Originally posted by Solid Snake I highly doubt that Microsoft will get very far on their gaming platform, with a too-large system, and games that could be a lot better. :blah:
Eh, I actually like Microsofts' first party games. Already released titles, such as Halo, Project Gotham Racing and Rallisport Challenge are great. Their sports franchises could use some work, but definitely show potential. Future releases, such as Brute Force, MechAssault and Project Ego are a step in the right direction as well. I think I know what you mean though. Microsofts' third parties are kinda weak. I remember reading an article on the system in which Microsoft said they have a policy on games. It was something like, "No ports, no patches, no sh_t." Microsoft claimed to have a review board that demanded that any PS2 or PC games coming to Xbox must be jazzed up to take advantage of the more powerful hardware. After seeing some things released on the system, I wonder. When it all comes down to it, I feel that the reduction of hardware costs are important, but online gaming will be the next arena where the companies will be taking shots at one another. We'll probably see very competitive ISP deals and Microsoft will no doubt flaunt its broadband capabilities and built-in hard drive. Anyway, you are correct about the "too-large system." But, I think that takes a back seat, so to speak, on American shores to the uncomfortable controller. Americans are ususally fascinated with big things. Look at all those people who have huge entertainment centers. But, the controller is a problem, not only because of size, but because of button layout, and Microsoft should concentrate on advertising their new Controller-S. Back on track here, by lowering its price, Sony is putting the heat on Nintendo and Microsoft. Sony launched its console long before the competition did and they have the benefit of selling it for its full price for over a year now. Presently, they're just sweeping up gamers who had been holding onto their PSX's, waiting for a price drop. It actually makes sense that they would do this now, seeing as how they have released a "Greatest Hits" collection. Now, consumers can pick up a PS2 for $199 and some great titles for low prices.

Anime Would you say Vegeta is a cheater and crybaby?
Charles replied to Trunks02's topic in Otaku Central
I really think everyone has to realize what a crybaby is. I picture a crybaby as someone who constantly whines to others about their own misfortune. Furthermore, a crybaby can be someone who bursts into uncontrollable sobs at the slightest hint of pain. Now, think about things for a second. The DragonBallZ and GT series together span many years. Along that vast amount of fime, Vegeta has only cried like three or four times. Of those times he cried, he never lost control. At most, a few tears streamed down his cheek. Furthermore, when was the last time you saw Vegeta run to Gokou crying because he was too weak to win a fight? No matter how much the odds are against him, Vegeta would take up a fight with anyone. Trunks constantly told him that the Androids were stronger than he was. Did Vegeta cry and wait for Gokou to recover? Nope, he went right after those suckers. That's just one example of many. I could throw out names like Cell, Buu, Furiza or what have you. Lastly, regarding this crying, most of the tears were either bitter or due to regret. Rarely did he cry due to a beating. I've seen Vegeta take a lot of punishment in the series without breaking a tear. I don't know if anyone has seen the fight in GT, where Gokou is down and out and Vegeta is fighting Ii Shenron, but it's brutal. Ii Shenron actually stabs Vegeta through the shoulder with one of his "spikes." Keep in mind that the spike is about as big as Vegeta's shoulder. Did Vegeta give up? Nope, he stood up again and would have fought if Gokou hadn't risen with the Genki Dama. As for being a cheater...well, lemme pose a question. Who was it that used gravity training on the way to Namek to enhance their skills during the Furiza Saga? Why, I believe Son Gokou was the first to use that method. Interesting.... Plus, we can't forget that Kuririn and Gohan used the Elder Namek to power them up. Heck, Gohan even used Rou Dai Kaioshin to power him up much later in the series. I would say that singling out just one character is bogus. -
Originally posted by *-- RagnaroK--* And what i meant CWB was that minion had the surname KANE, and so did the Yellowjacket, is there some kind of relationship?
Well, Marcus Kane is the driver of Minion. Seeing as how he's actually living, I'd say that it's a different guy than the one who was in Yellow Jacket. I'll look into it later just to make sure though. Maybe there is some kind of relationship, but I don't think so....

