1.
Originally posted by Utena_Tenjou I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DECIDED TO MAKE A SEQUEL TO A FINAL FANTASY GAME, AND MAKE YUNA INTO A WHORE!
Oh please! What Amish are you?! If a girl wears sexy clothes, she's automatically a whore? Do you want a definition of a whore? Whore - or a prostitute - is a person who sells sexual services to whoever is willing to pay her/him. In FFX-2, Yuna travels around the world collecting spheres and searching for her loved one. Do you think whores do that sort of things? I thought so... :smirk: PS. (lesson 1) Don't say that you were only saying your opinion, because even opinions need some back-up. ;) PPS. (lesson 2) Play the game before you judge! PPPS. (lesson 3) DON'T USE CAPS IT'S ANNOYING!
2. Hey, am I a minority as I'm a Finn? :toothy: Heh, I guess I am, since there's only five million Finns (there are many, many, many more afro-americans than us)... You can just imagine what the minorities here in Finland are like (immigrants form like 1% of our population...) ;)
3. Back at Figaro Castle: Cid: "Mmm, you were fast... I like that in a competitor! Now, let's check everybody's saldo: Cecil - 3, Auron - 4, Zidane - 0, Zell - 0, Rinoa -5. So, it seems that this competition will have it's first female captain at this point. Congratulations, Rinoa, you are the winner! This means you cannot be voted out in the next challenge, but you also have the responsibilities of the captain of Redwings. You understand?" Rinoa: "Yes, Cid. But this is exiting nevertheless!!!" Cid: "Yes, I'm sure. But for the rest of you - Cecil, Auron, Zidane and Zell -, one of you four will have to leave the game in this world. Who it will be, it is up to you to decide. Survivors, it's time to vote!" ******** offgame: You know the deal; PM me your answer to who will be fifth last to go (remember, Mei won the immunity, so she cannot be evicted). The finals are approaching... :D BTW, there's a hilarious picture in this page of FF6's Cid: http://www.ffinsider.net/ff6/chara.php
4. Sorry, aYokano, but I think that we who played in the previous game have some sort of advance to those who didn't - especially if the person (read: me) started the previous game. ;) Sorry...
5. offgame: Sorry, I was in bit of a hurry when I wrote my previous post. But now I want to clarify few things: Ginny asked if she was going too fast, and my response is: not at all! There's no limit to how many of the espers in the list you get, just make sure you get only one per post. You don't have to play so fairly in this challenge; if someone gets no espers, it's his/her loss! ;) You can also get the pictures (and some extra info) from eg. these pages: http://con.opgaming.com/ff6/espers.php, http://www.ffonline.com/ff6/. Hmm, was that all I wanted to say...? Okay, I'll be back tomorrow to announce the winner! :D
6. And Haku is back! :D (With no viruses possessing him this time ;) ) Master of Machine Digimons name: Haku gender: male age: 14 appereance: a sickly boy suffering from genetic mutation, albinism. This makes his skin pale, hair pure with (with a few silvery lines) and eyes red. His body is slim and small, with weak bones. He wears a simple black&white shirt and grey trousers. bio: Haku has always been suffering from various ilnesses, thus living a half-life inside his parents' mansion. He comes from a wealthy family, so he has always gotten everything he wants - except a normal life. Haku spends most of his days in front of the computer playing games, chatting with strangers, pretending to be normal and healthy. But when he gets an anonymous e-mail his life is completely changed. He finds himself in a completely new dimension, the Digital World. Here Haku is allmighty, and this messes his head big time... update: Spending time in the Digital World has given Haku strenght, and he isn't as sickly as before. He has also let go his hatred towards his negligent parents. In the battle against the Trinity Digimons possessed by the M.A.G.E. virus he lost two of his partners - Platine the Solarmon and Steel the Hagurumon - and that left a deep scar to his heart. But he took his third partner - Chip the Choromon - with him when he returned to the World of Matter. Haku has also been in contact with the other masters via e-mail. One day, however, he gets a different type of e-mail, which pleads him to return to the Digital World to face a new threat rising. He decides to go for it, hoping that he would meet all his friends there...
