  1. Yes, something like that, but I remember the guy had text right under the other text, ah well...I'll figure it out sooner or later. I guess. Thanks though.
  2. Take out the url tags, you don't need them when posting an image. Just put the image tags around the link.
  3. I all ready know how to use the spoiler tags, but I want to know how I use one with writing on it. For example in someone's signature I seen them use a spoiler tag saying something about signatures being something or other, then when you highlighted it, it would say something else.
  4. I seen this around the board from time to time, and I want to use it myself but I don't know how to. What I am talking about is that spoiler like tag, but it has something written on it then when you highlight it, it will say something different. Sorry, I don't know a better way to explain it. But if someone could please tell me how to do this, I'd be thankful.
  5. Ugh...that show is going to be stupid. We're going to have to watch these insanely blind parents yelling about a better kid got picked over their child, because they believe their child is the absolute greatest thing since sliced bread. Sure, it's okay to think your child is great and all but not to the point where you're literally blinded by your link with the child that you think her/her could do no wrong, make no mistakes, etc. These are the type of parents who force their kid to get into the contest so they'll have a free ride, while claiming how much their child loves it. They're all the same. You can always tell who actually wants to be in something, and who doesn't so they're not fooling anyone. These parents are also the same kind of people who dress their ten years old daughters like prostitutes and have them stroll around on a walkway/stage to compete for some kind of modeling job. Anyway, I hate those type of parents... However, I will watch it [b]if[/b] Simon is a judge on the show. Oh, now that would funny--but, ofcourse, in a sad sorta way... Aw, hell I just wanna see Simon make some kids cry. I'm sorry, but I think that'll be so funny to watch. Hey, that's the only reason I ever watched American Idol. I never cared about the people trying to "live their dream," I watched to see Simon insult people. He's friggin' hilarious. ...um...I think I'm just going to stop here before people start to think I'm some sorta a'hole. lol.
  6. Thanks, for the responses. I have fixed it up again, and it looks much better. It's brighter than it was last time, and I also fixed the font so there will be no problem whatsoever reading it.
  7. Ugh...for some reason it's much darker on here than it is on my photoshop. Don't know why though. I'll see if I can fix it. [b]EDIT:[/b] I fixed it up a bit, and made it less squishy as Sara put it. I also made the text a bit brighter, and sharpened it a bit. Also I removed my sig, The Vampire: Ed, from it because it was too hard to see and it wasn't really need anyway.
  8. Well, I just made myself a new avatar, which you can see right under my name, obviously, so I figured perhaps it was time to make myself a new banner also, and so I have. So here it is. If you'd like, I wouldn't mind hearing some opinions on it as well. Thank you.
  9. Ah, a dragon. Now that's cool. It's turning out great. I too would like to see the finished version. Dragons kick ***.
  10. All right, as James has said in his edit post, it was meant to be a joke. It wasn't meant to bash the GameCube, and it certainly wasn't supposed to be any sort of Anti-Nintendo rhetoric. It was merely a joke, and a parody about how developers don't take the proper time to take advantage of the GameCube's capabilities when porting games to the system. A prime example of this is Splinter Cell, while I am sure it's still a great game, the loss of certain architecture and lighting is inexcusable. A lot of developers make blurry/muddy texture mapping in games like Medal of Honor when there is no doubt they could have done much better. What are your opinions of crapluster ports like these? Do you think they should take more time and include GBA connectivity features? So, yeah, sorry for the vague post. I was going to elaborate more later. And Emu--they were some personal insults. I can understand getting a bit angry at the implied message but you don't know me like that. It's only video games here. Calm down.
