1. Just want to say that I'm glad to see that this show is now officially well on the road. And with that I also want to repeat Allomorph by encouraging any member of the community to vote for their favourite banner! Plus, I'm pretty excited about seeing the prizes, so do your best everyone. :whoops:
2.
1. Learn principles of design 2. Use better fonts 3. Add effects At least you're making an effort to make banners, that's a step in the right direction. I'd advise you spend a lot of time browsing tutorials for GIMP and also learn about typography and composition, and color theory and whatnot. Good luck to you.
Jeremy, please take another look at the Art Studio Basics. You've been around long enough to know that you should at least explain what your criticism is aiming at or is based on. Then the artist can actually put the criticism to good use, you don't look like you're being an arse and we have a nice and friendly atmosphere to post your art in. Thank you very much, Boo
3.
No point really.^^
How about: Epic fun, epic laughter, epic schadenfreude, et cetera? Killing your companions is epic fun. At least it was on Four Swords.
4. I smell that it's finally time to buy a Nintendo DS. ... After checking the Square site and finding out about Tactics A2 right after Chrono Trigger... I... I think I need to go to the bathroom.
5. I don't do weird stuff when I'm under influence of anything. Sorry to disappoint you. :(
6. You kids who think that tea stinks have noooo idea whatsoever what tea is, because it just so happens to be that tea smells darn good. I drink teas as often as I can, varying incredibly much. At the moment we have some "Tropical Fruits" and "Peach... 'n' stuff" from Lipton that I like a lot. Though, normally I go for orange tea, or liquorice tea, or "winter tea", or "goodnight tea", or ordinary Earl Grey tea, or green tea sometimes, or rooibos when I'm at my girlfriend's - where I also have "Früh dich tee" occasionally and and... Well, basically I drink a lot of teas. Nowadays only sugar gets into my cup (two lumps/cubes of sugar, most of the time), but I used to add milk to it. However, as nice as it is to add milk, often it covers some of the taste. :( People, drink more tea. Not just Starbucks tea, but actual 'ordinary' tea. I'd send teabags to you if necessary.
7.
The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled: Amazing animation, not-so-amazing storytelling. But the animation=two thumbs up.
When I first saw the Thief and the Cobbler I was so amazed, but I couldn't find out more about the movie anymore. I'm so happy I saw this post.
8. ... Who's that Debresko or something you're talking about?
9. [kuja]i miss teh n00b loung. :bawl:[/kuja] I think I miss a whole bunch of members anyway and I won't even start to mention them. Plus, I miss a lot of the art studio's past artists and activity.
10. I drive people (including neighbours and people three blocks away from our house) insane with my funky guitar and bass magic. I wish I was ordered to play an instrument though. Like piano. I want to play piano. Or violin, flute or double bass. Or saxophone. Rathest all of them. :(
11.
Love is yelling at your little brother all day, and then having his back as soon as someone else picks on him. Love is when you argue with your parents, run away from home, and they come looking for you despite your insanity. Love is forgiving in the face of reason, wishing well for someone no matter what they feel about you, sacrificing your personal comfort for them, telling a hard truth, etc.
Ditto used "Quoted for Truth" on Retribution!
12. The Dwemer Puzzle Box is indeed incredibly hard to find. I think they eventually made a patch that replaced the Puzzle Box to a shelf near the entrance. But ehm, the normal way to get it is described by GameBanshee like this:
For the Dwemer Puzzle Box, you'll want to hang a u-turn at the bottom of the ramp in the first large room and find another narrow cavern path close by that leads up to the second level of the largish room that has the three doors. The ramp is a little inconspicuous to find since it looks like a normal rock formation. But yes, you're supposed to walk up it. Once up on the level, go through the only door, defeat your only opponent (who can be a little tough for a level 1 or 2 character so be prepared), and grab the Dwemer Puzzle Box on the shelf to your left. It's small.
Or if you're playing it on a PC, you can go the easy way and just pop up your console with '~' and type Open the console ~ and type: player->AddItem "misc_dwrv_ark_cube00" 1. Which is what I did myself, because I didn't want to be bothered with trying to find miniscule objects.
13. And for these kinds of threads I think we have the Manga Alley forum! So I'll move the thread there. If you have any further questions, feel free to PM me. :)
14. Being the only active member of a forum and being the only member at all who'd be willing to spend his time on sorting the Graphic Worm thread, that all helps a lot too. But... What's this free will idea you speak of?
Didn't you all just wake up with ball and chains in a creepy dungeon with only a computer?..
We get a neat title. ^__^
15. If there's an alternative or any way to fix it, you will want to learn about it and use the information when you tell your parents about failing the original course. You might want to say that you failed it only one time and then repeat the solution a few times, in case they are deaf for anything except "I failed :bawl:" for a while. If there's nothing you can do about it anymore, just tell them without the information. I wonder how much more pleasant they'll be if they find out about it a whole lot later.
