1.
As for the XBOX 2, how do you see it surviving? Halo was fun, but no one really cares anymore.
HAHAHAHA!!!! Sorry, that just slipped out there... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Oops, did it again. Anyway, you only speak about XBox 2's inability to survive based upon your own opinions of the first XBox, which obviously isn't highly thought of in your eyes. But let's just talk about this really, really incorrect statement here. You say "Halo was fun, but no one really cares anymore." So I ask you, where have you been? Since Halo was released for the XBox it was one of top selling games for the console, and not to mention gamers were lined up at video game stores around the country at midnight just to get their hands on a copy of Halo 2. In fact, Halo 2 sold 125 million copies on the first day! So how could no one care about Halo when it motivated gamers enough to wait in lines outside of stores in freezing cold weather at midnight to buy one of the one-hundred twenty-five million copies of Halo 2 sold on that day? You speak seemingly from opinion, and that's it. No facts at all. And just because you, for some reason, saw XBox as a failure doesn't mean XBox 2 will be a failure when so many people consider the first XBox to be a success. I like the XBox the best of the three consoles, and I started off with a PS2 only and assumed the same as many that the XBox wouldn't be any good. But it proved me, and many others wrong. It is a great console, and if it's any indication of how the XBox 2 will be then I can't assume it would be a failure.
2. The Atari got me into games, but my obsession came with the Nintendo Entertainment System. I was a huge fan of the Mega Man games on the NES, and I also liked a variety of other titles such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games, Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, etc. The NES is a huge reason why I got into gaming, but I guess the Mega Man games were more to accredit. My obsession just grew more and more with next generation consoles (SEGA Genesis, and Super Nintendo) with games like Sonic The Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Mortal Kombat, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3, etc. So many great games that solidified my obsession with games--but sadly as strongly as I felt about games then, I just don't care nearly as much anymore. I don't really know why.
3. There were a number of reasons why the Dreamcast failed. Firstly, it was just poorly timed. It's advertising hadn't been running all that long before Sony announced the PS2. So the PS2 always loomed over the Dreamcast, even before the Dreamcast was released. People were anticipating the PS2 more so right off the bat that hurt sales. Finally, when the Dreamcast was released in Japan there were reportedly hardware problems and the Dreamcast had to be recalled and fixed up by it's American release. This cost SEGA both time, and money. So by the time it was released the PS2 was set be released shortly afterwards. It was selling, but apparently the sales pretty much ceased completely after PS2 was released. Not to mention the hardware in the PS2 was much better, the only reason early Dreamcast titles looked better than early PS2 titles was because PS2 is a more difficult system to develop for. As the developers got use to the PS2 and began to gain experience with the system the games' graphics began to look much better. It's release was just bad timing, and it's hardware was practically obsolete because of the bigger and better consoles coming out. It was a good console, but it was just overshadowed by it's bigger and badder competition. Anyway, the biggest disappointment ever has to be the Virtual Boy. My god was that thing terrible. The way it was set up just hurt you on some many levels. The way you had to sit with your neck bent and your eyes planted in the viewer just kill it right away. Man, after using that thing from about ten minutes I had a sore neck and I was nearly blind! That thing was an abomination in video game history.
4. Well, I can pretty much sum up why Metal Gear Solid 3 is more enjoyable to play than Splinter Cell, at least for me, without involving the camo system or the rations--just gameplay. In Splinter Cell, as already stated, you're forced to complete levels and objectives exactly as the creators decide you should. If you try to stray even a hair off course you're mission is over and they throw you back to the start of the level or last check point. It's especially not enjoyable when simple little flaws cause mission failures, such as an enemy spotting you through a wall somehow. I've seen it happen once while watching Charles play. Anyway, the point is you're stuck doing exactly what the creators want you to do with little to no leave way what so ever. You can never really play your own way. In Splinter Cell when you're spotted the mission is over, in some missions when you kill someone the mission is over, etc. These aren't fun when they're forcing their rules, their guidelines, upon you. However, in Metal Gear Solid 3 they give you similar guidelines but give you, the player, freedom over whether or not to obey those guidelines. For instance at some part in Metal Gear Solid 3 you're told to avoid casualties, and you do as you're told and follow their orders to a tee--or, you can kill every soldier you come across and not fail your mission, all though I'm fairly sure you get chewed out about it in a conversation. But that's it, that's part of the fun of Metal Gear Solid 3. You have more freedom, and you choose how you want to play. If you like being stealthy you can be, you're not forced to be. If you like running and gunning you can do just that, but you don't have to. I mean, what makes the Metal Gear games extremely fun is the fact that you can be spotted, but instead of failing immediately after the enemy lays their eyes on you; you can chose to either kill them, knock them out, or simply run and hide until they give up and return to their positions. How could anyone not enjoy Metal Gear Solid 3 more? I mean if you don't have fun playing it, it can only be because you don't know how to approach it with the freedom you're given in the game. I don't own either game, but I had my chance to play both and see almost all of both. In my opinion Metal Gear Solid 3 is just much more enjoyable.
