Originally posted by Solid Snake I'm going to have to disagree with you there Crazy White Boy. Only three Dargonball games were released for the PSX, including Dragonball GT: Final Bout, Dragonball Z: Ultimate Battle 22, and Dragonball Z Legends, which you refer to as Dragon Ball Z: Idainaru Dragon Ball Densetsu. I just wanted to correct you in saying that they are the same game, proving it in the fact that your description of it so closely resembles Legends, with 3 on 3 fights. :blah:
Hehe, well go figure. I'm not a big fan of the DBZ games, so I've never imported them. But when reading reviews for Idainaru Dragon Ball Densetsu, I've seen people complain about it being worse then Legends. Yet, I thought there were only three Dragon Ball games for PSX. Hmm, we better get Matlock for this one.
Originally posted by ssj3 i have another question: how do the saiyans know that if they grow a tail and go golden oruozu and hold their minds for so long they will go ssj4?
Well, the fact is, they didn't know at first. As a child in GT, Gokou can't handle SSJ3 for long, so he loses to Bebi Vegeta. Dai Kaioshin decided to pull Gokou's tail out with pliers so that Gokou would have more power. When Gokou shows up on Planet Plant to fight Bebi Vegeta, he looks at the Earth and changes into the Golden Oozaru. Pan reminds Gokou of who he is, because he's not only destroying Planet Plant and Bebi Vegeta, but also sees the Earth and tries to reach it. I guess it's all destiny. He didn't really plan on going SSJ4.

Anime Would you say Vegeta is a cheater and crybaby?
Charles replied to Trunks02's topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by *-- RagnaroK--* The thread specifically is titled with the name "VEGETA", and not the "Z fighters", even though Goku surrendered against cell, where as vegeta RAN off, there is a very big difference between the two.
Well, by singling out Vegeta and putting his character into question, it is assumable that he's being judged against the other characters. In fact, because the other Z fighters aren't being taken into account, this topic is automatically declaring that the other characters don't need to be taken into consideration. If all of the other Z Warriors were crybabies, would a thread be created asking if Vegeta was a cheater or a crybaby? Probably not. Thus, it's appropriate to bring the others up. Anyway, fine, you want to say that Gokou never ran away eh? Well, Vegeta, like Gokou, knew he wasn't as powerful as Cell, yet he stayed, fought and was a major factor in winning the battle. No cowardice there. Yeah, and like Vegeta would have ever asked Trunks to fight his battles for him.
and picollo ran away from buu (if your talking about the one im thinking about) because vegeta blew himself up (believe me, if he hadnt done that for trunks and bulma then that would be the icing on the cake for his cowardly acts, but it was for someone else so its ok), piccollo trunks and gotenjust didnt want to get caught up in the blast, what would you do if you were next to a bomb that was about to explode? RUN, (or try to defuse it). Any more arguments?
I was actually talking about after the blast, when the boys were safe and Buu began to reform. Piccolo ran away because he knew he couldn't beat Buu. Furthermore, he was definitely scared. I'm not saying he's a coward, because it was just an act of intelligence. I know this is only an anime, but it carries over a real human trait--self preservation. If someone knows they can't win, they'll run. That's what Vegeta attempted against Furiza after fighting bravely--self preservation/survival . Anyway, would a crybaby ask someone to blast them and injure them severely just so they could become stonger. I don't think so. Lol, anyway, you'll actually see Gokou actually beg Buu off when he gets back to Earth. Just wait until Gohan misses Gokou's throw (when he throws the earring). You can't just dismiss what everyone else has done and single out a few instances that support your own argument. For the most part, Vegeta has rushed into battle because of pride. That's his character; proud to a fault. A coward can't be proud, the formula just doesn't mix. The notion that Vegeta is a cheater or a crybaby contradicts his character to the point that neither can be true.
Oh, and thanks for the compliment CWB!!
Hey no prob. I'm for a good discussion anyday. :toothy: -
Originally posted by SuperSayian And so begins the AIM debate's debut Well, SSJ2 Gohan was getting beaten down because Brolli's base power was higher. And also, since Brolli IS the Legendary Saiyan, his power is constantly Legendary... In that case, it's Legendary Brolli, Legendary SSJ Brolli, and Legendary USSJ Brolli... I'd copy and paste the entire IM here, but Charlie might not want me to...=/
Well, heck, I don't mind. I'll basically sum up the IM. ;) You claim that Brolly doesn't have a Legendary SSJ form. Rather, being a legendary super saiya-jin is an extension of his abilities. For instance, his Ultra Super Saiya-jin form will always be stronger than Gohan's SSJ2. I on the other hand, believe that the level of Legendary Super Saiya-jin is a stage of its own, but only attainable by Brolly in the series, since there can only be one legendary super saiya-jin in existence at once. Really, it's just like how certain requirements are needed to fulfill the SSJ4 transformation. Brolly's form can't simply be USSJ because that form's max power was already reached by the other Saiya-jins. Brolly's form is something beyond that. In fact, it's between SSJ2 and SSJ3.
Originally posted by SuperSayian ...............Like Hell............ It's difficult for the Z Fighters to beat Brolli because he's stronger. But Brolli never goes past USSJ... We see his chibi self, adult self, SSJ adult self, USSJ adult self, and Bio-Android. And about Brolli being Kakarot's toughtest opponent? I think Ii Shenron would be his toughest opponent... Seeing as how he is the last and most powerful foe we ever see in the real series... Darn the newbies and their assults on my mind.......o.o;;;;;;;;;;;
Acutally, his powers do extend beyond Ultra Super Saiya-jin. :p Even SSJ2 Gohan has his trouble with him in Movie 10: Dangerous Partners! Super Warriors Never Rest. I might be wrong, but I think that his level is Legendary SSJ, not Ultra SSJ. Anyway, Ii Shenron is definitely his toughest opponent. Anyone that can take on two SSJ4 and No. 4 dragon, is one bad dude.
Originally posted by Atomic Sock After the guy is set free he does like a 5 hour dance and turns Gohan Mystic.
Don't forget the actual twenty-plus hour process of unlocking Gohan's latent powers and turning him mystic. ;) I guess doing nothing for seven years (training-wise, and excluding training with Goten for the tournament) and becoming more powerful than Vegeta in about a day's time, isn't such a bad deal though.