  11. Doom 3 appeared at E3 for the PC, obviously. But even more surprising it appeared for a console system as well, and even more surprising it was the Game Cube. Many people speculated the console version they announced to show off earlier in the day would most likely be an X-Box version, but everyone was sure to get a huge surprise seeing Doom 3 on the Game Cube first. Sadly, the fact that it was debuted on the Game Cube before it was for PS2, and the X-Box was a very small surprise in comparison to what the game looked like in it's current 40% complete state. [center][img]http://superdownloads.ubbi.com.br/imagens/materias/doom3_05t.jpg[/img][img]http://superdownloads.ubbi.com.br/imagens/materias/doom3_08t.jpg[/img][img]http://superdownloads.ubbi.com.br/imagens/materias/doom3_09t.jpg[/img] [b]DOOM 3 for PC[/b] [img]http://www.otakuboards.com/attachment.php?postid=399754[/img] [b]DOOM 3 for Game Cube[/b][/center] As you can see, the incredible visuals apparent in the PC version took a significant hit, but Id programmer, John Carmack, has promised that the core game play experience will remain in tact. The third screen shows an impressive number of enemies on screen at once, obviously to make up for the lack of polygons. John Carmack has also stated that it will feature a 16 player Deathmatch mode for Online gamers to compete against one another. Apparently, this is also a way to try and compete with Halo 2. But there's definitely room for improvement.
  12. I don't know what I could lend to this topic, but I'll try. As stated by others in this topic it is a parent's job, no, their moral responsibility to explain these things to their children. They should sit their child down and explain what is fiction, and what is reality. Children, especially at early ages, should be taught the differences between the two, and by not doing so it could possibly result in their children acting out these fantasies absorbed by watching television, playing video games, or seeing anything too violent. My parents taught me these things as a child, and they stuck with me. I can understand phrases like these: [i]"With the current level of technology available to developers, the representation of death and portrayal of violence in gaming has become so realistic, that it's more efficient at desensitizing children."[/i] As games have gotten more and more realistic in their depiction's it possibly makes the scenes more able to be associated with reality, mainly to the young ones who don't know better, mind you. But do I think they should pass laws banning them? No. If a parent can't sit their child down, and explain the things they see on TV, or play in video games are merely fiction made purely for entertainment, then it's the parent's fault not the game developer's. Even then, it's still a possibility that a child could do something wrong in society. Sadly though, when a child pulls a gun on someone else the government immediately asks what the child was watching or playing. I mean it seems impossible to them that a child could have done it because they were seriously stressed out, and for some reason snapped. Perhaps they were just mentally unstable to begin with. But whatever the reason is it never matters, unless they can associate their problems with a video game or movie they were using. It's just more ways the government gets to control people, and I certainly don't appreciate their accusations. Especially since, most likely, they have never actually played a video game in their lives or at least enough to know it's not all about violence. It's also a lot like the complaint about women being in games, such as fighting. They really liked the fact that women could be portrayed as a female who could go toe to toe with men and actually win. But they complain when they also realized they could be beat up too. It's fine for those people to have women be in video games as long as they're winning or not being harmed, but if they're getting hurt in any way it's automatically degrading women. But that really makes no sense. Who is being degraded? A fictional female made of polygons, and pixels? How come every female in games automatically represent women as a whole when they're not they way they think a women should be? It's all just getting ridiculous anymore. I don't know if this post will make sense to others, because sometimes when I type it comes out wrong. But this is what I think, and hopefully I lend something to this thread.
  13. Yeah, Jason X was a disgrace when thought of as a horror. But when you think of it as an action comedy it was pretty successful. That movie made me laugh a lot, and while I still dislike Robo Jason. It was also another amusing part of the movie. When you watch Jason X you got to think of it as a comedy, because if you try to take it as a serious horror flick you'll just hate the hell out of it. Want an example? Well, a while back on Mad TV they had a skit where Jason was on a NASA rocket with the astronauts killing them. That was a comedy, and a funny skit at that. I believe it was using a mixture of the Friday the 13th, and Apollo 13 titles. Actually, that might have been Michael Myers, but still it's relevant. I just try not to associate it with the actual Friday the 13th series, and think of it as a Scary Movie type thing where Jason becomes a robo astronaut killing everyone else aboard. Anyway, I am looking forward to Freddy vs. Jason because, as Semjaza so brilliantly put it, it's the match up horror fans have been waiting for. The two titans of terror, heh I thought that would sound good, will go at to prove who is truly the most horrific of the two. Anyway, while I agree with Kevin about it ending in a draw of some sort I still look forward to it as much as ever. I'm still not quite sure about what the plot is, and from the few posts here pertaining to it. I can piece together some of it, but ultimately the only way to know for sure is to wait until it come out and check it out.