7. offgame: Sorry sorry sorry... I REALLY meant to post the next challenge yesterday, but for some strange reason I couldn't get IN!!! It was really spooky... :nervous: But now I'm here and we can continue! :D Oh, Ginny, you asked about the personal colors? Hasn't it been everybodys own issue during the whole game if they want to change it? Well, I'm not using them anyways, so you can do whatever you want with your color. ;) And now, finally... ******** ongame: When Zidane was finally caught and helped out of the M-Tek suit, the five Redwings settled to King Edgar's council room to hear the next challenge. Cid: "Hello again, people! I just want to say that the game is getting faster from this point, so we won't spent a lot of time in this world. As you compete as individuals from now on, the rules have changed a bit too. From this contest on, the person who wins will become the new captain of the Redwings, gaining immunity at the same. So s/he cannot be voted out in the next council. Is this clear? Excellent! Now, to the challenge: it is called Espers - gotta catch'em all! Here is what you have to do: each of you will leave here ALONE to search for the magicites (summon-monsters (espers) sealed inside of gems) scattered around this world. This challenge requires speed, good orienteering skill and luck, as there is only one of each esper. If someone else has caught the magicite you were searching for before you, you will have to go to another place. The winner is the one who has collected most magicites after a certain amount of time has passed. Here's the espers and their locations: *Alexander - in Doma Castle throneroom, beat monster WrexSoul *Bahamut - beat monster DoomGaze in a random place in the sky (use the Golden Chocobo or airship) *Fenrir - in Mobliz, beat monster Phunbaba *Golem - buy from Jidoor Auction *Odin - in Ancient Castle, use a secret tunnel from Figaro Castle *Palidor - in Solitary Island beach (rent a boat or use Golden Chocobo or airship) *Phoenix - in Phoenix Cave *Ragnarok - from a senile old man in Narshe *Seraphim - buy from a thief in Tzen for a random price *Starlet - in Jidoor Rich Man's house, beat monster Chadarnook *Terrato - in the cave of a yeti in Narshe, from a stone carving *Tritoch - in a cliff in Narshe, beat monster Tritoch *ZoneSeek - buy from Jidoor Auction Understood? Survivors ready? GO!!!" ******* offgame: Actually that wasn't all: there are some rules involved that don't fit in the game-world: 1) You can only catch one esper per post! 2) You have time until Thursday to collect the espers. 3) Watch each others posts: all the espers are unique! 4) I know there are more espers in the game than I listed, but please go only after these I've listed - the others are unavailable! (meaning Shiva, Ifrit, Ramuh, Maduin etc.) Are the rules clear? Well, you can start now. :)
8. OR you could copy&paste it straight to this very thread. No matter how long it is, it will fit, since the new post lenght-limit is so high. I fyou do that, I can review it more properly. :) (And about the shortness, I knew you didn't write the whole story here; I meant that it lacks events - though you might have just left most of it out in your first post... )
9. That's probably because James isn't responsible for TheOtaku - just this forum. ;) You should contact Adam (read the site more carefully to know how to do that).
10. offgame: Coolies! :D But firstly I want to say that I'm sorry, Desbreko, but we won't visit the world of FF4 (just because I know next to nothing about it). I planned that we would visit all he worlds where the characters are from, but... :( Well, read on to find out the next location. ****** ongame: At the beginning of the fantastic game of surviving there where twelve of them. Now seven of them have left the game. Tidus and Squall dropped out immediately, and few days later they were followed by Rikku. After that it was Freya's turn to go. Then another double-eviction occurred, as both Zack and Cloud were evicted. Last to fall out was Sephiroth. Now five contestants continue the game - Auron, Cecil, Rinoa, Zell and Zidane. The two teams that were formed in the beginning of the game - Avalanche and Tantalus - are now merged to one - Redwings. For his first time Cecil has taken the lead as the captain, but from now on all five survivors will compete as individuals - against each others. Three more will go when the game speeds from a world to another. At the last world a grand voting is set between the two remaining survivors, as only one can become The Final Fantastic Survivor. The fresh team of Redwings gathered to Ragnarok, their transportation-vehicle for the duration of the game. Zell: "Welcome to our place!" Zidane: "Neat!!! Look at all those dynamic curves... Were you the model for this, Rinoa?" Rinoa: "Nice try, tail-wagger." Auron: "Well, apparently we will have to wait for Cid to appear again..." Cecil: "Not for long: there he comes!" Cid: "So, team Redwings! The five of you have made it this far, so congratulations for that. All of you will surely gain lots of respect in your home-worlds. But speaking of worlds, it is time to change the scenery again. There is three more worlds to go, so we better cast haste on us. From now on I will no longer have my own airship, but I will travel with you. So, take your seats, everybody, as we are off!" The crown-headed old man took the pilot's seat, and the five contestants sat on the row of benches behind it. The gates of Lindblum opened, and the red lightning took off. A huge vortex opened to the clear-blue sky, and Cid guided the ship straight into it. A flash of light blinded everybody temporarily. ~~~~~~~~ As they gained their sight back, they saw a ruined world from the window in front of them. Rinoa: "Yeww... What is this place?" Voice: "This is the World of Ruination (FF6). A powerful magic knight called Kefka destroyed it, with the aid of a powerful Emperor, but now it is in the process of healing. Many monsters still live here, though, and the population is extra-cautions." All five contestants looked at the pilot seat. The noble regent had changed into a small, plumpy, funny looking man wearing yellow overall. Man: "Yes, this is me: Cid. In this world I'm a top one engineer. I used to work for the Empire, but when I heard the truth about their doings, I left them. But that is a long story. I'll take this ship to Figaro Castle, ruled by my friend King Edgar. You can rest there, or go on a little tour with the ship. I will summon you when it is time for your first challenge against each other. Now, the castle isn't far from here..." ********** offgame: I'm sure that some of you don't know the world of FF6, but if you have problems, just ask me or other players, okay? :) The map is again included.