5.
Oop, I never thought I'd win with that one, it was a spur of the moment thang. Here ya' go...
Hello, and thank you for tuning in to the six o'clock news. I'm Sandy Notimportant and here's the news at the top of the hour. During the filming of Leonard Dicaprio's latest movie "Pretty Boy Punks With Guns," an unknown assailant lunged at Leo with a chainsaw instantly decapitating him. Once apprehended his identity had been revealed as that of Otakuboard's own Vampire: Ed. Recent reports state that Ed will be receiving the key to the city, a life time achievement award, the Nobel prize, and possibly a movie deal on how he had slain the terrible actor and saved the world of countless mediocre Dicaprio movies in the future. The Vampire: Ed is a hero to not only the nation, but the world. Thank you, Ed. Thank you.
6.
EA and NFL deny reports of exclusive deal Rob Fahey 09:54 20/05/2004 EA Sports' rivals heave a sigh of relief as reports are decried as false Both Electronic Arts and the NFL Players Association have moved to deny reports that they are working towards a major exclusive deal for player rights licensing, with the Sports Business Journal retracting its original story. "The story published in Sports Business Journal includes some serious errors related to agreements between EA and its partners," Electronic Arts spokesman Glen O'Connell told gi.biz. "The financials reported in the story are incorrect by an order of magnitude and the NFL Players Association has contacted the publisher to request a correction." The NFL Players Association has also separately denied the reports, which suggested that EA would enter into a four-year exclusive licensing deal with Players, Inc (NFLPA's licensing arm) costing some $250 million per year. Sorce: GamesIndustry.biz
Apparently, it was all false information and I'm extremely happy to hear this if it is true.
7. That's just terrible. EA just did that because they knew they couldn't win. SEGA sports made the better games, and offered unbeatable prices. EA, even if it is how business is done, to me, are nothing but sore losers. I'm just waiting for them to buy out the rights for the NBA, NHL, and MLB too. I wouldn't be surpised. They know they can't touch the quality of SEGA's sports games. If SEGA was able to do this I'd been extremely happy, because unlike EA, especially nowadays, SEGA Sports puts out worth while sports games that look, feel, and play way better. Hell, and for only twenty bucks too. Not sure if that price would stay the same, but at least their twenty dollar sports games are actually worth fifty dollars unlike most of EA's sports games.
8. Ah, yes, Legend of Lagaia. I loved this game. It probably hasn't aged too well, graphically anyhow, but for it's time it was an amazing looking game. Not to mention it has some the of the most unique and inventive gameplay ever seen in an RPG. The story as well was pretty good too. All though a bit slow at first, it picked up quite nicely and ended wonderfully with multipe endings to boot if memory serves me correctly. Legend of Legaia is still one of my most favorite games to this day. As for Legend of Legaia 2. I own it, but have yet to beat it. I just don?t play games as much as I use to, can?t get into them as good as I could. But from all that I?ve seen, and played of the game it?s pretty good if you ask me. I?m not sure if I?d say it?s as good as the first one, but it?s still a good RPG and if you do like the first one you?ll most likely like the second one. It?s also probably pretty cheap now, so you shouldn?t be afraid to pick it up and give it a try.
9. I would have thought there would be more responses for such good poems. Oh well, at least now I've got the pleasure of being the first to respond. Anyway, all of them are really great. It's hard to choose a favorite, but I guess I was more drawn to Don't Ask For Forever, that was really well done and expressed a lot of deep emotion. I think it was a beautiful poem. Now, I think I'd have to go with Dark Romance as my second favorite because--well, it reminds me of a vampire like myself. That's not the only reason why I like it obviously, because that too was very well done. Death of an Angel is really good too, I'd actually have to say it's almost as beautiful as your first poem. Overall, I think you should be very proud of your work, and I certainly hope more people will realize this and respond here as well.
