Other than the joint part, I agree.
Well, suggestions are always welcome.

I've been thinking about something that might improve how people think of OtakuBoards, in particular the Otaku Lounge... Right now the Otaku Lounge description is the following:
Take a seat, a warm cup of coffee and discuss off-topic stuff right here. Remember to keep to the rules.
First of all, not many people browse the internet standing, before looking at the description of this board, so what's up with the take a seat part? Secondly, coffee? Heck, I don't even like coffee myself. Besides, it's symbol for something you drink because you need to stay awake. Is the Otaku Lounge that dull? Does it get even more dull than the Art Studio in it's current state? I'd much rather have a cup of hot chocolate, a mug of ale or a pint or whatever, mind you. Thirdly, the keep to the rules part makes no sense and only seems strict and uptight. It's obvious that you should stick to the rules, anyway, and the sticky makes it more obvious. Therefore, I'd like to suggest to change it to something along lines of the following:
Kick back, have a joint and discuss off-topic stuff right here.
It's a lot more inviting and seems a lot more relaxed. Perhaps it's another thing on the way that could help OB loose that "uptight" image that seems to be brought up every now and then.

lol, Jake, u r funni. :) Okay, that was good fun, but now back to the people who can really play guitar.
Omar Rodriguez-Lopez is the best guitarist evar.
Thanks, I forgot to add him.

I've got nicknames for almost everyone who ever set their digital foot in the Art Studio, and they know it. Take Orange, Gurt, Larb, Queen Altronidala (though I only used it once...) and Tiger for example. Now you tell me who they are. As for nicknames for people that are actually around me, I made up the nicname Sponge for a guy in my class three years ago and almost the whole school ended up using it when talking to or about him. He looked like the sponge from goose bumps, though I don't know if anyone knew the backstory to his name. I also named a good friend of mine Vorkje, which she used as her MSN name for quite some time (she's also in my phone under that name). And well... a friend of mine whose name is Dennis and I ended up naming him Danish Icecream which he uses a lot since then. I don't think he'll admit that I made it up, though, haha. Ehm, but nicknames I've gotten myself... Some people actually call me Boo offline too, though not too often. Lately I've been called Borre quite a lot by my bandmates. In the past I've been called "Chao Zu" or something (the Dragonball Z character?) because I have a beauty mark on both my cheeks.
Goodness, what starbucks does everyone go to?
The best Caramel Hot Chocolate I've had so far was from London, Westminister (West End), right before I went to see Avenue Q in the Noël Coward theatre. The Starbucks in the same lane as the theatre: St Martin's Lane. You walk in to find a cosy, not-so-busy Starbucks. You walk to the counter and order the largest Caramel Hot Chocolate they have (tall or grande isn't enough - hot chocolate's taste increases with the size of the mug, true facts) with whipped cream (and a muffin, 'f course). You pay the person behind the counter a ridiculous sum of money, probably, but after that you can get your Caramel Hot Chocolate and it's by far the best hot chocolate you have ever had. Besides, London is perfect for hot chocolate as it's always wet and rainy. Hm, can somebody explain me what's up with the marshmallow thing? Never tried it out yet. What does a marshmallow do to alter your divine experience? :(

Welcome to the amazing Hot Chocolate! thread! Here we talk all about Hot Chocolate! Yay! The reason for this thread is that hot chocolate is just amazing. Since I've bought a Starbucks mug in London, I had the strong desire to drink at least one mug of hot chocolate every day - which is actually happening since I bought a supply of hot chocolate powder a few days ago. It's just the kind of powder that you have to mix with water, but I'm making up all kinds of things to increase it's taste. So far my favourite self-made mug of hot chocolate was made like this: You put the powder in the awesome Starbucks mug. You pour a little bit of milk in it and a bit of whipped cream. Add cinnamon and rum. Stur the mix until the lumps are out. Now add hot water. Tadah! Awesome hot chocolate. Though, it's also awesome with maple syrup or honey. Soon I'll teach myself how to make hot chocolate with real cacao and milk, because that's still a bit more classy than the powder with water stuff. But well, I haven't been able to compete with the Starbucks Caramel Hot Chocolate or the Hazelnut Hot Chocolate. Those are divine. So, start talking about hot chocolate! Any recipes you care to share or anything? What was your favourite? With or without whipped cream? Bad experiences with hot chocolate? Rare hot chocolate artifact findings? Anything, because it's the Hot Chocolate! thread!
Depending on the severity of my work load from high school, I may pick up Eye of the North next Friday. I've not done any research on it, but is GW:EN mostly for high level characters, or is anyone else going to go with a new character off the bat ?
In fact, it's only for level 20 characters, if I recall correctly. :p

