs. religion debates can get extremely firey, so let's try and buck the trend by keeping this one civil.
I'm sorry, Rai, but honestly I'm not even calling him names! I really think he really is stupid. As in retarded or something, I honestly don't know! I now it's not polite to call someone stupid, but I can't help it if he is! He bases this crazy conspiracy to nothing even remotely reasonable or sane. Added to that, he really believes he is right about it, which makes him even more ignorant and self-centered. But you're right that I'm frustrated, and I try to hold my tongue in the future... :/
 19.
Sorry, you DON'T possess the knowledge to know that paleontoglogists have dug up bones for two centuries. You clearly didn't read my posts. Unexplained arguments? I fail to see where I didnt' explained. In the 1800's we where at war, not digging up some imagined bones which all have the same exact structure across the world.
And YOU do?! I'm sorry, but every single one of your so called arguments are either based on the Bible or sheer ignorance! I don't believe the Bible is anything more than a historical document, so there's no use trying to pound my head with it. I see clearly that you're too young to understand that life isn't all black-and-white, but your attitude still saddens me. You truly are stupid, in the most basic meaning of the word. There is something called school, did you not go there? They should teach you these very simple and understandable things that are proven by people far smarter than you and me. Of course I'm not saying you should take everything for granted, but you fail to see that you ARE in fact taking everything IN THE BIBLE for granted. For that, you are a fool. Oh, and the 1800's are a full century, there wasn't one big continuing war that every single human on the Earth participated going on! They had plenty of time to dig up bones, trust me. This is one of the things they teach you in the school. You really should try it, you really should!
 20. Another piece of art for Melinoë is ready! See the attachment. I actually prefer this much over the previous two, since I put some obvious symbolism into this one, adding the Yin-Yang sphere and the fiery whip dividing the two sides. The quality isn't the best possible, since I don't own any decent picture editing programs, but I hope you still like it. Again, I did it with simple pencil/pen/coloring pencils -technique. It's really the only technique I know, since I'm a poor student who hasn't got the money to take expensive art classes... :'( On the other hand, I'm not too interested in them anyway. ;P I just like to draw.
 21. I have to say you lost me there, Rai... :/ I'm not a scientist, nor am I very smart in these matters, so I can't say you're wrong. But isn't the facts that human race is growing taller and living longer and inventing new things a change anyhow? If we were originally created to the form we are now, wouldn't it "condemn" us to remain the same? Sure you can say that we've inherited the features of our parents, but how come short people have given birth to taller people then? Evolution or not, I believe it proves the straightforward, out-of-the-book creation theory wrong. But hey, that's just me. ;D Oh, I don't think this thread was originally meant for a debate over evolution, so I'm sorry if somebody's disturbed by this.
 22. Otaku America, do realize that you're actually saying it is wrong to believe in something you see, like dinosaur bones, while it is right to believe in something you don't, like God. I don't think this is a debate of religion vs. atheism, to me it's ignorance vs. reason! OA, thousands and thousands of paleontologists and other researchers have dug up dinosaur bones for two centuries now and dedicated their whole lives to know more about the lifeforms that inhabited the Earth before us, and you're ridiculing and diminishing them with a few unexplained arguments?! You are certainly commiting one of the deadly sins: pride. You honestly think you're above everybody and everything else? As I said in the other thread, get over yourself! And don't say you're only repeating the words of your God, because you said them, not anybody else. Take responsibility for your own words.
 23.
So, in all Homosexuality shouldn't even exist. How can a man spend time without another man without always holding each other? Man w/ man is nothing but sin. You can't share anything between a man if you yourself are a man. Love & passion don't exist between two men, lust does. I still believe it was wrong for them to kill them because they could at least gave them a chance to convert and NO, I don't believe it's possible for a man to be born gay. If that were true, we'd all be gay.
Aren't you a biggoted one... 8/ Here's where your arguments fail: Homosexuality DOES exist, even if you think it shouldn't. There's nothing you can do about that, and if you think God created humans, then who created homosexuals? Satan? I thought he could only destroy, not create... You can't share anything between a man if you yourself are a man? I'm sorry but two men can share quite a lot. For example, don't you have male friends yourself? Don't you have anything in common with them? What about your father? And don't give me that "lust not love"-crap. What do YOU know about the issue?! Have you ever even seen a gay couple? For your information, there can be true love between two men - I myself have that with my boyfriend. I love him with passion, I care for him most in the world, I would break into bits if something happens to him, I miss him horribly when he is not with me, I want to hold him in my arms and caress him gently, I want to share my life with him... Isn't that love? And you don't believe people can be born gay because then we would all be gay? That doesn't even make any sense! Of course there is a majority of heterosexual people, but there are also sexual minorities, like homosexuals, transsexuals, asexuals, androgynes etc.! All those people are born with those trades, and you are certainly not in any place to deny that. Get over yourself and come back to earth where we normal people live.
 24.
That's purely a function of environmental changes & better nutrition, however. It has nothing to do with evolution. :animeswea ~Dagger~
I think I have to disagree with you on this one, because I thought this was the function of evolution. We evolve to fit better into our changing environment. Some of the changes are fast and happen in a few generations, others take a million years. I talked about evolution with my very religious schoolmate once, and he, opposing the evolution as a theory, began to explain something about mutation and how everything else but the mutated individuals die etc. I honestly didn't understand diddle! ;P I perceive these changes that we can sometimes see with our own eyes as the essence of evolution. From the dawn of time, lifeforms have evolved to meet the requirements of their new environments. Sure, that has required some serious mutation over the generations and naturally survival of the fittest, but it's not like Pokémon where things happen instantly, as if a wizard did it!
 25. Hi everybody, and welcome to the official thread to post and review the art inspired by the latest OtakuBoards event, the Legionnaires, invented by our very own Event Master Shy. On Shy's permission I'm creating this thread for all members to post their own pieces of artwork for the characters or illustrations from the event. I know the actual event hasn't really begun yet, but I personally have already two pieces I'd like to show you. * The first is a full-body shot of my character Melinoë wielding her whip, the Phlegethon, made in simple black-and-white technique * The second is a face portrait of the same character, in full color. Sketched with a pencil, inked with a black pen and colored with color pencils. Simple but effective. As I mentioned, this thread is also meant for reviewing the artwork sent here, and you can even slide in requests for pictures and illustrations, if you post something else as well. I hope this thread will increase the hype around the event, and perhaps make it even more popular. ;)
