Originally posted by Sephiroth heh, I'm not spammin, just trying to make the boards a tad more interesting, funny no? ;)
Hehe, I agree. This is a great topic just for the humor alone. Heck, it kinda reminds me of my infamous "News" topic, that I made so many moons ago. Anyway, yep, this place is for having fun too, as long as we keep it reasonable. However, I will bring in a little seriousness now. James thought he was all big and bad posting his E3 news in the Nintendo forum. Well, I have some exclusive(I was the only one on these boards with the info until now) E3 pics of my own. Yep, it's Sony's answer to a certain Nintendo Mascot. As you can see, everyone's favorite sitcom is back and only possible through the power of today's systems. Maybe Sony's finally found it's mascot. As you can see, Gary Coleman will play the main role in the game. Furthermore, the cheerful atmosphere looks similar to that of Mario Sunshine. Due to the incredible likeness, Sony will push for this title to release at least one month before Nintendo's plumber. As you can see in the upper-right hand corner, a European GameCube site even picked up on this info. Many wonder if the game will truly remain exclusive to Sony's console. As indicated in the above image, Coleman's face is interactive much like Mario's mug was in his N64 outing. I hope you guys injoyed the pictures. Rumor has it that similar to The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, players will be able to play as both the old and young Coleman. Yep, prepare to see him in his security guard outfits! Sweet!

I actually did a paper on this subject. I'll take out a few snippets of how I feel. Some may argue that euthanasia is an acceptable solution for the lingering problems that accompany modern medicine. In all actuality, the need for euthanasia has been overrated and its potential negative impact greatly underestimated. The benefits of legalizing euthanasia are less than the potential harms and it will have serious consequences such as unnecessary death, reduced quality in healthcare and a decline in moral values. Statistically, euthanasia isn't really necessary. In the United States, 2.3 million people die annually, fifty percent of whom have a distinct dying stage when the request for euthanasia could be made. Only two percent are competent enough to make the decision and only five percent are in unbearable pain that cannot be relieved with medication. Incredibly, only ten percent have seriously thought about euthanasia and a measly four percent have discussed it with their physicians. When the numbers are broken down, only one hundred eight four people in the US would benefit if euthanasia was legalized (davisrm/euthno.htm). It is quite obvious that the numbers behind euthanasia do not support the need for its legalization. On the other hand, statistics clearly show potential harm behind euthanasia. If ninety-eight of the people eligible for an actively induced death are incapable of intelligently requesting it, then others would be forced to make the decision for them. Consequently, euthanasia and choice would rarely be available in the same package. Furthermore, no one in the world is perfect-not even doctors. Fatal illness can be misdiagnosed, making a person of potential recovery make a misguided plea for their own demise. Also, there are many cases of near-death patients who experience miraculous recoveries. No doctor can account for their patient?s fate with one hundred percent accuracy. Chances are, the diagnosis of an incurable disease could be inaccurate. It is wholly possible that such a disease could be curable. If people were simply ?put to death? whenever they became ill, advances in medicine would surely decline. The consequences of euthanasia will become outrageous under its acceptance. Quite probable is it, that our society could stray from voluntary euthanasia to involuntary euthanasia. People could die against their own wishes. According to the World Wide Web site on Non-Religious Arguments on ?Voluntary Euthanasia,? ?In Holland, five hundred people were killed by 'euthanasia' in 1995 of which nine hundred were admittedly killed without their consent. Scaled up to the UK this would be seventeen thousand and three thousand four hundred.? Is euthanasia still for peoples well-being if they do not desire it? Drawing the line between murder and mercy becomes increasingly difficult under these circumstances and ethical protest abounds.
Originally posted by Sarsy On Saturday, my mate brought around a recored video of DBZ for us to watch and I saw the Episode called Gotenks is born. When they first tried to fuse, Picallo said that it was Trunk's fault because he had his hands in fists but if you looked carefully it was Goten who had the fists. Anyone else notice this little mistake?
Nope, you're slightly confused. Goten did have his hands in fists, but that was the correct forum. Trunks had his pinky (or some other finger extended at that moment), which was incorrect.