They're only the best band ever. Their albums A Night At The Opera and Innuendo are my favourite albums of all time. They're extremely well balanced and just have some amazing songs on them. Plus, Innuendo has the best song in the whole world on it: The Show Must Go On. It's amazing how Freddy Mercury knew he was dying in a rather short time and still managed to use the emotions he felt at that moment to create such a masterpiece. There isn't any better song in the world - Heck, in the whole universe. Ahem, anyway. Bohemian Rhapsody, yes of course. It is wonderful, though at one point it started to bore me slightly. But after hearing it another hundred times after that, I love it more than ever. It's not the best song they have made, but it certainly is great and it exceeded any other song in the world in controlled originality. Moo.
Michael Angelo Batio The video speaks for itself http://youtube.com/watch?v=hb5QaCfm7bg&mode=related&search= I mean seriously just wow. Well, I wouldn't say his music is the best but in terms of skill I think he is unmatched.
Hm, it has no feel to it whatsoever. For all I see he's spent too much time in his life trying to master speedpicking with silly handtricks to it - leaving the actual music to rot somewhere, which is how it sounds too. Plus, the guitars he uses overall are dead ugly. But well, he has better control over his guitar than I have, he can take that to the bank.

Ehm... No... If they'd treat me like a last resort, I wouldn't be their friend, now would I?

Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Otakus and normal people! It is the time that you've all been waiting for. It is time to put your creativity and insight to the test once more. It is time for another Image Challenge! The Image Challenge! of two years ago was started by our very own Retribution and can be found here: Image Challenge!. The idea was simple. Each person posts parameters for the next person to work with: a word or phrase and a colour scheme. The next person posts a picture based on those parameters and then gives their own parameters for the following person. You can take a look in the original thread for examples. This year we'll do it slightly different. As the Handicap Battles competition won't be held this time around, or at least not very soon, we'll just blend the two together. Welcome to Image Challenge 2007: Handicaps Galore! So, what do you do? It's almost as simple as the Image Challenge, but varies a bit more creativity. Each person gives the next person THREE (3) 'handicaps' that they have to work with. These can vary between size limitations (for example: 150×500 pixels), colour schemes (for example: only reds), certain themes (for example: a summer theme), text that has to be on it, a picture that has to be in it and a lot more things - you name it! (Just keep it within reason, thank you very much) This thread uses the claiming system. So when someone posts a set of handicaps, you can claim the next post, so that two people won't be working on the same handicaps at the same time. However, there's a time limit to it. You have to post the picture within 24 hours. If you don't post within the time limit, your claim to the next post will be ignored and the next person can post. Now then, I hope it is clear enough. I probably typed a lot more than necessary, but moo. If there are any questions, feel free to ask them (preferably via PM, or this thread might get messy). Here we go! First person gets to work with these handicaps (let's start off simple):

Theme: Autumn/Fall
Size restrictions: 250×400
Font to use: Century Gothic
Enjoy!

That list makes no sense at all. Why is Kurt Cobain on 12, for example? My alltime favourite guitarist is Mark Knopfler, lead singer and guitarist of the Dire Straits. His fingerpicking style is great and original. His fills and everything are amazing. I want his skills. Moo. Other guitarists who I adore are Brian May, Tom Morello, Matthew Bellamy, John Frusciante, David Gilmour, Paul Simon and Peter Green. Tom Morello is already partly explained earlier in the thread, plus I saw him with my own eyes solo with his semi-acoustic guitar and even without his special effects he's great. John Frusciante is the kind of guitarist who is one with his instrument. Guitars are part of him, or he's part of guitars, I'm not sure, but they belong together like cinnamon and sugar. David Gilmour: Pulse, live recording. Comfortably Numb. I've grown up with Brian May and his guitarsound is so distinctive and inventive and everything, it's awesome. Peter Green: Fleetwood Mac - Oh Well. Nuff said. And well, Matthew Bellamy has awesome riffs, and he's definatelly one of the better "younger" guitarists around lately. And then there's Paul Simon who I adore. He isn't exactly the greatest rock guitarist or anything ever, but he really owns his guitar and knows exactly what he's doing. He's most likely my favourite acoustic guitarist. His way of playing the guitar is about the same as playing a piano, it's amazing. I love Paul Simon's skills. *tear* There, that's my guitarists list. I'd have to add Flea, John Deacon and several other bassists if I would count bassists along, but it'd take too long.