Well, the pictures they show look nice. But the process of installing it requires a soldering iron. Plus, not included in the kit are wire strippers, a plastic removal tool, an appropriate screwdriver, a compressed air dust remover, a screen cover replacement from Nintendo and soldering flux. I mean, that's a lot of materials. I bet that it would be awfully easy to screw up the GameBoy Advance when installing this light...
Originally posted by Desbreko I haven't really seen a good handheld system war before...
Hmmm, the Game Gear/Game Boy war was probably the closest yet. It's a shame that Sega lost interest in keeping the system around. Game Gear sucked up batteries faster than anything, but it's colorful graphics, backlight screen and superior games made it a nice alternative to GameBoy for a little while.

PS- wasnt Kane the surname of the yellowjacket guy
Hehe, no you don't have to repay me. You thanked me and that goes a long way, lol. And, well, the younger son drives Yellow Jacket. His father's dead body sits beside him. Plus, I should mention that I shortened that quote in your post. Haha, seeing someone with a cute, little Mario av flipping out is just too much, so I figured I'd shorten it to the benefit of everyone. And Sephiroth, you're right; Kane is Sweet Tooth's father.
Originally posted by RicoTranzrig And then for all the newer TV sets...that triple-wire composite thingy! One question...what's the "RGB" system setting for?
Hmm, I've read that the analog RGB output is now being used to illegally copy DVD content to videotape. Some argue that this act circumvents the system's copy-protection technology. The issue is whether or not Sony has violated a DVD industry agreement that prohibits DVD players from having an analog RGB interface. I guess you could say that it's biggest use it cause Sony trouble.

Isn't there a quota system? I am pretty sure that the U.S. picks and chooses immigrants depending on how government feels towards certain populations and how much they are needed. Basically, relations with other countries and how much the United States rely on them economically and politically are taken into account before new immigrants are admitted.
Originally posted by The Elite DBZ Hate to crash the party, but I would just like to say something about Halo that I think a few people may agree with. Yes Halo is brilliant, but it feels like an add on to many FPS games, adding graphical touches and immense levels. The game starts off brilliantly, but starts to get repetitive, sure you can drive a jeep and fly planes, but when it's just constantly just blasting away at the covenant level after level it can get boring. I am not just saying this after 5 minutes of play, I played it all the way through to the last level. Anyone else think the same thing?
I'm with you all the way. There is a lot of potential there though. Hopefully we'll see a vast arsenal of weaponry added (think Turok), more enemies, and varied gameplay. Halo wasn't really as much of the "thinking man's" first person shooter I thought it would be. I'm really eager to see if an update will offer better interaction with allies. The potential for puzzles relying on teamwork are endless. Just picture switching between a bunch of characters or using commands to complete objectives. Speaking of objectives, it would be nice to see more intelligent tasks handed out, rather than just blowing the baddies away. Plus, it would be nice to play in more levels containing both civilian and ambient life. I could picture the game picking up in a vast city, where aliens are wreaking havoc and your character is just one of many dropped off into hell on earth. If you've ever played Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, and reached Omaha Beach, you'll get the idea. Just add to that, exploding cars and collapsing buildings. We could even see new vehicles like motorcycles come into play. Lastly, more storyline wouldn't hurt. They definitely need more cut scenes interspersed throughout the levels to break up the monotony.

Well, the specs are good, but we've all learned that numbers mean little in the handheld market. The NeoGeo Pocket Color was a great system that should of been successful, but without a good promotional campaign it failed. Unless we see some good developers signing on and a good advertising campaign backing it up, you can kiss that puppy goodbye.
Originally posted by The Vampire: Ed The only head stomping you get to see is in a cut-scene, and no the zombies never seem to try grabbing your legs when they are knocked down. I don't believe I have ever seen a zombie crawling in the RE remake either....maybe they removed it. All you can really do is shoot the zombie when it's down/trying to get up.
Yeah, basically they removed the crawling/head stomp feature because it would make burning the zombies far less important. Getting bit in the leg wasn't really that damaging. I guess removing interactive downed zombies was Capcom's way of increasing the difficulty. Anyway, I'm still a little disappointed that punching and kicking were taken out. I heard that that feature was merely an example of the animation Capcom could get out of the game. Although I doubt it would have been that useful, it would have been nice. And Squashed Snail, I'm not saying that the graphics would be bad. What I am saying is that the visibility would be sad. Remember, there's little lighting in many of Resident Evil's spooky corridors. Without a decent source of light, the GBA screen would make your eyes look like that one from the original Resident Evil title screen and ads.