Well, I really like what Deus_Ex_Machina had to say. Some enemy intelligence would really go a long way. If enemies worked together as a pack, and showed "emotion," the game would probably be a little more enjoyable. I just wonder if it would feel the same. Anyway, how would everyone feel if they ditched the orb system and worked experience points into the formula instead. I think that if Dante had the ability to "level up" like in an rpg, the game would flow a lot smoother. Plus, Dante learning new moves as he levels up would certainly be better than purchasing them. I guess that players would have more incentive to hit the stylish combos. What does everyone think? Would experience points benefit the game or do you like the orb system?
Originally posted by Goku213 i read that someone gives their life for Goku to come back and live on Earth
Yep, yep. That would be Rou Daid Kaioshin (the old supreme Kai). Hehe, it's really funny because they're all standing there mourning him and he just jumps right back up with a halo over his head. I mean, where else could he have gone, anyway? And yes, Buu's voice does change Goku213, though I liked Fat Buu's voice better. Nothing beats the original Japanese voice of Mr. Buu though. It just sounded so....freaky.

Hmm, you made a similar topic to this in the Nintendo forum. Like Desbreko said in that one, you don't need to simply post a list of new games coming out. People can easily find that information. I mean, look: Release Dates That's just a sample of the powers that actually looking on the 'net bring. Now, if you want to make a topic discussing one of those particular games, you are welcome to.
Originally posted by Atomic Sock Is that also known as Legends? I have that and Ultimate Battle 22, and I saw no legends, so is that what your talking about?
Nah, it's a different game than Legends. I guess I forgot one on my list, lol. Thanks for pointing that out.

