1. Define evil? That's easy. I am evil, evil is me. I am the type of evil that scares little dogs, and throws frogs at peoples windows as they drive by.
 2. HBO has shown a Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde musical on several occasion. It stars David Hasselhoff of all people, and he plays Jekyll and Hyde. I managed only to see parts of it, never the full thing, and all though I'm not a big musical guy. I thought it was pretty good, even with some bad singing on Hasselhoff's part. Also, I realize it's a live musical on a stage and they couldn't exactly do a make up change to more accurately represent Hyde, it was still very humorous how it was done. Jekyll transformed into Hyde, and it was known only by the fact that Jekyll's long hair was tied back in a ponytail, meanwhile Hyde's hair always fell free. Other than that, he of course, had a different personality as Hyde.
 3. Witches are cool, well as long as they aren't portrayed as green skinned wart covered grannies who seem to hate everyone especially children. That's just about the lamest way someone could portray them since it's the most obvious stereotype you could easily come up with in movies, cartoons, etc. I blame the Wizard of Oz. It could go back further than that, but I don't care it's still the Oz's fault. As for real life witches, well they're cool too as long as they aren't putting hexes on me. It's basically like vampires. People assume they're all evil, when they aren't. Well, I'm evil, but there are others who aren't. My brother The Vampire: Mickey is a goody little two shoes, he only drinks blood from cows and goats.
 4. Well, this is simply a banner, but not for use in my signature. Instead it will go at the very beginning of the introduction to my myOtaku. I'm hoping there is no problem with me doing this, but if there is mods feel free to delete it and let me know my wrong doing. But until then I will post it for the time being. Comments are also welcomed.
 5. Most of those all ready mentioned were great movies, aside from Dumb and Dumber, but in my opinion his absolute best movie wasn't even a comedy. The Majestic is Jim Carrey's best movie yet, and it also demonstrates his talents greatly. He, much like Tom Hanks, showed that he could do something totally different from what he's use to and still make a fantastic movie. I liked Bruce Almighty, The Mask, and the Ace Ventura movies, but The Majestic blows them away. My second favorite Jim Carrey movie is The Grinch, he was so perfect for the role.
 6. That stuff was addicting. It would make me sick, but I couldn't tear myself away from it. It is the Devil's beverage!!! It's a liquid mixed of pure evil, and hatred for humanity. DAMN YOU SURGE!!!!
 7. Lui Kang wasn't in the series, it was Kung Lao, the original Kung Lao. It took place a long time before the first Mortal Kombat game, and I'm pretty sure it was the Kung Lao that is supposed to die at Goro's hands someday. The show was decent, it got better as it went on then they suddenly ended it when it was getting good. Oh, and look at the Shao Khan in that, he actually looked cool unlike Annihilation's. Oh, another thing that really annoyed me in Annihilation was that they actually made Raiden and Shao Khan brothers, and Shinnok was their father. What the hell?! Who's the idiot who wrote that? He needs a boot up the ***.
 8. Mortal Kombat was a good movie, nice and simple. Really close to the actually idea of Mortal Kombat. But Mortal Kombat Annihilation sucked very, very badly. It was terrible. It was directed by a different person, and that's why it was so bad. Not to mention they replaced all of the good actors with sub-par ones. The guy who took up the role of Raiden is cool, and I like him in a lot of other movies, but Christopher Lambert was so much better as Raiden. Then they changed who played Sonya, and Johnny Cage. I liked Bridgette Wilson better than the women from Annihilation, and the same goes for the guy who played Cage. Annihilation was a disaster from the very beginning, from when Shao Khan appeared as a rather small bald human looking being all the way to the end when they had to bring in those lousy Animalities. First they kill Johnny Cage off five minutes into the movie, then they kill off Kabal (My favorite next to Scorpion), and Stryker totally off screen so that they're just mere mentions. It was just all pure crap. If the third Mortal Kombat is being made, they should completely ignore Annihilation, and just do another sequel to the first Mortal Kombat. Bring back all the better actors, and the guy who played Jax since he was practically the only redeeming value in Annihilation. Get some big guy who doesn't jump around to play Shao Khan, give him his real wardrobe not some cheap crap made in a preschool. Also, find a way to resurrect Kano in the movie, and have the same actor play him, because he was awesome. Not to mention they should add more people, with accurate looks, to the character line up. Ugh, there are just so many more things they'd have to do.