10. All of your poems are very good, and it's kinda hard to choose a favorite. But I guess I was more partial to your first, Enforced Silence. But it's pretty much too close to call, because the other poems are pretty much just as good and you've done a great job of portraying emotion in them.
11. Hey, nice work, you've got some good looking drawlings there. I like the first, and second ones the best. Panda would probably go nuts over the panda you drew too, lol. Keep up the good work, later.
12. It looks great, and I'm looking forward to trying it out, but sadly it won't be the full game. They said they weren't remaking the whole game.
Q2. Will you be making the entire game? If not, why not? A2. No, currently we are only planning 10 of some of the best scenes from Chrono Trigger. Why not? Because we do not have the resources to complete a game of this magnitude by ourselves. The project would never be completed.
That is from their FAQ in their forums. That's a shame really, because having a full Chrono Trigger like that would be incredibly awesome, but it's not going to happen sadly. Well, I guess this is better than nothing-but then again it seems like a tease to just give you parts of the game like this. Oh well.
13. How about a virtual message board game where you play as a guy who completely ignores the first post in topics, and practically says the same exact thing? Except the guy just changes around a few things. We'll call it "Falkon." You can also perform fatalities to this guy as well, like overloading his brain with common sense. Sounds really awesome doesn't it? Well, ever better still it can be published by Acclaim and developed by Studio Gigante. Now they would just bring it on home, and send sales sky rocketing!
14. Hayden pulled at the coat, even hurting himself further just to get it on. But he failed, it flopped around on his back as he reached for the other sleeve. Edana watched again, then decided to help Hayden out. She tied the Chocobo to a nearby post for a moment then approached Hayden. Hayden's struggling ceased as he felt a hand on his shoulder, and another pulling the coat over for him to put his arm through the sleeve. After Hayden had his coat on he turned to see who helped him, and found Edana giggling at him. "I could see that you're still hurting. What's so special about this coat that you'd hurt yourself just to put it on?" Edana asked taking a seat next to Hayden in another chair. "Well, this was my father's coat, he left it to me after he passed away." Hayden confessed as he leaned back clutching at his ribs. "The guns too. They were my father's too." "I see. Now I understand." Edana said nodding. "Were you two close?" Hayden sighed, and looked away leaving the conversation hanging in silence. Just when Edana expected no response, he gave her one. "No." Hayden said as he sighed again. "I hated him for a long time. He was a soldier, so I never had a permanent home. We moved around a lot, I never had a friend from more than a month. I hated him for the life I was forced to lead because of his job. Eventually I fell in with the wrong crowd, did a lot of stupid stuff and found myself in boot camp. I was never much of listening to authority figures, but eventually I was straightened out-well, enough anyway." "Is that so?" Edana replied laughing, then she became serious again. "I'm sorry, you and your father didn't get along." "Well, we grew closer once I got out of boot camp, after all we had more in common then. I was a sharpshooter, and so was he. I was the best marksman in the whole camp, like my father the soldier." Hayden said with a half hearted smile. "We didn't have much time to spend with each other, he left me these items and went off to a war and died in combat. I realize how much I missed out on when he was gone." Edana patted Hayden's shoulder as he stared at the ground in deep thought, then he saw the edge of tattered picture sticking out of her pocket. He pulled it out and stared at realizing it was the picture of his ex-girlfriend, Naomi, that he shot up the other day. "What are you doing with this?" Hayden asked looking a little upset. "I found it after you went for your walk." Edana admitted. "Who is it?" "A rotten woman who broke my heart." Hayden said with the slip of the tongue. "Ugh-he name is Naomi. She cheated on me with some prick, then left me without so much as a good-bye. She threw me aside like a dirty tissue." "I see." Edana said starting to finally understand why Hayden acted the way he did. "So she's to blame then?" "W-what?" Hayden said thinking he had said too much, then attempted to play it off. "Uh-no, no, I mean she was just some chic-no one important." Hayden inched away from Edana slight feeling uncomfortable, but Edana just smiled and laughed. "I think you can be a good guy when you want to be, you proved that by rescuing those boys and even helping me that time after the dragon attack me." Edana said pitying Hayden. "You can also be a real jerk too, but I rather you were more like this all the time. Then no one would have to hit you so much." Hayden and Edana laughed simultaneously, then was brought out of their laughter by the chocobo squawking at them practically begging for attention. Edana got up and went back to the chocobo then waved to Hayden as she began to walk away with the chocobo.
