It's so incredibly annoying that 16 and 18 don't just fly away when Tien is using up all his energy to stall Cell. Freaking androids.

In the days of the Troll orphan jokes would be all over the place. Batman=Orphan jokes are still fairly funny if you don't allow yourself to be offended by it. I'm funnier though.

So, at the end of the school year I will have to head out to an English speaking country (any country where they speak a properly accepted version of English), where I will have to spend a minimum of 20 hours a week performing Arbeit and I am not yet certain what country that will be. I am mainly thinking of Ireland, but Australia or New Zealand could be a jest as well. Even America is on my list. Actually, I'm leaving everything open. Any bright ideas? Free bed and job vacancy left even? Ha. On second thought, maybe I'd better not try America, to avoid ridiculous visum bureaucracy. Also for topic's sake: Have you ever spent more than an average holiday-length visit in a foreign country, and why?

Journalists are supposed to police to governments. The media are supposed to be there to keep the government in check.

I'm just happy we don't have such a 50/50 government, so these things don't occur on such an incredible us vs. them scale. It's basically the more social bunch versus the liberals with the Christian Democrats staying more or less in the middle of things to not piss off either side. Not saying the media are un-biased, but at least the supposed formula CaNz brought up wouldn't be the case.
This last week I've mostly been listening to "The Tallest Man on Earth". http://www.youtube.c...h?v=eYVnRyZWs70 How would you describe this? Folksy, I guess. My sister likens his voice to that of Bob Dylan; I see where she's coming from.
You can't imagine how often I've played his albums. They're great.

... Huh? Corrupt media? Must be an American thing. :S
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but who's the target audience?
The target audience would first of all be the Otakuites around the network, because I personally think it would just be fun to have a podcast to listen to full of nonsense and OB stuff. It would be sweet however if such a Podcast could be made interesting enough for people who bumped into OB, so that they decide to stay at, or are even drawn to OtakuBoards. So, mostly for that point, the balance between general fun and inside jokes should be kept. I mostly don't even get the inside ones myself. Where on Earth did the evil Walmart thing come from? Also: yay for Kei! (rhymes too, get it?) You're now officially on board with no back down option.

I just finished the first two Harry Potter books in the past days. I think I'll have to read the rest too.

So. Probably 3 years ago I figured a lot of the repeated questions could all fit into one thread. And then I figured I might as well start that thread. Thus, I present to you: THE ULTIMATE OTAKUBOARDS PROFILE! I just decided to wait a bit because of the OtakuBoards TimeCapsule event that looked slightly like this, but here it is anyway! The point is that you can answer all the ridiculous standard questions here that you'd otherwise would have to reply to each separate opinion/religion/history/OB Family/etc. thread! Tell me what important stuff I missed and I'll edit this opening post. I took the liberty of filling in the answers to some of the more obvious questions. There's just obviously enough in the Americas who wanted to stride forth as paladins and save the world from its own doom.
Few reasons:

Misguided patriotism â?? People don't like change. Plain and simple. Southern Baptists are notorious for this trait; trust me, I'm Baptist and live in the South so I sort of can't escape them. =P I've seen church bodies shredded by internal strife over disagreements, ranging from serious doctrinal interpretations to whether there's a barrier in front of the choir loft. It's nuts.

Haters gonna hate â?? I shouldn't have to explain this on

You're missing "because they think it's wrong, so they want to prevent it." If you're convinced of something being a sin, the just thing to do would be to prevent it from happening. If you knew someone was going to murder another person and you're able to prevent it by some means, wouldn't you do so? Still, yay that California finally caught up.

I actually didn't have anything with podcasts until a teacher mentioned his two great hobbies in lives are trees and podcasts, and sometime later a friend suggested a specific podcast. The podcast being: WYNC's Radio Lab, which is one of the greatest things in the whole wide world. Seriously. It improves your life just listening to it. Another podcast I've been listening to a lot for some time was the Sarcastic Gamer podcast, which was fun and games (ha, pun) though it lost my attention after some time. I wasn't up to date enough with gaming to keep up with whatever they talked about.