 9. I'm going to name my son Stupid, and hope that he is, ironically, a genius. That way when I introduce him I can say "Here is my son, Stupid, he's a genius." Not to mention he could never be offended by someone calling him Stupid since it's his name. I'm going to be a fantastic father!
 10. Wow, no offense, but your father sounds like a real ***. I mean even if he doesn't want to respect your choice of profession, he has to accept it. He can't force you to become an engineer, and sure he might be able to put a little pressure on your dream profession by suspending any funds to pay for the proper training, but if you want it bad enough it'll come to you eventually, you just can't give up, and most of all never give in. What business is it of his what you choose as your profession anyway? Just because he's your father doesn't mean he has the right to tell you what jobs you can, and cannot have. It's not his time, it's yours. You wouldn't be earning him money, you'd be earning yourself money. So what does he care? It all comes down to what you want. Tell him what you're feeling, and if he doesn't understand, then I'd say disown him before he disowns you. Hell, I love my father too, but if he was the same way I'd disown him as well. Also, Cloricus, Harry, it's not your place, nor is it anyone else's, to question his profession of choice. If Turnkey wants to become a game designer, he should. He should do whatever it takes to become one too. Sure, maybe it's not so glamorous, but if it's what he loves then it's what he should do. Turkey, confront your father, tell it like it is, and if he doesn't want to hear it. Tell him you don't want to see him again if all he's going to do is run your life, and make you miserable.
 11. What the hell is this topic for? "I don't like blonde jokes! I'm blonde so it's insulting!" Whoopee f'ing doo! Being blonde is simply a hair color. The jokes, most of them anyway, are stupid, and as stupid as they are being offended by them is even dumber. Most of the jokes are just lame, harmless, stupid little wise cracks. That's it. It's not like you're being insulted for your race, religion, or even a more bothersome physical trait such as being overweight. If someone is making fun of you because you're blonde, then they're obviously just simple minded nimrods with nothing better to say because their puny little minds couldn't come up with something better. Just smile, take pity on their stupidity, and ignore them from then on. That's it. Blonde jokes are chump change in the offensive pool, so get over it.
 12. As usual, Charles, you've managed to write a story so descriptive you can literally picture it in your mind, as if it was really a movie you had seen at some point in your life. However, I had problems picturing it correctly. Not your fault by any means, but what I mean is I had this very clear image of a young beauty, a real women gliding across the room, and eventually into the ladies room. But when the killer appeared, much like you pictured him yourself, I suddenly ended up picturing the killer as an anime character. From there I could only see this anime character interacting with a real women during her last gasps of air. I don't know why exactly I pictured it that way, but perhaps it was because the killer was so animated in the details, yet the women just did the most basic of actions. It's very well written, each word emphasizes a certain wonder to the story, as well as a foreboding darkness. I liked everything about the way it was written, and such. However, I, myself, lacked the ability to comprehend the overall story. But, thankfully for Charles explanation, it's actually hard to believe I didn't catch on. Anyway, fantastic work Charles, another masterpiece in your collection of work.

 14. So to be a "real Otaku" you have to be a huge anime fan? I like few anime series, and what have you, except maybe for Dragon Ball, and a few others I catch on Cartoon Network on the Adult Swim nights. So I guess I'm not a real Otaku. Go figure.
 15. Definitely, Sephiroth's One Winged Angel theme, follewed by Jecht's Otherworld theme. Both are awesome songs, but I still think Sephiroth's is unmatched.