15. I didn't spell aggressive wrong, I took that definition right off a web site. The misspelling was on their part. Anyway, my post wasn't meant to offend you or anything, I was just letting you know what antisocial really meant. Besides those definitions alone don't mean anything, they're just the basic definitions. I took them straight off of a personality test page, and there are levels assigned to each category depending on what your answers are. It doesn't mean that the whole definition applies to you, but some of it may.
16.
Crackers... *steals* Anyway, I am very anti-social, I have a few really good friends, but other then that I have many pen pals. I used to be the most popular girl in schoo (Grade K-early Grade 4), then I became 'great' friends with a backstabber, she found my secrets, and told the people who hated me enough already, in 3 days, I had only one friend, (we still talk, but we aren't on the 'friend' level) then as soon as I made more friends she dropped me. Now I'm stuck with those who I met at that time (with about 6 additions, in a 3-4 year time period!)
You're not actually antisocial, at least I doubt it. I always thought I was antisocial as well, but I found out that being antisocial doesn't mean that you're someone with poor social skills. Actually the real definition of antisocial is defined as having a lack of conscience. Here's the full definition:
Antisocial A common misconception is that antisocial personality disorder refers to people who have poor social skills. The opposite is often the case. Instead, antisocial personality disorder is characterized by a lack of conscience. People with this disorder are prone to criminal behavior, believing that their victims are weak and deserving of being taken advantage of. They tend to lie and steal. Often, they are careless with money and take action without thinking about consequences. They are often agressive and are much more concerned with their own needs than the needs of others.
There you have it. You're actually avoident.
Avoidant Avoidant personality disorder is characterized by extreme social anxiety. People with this disorder often feel inadequate, avoid social situations, and seek out jobs with little contact with others. They are fearful of being rejected and worry about embarassing themselves in front of others. They exaggerate the potential difficulties of new situations to rationalize avoiding them. Often, they will create fantasy worlds to substitute for the real one. Unlike schizoid personality disorder, avoidant people yearn for social relations yet feel they are unable to obtain them. They are frequently depressed and have low self-confidence.
There was no real reason for me to post this I guess, but I figured it would be good for people to know the actual definition of antisocial.
17. We're actually a lot a like in the friend department. I've been used and stabbed in the back so many times, by friends and family alike, I'm the human equivalent of a pin cushion, figuratively speaking of course. Anyway, I, like you, said similar things about not having many friends. I said I was better off without them, one is all I need, etc. However, I still hold that true to this day. It's not that I don't or can't befriend people, it's just that I never feel compelled to, not anymore at least. Online it's obviously a different story, people can become friends easier because online friendships mostly never are focused on appearance or objects it's always about who you really are on the inside. Well, it's nice to have these online friends, but even an untrusting guy like myself knows it's not enough. Just try and find friends who are accepting and caring of you and your differences or similarities.
18. Of course vampires are cool, well at least I am. Everyone here loves me. I don't think this place would be the same without good ol' TVE. Anyway, I'd have to say vampires are best represented in Anne Rice's work, and the movie version of Interview with the Vampire.
19. Razel made his way to the front gate to speak with Captain Lillu. He spotted her giving a speech to the rest of the guards, and in that speech her voice rose to mighty pitch showing her position of power with in the ranks, a strong commanding voice that let everyone know she was nothing but business when it came to protecting her mistress, and their 'kingdom' of Nur'Lograin. Razel approached her as the speech ended, and she commanded them to their posts. Captain Lillu, and Razel were considered friends, all though they didn't show it much by they way they always presented themselves to one another, always serious and cold. "Razel." Captain Lillu said greeting Razel with a slight nod. "What can I do for you?" "I am in need of a mage, one to check over, perhaps even strengthen the magic barriers over the castle." Razel said looking over the guards patrolling the grounds. "Our mistress had a visitor, obviously not a threatening presence, but still unwelcomed. Which is why Mistress Vajain demands a mage's service." "I see, well I will send a few of my soldiers to retrieve one." Captain Lillu said as she turned motioning a couple guards to her. "She commanded me to find a mage, so I will be going. I just wanted your knowledge to direct me to the best possible place to find one for the job." Razel replied surprising Lillu. "You? You will be leaving the mistresses side?" Lillu questioned. "That's quite a surprise. You've never left Vajain's side once the entire time you've been here, well, at least not to the point of you leaving the castle." "I don't want, but it is my duty to do as she