Anime Would you say Vegeta is a cheater and crybaby?
Charles replied to Trunks02's topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by *-- RagnaroK--* For one CWB, you are wrong! In the freeza saga, Vegeta attempted to run away from him, shouting out in this words," No im not ready yet, I cant die now!", but Freeza teleported in front of him and forced him back.
lol, Well PiroMunkie basically did a good job of countering what you said, but remember if you still put Vegeta in the category of coward just because of this, you will have to put most of the Z Fighters in as well. I mean, Piccolo runs from Buu, Yamucha and Kuririn refused to fight Buu again after King Kai preserved their bodies, Trunks didn't want to fight the androids, and Gokou quit his fight with Cell, because he knew he couldn't win. Isn't that basically what Vegeta did against Furiza? The only difference is that Vegeta didn't have a stronger warrior to take up the fight for him at the time. I could sit here and name a bunch of times when the Z Fighters didn't fight because they couldn't win, but I think everything's been said that's needed to be said by myself, Piro and Neil, regarding your argument. :p It's nice to see that you picked up on that and challenged what I said though. Nice try! :toothy: -
Well, I've been working on this story for a little while and I wanted to see if anyone liked it. I guess, I'll put the rest up if there should be enough demand for it. Beep.......Beep.....Beep......Beep I could feel a thin, hot numbness bubbling in the deepest bowls of my stomach. Everything was so....dim. Yet, I wasn't scared anymore. At least, that's what I told myself. Was I subconscious, unconscious, tossing left and right? Was I beating helpless tunes in the air with sleeping limbs? I..... just wanted to play ball. The feeling before a game--there's nothing like it. It's that tight feeling, like.....a rubber band being squeezed around your forehead. You feel your Adam's apple doing an up an'-down act--gulp, gulp, gulp--and you feel great--great damnit! So fine, so smooth. I liked that feeling of being air-light, with my head tight. When you feel that, you know that you have begun to think with your heart instead of the swarming blurs in your mind that pass for intelligent thought. Beep......Beep.......Beep.......Beep... Windows with no view, washed out walls closing in, a chorus of ticks, humming machines and clicking foot steps drowned me in a sea of utter despair. It's Ironic that I was there to have my life saved, no? By all means, I should have been thankful. Would you be thankful? After all, hospital care was rare. Only celebrities or athletes like myself were worthy of being saved. Was it because we were valuable citizens? Not really. The hot excitement of the game had the power to melt reality away; it was the brief escape we provided for the masses that made us worthy of being saved. When we stopped providing that escape, that lapse in reality, we knew that the sterilized air and waxed floors wouldn't be there for us anymore. Beep....Beep.......Beep.....Beep... I had become the host of pain. It was a parasite that ate at my very sanity. My mind was a balloon. I had to let the string go....allow my mind to float away. I remembered starlight nights and pillow fights; times when things were easier. Flooding into my brain, floating on brown water, rippling with white bubbles, were dreams that I had long thought forgotten. It was hot as hell, and dry. Dry like my courage, in the face of the Devil. The room was a peaceful desert. So barren, so devoid of life, it offered no intimidation. Nothing here to end me. Nothing here to take away all that I hold dear. But yet? it wasn't somewhere I?d ever want to be. Why is that? I always thought that tolerance was the scale that showed one's level of dedication, but my faith was wavering. In between the empty ticks of the clock, the hour glass above my head, nearby moans of agony grew louder. They were mine. Why couldn't I move? Beep.......Beep........Beep.........Beep... "God," I whispered, "please don't let that 'beeping' stop." Strangers on the wall looked down on me with crooked smiles and deceitful