 16. I stopped caring about Christmas a long time ago, it's a pointless holiday to me. It's a day we all give presents to each other for someone else's birthday. Obviously, it's not possible to give a pair of jeans or a DVD player to Jesus, but I just want to know how a big fat man in a red suit whom slides down chimneys to give children presents came to be connected with the birthday of Christ. The most I could come up with is that it represents the wisemen's good will to the baby Jesus when he was conceived. It kinda makes sense in a way, they were all portrayed as white men with big white fluffy beards. Well, it doesn't really matter. I actually like Christmas a little though, for the simple reason that I do like to give gifts to my family, and my friend. However I have to put up with my mother getting mad at me, not literally, for not telling her what I want for Christmas. I don't really want much, but at the most I'll ask for a game and get it over with.
 17. I have finally gotten my hands on Manhunt, and I am very happy with it. Everything they said about the AI, and gameplay is very true. It's actually a very good game, and once you play it you find out very quickly that it's main focus is stealth. If you attempt to stand toe to toe with a gang member you may win, however they usually are a lot tougher than you which is why the stealth is needed. Not only does it immediately make it obvious that stealth is your best bet for survival, but they also show great amounts of the terrific AI in the game as well. If you are spotted, and manage to escape their sights into, oh say a bathroom, the computer will actually check each stall and look around the room pretty thoroughly until he gets tired of looking for you and is convinced you have escaped. Once he turns his back you have to take the opportunity and sneak up on them to perform a stealth kill (holding either Square, or X longer changes the type of kill that is performed). Enemies even get in on the stealth action as they will sometimes hide until you come strolling along, then they'll pop out and attempt to rip you apart. As for the violence, well, there is a lot, no doubt about it. However, it all serves a purpose. It's not just there for the hell of it. The type of game it is, as well as it's plot calls for it's gruesome nature. Sure, they could have done without, but in my opinion it wouldn't have been anywhere as interesting or entertaining. You're a man thrown into a city filled with gangs paid to kill you after a staged lethal injection, you're being used by a man known simply as "The Director" to make his underground snuff films. He delights in watching you kill to survive as he films it all for his audience. He says it's a second chance at life, and if you survive he'll let you go, but the further you progress the more that seems to be a lie. The cursing, the violence, and well all of it's graphic nature help to make it all feel more convincing as well as keep you in suspense. Just imagine some gang member wielding a machete is spewing obscenities as you hide in the darkness only a few feet away, perhaps moments away from being caught, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike while having to remain as silent as possible so you will not be discovered. It's actually quite thrilling in its own way. Cash, your character, obtains an ear piece at the beginning of the game in which the Director speaks to him through. He sometimes gives you advice, or directions to get you going and also eggs you on to murder the scum bag gang members who stalk you. All to fulfill his sick fantasy, and to make the greatest snuff film his audience drools for. Another interesting feature is that the game can utilize the PS2's USB headset. Once it is in, the Director will no longer be heard communicating with you on the screen, but in your own headset. I'm sure it helps to put you into the game more, and if that wasn't good enough the microphone can be used to call out or make what ever noise you like to distract or lure the hunters into your traps. It probably lends a nice helping hand to an all ready great gaming experience, also probably will make it more suspenseful. Just imagine you're only a few inches away from your prey, ready to kill, but just before you can you accidentally sneeze and the microphone picks it up giving you away. It might sound like it would be annoying, but it would make it much more life like since things such as that could happen at anytime in the real world, much like it should be able to in the game. If you can't take gore, or strong language, then I doubt it's for you. But if you can stomach it, I'd say it's at least worth a rental to see how you feel about it first hand rather than decide only by small bits of information. I wouldn't say it's game of the year, but it's still great in my opinion. As for the overall concept pertaining to it's violence, and gore, well, I've honestly seen worse in both movies, and some games. The game actually is more tamed than I expected it to be from what I kept hearing, but then again I might just be used to seeing this type of violence. Manhunt, while very graphic in just about all aspect, is a thrilling game, at least in my opinion, and it's been a long time since I've actually felt that way about any game.
 18.