commands. She asks for a mage, and so I will find one for her. Besides the town isn't far from here, it shouldn't take me longer than a half a day to retrieve one for here." Razel said confidently. "I see, you are correct." Lillu replied. "Well, I think it would be best if I sent these two with you still. They may be of some help to you still." "Yes, I suppose so. Well, I trust you will keep Vajain safe until I return. Let us find this mage." Razel said walking past Lillu with the two soldiers following closely behind. Elsewhere, Molvo rests day dreaming of murdering Razel, and Vajain. It's all he can think about, day and night. He waits for this mystery man whom sent his messenger to a gruesome death at Molvo's hands just to deliver a message. "I am growing impatient." Malvo growls to himself. "I can't wait to sink my blade into Vajain's flesh." "Do not worry, friend, you shall have another opportunity to do just that soon." A voice said from behind the shadows. "Who's there?" Molvo called. "Show yourself!" A cloaked being slowly approaches Molvo from the darkness, and bows to Molvo. No face could be seen from under the hood, nor was the voice clear enough to determine a sex or race, but these were not concerns of Molvo's. Molvo simply wished to know where he fell into place, and how he could have his chance at revenge. "It is truly a pleasure to meet you Molvo." The cloaked being said. "It is quite obvious who is the greatest creation of Vajain's, it's too bad she couldn't see this herself. It is a sad sight indeed to see you shoved aside for a mere vampire." "I don't care anymore. I want to kill them." Molvo screamed clenching his fists. "Of course, and you have every right to want that. Which why I am here to enlist your help." The cloaked being replied. "By Vajain's side you were overlooked, and eventually banished for your nature, a nature you could not be blamed for. However, by my side you wouldn't have to worry about that happening ever again. You'd never have to hide anymore, you wouldn't have to worry about being punish for you lust for murder. I would let you do as you wish-IF you served me." "Served you?" Molvo questioned looking interested. "Well, if that is what it takes to get Vajain, and her vampire guard, then I will serve you. If you are going to treat me as you say you will, then I don't see any reason to decline your offer." "Good. Good. Now, come with me and I will show you what I have in store for you." The cloaked figure said as it turned and walked with Molvo eagerly following behind.
20. The new restriction sucks. I barely have anything in my introduction as it is, and I can't put anything else up there now because of this restriction. Just like the restriction on signatures here on OtakuBoards most of the characters are used up by coding and spacing and not by the actual amount of content seen. The restriction is really lame in my opinion, but I doubt that really counts for much when most people seem to think it's a good idea, I guess. Eh, whatever, I'm just putting this out there even though it's pointless to do so.
21. Hayden smiled as Edana happily pet the chocobo, then laughed slightly as it crooned, and cooed as it received some scratching under its chin. Hayden suddenly hunched over as pain shot through his body, his ribs still not fully healed, the damage was too much to be completely healed by simple potions or curing spells. They only rejuvenated his vitality, however his body still had to deal with the pain. Hayden walked away from the rest of the team holding his side, he didn't want them to know he was still hurting. "Damn-" Hayden hissed under his breath. "That monster did a lot of damage to me, I'm still feeling it." Hayden lean against the side of Cid's house holding his ribs still, then caught sight of the two boys he had saved the night before. They were walking towards him, and with them a young woman holding a package of some sort. "That's him!" One of the boys called out tugging at the girls dress. "He's the guy who saved us from that monster." The boys ran up and began tugging on Hayden's arms, his face grimaced as the pain grew from the pulling and pushing of his body. Edana happened to be walking the chocobo by at that moment, and she stopped to listen in. The young girl accompanying the boys pulled them off of Hayden, and shook her head at them. "I'm sorry, sir." The girl said as she turned her attention back to Hayden. "They've been going on about you all night since you saved them last night. At first, I didn't believe them, but then I heard about a wounded man being brought back to the village from a monster attack. So I figured they must have been telling the truth." "It's fine-really." Hayden said waving his hand while sucking in some air. "Just keep them out of the forest after hours, it's dangerous out there." "Yes, I'm sorry. I've told them before-" The young girl said as she gave the boys a stern look. "But, they're hard to keep an eye on. You see it's just me, and them. Their mother, and father were killed by a monster, not unlike the one I heard about in their telling of your heroics last night. My name is Mona, I was a close friend of their mother's, I decided to take care of them after her and her husband's deaths." "Well, that's very generous of you." Hayden responded trying to stand straight up. "It was the least I could do for the years of friendship their mother gave me, and she helped me out quite a bit." Mona said as she held the package to her chest. "Anyway, I came here to thank you for what you did. I have something for you." "No, that's all right, I don't want