eyes. Bold, white lettering read "When you open your heart to giving, angels fly at your door." I asked myself what more I could give, though I knew the ultimate answer. A faint knock at the door, followed by slow, hesitant footsteps, joined the chorus of ticks, clicks, beeping and humming that swarmed in my ears. The endless void slowly rose away as the nearby curtain was drawn back revealing a grassy knoll with a singular, weeping willow tree standing at its peak. With its long, buoyant, downy branches hanging down on all sides, the tree was in many ways comparable to the mighty mushroom cloud. The clear navy sky of night displayed the shining beacon of earth's first satellite, shining down onto us as the only glimmer of light. Beep.....Beep........Beep.....Beep....Beep With the "click-clock" of the closing door, I was alone once again. Why was the window opened? What was the point? Who needs a view at night? Drifting back into my own personal solitude, I gathered that doctors and nurses partook in "The Game" too. Yes, even those who "save" need to be "saved" now and then. I didn't know whether to feel insulted or flattered that someone would pull back a curtain for an excuse to get a glimpse of me. Was I a trophy? Something on display? At least I wasn't gathering dust. I was the prime exhibit. Another poster caught my eye. This one read, in large, empty lettering, "One Cannot Expect A Blind Man To Walk A Straight Path." What the hell was this one advertising? The rest of the wording was too vague to make out. The splintering glow from the full moon above, its slivered rays of light cut through my dense sense of self worthlessness on that clear, starlit night. I fell asleep riding atop a wave of my own creation, crashing down and lapping at my consciousness, slowly eroding it away. Empty sleep was more bearable than the pain of living an empty existence, I suppose. So, Do you see a man? Do you see a Superman? Do you see someone more than a man? Do you see everyman? Do you see nothingman? Oh, I'm sorry, where are my manners? Go ahead and have a leg. You didn't come to this barbecue to hear my stories, I'm sure. Today really is the perfect day for a gathering like this. Just look at the wind, carrying everyone's' laughter through the leaves of dancing trees. Oh, what kind of host am I? Would you like dark meat or light meat? One wouldn't expect things to remain peaceful, not this long. Ever since the overpopulation crisis of 2085. Wasn't it just awful? It felt like everyone was closing in. I'm sorry, if I equivocate a bit, but, even the simple intricacies of life were unbearable. The requiem of comfort. Hot breath burned my neck on every hover car, bodies bumped and writhed under the pressure of it all. I couldn't think. No one could. Can't you surrender a brief understanding of this situation? Yes, the game did offer a viable solution. That's why we're able to gather here today isn't it? Sporting events had always tied in with society. Our perceptions of grandeur, role models, who we want to be--it all tied in with sports and celebrities. The artificial, plastic, two dimensional, made in fantasy land, million dollar smiles tell us what we should be. It was only a matter of time until government and sporting events merged, birthing a new set of rules and values for us to live by. Put some hot sauce on that thigh, it adds to the flavor. We thought that there would be riots, picketing, even Armageddon when the President declared his plans for depopulating our land. China's failure in dealing with the crisis at hand, so many years ago, proved that swift action was necessary, even at the cost of further corrupting American morals.
Originally posted by Goku213 As time went on, Goku was saying how Buu was increasing in power. How was this possible? As Buu was fighting Goku at SSJ3, Goku said it, so how was it that Buu was getting stronger while fighting?
Simple. There is no great aswer to this question. Buu simply raised his power in an attempt to match Gokou. When he blows steam out of those holes, he is powering up. If I remember correctly, they said that Buu can reach down into an almost endless reservoir of energy.