Finally, it has come time for me to post my character. Name: Blue Age: 20 Height: 6'2" Power Level: 7,000 Bio: Emna Briefs considers Blue to be quite the failure, as far as her creations go. Yet, she places much of the blame on herself. When looking at the young, artificially created Saiya-jin, she sees just how reckless she can be in the lab when her excitement gets the best of her. Upon accidentally encoding a little too much of Vegeta and Son Gokou's genetic codes into the young warrior, she created a warrior motivated by limitless passion and pride, rather than puppet strings. Like Gohan, Blue has the ability to reach down into a huge well of power upon becoming angry. Description: Blue bares a striking resemblence to Son Gohan. However, unlike most Saiya-jins, his hair is blue instead of black, which obviously influenced his name. Most Common Fighting Techniques: 1)Bakuhatsuha By raising two fingers, the user of this attack can create a large explosion that will totally decimate the surrounding area or the ground under an opponent. Obtained through Vegeta's genetics 2)Kamehameha The Kamehameha is one of the most versatile techniques ever created, and can become incredibly strong. Obtained through Gokou's genetics 3)Ki no Tsurugi This is a ki beam that shoots out somewhat as an extention of the hand and can be swung and stabbed to cut or pierce enemies. The length of the beam can be controlled by the user. Obtained through Vegeta's genetics 4)Renzoku Energy Dan While many characters can use this technique, the undisputed master of this technique is Blue. The user of this technique can shoot ki bolts continuously from his hands, resulting in somewhat of a "machine-gun ki blast" effect. While the indivual blasts are not particulary powerful, the effect of hundreds together can be devastating. Obtained through Vegeta's genetics 5)Shunkanido Not a fighting technique, but often used to gain a tactical advantage in a fight. The Shunkanido is a teleport. The user places two fingers on his forehead, searches for a ki he wants to go to, then when he finds it, can teleport there. It is not a technique that one can use to teleport wherever he pleases; there must be a person there to teleport to. Obtained through Gokou's genetics Benefactor: A Mysterious man, claiming to belong to the long defunct Red Ribbon Army. (Don't worry, it won't be Gero, lol).

Neil and I have put together an RPG that we hope will do DragonBall justice. We worked hard to develop an original story that will be unlike anything seen in previous DragonBall rpgs. Honestly, we were sick of the whole "villain from outer space" cliche. We hope that you all enjoy it and participate in what could be magic. It should be noted that we used actual mythology for the demons to create their bios. We figured it'd be cool to have "real demons." So, as much as I hate to admit it, much of their bios are based on currently existing info. However, the storyline will be totally original and independent of the demon god's orgins. As you will see, they will play second fiddle to original demons that will come into play. The Earth fell. Collapsed in upon itself, writhed and buldged like a struggling heart, and stopped beating. The entire concept of humanity vanished along with the ideas and ideals of human compassion. The time of DragonBalls, sensu beans and saiya-jins have faded into obscurity, becoming nothing more than an ancient myth. However, the earth that the Z-Fighters fought so valliantly to preserve still remained in existence--but barely. Teetering on the edge of destruction, the pitiful mass of soil and ocean buckled under humaity's hatred. For millenia, gunfire echoed in stale air and the sounds of bombs falling, drowned out blood choked cries of anguish. Ultimately, man came to the conclusion that artillary could not win their divine war. Thus, the race to conjure demon warriors began. Instead of spilling their own blood on the battlefield, man relied on his demon grunts to decide the fate of humanity. Demon Grunt Troops Incabable of intelligent thought. Demon grunts are soley the tools of battle, carrying out only what they are programmed to. Ruthless and unforgiving, these grunts don't discriminate based on gender or age. They will destroy all members of an ethnic group or military group that they are ordered to. As demon technology progressed, advances in strength became greater. Within a single century after the demon warrior's conception, Demon Gods became a reality. The Chasm Demon The ultimate creation of the Eastern Alliance. The Chasm Demon is rather tall, but usually hunched over. Thus, it is quite difficult to fight. It's skin is a sickly grey with tinges of brown. It is well muscled, with a hideously out of proportion body. The Mephguour A man demon, creature of Fire and product of dark magic used on people with the intent to defy the league of Black Mages. This demon is used by the dark sorcerers in order to guide more powerful creatures conjured from hell in order to fulfill the evil purposes assigned to them by the mages. Thus, further strenthening the league of Black Mages' army. The League of Black Mages is essentially a cult army that replaced South America's official army. The Mhorashty A mythical demon (spoken Morr-Ash-Tee, plural Morashty as well) said to represent the army of Former Soviets. It seems to be drawn to death like a flea to a dead corpse. It is rumored to have the ability to wander freely between our world and the Netherworlds. In other contexts it's also seen in connection with Etherus as a creature of lust and the sins of love although it's allignment to death and destruction seems to be pre-dominant. The Tam-Rek A large, black-skinned brute serving the United States. It has elvishly pointed ears, but a round human type body which, despite the diameter, is very muscular. It's feet are actually cloven hooves which are surrounded by thick off white hair that continues up to the knee. Tam-Rek also has thin hair on it's head which appear close shaved, but never truly grow, much the same as it's goatee. The High Demon Khalkaroth Khalkaroth is a mythical, very powerful demon creature serving the Order of European Prominance. Khalkaroth is known to have been summoned at several ferocious battles in the past, using his uncompared abilities to extinguish whole armies. Thus, he is believed to be a trump card in the tournament. After several ferocious battles, these demons vanquished not only armies of demons, but vast numbers of humanity's wavering population. Due to mankind's inherent desire to survive, Earth's remaining politicians and military leaders decided that Earth's future leadership would no longer rest upon victories on the battlefield, but in a tournament. Immediately, Earth's armies began a race to prepare their most powerful respective demon to represent them in the tournament. Meanwhile, deep within the ruins of Capsule Corp, a descendent of the Briefs family, worked feverishly to create Saiya-jin bio warriors superior to the demons. According to ancient records, the Saiya-jin race possessed incredilbe strength and conquered the planet Vegeta many ages ago. It would be ironic if the world were to be decided just how Vegeta was between Tsufurujins and Saiya-jins. How incredible would it be to create bio warriors famed for conquering planets? The answer is obious. Using the ancient DNA of Brolly, Turlitz, Vegeta and Gokou, the scientist set out to accomplish her goal. Mere months later, rumors of the availability of a supreme fighting race spread across the Black Market like wild fire. Desparate dictators and warlords scrambled together the appropriate funds to purhcase their own fighting machine. When tournament time comes, will demon blood spill moreso than Saiya-jin blood? Only time will tell. All of you who join will be Saiya-jin warriors created for the purpose of competing in the tournament. You can be male or female. When creating the saiya-jins, the scientist only knew of saiya-jin power, neglecting the power of pride. You will each have your own thoughts, but remain owned by an army or benefactor until the tournament begins. Name: Age: (Note that the Saiya-jin warriors are artificially aged, since all technically are very young (they're recent creations remember). Basically, you'll be posting the age that they've been artificially aged to. Height: Power Level (limit-- 7,000): Bio: Description: Most common Techniuqes (List five): Owner/Benefactor:

He mentioned both chibi and Mirai no Trunks to avoid confusion, but I guess it didn't work, lol. The only Z fighters (non fused) to reach SSJ2 were Vegeta, Gokou and Gohan.

Hmmm, mine is Louch Lodel. I guess it's an okay name, but it seems kind of cheesy.
Originally posted by The Vampire: Ed I have no doubt in my mind that ZOE 2 will be even more enjoyable.
Yep, especially since it isn't just Kojima's other project anymore. The new graphics engine sounds pretty cool, although the new Robotech game is doing something similar. The last Zone of Enders was too dark for my liking. The cel shaded graphics should give the visuals a nice boost in vibrance. Yet, the bleak visuals went well with the bleak storyline. Hopefully, this new look will give us a more attractive game, while coinciding with the theme. More enemies onscreen will be a treat, but will also make for a more challenging game. Protecting buildings played a big part in the last Zone of Enders. I wonder if preservation will be as important in the next.

Anime Would you say Vegeta is a cheater and crybaby?
Charles replied to Trunks02's topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by SuperSayian Also, it takes a while to actually GO SSJ3. Vegeta would've taken his chance and blasted Kakarot before he could finish the transformation.
lol, Yeah right. Knowing DBZ, Vegeta would have just stared at Gokou with his mouth hanging open and his eyes twitching, whilst making strange noises. That seems to be the general reaction to shocking power. Anyway, I doubt a blast from Vegeta would have even effected Gokou while he was bathed in energy like that. Chances are, the blast wouldn't make it to Gokou because his own energy would be stronger. Remember when Cell became perfect? Trunks was unsuccessful in doing any damage to Cell during the transformation. Though, I agree that if Vegeta attacked, it would not be cheating. It would be unlike him though, seeing as how likes to fight opponents at their strongest. Heck, that very statement alone proves that he's not a coward. -
Well, if you haven't seen any screens, then today's your lucky day. Unfortunately, IMG code isn't enabled in this forum, but I'll link you directly to pics provided in GameSpot's preview of the game. Ah I pretty much get what you're talking about. Jedi Outcast for the PC can be played in the first person perspective, but because of the vast force abilities at the player's disposal (running on walls, pulling a weapon out of an enemy's hands, soaring thirty feet into the air, etc) it's classified as an action game. I guess Metroid would be similar to Jedi Outcast, in that it is more of an action game despite its perspective. Seeing as how Zelda is an action rpg, this opinion shouldn't be too far off from yours. I'm still intereted in seeing how much platforming action is involved though. Platforming is just as important to the classic Metroid experience as blasting mother brain is.