  14. Well, both of them kill people at random and I'm guessing that both feel the other is muscling in on their territory. Jason, and Freddy both want to have everyone to themselves, but with the other in the way he'll have to deal with the loss of some victims by the other's hand instead of his own. It seems like a huge territorial thing, and it sounds pretty cool because from what I hear. Jason will in fact invade Elm Street, and Freddy will haunt Camp Crystal Lake. That is until they come together and real sparks fly.
  15. Yeah, it's a good game. I own it as well. But I was disappointed by the lack of modes in the game. Granted I knew this before actually buying the game, but I still felt it's good on it's own. However more modes, and the ability to play as all of the characters in story mode would have greatly helped out it's replay value. It's plays somewhat like Aki's past wrestling titles done on the N64, but it obvious favor more of a fighting feel rather than wrestling. I mean KO's are the most common ways to win, followed by Submissions, and Pins coming in last. I have seen more submission than I have seen pins. Overall, the game looks and plays good. But it lack too much to be a long term purchase. It might just be worth a rent, or simply buy it and immediately take it back for a trade in after beating it.
  16. Hmmm...I actually expected more people to be looking forward to this. But anyway it's been in the making for a long time. If anyone has seen both Jason Goes To Hell, and Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, then they'd know that Jason and Freddy made very small appearances in the other's movie. In Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare Jason supposedly picked up Freddy's glove after his demises, I have seen the movie but I don't remember this part. I may have to check it out again, but this is what I read on the net about it. Also at the end of Jason Goes To Hell Freddy's hand came up from the ground and pulls Jason's mask to hell with them. So it's obvious that they have been planning a cross over movie between the two for a while now. Well, I understand your feelings on not seeing it because of some of the disgraceful movies made involving the characters. But this movie still looks good to me, and the fight scenes between the two look awesome in the trailer.
  17. [center][img]http://www.freddyvsjason.com/flash/images/poster_poster.jpg[/img][/center] That's right. Ladies, and gentlemen it's time to place your bets. The two most recognized of villains in the horror genre are set to go at it in a movie simply called Freddy vs. Jason. Freddy Krueger haunted his victim's dreams to slaughter them in their sleep, while Jason stalked them when they were awake. According to records Jason holds the title of most body count with just a bit over one hundred kills, as for Freddy. He only has a little over forty, but he's still one of best when it comes to horror. I grew up watching the two horror icons, and while I never really cared for Nightmare on Elm Street movies I thought Freddy Krueger was an awesome character. But Jason Voorhees has always been my favorite, as were the Friday the 13th films. The movie is set to come out August 15th, and I am really looking forward to it by the looks of the trailer, which can be seen [url=http://www.freddyvsjason.com/trailer/freddyvsjason.html]HERE[/url]. I'd like to get some opinions on this, and perhaps get some discussion going about Freddy vs. Jason.

  19. Yeah, sadly injuries have been a pretty big reason why I have some doubts about him myself. But he was a great wrestler, and he has put on some great matches as well. Dean Malenko vs. Ultimo Dragon was a great match in WCW. Well, if he can wrestle anywhere near as good as he use to be able to then I think it'll be an awesome addition to the cruiserweight roster. Sadly, I must agree with Charles on this subject. WWE is the land of the giants, and it's pretty obvious when a talentless piece of garbage like Big Show is so high up in the ranks. I mean the man is supposed to be punished for the way he recklessly dropped a helpless Rey Mysterio on his head, but instead gets to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship for about the eighth time. WWE has their heads nestled snugly up their asses.
  20. I have to say this is probably you best work so far, and that is really saying something since everything you've written is great. Like I said about your rough draft it felt like I was reading a movie. I mean I could actually picture every little aspect of the settings and actions in the story in my mind as if it were a movie I had just finished watching. It has sort of an eerie feel to it, and yet has some dark humor when it comes to Mrs. Whittlebone beating her grand kids with an old hickory stick oddly enough named Old Hickory. This is work you should definitely be proud of. Great work.