I share my birthday with Cloricus, I think (though he's no longer on the calendar on that day). :] Apart from them, I share my birthday with Thom Yorke, the singer from Radiohead. And in my list are a whole load of footballers, there's some New Zealandish actress who plays in Xena and Hercules, a Eurovision Song Contest 1999 winner from Sweden, Yo-Yo Ma - the cellist, Kyosuke Himuro (Boøwy) of whom a song is used as the theme of Advent Children, Tico Torres the drummer of Bon Jovi (ew.), the future voice actor of Harry in the upcoming Spiderman TV-show and... PUTIN. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Ha. Oh, and the DDR was also born on the seventh of Octobre. I've the same first name as Yeltsin and am born on the same day as Putin and the DDR. Ooooo. Next thing you know, I'll be planting flags miles deep in the ocean to claim land.

There once was a man who was increadibly rich, had a beautiful wife, and a newborn son. On the son's third birthday the dad asked. 'son, what do you want for your birthday? You want a tricycle, a playmat, anything?' The kid replied 'dad I'd like a pink ping-pong ball.' The dad thought 'oh he's just a kid he doesn't know what he wants' so he bought him a tricycle and some toys. On the kids twelfth birthday the dad asked 'son, what would you like for your birthday? A four-wheeler, a ten speed, anything?' The kid replied 'dad, I'd really like a pink ping-pong ball.' The dad thought 'oh, he's just messing around,' so he bought him a nice bike and an iPod. On the kid's sixteenth birthday the dad asked 'son, what would you like for your birthday? A nice car, a speaker system, anything?' The kid replied 'dad, I would really like a pink ping-pong ball.' The dad thought 'he must be out of his mind,' so he bought him a brand new 2007 Jeep. When the kid graduated from high school his dad said "son, I'm so proud of you. Is there anything you want? A new place, a condo, anything?" The son replied "dad I's really like a pink ping-pong ball" his dad thought 'oh, hes just messin with me' and hooked him up with a nice apartment and filled it with furniture. 6 years later, the son was married and his first child was on the way. The dad said, 'son, I'm so happy for you, what do you say you move into a mansion across the street from us?' The son replied 'actually, dad, I would really like a pink ping-pong ball.' His dad thought 'aw, hes nuts,' and threw in a couple extra achres for the heck of it. Then one day, the father heard that his son had been in a terrible car accident. He rushed to the hospital and saw his son hooked up to all kinds of medical devices. He held his son and said, 'son, please is there anything you want, anything in the whole world?' The son replied 'I would really like a pink ping-pong ball.' The father said, 'okay, but I've gotta know why, for your entire life you've asked for this pink ping-pong ball, why?' His son opened his mouth to speak, but died. The moral? That was boring as crap. Moo.
What?!? No competition? No laughing behind the loser's back? No chance of a devastating loss that will trigger a sudden drop in self-esteem?
It'll be a loss to the community, but just think of what we could gain! I had a dream! A dream in which the Art Studio we live in was once again a major centre of creativity in many forms. A community wealthy and busy, a place to go when you can't go anywhere else! A community where PSers and PSPers can live together without conflict! A community where pre-made brushes are accepted as much as social or creative handicaps would be accepted! Besides, it would be a nice way to train people for the actual next best Handicap [strike]torment[/strike] tournament. But well, as I see, it's a fine enough plan, so I guess I'll try to get this show on the road. Unless someone else wants to take the plan off my hands, because otherwise I might have to keep you all waiting for almost a week. Boohoo.