11. But wouldn't a character from Parasite Eve fall more on the "evil side"? Well, it's up to Shy to decide...
12. offgame: Worry not, my loyal Ginny, the results are now clear. :toothy: ******** ongame: Regent Cid walked in front of the six contestants. Cid: "So, another stage in this game starts. After this, there will be only five of you left in this competition, and you will then compete against each other as individuals. But you will still remain as one team during the rest of the game. You have selected one among you to guide the new team to it's start. That person will have to choose the name, color and the airship to the new team. And that someone is almost unanimously... Cecil. Do you understand your responsibility now, Cecil?" Cecil: "I do, Cid." Cid: "Excellent! Now, one of you other five will leave now, and that someone is you... Sephiroth." Sephiroth: "What?! Really...? But... I thought... you were my... friends! Well, I'll see you all... in your worst nightmares!!!" Sephiroth leaves the room escorted by a thunder. Zell: "Creepy... Lucky we got rid of that guy!" Sephiroth *from behind the door*: "I can still hear you, blondie!" Zell: "Whoopsie..." Cid: "Well, Cecil, Rinoa, Auron, Zidane and Zell, you will now form a merged team, with a new name and color. But before we can move onto our next destination, you will need a new base. Follow me to the airship docks." At the docks: Cid: "Well, time for decisions, captain Cecil. You can choose the airship to your team from the following: *Ragnarok, the dynamic red lightining *Hilde Garde IV, the highly enhanced fortress-on-air *Cargo Ship, the crappy no-use flying row-boat *Prima Vista, the exclusively roomy and fancy-looking theater-ship or *Highwind, the silver-lined speeder. Which one shall it be?" ******* offgame: I'll reveal the next destination once Des makes up his mind. Domon, you are now entitled for a last farewell-post.
13. So we are talking about the REAL classics here, right? Like those of Nintendo 8bit and Sega? Niiicee.... :toothy: Character name: Kirby (the cute pink balloon-critter from Kirby's Adventure, Nintendo) Reason for choosing character: Well, I really loved the Kirby-game when I was younger, I played it through several times. Now that I think of it, the gameplay was something very original -far from a normal level-jumping game. Plus, Kirby is way cute. :smooch: I'll try to dig up a pic of him... My Knowledge of this character: Kirby has the unique ability to swallow the enemies, thus gaining their powers/weapons and use them against the other enemies. He can also spit the eaten enemies against the other enemies, and fill himself with air to float through an entire level without once touching the ground. :D He lives in a colourful land filled with candy-bars, airballoons and magic castles, and his archvillain is a nasty duck-wizard (whose name I don't remember). Well, that was all the most important ones...

Grammar

I think it's the WWW that is doing it to them (=the people who don't use punctuation or real words :p ). Most of the forums in other sites are like chatrooms - people go there, scribble something, and soembody answers them with a similar kind of scribble. When these people come HERE, they think "Oh what the heck, this is one of those forums, I'm not in an English lesson". So basically, I think they use that sort of writing because they think they HAVE to, like they aren't COOL in other ways, or something. Teenagers are like that - they want to belong. But, like James said, soon many of them notice that it's the opposite way that gives you respect in this forum. :) I think in some other forums they would definately think us as some kind of geeks (or English teachers ;) ), if we would go there and write in the manner we do. I don't think there has to be anymore "inforcements" on using grammar - people will get used to it when they see that everybody else is writing that way. It's the same with dialects: if you spent few weeks in another place, you will come back speaking their style.