  21. I bought the game today. So far it seems pretty cool, it's more than just a Max Payne clone as I have heard it to be. You can use enemies as human shield, disarm them if you have no weapon, and even use your trusty dog to attack the enemy and bring you back their gun. You couldn't do any of that in Max Payne, also you can put your back to walls and pop out from time to time shooting back at enemies in your area. Another cool thing to do is grab things like a fir extinguisher and toss it at the enemy, then shoot it and it will explode blowing them away. The story seems good so far, and I like the way most of the game looks. But I have a few problems with the game. Occasionally the game will begin to move jerkingly, and a lot of the camera angles suck. Usually it's not that bad since you can adjust the camera angles yourself with the right analog stick, but in certain spot where you really need that ability the game won't allow you to change the camera angles. They also have a lot of what they call mini-games that you must play to progress in the game, such as lighting weights, arm wrestling, etc. I think most of them are just ridiculous. Also, all though I am not too far, the game seems to be a little too easy. It's a good game even with the flaws though.
  22. Hey, this might be a good RPG. But if you want more people to join up I suggest you create more of an introduction to your RPG. It would help get people interested in joining.
  23. I am happy to hear they are remaking Metal Gear Solid, that was an awesome game. Making improvements upon it would only make it better. I severely hated that ghastly excuse of a sequel called Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Don't get me wrong I love Metal Gear, and Snake but Metal Gear Solid 2 was a joke. It only let you play as Snake for about fifteen minutes, and the rest you played as that chump Raiden. Thanks to him being made the main character for the rest of the game the players had to put up with his nonsense conversations with his girlfriend Rose. Those are two huge aspects of the game I hated. The game really made up for it though with awesome graphics, and terrific gameplay. Those are the only reasons I even kept playing, but even with such great things going for a game a horrible plot can kill it. The games unfolding plot was great--that is until you reach the last sections of the game. The plot got so ridiculous, and so far out it was impossible to like anything about the game after that. The way they screwed with your head also ruined the feel of the game, after playing for so long I was terribly pissed off by the sudden strange, for lack of a better word, messages that kept popping up. That really took me out of the game, and I just could barely finish the game without just getting rid of it. Also the last boss, or rather bosses, were totally and utterly overdone. If you've beaten the game, then you know exactly what I am referring too. I actually consider Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty to be the biggest let downs of all time, and it ranks up their with ET for the Atari as one of the worst games [b]ever[/b]. However, I did love Metal Gear Solid and so I know I will love the remake aptly called The Twin Snakes. The Playstation version totally blows Sons of Liberty out of the water even with the dated graphics, and there is no doubt in my mind that The Twin Snakes will too. This is my opinion, and I am not sure how many of you actually agree with it. But I think we are all in for a treat with this remake.
  24. Well, I was not originally going to enter this. But I seem oddly drawn to it by the amount of competition now available to me. Many of you know me as The Vampire: Ed, the dark hearted creature of the night. However, a select few of you may know me simply as--Rob. I write off and on, and am in no way considered professional or anything of the sort. But I have used many different sorts of hobbies to hone my writing skills. The majority of which were e-feds based on wrestling of many kinds, and I have been one of the few considered to be a dominating force in their presences. I have also found myself participating in many RPGs, some here on Otakuboards in fact. I, like some of the all ready entered contestants, have a sorta twisted sense of humor, and it leads me to write some pretty graphic scene depicting gore in a wide variety. So be warned some of the writing you may read could very well be disturbing to you. I do not claim to be great by any means, but I suppose this contest will let me know how exactly I stack up to the rest. You may consider The Vampire: Ed entered in Otaku Idol, and I hope it to be a learning experience for myself. Thank you, and good evening.
  25. Whoops, I didn't notice that. Well, Oyeah you got some pretty good games. But you were ripped off with WWE Raw. Anyway, Raw 2 looks like it'll be much better. That'll be out in a few months so that might be well worth it. Besides that I really don't know what else to recommend.