If you don't mind, I'll just bring this thread up again to use it as the Art Studio suggestions thread. I was just browsing through my OtakuBoards art collection and came across some images that were loads of fun to make, made for a thread that was a lot of fun. The thread I'm talking about is Image Challenge!. It was a fun thread, so I wonder if people would be interested in a new version of it. If so, would it need any updates from it's original rules or something? The last one died in time, probably because the ideas became repetitive. So as a suggestion... instead of the Handicap Battles, we could continue on with Handicap ideas, except you make up your own handicap for the next person each time you post. To keep the Art Studio people sharp and all, but without competing really. ^ New subject of discussion, yay.
Are these just random people? If so, you better have a permit, or were you being ninja? But yeah, they were people I knew, sort of. Great to read that you like my work so far (spx, first time I've posted any photography, I think, so don't worry :P). I'll just add another photo to the thread (thumbnails rock, this one is rather large to remain it's details) as it's the only one I can reach from this computer. I'll try to get more up when I can. Out Of Reach It's with barbed wire, so not as much a challenge as capturing a human being, but now I could fully concentrate on a good photo focus and everything. Think it worked out well, with the central barb having the full focus. Ah well, here's a slightly odd one I recently made, though I was still working on it when I decided to just post it and quit for today: My Marks My hand, obviously. I'm currently listening to a few songs by the band AER, on repeat. To be more precise:

Nobody To Believe In
To Die For
A Silent Tragedy
Let Down Everyone
Ending This Chapter
Angel
We're Only Human
Great stuff, really. Greatest thing, is that it's by the band I'm playing in. Ha. Didn't see that one coming, did you? I play the bass mostly, though I might have to play the keys, backing guitar and some vocals too. Most of the songs right now are written by the lead guitarist/current singer. He'll be amongst the best guitarists in no time at all, mark my words. My favourite songs of this selection are probably A Silent Tragedy and Let Down Everyone. The former has an incredibly great guitar solo at the end that almost made a tear pop in my eye. The latter is just really solid and everything. The sort of music I'd like to bounce and everything to at festivals. :]

Whoopdeedoo, something will soon be on the market for cheapskates like myself, who would still like to have a notebook kind of thing with them where they can do simple computer-ish things. The ASUS Eee PC. Here's an article on it, based on a preview: Hot Hardware Now, yeah. I'm very excited about this notebook. I'm too much of a calvinist to spend my money on a big flaptop that I plan on only using as a notebook or to perform simple things, like looking something up on the internet. To play videogames or watch movies, I have a big (read: BIG) computer at home and playing with one of those things where you have to use a pen to type and all... stinks. So, yay. A notebook, priced $199 (4GB) or $299 (8GB). And then there's also a 16GB version, so I've read, but I couldn't find it real quickly. Guess what? Yay for ASUS! There, I've made a thread about it. Is anyone else excited about this? Or any other opinions or whatever?

Haha, I was in London last week and while making my way to the Noel Coward theatre, where Avenue Q is playing, I came across a huge mob of people. It was pretty annoying as they were blocking my way, but after a while it seemed to be the mob awaiting Matt Damon for the pre-premiere of The Bourne Ultimatum. Now, I have seen Matt Damon (and Julia Stiles) live and I can say "ha, I've been to the pre-premiere of The Bourne Ultimatum" even though I haven't actually seen it. Heck, I haven't even seen The Bourne Supremacy yet. Should do so, though. Oh, and if I waited a bit longer, I would've seen some of the cast of Harry Potter. Making photos was tough, though. Moving people, cloudy sky and rain. Moo. ... All in all, I still wanted them all to move so that I could just go and get a Caramel Hot Chocolate before getting over to Avenue Q.
Stuff like Transformers and Live Free or Die Hard doesn't come close to this movie.
Transformers was only cool, because it was so ridiculously awful and stuffed with clichés, that it was actually great. Besides, I doubt Bourne has such great - amazingly lame, but great - quotes as Transformers. Don't see him yelling "you want a piece of this?!" after which an agent tears him apart and yells "no, I want two pieces". Though the "I'm so glad I got in that car with you!" with a sunset sunburst in the background might fit in, if they want to decrease the overall quality of the movie. :] But I plan on reading the actual books soon. Matt Damon is said not to be a good representation of the actual character, so I'd like to know what the original character is like. ... Still want to see this movie, though. But first I'd have to see the second.

Hurrah! No more MyOtaku link! And hurrah, not some senseless line break in between! Super update. Now I look naked. ^^