Originally posted by James I didn't mean that the game was simple; I wasn't referring to mechanics. I was talking about the main character's motivation. I'd basically forgotten all that I'd read about it though, because at least from the information I've heard, it doesn't interest me a great deal. Obviously the game should have an R-rating...I wouldn't oppose that at all. I'd definitely prefer that than seeing it banned. In terms of the game content itself...I do know that it puts a heavy focus on some really hardcore language and violence. And, let's be frank here; that is the selling point. Those elements are what will sell the game -- and, those are also the elements that will make younger gamers want to play it. Still, that isn't something I blame the developer for. They are free to make whatever kind of game they like, provided that the game is appropriately rated and that retailers uphold those ratings. Retailers who sell to underage customers without checking for ID are also part of the problem here.
Oh, yeah, I know what you meant. I didn't mean for that to sound like, well--whatever it sounded like to you. I was basically just explaining it's not just as repetitive as most games are in that particular area. Also, you're right, the selling point is the lanuage and violence. But what I was refering to was that it's not what makes it a good game. From what I heard Rockstar put a great deal of effort into the gameplay to make it a really good game. Basically they worked their butts off on the gameplay just to justify the game's content. Which is much better than having nothing but mindless violence, all though I'm willing to bet there is still some of that in there.
 19. I don't really understand why it needs to be banned. I mean, as James pointed out, adults do make up a large percentage of video game players nowadays. Especially since most of them grew up with games, it's only natural that more mature games be made for a more adult audience. Besides this is exactly why we have the rating system, this is why we have movies with R-ratings, and games with M-ratings. They're there to warn adults of their content, as well as basically let the stores know which games are not meant to be sold to a the younger audience. I guarantee they have worse movies out than this game, and they probably weren't banned. Besides if they don't want kids getting their clutches on these games, then either crack down on the retailers who allow them to be sold to minors, or make sure to get the point across to the parents that these games aren't for the youngsters. Don't just ban them. I mean if they still get them, then it's obviously the blame of the stores or the parent. Besides if the children were sat down and explained the difference of reality and fiction then we'd have less problems with children attempting what they see in both video games and movies. I'm tired of the makers of these games being blamed when it's not their fault at all. I think the whole "the game made me do it" excuse should be taken about as seriously as "the dog told me to do it." For instance, this whole issue about the 12 and 16 year old boys who took two rifles from a locked room in their home, in Newport, Tennessee, and fired over twenty-five .22 caliber bullets off a bridge into traffic on Interstate 40. One women died, and another was left seriously injured. The boys claimed they did it because of the game Grand Theft Auto 3, and in typical form, the media latched onto the video game connection, conveniently ignoring small issues like parental responsibility and questions as to why 12 and 16 year old boys had access to both M-rated games (which are intended for ages 17 and up) and loaded firearms. It's all just ridiculous. Anyway, I was hoping to get this game myself, and I don't think they have plans of banning it here in the States--however nothing is certain as the unreleased game Thrill Kill was banned before it was totally complete. People have said to have been able to get beta copies of the game via the Internet. I know Manhunt has to be more violent than that. Anyway, as for the game's plot. The main character is James Earl Cash, and he is forced against his will to fulfill the sadistic fantasies of a man called the Director. The Director has put a bounty on your head, and the gangs of murderers will do anything to collect it. Basically it's kill, or be killed. Anyway, it's not as simple as just killing gang members. You have to sneak around, a Metal Gear styled stealth, and try to avoid conflicts with these madmen, well at least from the front. You must use stealth to sneak up on your prey, and kill them in different gruesome fashions. However, the AI is supposed to be very intelligent, and make the game a huge challenge. Also levels aren't all the same, in some you have to actually rescue hostages as well as other things. It's supposed to actually be a very good game, and it doesn't just use the overwhelming blood and gore to sell it. It's supposed to have really good controls, terrific gameplay, amazing audio, and some of the best AI around.
 20.
Originally posted by cloricus TVE what's with the personal attacks today?
I apologize, I just haven't been in a good mood lately and I ended up bringing it to the boards.
To retain power you must, in a dictator situation, instil fear in people and destroy groups that revolt. It was not done "just for the hell of it" but for the purpose of holding onto power.