anything in return." Hayden said shaking his head. Mona handed the package to Hayden, obviously not going to take no for an answer, so Hayden reluctantly accepted it. Hayden smiled as best he could as he opened the package and found his coat, it was torn off of him by the baby Behemoth. "My coat! I love this thing!" Hayden said as he quickly tried to put it on, but had to stop as his ribs started hurting again. "Argh-I'll put it on later. Wait-I thought it was torn up." "It was, but I sowed it up for you." Mona said as she pointed at a very, very fine line of stitching. "I am a seamstress. So I am very good at sowing." "I'd have to say you're damn good at sowing. I can hardly see the stitching." Hayden said as he felt the coat over. "Thank you." "No, thank you." Mona said as she hugged the two boys closer to her. "After all you saved them. Mending your torn coat was the least that I could do. Well, we've got to get going, boys say good-bye." "Good-bye!" The boys said simultaneously as Hayden rubbed one of their heads ruffling up his hair. Mona waved as her and the boys turned and left. Hayden smiled to himself as he watched them leave, then looked at his coat again. Edana smiled seeing Hayden's nice side, one without the ego or testosterone driven pick up lines. Hayden attempted to put his coat back on, only able to get a single arm in the sleeve he gave up and just sat down in on of the chairs littering the lawn. Edana's attention was brought back to the chocobo as it nudged her gently trying to get it to pet, and scratch it again.
22. It started getting dark, but Hayden had been totally oblivious at the time with his mind stuck in deep thought. Suddenly he heard the slow stir of cricket's as they began to tweak, and chirp in the cool breeze of the night. Hayden looked around seeing that he had complete walked out of the village, and into the middle of the forest. He then looked up seeing the moon and stars out, he shook his head angered that he had been so out of it he didn't even notice. Just as he was about to turn back he heard bushes ruffling, and heavy breathing and loud foot steps. Two boys came running through the bushes, their screams of terror growing as they closed in on Hayden, but before they could pass him by Hayden grabbed them both by their shirts pulling them back to face him. "What's going on? Don't you kids know how dangerous it is out here this time of the night?" Hayden said questioning them, but they didn't respond, at least not with words, they kept trying to yank themselves away from him. As Hayden was about to speak again he heard a loud growl behind him followed by the heavy thumps of something's footsteps. Hayden spun around pulling his guns from their holsters motioning the kids to stay behind him. Hayden aimed his guns at the bushes as a large creature emerged, a Behemoth, notoriously vicious monsters with an appetite for human flesh. They claimed the lives of villagers who strayed too far from the village. It wasn't fully grown, but it was still quite a threatening sight to behold. "S**t..." Hayden mutters as he backs up a bit. The Behemoth charged quickly as Hayden was ready to blow it full of holes, but then when he pulled the triggers all he heard was clicks. F**k! I didn't reload! Hayden thought to himself a split second before the Behemoth spun around swatting Hayden through the air like a ragdoll with it's massive tail. His body crashed hard into the ground kicking up dirt, and leaving a small ditch where his body had landed. Hayden felt numb for a moment, a delayed reaction, but then the pain went shooting through his body all at once. "NO! Ahhh..." One of the boys screamed as the Behemoth turns it's sights back on them. Hayden pushed himself harder than he had before forcing himself to his feet fighting through the pain, suddenly Hayden without thinking shoved the boys out of the way taking the full force of the monster's claws. Again Hayden was sent sailing into the air spinning from the force, screaming in pain the whole time, the sharp claws tore his coat and shirt from his torso while leaving a large gash across his mid section, the blood sprayed into the air misting whatever was closest to the impact zone of Hayden's landing. "Argh--RUN!" Hayden screamed in pain towards the boys, and rolled over onto his back. The boys did as they were told, and luckily for them the Behemoth lost interest in them once it smelled Hayden's freshly spilt blood. Hayden's grip remained on only on gun, while the other was flung away in midair, he struggled with his pocket to remove extra clips he kept handy and he did quickly reloading his gun with the rush of adrenaline kicking in. Hayden rolled over ignoring the dirt burning his wound, and stood ready to fire. The Behemoth opened it's mouth, and with that Hayden closed one eye focusing on his target. "Bingo..." Hayden said to himself as he pulled the trigger. A loud bang rang out echoing through out the forest, and village, and Hayden watched as his bullet tore through the soft tissue of the roof of the Behemoth's mouth. The bullet burrowed into the Behemoth's brain killing it instantly, probably the only real weakness a Behemoth has. The monster crashed into the ground, and slowly came to a stop in front of Hayden weakly grinning at his handy work. As the rush of adrenaline passed he could feel the pain again, it was worse now and the blood loss was pretty substantial. Hayden attempted to holster his gun, but missed as he grew dizzy and dropped it. Hayden turned back towards the village, but only managed to take a single step before falling unconscious.