16. THE NEW ZUTONS ALBUM "YOU CAN DO ANYTHING" And enjoying it very much mind you. :)
17.
And honestly, if someone stops caring about their schoolwork because they wanted to try weed, that’s their problem. Just as it’s the student’s own problem if they become an alcoholic and neglect schoolwork, the state should not have to look out for all our poor decisions and personal mistakes. Advocate responsibility and moderation, not bans and censorship for “the greater good.”
Yes, advocate responsibility, but don't let it be their own problem. It's also the job of the state to have as many people as possible functional in society. Someone who gets in trouble with drinking or drugs only ends up costing money and being useless for a big deal. So stating that "that's their problem" is not correct in anyway, but a ridiculous one.
18. Them crazy christians that definatelly need to evolve and grow a mind.
19. Strangely I'm sure that I've seen this feature before, though I think it was an older version of vB, like 4 years ago... Hm... Don't worry, my memory might fail. Must be all the hallucinating smell in the Netherlands.
20. Oh this is the point where I jump in and say something like: "What are you talking about? Marijuana is already legal." and a few OtakuBoarders make a "Dutchman..." remark and I'll be able to live on happily until a next marijuana or prostitution thread. But really, pot stinks like hell. I should know, it's one of the most common odors here. Heck, in Amsterdam you smell it with every step you take. High (or stoned) people have been less of a burden to me than drunk people though. I lose a lot of sympathy for people who drink to get drunk. Influence of any kind might improve your personal experience, but it ruins the group experience. Don't do drugs, kids. It's only cool while it's illegal.
21. I'm one of those people that considers it as one of the best games ever and I haven't even finished it. The thing with Final Fantasy VII however, is that it is just that cool. Playing it feels cool. Partly because it was indeed one of the first RPGs I played, and I didn't even own it when I played it. Plus, it was like this 3D system thing that I had never played before on such a cool level. And Cloud was so cool when I was 10, where as Squall only was cool like twice in the whole game. The best Final Fantasy is in my opinion number VI, though. The story was cool and the battles were cooler than Final Fantasy IV, which also was one of the cooler Final Fantasy games, but it was bloody annoying with the many encounters that kicked my butt hole if I didn't heal a lot, which is something I hate doing, but it being incredibly necessary, I had no choice. So, Final Fantasy VI > all other Final Fantasies. Chrono Trigger is one of the better RPGs of all time, though. Secret of Mana also belongs in that list. Oh, and some Lufia and Breath of Fire could be added... Hm. Anyway, they're probably all not RPG enough for Matt, but they are, sorry to tell you, labeled RPGs, so yeah. And with Planescape Torment being a game that couldn't keep me interested for very long - a big reason would be the odd graphics, I can very much imagine why Final Fantasy VII is a bigger hype. ... The game stopped working on my computer however. My windows edition keeps getting stuck in the Gondola with Aeris (yes I spell her name with an 's')/Tifa. :( I've downloaded this crack that can help you get passed the point, but it's all Japanese and all, so it isn't easy to use.
One thing I'm curious about is to wonder why you care if people like the rpg? Or why it would matter if they did do a re-make? If someone enjoys a game, whether or not you think the story is lacking is irrelevant. It's the person playing it who matters. If they enjoy it, good for them. For the record, I don't think it's the greatest game ever, but I did enjoy playing it, flaws and all. And I for one would find a re-make interesting and would probably play it, just for old times sake.
People do that. I tend to fuss about things that aren't directly my business either. It's bits of human interest, combined with common curiosity, combined with lack of understanding and probably more. Or it's something else. All in all, don't react to it too much as if he should not be bothered with it so much, because sometimes it's nice to bother yourself with things that actually aren't so important. Besides, I think the guy has an incredible issue with Final Fantasy VII and it's hype. edit: Missed the VII. :P
22.
Hi, haku877, If you want to request a banner or avatar, please make your own separate thread for it. It's not allowed on OtakuBoards to use/hi-jack other people's threads to request art for yourself. If you have anymore questions, you can always PM me or any other moderator. - Boo
23. Norway just lost even more cool points.

25.
Boo, I was hoping we could start a SOTW, we could start with voting what the theme would be? I'd love to know what your ideas for a SOTW are so far. ;D!
Sorry, I've been a bit busy but I'll get back to this asap. For the next 24 hours I'm hardly at a computer with any opportunity to work on the SOTW idea. Will be working (ironically infront of a computer, but I can't do anything except my work with it) from six in the morning until three in the afternoon and then from six to nine I'll be practicing with my band, so yeah. *yawn* So far I've been tinkering with the idea of handicaps like in earlier handicap things. Size restrictions and themes, but maybe also colour, font, layer and such restrictions. Maybe that goes a bit far though. Anyway, if anybody has theme ideas, just shout. I will make a little list here to start with: Money Love (Relationship) - Love (Friendship / Brothers / Sisters / Family) War Freedom Culture / Specific culture Stereotypes Future Power Nature / Specific animal Music / Specific genre