Yes, that is ture, but still he would have more loyalty if he didn't do the things that he has done to his people. Instead of his people cheering his capture, they probably would have been more willing to help him.
How?
Well, I just think it's a cowardly thing to do. To murder an innocent person to scare the rest of them so he can treat them like a flock of sheep.
What did you expect him to say? "Oh jolly good show my forces are putting up, fighting you old chaps but once I'm found I'm just going to give myself over to get my arse kicked." That is just moral boosting sort of talk, and chances are he was feed that stuff by advisors. As Samedi has pointed out he wasn't in a position to fight and even now he is more important alive than dead for the forces fighting for him, it could have been strategic, logical or he just didn't have a gun handy. You don't know the situation so you cannot call him a coward.
Well, that is true. He could have just been reading what his advisors wrote. It's an attempt to rise moral, but at the same time it's not doing him much good having the reputation he has with his people. I still consider him a coward for murdering his people, and if he was thinking moral this type of action wasn't going to help. Maybe motivate them not to fail though.
I am to, now hopefully the Iraqis can give him a fair and just trial. (Though I wouldn't support the death penalty as a result of any ruling.)
Well, I think the Iraqis should definitely get Saddam for trial, but I don't know if they'd give him a fair and just trail. I mean, they are fully capable of it, but with all of the pain and suffering he's caused them, I wouldn't be surprised if they did give him the death penalty. I wouldn't have a problem with that, but then again that's just my opinion.
Without a stable controlling force the country would collapse, they don't even have electricity. Pulling out ASAP is not a good thing when the country can't sustain its self yet. They need to stay until the job is done.
I didn't think of that. You're right. But hopefully we won't have to hear about anymore blood shed, but that's probably asking for too much.
It was one of the first if I remember the CNN report at the time, thing is he was moving around the whole time. The reason they caught him this time (according to the NBS stream) was because he used the same taxi car and driver for a prolonged time and some Kurds noticed and tipped off the army.
Ah, I see. Well, that would explain it. But I just wonder how he was able to travel around without being discovered. I figured there was soldiers positioned at the exits to town, but most likely there are more than the most obvious way to get out of the city.
Originally posted by Harry He was hiding in a whole under a random shack in the woods, it wasn't that obvious you know.
Yeah, but I was talking about his home town in general.
 21.
Originally posted by Baron Samedi Actually, you're wrong there TVE. He wasn't in Tukrit, he was in an isolated farmhouse near Tukrit. He was in a secret room therein, which they found by a breathing pipe and exhaust fan. In there, he was hiding in a spiderhole, which is basically a readymade coffin. 6 feet deep, long enought to lay down in and covered over. He wasn't in any damn position to attack, he was unarmed, lying on the ground. What the hell was he supposed to do, hey?
Well, all I've been hearing from reporters is "Saddam has finally been captured, he was hiding in a basement of a home." I didn't hear about it being outside of his home town, but either way it's still in the general area. As for what he was supposed to do, well...nothing. I didn't expect him to do anything, but the thing I'm taking about is that the man sat at his little desk telling the world he would die before he'd be captured. Sure, he wouldn't have been able to fight back all that much, but you know had the opportunity to do something to one of them. Like I said, I didn't expect him to do anything, but it just shows that he's just all talk when he's not actually in the situation. But I agree that the Iraqis should get him to put on trial. They had the suffer because of him, so it's their every right to decide his fate.
 22.
Originally posted by cloricus Who's police? Anyway the internet is free to every thing, that?s the whole point of it; and so you have to take the good with the bad or not use it at all. Simple.
You post simply for the sake of making more posts for yourself, and this proves it. You didn't post to make a point, nor did you post to make intelligent conversation. You just posted random nonsense that had nothing to do with anything. Asura said "My opinion is that these sort of brainwashing websites should be banned or at least make it illegal so that police are in full control." Which means police as a whole, she didn't say anything about a certain regions police. She just said police. That's all. So there was no need for most of your post. However, I agree with your second part. The Internet is everyone's, it does not belong to just one country, person, or company. It's everyone's. So people have to take the good with the bad, and you are right. I agree fully. I'm sorry if you don't like it, but it's their right to freedom of speech as well as religion. There is nothing that can be done about it, unless well they actually do something that may be illegal like that whole tampering with candy wrappers thing.