23. Hayden fired off a couple shots into the trees ahead, not actually aiming for anything in particular, just breaking a few branches. His anger was building in him, even after the scene was over he still felt angry, but not at Acacia for slapping him, nor Reese for her spatula slap, and not even Edana whom it started over. Hayden was angry with himself, for being the way he was, but he couldn't help himself. After his first, and only love, a women named Naomi, left him for some playboy. So thinking he could win her back, he molded himself more towards that image. Before he was a little like that, but now he was much worse and he couldn't seem to shake it off. When his true personality tried to shine through, it would usually be fought off by that little voice in the back of his head telling him women like the playboy attitude. "Yeah, Hayden's a joke." Hayden said out loud as he fired off another shot. "Hayden's always the joke." Hayden grunted as he threw his arms down, and just stared at the ground under him. Then he put his hand in his pocket and removed a picture, that of his ex-love, Naomi. He stared at it for a moment, his lips quivering, and then suddenly he threw the picture through the air watching the wind carry it for a moment. "You *****!" Hayden screamed as he fired rapidly at the picture with both guns. "You ruined me..." Hayden watched as pieces tore from the picture, then slowly holstered his guns. His jaw squeezed shut as he fought screaming out his rage, and he closed his eyes trying to calm himself down. Little did he know Edana had seen the whole thing, all thought she hadn't quite known exactly what it was about, she had a good idea. She felt a little uneasy about disturbing him now after seeing the anger, so she decided to leave him alone. But when she started backing up she stepped on a twig causing a snapping sound startling Hayden. "Who's there?!" Hayden yelled as he spun around grabbing at his guns, but then froze seeing Edana staring at him. "Oh-OH, hey-ahem-hey, babe. What's up?" Hayden went into the normal routine, attempting to act as if he wasn't bother by anything. Edana stepped a closer a couple feet analyzing Hayden's expression seeing him fighting back his anger. Hayden put on a false smile, and winked bringing Edana back. "Oh, um-I was just going to tell you the steaks are ready." Edana said with a sympathetic expression. "Ah, well, thanks, but I'm not hungry." Hayden said as he looked around, leaving Edana with a surprised look on her face. "I think I'll just-uh-go for a walk or something." Hayden waved to her as he walked away back towards the town, leaving her wondering if she heard right. Not hungry? I've only known the guy for a little amount of time, and he's got to be the biggest eater I've ever seen. Must be pretty bad. Edana thought to herself. "What's this?" Edana said to herself bending down to put up the shredded picture of Hayden's ex-lover. Meanwhile, Hayden simply strolled around the town keeping to himself, even ignoring any women he could have hit on, on the way through town. Hayden felt run down, and almost as if the life was suck from his body after thinking of that ugly incident that took place about a year back.