Well, when he said it was like a MegaMan X game, he was probably thinking about the similar quick, twitch gameplay that both series share. Like MegaMan, Dante even has infinite ammo and upgradeable weaponry. The only problem with making the game scary, is that such an approach would be hard to do. After all, the main character is an almost undstoppable badass. Come to think of it, Rico is right about the A.I. A lot of the fun in the game comes from the fast gameplay, and really tough enemies might ruin that. Improved boss intelligence would definitely be appreciated though. I guess the best thing they could do, is take a look at the Castlevania series. Many comparisons have been drawn between the two series anyway. Heck, people even say that Devil May Cry is what the 3D Castlevania games should have been. Maybe they should stop breaking the levels up into missions and put Dante into one huge maze.

Capcom is planning to release Devil May Cry 2 worldwide in the latter half of the fiscal year. Of course, that would put its release somewhere between October 2002 and March 2003. According to what I've read, the game's official debut will naturally come at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (which doesn't come as a big surprise).
Capcom's aim is to sell 1,780,000 copies of the game by the end of the fiscal year -- 650,000 in Japan, 700,000 in North America, and 430,000 in Europe. In comparison, the company expects to sell 1,170,000 of the upcoming Bio-Hazard 0 for Gamecube. The original Devil May Cry has shipped a little over 2 million copies to date, but that's not necessarily disproportionate to Capcom's expectations for the sequel, since it has been available for much longer than DMC2 will have been by the end of the fiscal year.
As you can see from the quote above, Capcom has high hopes for the next installment of their new franchise. I'm just wondering what everyone would like to see in the sequel. I feel that the first game was okay while it lasted, but didn't offer the longevity, of its cousin, Resident Evil. Hopefully, and most likely, we'll see Trish become a playable character. If she receives her own unique section of the quest (like the Resident Evil characters traditionally do), we could definitely see more replay value come into the mix. Anyhoot, the first Devil May Cry aimed to make the enemies the underdogs. Does anyone think that the sequel needs more in-depth puzzles and improved enemy A.I or do you think that Capcom should stick with the formula from the last and merely expand upon it? In the end, I just hope they offer a better variey of bosses and focus on the storyline a bit more. The voice acting in the last DMC was laughable at best....

I'm not really at liberty to say which one is the best, because I've only played Final Bout. From what I've heard though, none of them are very good. In terms of fighting games, you could do a lot better....
Originally posted by Heaven's Cloud Both Kevin Nash (who was Diesel) and Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) started in the WWF and moved into the WCW as the NwO.
Actually, both Kevin Nash and Scott Hall started out in WCW. Kevin Nash was first brought into the NWA in 1990, debuting under the guise of Steel and teamed with Al Green (Blade) to form the Master Blasters. After that stint failed, he was known as "Oz" and came to the ring wearing green tights, sporting dyed silver hair, and a rubber mask. He was accompanied by his manager "The Wizard" (Kevin Sullivan in a similarly sad costume). Believe it or not, Oz made his first appearance accompanied by not only the Wizard, but also Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, and his very own Emerald Castle. Next, in WCW, Nash became known as Vinnie Vegas(a casino bouncer). Scott Hall was originally called "Diamond Studd" and was managed by Diamond Dallas Page. He looked kind of like a young Rick Rude in my opinion. Anyway, your wrestling wizard has spoken.

It doesn't really matter though, seeing as Gokou can use energy from distant planets as well, later in the series. With the potential this move possesses, it is pointless to compare it to Yamucha's move. Why? Because it's more powerful than any move. Period.

I don't know why everyone is so concerned with age when talking about Disney movies. Generally, they're family movies. Thus, they are directed at audiences of all ages. If you think about it, most Disney movies have an underlying message and teach people about dealing with death, greed and vanity. The main reason people immediately don't like this particular movie, is because the advertisements are put together poorly.
Originally posted by SSJ Gotenks ok He absorbs vegita and goku when there fused as vegitto.
It's important to remember that Vegetto put a barrier up. Thus, Buu was never able to "truly" absorb Vegetto and inherit his powers. Anyway, the "Instant Transmission" is a technique that requires mental training. Fat Buu simply copied Vegeta and Gokou's respective moves, as they only required a knowledge of Ki and a visual demonstration to do. Even Goten could do a Kamehameha. Since Buu never absorbs Gokou, he never learns the move, since one can't simply see it, to learn it.
-
Buu never learns the instant transmission technique. After he becomes Super Buu, he is able to sense power levels. Thus, he can sense the location of the Z-Fighters. That is how he finds the lookout.