15. Actually, you don't need a permission for starting a thread like this - it's unofficial. ANYBODY can start a thread like this. But there's a big difference on official events and unofficial events. The biggest difference is that unofficial events rarely work out. Either the host or the players get tired of that - and since it's unofficial, no-one will have any difficulties just to leave the game. Official games are much better organized, they aren't just spawns of a moment. Thus they are more succesful. I'm not saying that an unofficial event doesn't work - I'm running my second unofficial Survivor-contest! - but if you start by saying "I just thought it would be cool to have a game like this", it's not a good sign. Unofficial events aren't any more than regular RPG's - some of them work, most of them don't. As for THIS game I want to say something to Shinji: if REALLY, REALLY, REALLY think you can do this, pull it to the end, inspire the players to continue, not get bored yourself, THEN by all means, do continue. But I'm saying, IT WILL NOT BE EASY. If you think you can just start this game and let the players pull it through, you're WRONG. You have to be prepared to give the time the game needs. You have to be serious about this. Otherwise, this will probably end before it really starts. As an example I give you the notorious Unofficial Survivor 2, hosted by Bent Metal. After the first Unofficial Survivor came to an end, he PM'd me that he'd like to make a second one. Unfortunately he probably ran out of ideas or interest, and left the game and the players, so that there really WAS no Survivor 2. Well, I hope you take my word on this. CONSIDER CAREFULLY!
16. Phooey, Zeh, no I don't. :p There's no hurry, and I'm here almost every day, so I can post a question if my guess is right. The rule goes that "if you KNOW that you are answering correctly, THEN you must post a question". My answer was just a wild guess. ;) Please, people, don't take this so seriously; it's just a game! :toothy:
17. offgame: Heh, you sure know how to remind people, Gin. ;) I still need Domon's an Zidargh's votes. The evicted one is clear now, but the captain is still unsure. I will get back to you when there has been a conclusion.
18. The albine man stood up, and offered me his hand to shake. White man: "My name is Xeed Alba, nice to meet you." Me: "I'm Torean Trifle, and this is my partner Aiko." Gojo: "Whahaa, Mr. Alba here is the wealthiest man in this damned rat-hole! Let's just say he's my own secret sponsor." The Prime Council winked his eye in a disturbing way. Gojo: "And, if I understood correctly, so will be you, Mr. Trifle." Me: "Mmm... Yes." Xeed: "Now, my friend Gojo here tells me that you're interested in the mithril mines of Crescent Mountains?" Me: "That is correct. I see a worthy object of investment in them." Xeed: "Hmm... Well, let us all sit down and ponder on this matter." ~~~~~~~ An hour later I, Aiko and Xeed exited the Prime Councils office and entered the elevator. Xeed: "So, Mr. Trifle, you've shown remarkable greed in this matter." Me: "And...?" Xeed: "Well, let's just say it's a little peculiar for your kind." Me: "What do you mean?" Xeed: "Oh come on! We both know what is going on here, so why pretend? Now, just tell me, what are you up to?" Me: "No, what are you up to? I can see you're one of the Lost Ones, and you've come here to control this city. You know that it's forhibided!" Xeed: "Listen, Mr. Trifle, or whoever you are: nothing is forhibided for the Lost Ones!" Exactly then the elevator doors opened, and Xeed Alba dashed out. Aiko glanced at me. Aiko: "That man is trouble." Me: "Don't tell me..."
19. Can't remember exactly, but my guess is that you meet Stiltzkin... (counts: once in Alexandria, once in Burmecia, few other times somewhere else...) ... umm, FIVE times?
20. 40 my arse!!! Check out this site: http://www.ffonline.com/ff10/lulu.htm She was twenty-two!!! And since FFx-2 happens two years later, she's twenty-four in it! Paine's about the same age as Yuna, so there goes your theory... :p
21. REALLY funny, Logan... Don't you think that Lulu and Paine having about three years difference in age would be a bit of a problem? :smirk: Besides,
Lulu is having a baby-boy to Wakka during the game.
If you want more info, go to gamefaqs' Final Fantasy x-2 page. But despite all my search, I haven't been able to find new pics (of the different dresses and stuff)...