But it may be useful to other users. 16) When we offer a next generation version of OtakuBoards, should we continue to provide semi-regular community events in our Event Arena or a similar forum? Yes, they help keep things fresh, and also brings members together to have fun and interact more. It's a great idea. 17) If you could add one new Category (Category, not Forum) to OtakuBoards, what would it be? Eh, nothing really that I can think of. 18) If you could remove one Category from OtakuBoards, what would it be? I think the Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo forums should be combined. They are pretty slow as of late, and having three slow game forums seems kinda pointless. Just put them together and call it "Console Gaming." But leave the computer forum up, in case people need technical help and such. 19) If you could add anything to OtakuBoards (in terms of a new forum, a technical tool/feature, etc), what would it be? I have nothing in mind right now. 20) On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest), how would you rate your experience at OtakuBoards since you registered? 8
 24. Clorius, seems to like misinterpreting people's posts. Not to mention talk about things he/she knows nothing of by defending Saddam when James said "Predictably cowardly." The man murdered, and tortured his own people. Call me crazy, but I don't like sadistic dictators who murder and tortures his own people just for the hell of it. That alone makes him a coward, so by going against his "I won't be taken alive" speeches, he proves he's just a lying coward who suffers from diarrhea of the mouth. Anyway, I'm just glad they caught him. Perhaps now, the people of Iraq can live life without fear of Saddam. The US just needs to pull the troops out when they get the chance, because as long as the troops are there the people won't be able to have a normal life without fearing their so called leader. Oh, and one more thing I was wondering...what the hell took them so long? Did they have to fight their way into the town or something? I mean it was Saddam's home town, shouldn't that have been the first place they looked? I mean it's just common sense really. Ah, but what do I know. They probably had other things to deal with at the time.
 25.
Originally posted by Baron Samedi Juries can be mislead, evidence can be wrong or botched, innocent people may have no alibi. Yet you say they are guilty? That seems like crap to me. "Well, in cases like those I'd just say that there must be enough evidence to prove that person's guilt before they could be put to death". Just because there is enough evidence to convict them, does not mean they are guilty. Do you think the death penalty is taken lightly? It isn't... it is a very well thought over sentence. Only when a person is convicted beyond all doubt is it employed. However, **** happens. Check my other posts for details on innocent murders. Take for example, a famous case. The Chamberlain case. To cut a long story short, they were convicted for murder. A few years later she was released- new evidence came up, and it appears that the whole trial was a big mess. It was hopelessly botched and biased.
Well, yes, you are correct, but I'm not talking about "look at this evidence" then zap them in the chair. I'm talking about long investigations, and so on and so forth to make absolutely sure they've got the right person, but I guess I was being too vague. Still though, as barbaric as the death penalty seems, it's necessary. If you catch a murder, and simply put him away for a little time when he is finally released, if they are released, they would most likely go back to killing. Well, if they were the serial killer type anyway. You don't want that back out on the street do you? No, no one does. And if you just left them to rot in a cell, they'd just be taking up tax payers money for murdering people. Getting free food, free shelter, free TV, or whatever else they are given in there. That's not right. But anyway, that's my opinion. I'm sure other find it to be a fine set up.
Your post also said that if a drunk/stoned person kills another in their car, they should be killed. That isn't entirely fair. Perhaps a 40 year jail term, but take their life for an accident? Man, thats harsh.
Now, as for this. Well, no, it's not really harsh. I mean they should know what they might be getting themselves into by getting drunk/high before going out on a joy ride, or what have you. They knowingly put everyone in danger, and for that they deserve the death penalty. Maybe I am being a bit too harsh, but hey, that I was really believe. They know they could kill someone, but still do it. So that is what they deserve.