This game is turning out a lot better than I thought it originally would.
Substance will build on the Metal Gear Solid 2 experience by adding literally hundreds of new VR missions and noteworthy bonus material. But there's more to Substance than just a series of new mini-missions. Among other things, Substance will remedy Kojima's controversial introduction of Raiden by letting you assume the role of Solid Snake throughout the entire course of Metal Gear Solid 2. The game will also let you play as several other characters, including Pliskin and the cyborg ninja. There are even five new episodes completely unrelated to Sons of Liberty that will take you on entirely new adventures with Solid Snake.
So far the game is slated to release in the U.S. November. This package sounds like a bargain to me. I wonder how good the quality of the new Snake/Pliskin/Ninja missions will be. The actual actors were brught back to re-record the voices of Raiden and Snake, so Konami must be taking this project very seriously. Although the game will also hit the PC and PS2, it's nice to see Xbox getting a game with some effort put into it.

Hey, thanks Solid Snake and Vampire Ed; it's good to see that there are a couple more Hawk fans on the boards. Perhaps, I should point out, by the way, like other installments of the series, there will be eight environments. Just imagine the replay value here. If each of those environments is as huge and interactive as Neversoft claims they will be, we could be looking at a bonafide classic. We all know that when it comes to level design, Neversoft never disappoints. Size is nothing, but when an environment is large scale and designed well, there's magic. Some interesting things that I've also heard, is how worlds are exited. On the college level, you'll need to pay a cab driver to drive you to the next world, which happens to be a zoo. Reportedly, every animal is interactive in this particular world. The best part is, that they're actually useful. For instance, if you launch off a dird cage onto an elephant's back, the beast will rampage, smashing picnic tables in its wake (which turn into ramps), then barge through the sealed doors on the aquarium--opening a new area for you to skate in. Anyway, I'll be happy to post some more pictures. I wasn't sure that anyone would be interested in the thread to begin with, so I was wary of putting too many shots up. If you're wondering why the character models look slightly better, you can credit an increase in polygons that is made possible by the new engine. All of the character models have been completely redesigned (from 3,000 polys to 4,000). We may even see flowing garments and bruises and scrapes. Pretty impressive work for a project limited to under a year's time, eh guys?

The plot revolves around the tale of Sora, a 14-year-old boy whose life is changed forever when a storm slams into his island home and he is separated from his two best friends-Riku,14 and Kairi, 15. After the storm scatters these lifelong companions to places unknown, Sora picks himself up and begins the quest to find his friends in a new mysterious land. Before too long, Sora links up with Court Wizard Donald and Captain Goofy, protectors of the Disney Castle, and learns that these characters are on a mission to find King Mickey. As their journey unfolds, the group discovers the existence of a terrible evil-creatures known as the Heartless. Devoid of feeling and hailing from an unknown dimension, these are beings responsible for the horrible strorm that upset so many lives. The Heartless aim to recruit Disney villains to help in the theft of the pure hearts and souls of the land's inhabitants. It's the player's job to save the universe from the Heartless and return the king to his throne--not to mention find Sora's friends. According to what I've read, the story arc focuses heaily on the Disney Angle, but also showcases a witty and genuine tale that is quintessentially Square. Oh yeah, Ragnarok, from what I know, Sephiroth will not make an appearance. However, Tidus, Yuffie, Waka, Selphie, Cid(FFVII) and Squall (known here as "Leon") will make cameos.
Originally posted by James Well yeah, this game has no two player mode...but it is a Metroid game, just in a first person perspective. That's why it's inaccurate to label it as a first person shooter. When you play it, you will notice that it feels very different to any FPS games. It literally is a Metroid game in the first person. The ability to strafe, flip and jump sideways when you target is really welcome as well...it should add a lot to the feeling of actually being "in" the game.
Well, judging jumps in first person view games is typically a challenge in itself. The older Metroids contained a lot of platforming action from what I can remember. Even if jumping in the newest Metroid is easier, I'm willing to bet that platforming has been toned down a little to accomdate the view. Thus, it is appropriate to deem it a first person shooter. It's just a little more flexible.

Heh, dude, you only have four posts. Anyway, Mr. Satan is my favorite character and the champion of the Earth. A lot of people may say that he's a weakling or a coward, but he truly is a hero. Not only did he single handedly defeat Cell, but he also managed to assist Gokou in saving the Earth from Buu. If Mr. Satan hadn't convinced the Earth's people to raise their arms, Gokous's Genki Dama wouldn't have put the pink critter in his resting place. Mr. Satan is truly someone we can all look up to, fictional or not. Mainly because he reminds me of Hulk Hogan. Of important note, is that fact that he is the father of Videl, whom Gohan marries. If Mr. Satan hadn't created Videl, we wouldn't have Pan.:toothy:

Hehe, mine passed recently too. Yep, May 18th. Congratulations Jam, we're a couple of Otaku fogies. Although, I don't think I'm widely known either, lol. :p Oh yeah, and Dark Anime guy, the boards have been around before August. After the upgrade to version 3.0, we all had to re-register.