22. Zerocrisis: You have an interesting mind if you can actually WRITE with it... :p Vicky: I have to agree with Sara about the certain level of Frankenstein-ity - and that story has been written too many times before. :( Not very original... Well, it would make a good bed-time story for sophisticated children, though. ;) (Read: it's way too short.) My advice is that if you really put your heart into it, make it more "you" and less something already written, it could become quite decent story. :)
23. I've read the legacy of Shannara -series (don't know what the exact name is in English). It was decent, but do you really think that a fantasy book with such clichés as the Four Apocalyptic Riders is the best ever? :therock: Visser, you should consider reading more books... :smirk: Side note: If you want to see Four Riders at their best, I suggest you read Neil Gaiman's and Terry Pratchett's "Good Omens" - THAT's one of the best fantasy books ever! ;) (though one could debate if it's really fantasy or not - but let's not get into that.)
24. offgame: Okay, the challenge is now officially over. Oh my, this is going to be one tough choosing... I repeat that none of you should get upset if the results do not please you. This IS a game, and I'm the host/judge, so you just have to settle with my decision... :( Well... ************ ongame: Sephiroth and Zell finally reached the top of Iifa, where Prima Vista was waiting. The main door in the side of it opened, and Regent Cid stepped out. Cid: "Nice to see all of you have reached here safe and sound..." Zidane: "No thanks to you..." Cid: "I have observed the climb of all of you, and I must say that each of you have shown explicit talent in co-operating. But, as said, speed was the other factor in this challenge. As a reminder, one of the winning pair will be chosen as a captain, while one of the pair that came last will not make it to the individual competition - or to the last three worlds. Now, to my decisions. First, the winning team. They worked together in a touching way, minding little of the obstacles in the way. And they came first to the top of this three, though the second pair was just a moment behind them. Thus, I declare that the captain will be chosen between Cecil and Rinoa! The second team fought hard, but that costed them too much time, putting them in second place. I noticed you made acquintances of the inhabitants of this gargantuan tree, but unfortunately that didn't give you extra points. A pair that has secured their place in the final five: Auron and Zidane! So, Zell and Sephiroth, the other of you will leave after tonight. Now everybody, let's get inside and head back to Lindblum. There you can cast your votes on the captain of the merged team and the one who doesn't make it to the finals. Survivors, let us depart!" ********** offgame: Now, some of you might have noticed the missing of Zidargh in this challenge, making it seem unfair that Ginny came in second place all by herself. But the situation was that Zidargh is in a vacation, and couldn't post here during this challenge. Ginny was clever enough to inform me, and I agreed that she could do this challenge by herself. So no grudges, please! Now, to the voting: as said, you can choose the captain for the merged team ONLY from between Desbreko and Mei (so no voting for others, okay?). Likewise, you can evict either Braidless or Domon, nobody else. I remind you that the captain of the merged team will get to choose the name and the color of the team (preferably completely new ones). So, it is time to vote. After that, we will head to completely different world.

Enter the Matrix

offgame: Sorry, Yoda. :bluesweat I just thought that as this is a roleplaying-game, we might have something to say about the story as well... :smirk: Okay, don't take this seriously. Well, moving on... ****** She was sweating like a pig, she thought. The agent was really good, but she knew she had to be even better, if she wanted to survive. Monroe: "Touché - again!" Phoenix: "Well, you can just f*** your touchés! ARRH!" Monroe: "Now, now, Miss O'Brien! Didn't anybody tell you that calmness is key to winning?" Phoenix kept attacking, stinging, dodging and somersaulting as fast as she could. I must be out of my mind for trying to beat an agent! she thought. Well, at least the others are safe now... Just then a rain of bullets hit the agent, making her to leave the body. Doom and Kinetic jumped from the roof, followed by Pyro, Priest and Blade. Kinetic: "We thought you could use some help, girl." Phoenix: "Oh... Well, I was doing alright..." Doom: "Sure you were. But Frost has given us new orders. He has gone to the meeting by himself, and we should get our asses down to the Police Training Facility to save Clash." Phoenix: "Ha! That's so typical for Frost! He goes off to play with the hotshots and leaves us to do the dirty work!" Blade: "C'mon! At last we have some action! Those SWATs were no oppose to us!" Phoenix: "Well, you didn't just duel with the lovely Agent Monroe, did you?" Blade: "Bleh! Hey, GT, where's the nearest helicopter?"