24. Hayden cheered up smelling the steaks cooking on the grill, his stomach seemed bottomless, but he was quickly brought back down by Edana, catching her giving him dirty looks. Hayden then returned a look of his own sticking his tounge out at Edana. Edana rolled her eyes, then held her whip up threateningly with a grin. Hayden grabbed his forehead remembering what she had done to him earlier with it, and threw his hands up defeated. Hayden kept his arms raised as he approached her, and then slowly lowered them but not totally keeping his defenses up. "Um-hey, Edana." Hayden smiled nervously. Edana turned her head away in anger as Hayden attempted to talk to her. "Look-I know, I'm an ***, and all that, but I'm honestly sorry for everything I put you through." Hayden said apologetically. Edana quickly looked at Hayden in shock, An apology? she thought. Her facial expression told him that she didn't trust him one bit, but being the good person that she was, she heard him out. "We're going to be stuck with each other for a little while, and I don't want to fight with each other like this for the time we have left." Hayden said with a smile, then slowly extended his hand in friendship. "I'd like to end our mission on a good note, so what do you say from this moment on we stop fighting and just be friends? Huh? Come on, just a shake." Edana smiled at the gesture surprised at the sudden maturity he was showing, and so she accepted. Edana shook Hayden's hand. "So-you do have an okay side to you after all, huh?" Edana said. "Well, I've been smacked around for almost twenty-four hours straight now. I think anyone would wise up after that." Hayden said laughing. "Besides maybe you, and I can get a little closer and-" Edana rolled her eyes again as Hayden seemed to be relapsing into his asshole mode, then held her hand up to silence him mid sentence giving him a stern look before shaking her head and walking away. Hayden put his hands on his hips, and sighed. "Women!" Hayden exclaimed, then turned only to recieve a smack in the head from Acacia. "What the hell was that for?!" "I don't know. It just felt right." Acacia said laughing as she turned and walked away. Hayden stood holding his head as he felt defeated, but then grinned widely as he spotted the steaks on the grill. Hayden walked over and attempted to take one before everyone else, but Reese was there shaking her head. "No, you wait, like everyone else." Reese said as she poked at the steaks with a fork. "Aww-come on, babe. Just let me have mine. I'm starving." Hayden said in a seductive tone. Reese closed her eyes, sighed, then grabbed the spatula to her right and smacked Hayden across the cheek with it. Taken completely by surprise Hayden nearly fell on his face, but managed only to stumble a bit. "I told you, wait your turn." Reese said firmly holding her ground, then she looked Hayden right in the eyes and just stared coldly before speaking again. "And don't call me babe." Hayden bit his lip fighting back the urge to curse up a storm, not to mention because Cid had all ready beaten him to it. Hayden gripped the handle of one his guns, and walked away in search of something to shoot and take his frustrations out on.
25. Hayden fell as Edana's whip tripped him up, his face crashed into the soil with a thump. Hayden didn't move, he laid still without even the slightlest twitch. Edana looked a little concerned at first, but then quickly remembered Hayden's little prank back on the road in which ended with him grabbing a hold of her backside. "I'm not falling for that again." Edana yelled at Hayden as she sat on the log by the fire, then she got up and preceded to nudge Hayden with her foot. "Did you hear me? I know you're just trying to cop a feel, so knock it off and get up." Still Hayden didn't move. Tylan came over and shoved Hayden over onto his back with his foot. Edana's eyes grew wide as she saw Hayden's forehead bleeding while he laid unconscious, and a rock laying where his head rested before Tylan turned him over. Edana looked at the rest of the group and let out a nervous laugh. "Don't worry about it. Someone was going to do it sooner or later. Might as well been you, now maybe he'll leave you alone." Tylan said as he walked towards the camp fire patting Edana on the shoulder as he passed by. Hayden's head had began show signs of a bruise as the blood seeped from the cut, Edana shook her head and exclaimed "Why me?" She cleaned Hayden's cut, and patched his head up. Hayden slowly awoke to the image of Edana kneeling down next to him, he began to smile and asked "Am I that much an asshole?" Almost as if it were rehearsed the entire group said "Yes!" as soon as the words left his mouth. Hayden looked at the rest of the group and sighed, then looked back at Edana. "You love me don't you?" Hayden asked jokingly. Edana smiled back, and leaned down to Hayden. Hayden was surprised, but eager to welcome what he thought was coming. Hayden closed his eyes and waited--then suddenly was knocked back after feeling an open palm smack his wounded forehead. Hayden clutched at his head groaning in pain, as Edana and the rest of the group simply laughed. "You're too easy." Edana said as she stood up, and rejoined the rest of the group sitting around the fire. Hayden slowly sat up, and muttered "Women..." as he turned over and crawled his way back towards the food. Hayden reached for another strip of dragon meat, but Cael took a turn smacking Hayden's wounded forehead. "AHHH--Son of a--what the hell was that for?!" Hayden yelled. "I told you earlier, before Edana knocked you out, that you had enough." Cael said laughing and emphasizing the fact that Edana had knocked him unconscious. Hayden sat up and crossed his arms looking away from the group muttering random, incoherent things. "What a baby. Fine, here. You can have a piece of mine if you just stop whining." Edana said as Hayden smiled and looked her way, but was only greeted by a piece of dragon meat hitting him in the face after being thrown. The group laughed again, as if Hayden was the official jester for their entertainment. "Haha!!" Hayden yelled mockingly as he pulled the meat from his face, and took a bite out of it then showed off his half eaten food to the group causing them to grimace in disgust.