I've got to admit...I'm impressed. Really, I would have been disappointed if I wasn't impressed with this game. Perhaps Metroid Prime will give the console first person shooter genre a shot in the arm. Besides Red Faction, I haven't played any real "thinking man's" first person shooters in a while. Although combat intensive, this puppy'll most definitely have brains and brawn. I kinda hope the game doesn't come off too cinematic though. I doubt we'll see that though. Too much focus seems dedicated to the actual gameplay. Furthermore, it seems like the game will return to old school twitch-based gameplay. The one thing I didn't notice was mention of a run button. I hope everything isn't too slow. Then again, the roll function probably substitutes for the abilitiy to run. I didn't notice anything about split screen multiplayer either. Oh well, when making a Metroid game, it's best to focus on the single player mode anyway.

Yeah, I would really go into this, but I've done so before in this thread. It's right on this page as a matter of fact. In short, don't look to play Final Fantasy X on your GameCube anytime soon. Look on the bright side though. At least you can look forward to playing exciting new products, such as an official update to Mario rpg.

There is no doubt that the Playstation 2 hosts tons of quality software. I could literally compose a shopping list of great games and chances are, they've been discussed in good ole' gaming Otaku. Yet there's one franchise that doesn't doesn't quite receive the same attention on these collective forums that the other big titles do. Sure, it's been discussed now and then, but not to the depth that other games have been. People, I'm preaching about the definitive action/sports franchise known as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (lol, just in case you didn't read the thread title). The formula that Neversoft has developed has proven addictive, delivering an experience that many people can't put down. The Tony Hawk series does something that most games of today don't--reward gamers with a score that actually means something. Now, Neversoft is intent on reworking the entire engine from the ground up. This year's Tony Hawk 4 is going to have an entirely revamped career mode. In short, there will be a lot more to do than before. According to the developers, it'll feel more like a real skateboarding game than merely completing a checklist. Furthermore, the levels in the upcoming fourth installment of the series are fashioned on individual worlds. According to the previews I've read, the worlds resemble that of Grand Theft Auto 3, in that they seem endless. Obviously, this means that the game will be fashioned more towards realism. One of the biggest changes, is the removal of the timer. Not only does this make each run seem like free skate, but also lends to the "real world" effect. Now, as tasks are completed more ramps and level geometry will be added to the level. One of the coolest aspects is the level of interaction with the characters populating the worlds. Now, instead of just plowing them down, you can initiate a conversation and participate in contests or task challenges. The professional skaters themselves feature authentic spoken dialogue. So, if you want to chat it up with Bob Burnquist (yep, he's back) you're free to do so. As any Tony Hawk fan knows, each installment brings a revolutionary trick to the table. Tony Hawk 2 gave us the manual. In Tony Hawk 3, combos were extended through the implementation of the Revert. Now, Tony Hawk 4 introduces the Spine Transfer maneuver. Like the revert, it's quite easy to do. Just press the R2 button when you reach the top of a ramp and your skater will trick off the top either to connect to an adjoining ramp, or launch to whatever may reside behind the ramp. Plus, there's the recovery move that allows you to straighten your character out if he/she's landing sideways. Cool indeed. Lastly, a plethora of minigames have been added. One strange game has you dodging monkey poop while another has you using your skateboard as a tennis racket. Heck, you can even play a little B-Ball. Just in case anyone's interested, I'll put a couple shots up. Only because I'm nice and I want to show off this killer game though. :toothy: Yeah, and you thought the car wash was crazy. So, is anyone else actually looking forward to the next Hawk? I rank it right up there with the rest of the top tier games.
Originally posted by Sephiroth Brolli has the power of an ultimate super saiya-jin, ussj for short, power increases greatly but speed decreases drastically, his power is equivelent to that of an ssj2, maybe slightly higher.... there is no way that brolli could have defeated cell alone, let alone all the bad guys put together or whatever.... son gokou in ssj3 would have beaten brolli to shreds....
I have to disagree. As you said, Brolli's power is equivelent to or greater than that of a SSJ2. Seeing as how Gohan had his problems with Brolli, I'd say that the speed wouldn't hurt him much in his fight with Cell. :p