I gave up on R/F a long time ago. S-Video is wear it's at. :toothy:

Wow, I really feel for you guys. The storyline is what really made that game. If I had known that all the movies were gone, I would have posted the intros first. So, without further hesitation, I'll simply put up each character's entire storyline (including middle movies). Agent Stone/Outlaw. Agent Stone was a sniper for the police force. While sniping a terrorist (from a doomsday cult, possibly the same cult that Roadkill was in), he let his anger cloud his judgment and accidentally killed a little girl and her mother along with the terrorist. He tried to put a bullet in his own head, but was out of ammo. He entered the contest to undo what he had done. When he wins, Calypso gives him a second chance. This time he makes sure every bullet hits the terrorist, and the little girl and her mother are safe. However, the terrorist survived and fires a bullet right through Agent Stone's head (with a very good shot). John Doe/Roadkill John Doe has complete amnesia and enters the contest to find out who he is. After defeating Minion, he remembers being part of a doomsday cult and planting a bomb in the Midtown Center for Disease Control building. When the bomb went off, it would spread diseases all over the world. When he wins the contest, Calypso throws him a badge, which he looks at. He was in the FBI, and remembers throwing the bomb out of the window at the last minute and being knocked unconscious. Then he realizes that he's an undercover FBI agent standing in front of #2 on the FBI's most wanted list. As Calypso shoots him, he remembers that he has a family... Mr. Grimm Mr. Grimm was fighting in the Vietnam War in 1971 along side his friend, Benny. Benny was shot (but not fatally) and then they were both captured by the Vietcong. An advisor to the Vietcong devised their torture: he locked them both in a 25-foot pit with no food. The advisor threw Mr. Grimm a knife and told him there was only one way he could survive. Two days after Benny died (and 7 days in the pit), Mr. Grimm gave in and ate Benny. Then he made a helmet out of Benny's skull as he went insane, and after he was rescued he killed 4 soldiers in his platoon when they tried to take his helmet off. He entered the contest to get revenge on the Advisor who had made him go insane. When he wins, Calypso brings him to a room where the advisor is chained up and with an axe in the corner. Mr. Grimm kills the Advisor and eats him, because over the years he had developed a taste for human flesh. Dollface/Darkside Dollface was working at her first job out of college for a mask maker. One day she spilt coffee on some papers, and her boss got so angry that he nailed a mask closed onto her head and locked it with a strange key. Dollface entered the contest to get that key so she could finally get the mask off. When she wins, Calypso puts the key on a chain connected to a trap that would kill her boss if she takes the key. She takes it anyway, and a human-shaped coffin with spikes on the inside closes on her boss. Then she decides she doesn't want the key, drops it on the ground, and drives away. Bloody Mary/Spectre Bloody Mary comes from a dysfunctional family (her dad killed her mom and told her ugly girls are tramps and losers). She was also rejected and called ugly by the boy she liked when she was a little girl. When she was a bridesmaid at one of her friend's wedding, she snapped, killed her friend, and stole her wedding dress. She entered the contest to find her true love. When she wins, Calypso gives her a man whose brain he had tampered with. When she gets to him, he whispers in her ear, "I will never love you". Upset by his comment, she repeatedly strikes him with some object and drives off to try and find her true love. Frank McCutcheon aka No Face/Crazy 8 Frank used to be a small time boxer, but during one fight he was knocked out in the first round and suffered a broken jaw. He went to a doctor named Dr. Hatch and while the doctor gave him anesthetics, he told him that he lost $20,000 on the fight. As revenge, the doctor removed Frank's eyes and tongue, and sewed his eye sockets and mouth shut. When he awoke, Frank tore through the hospital trying to find the doctor, and killed or hurt several innocent people in the process (which is why he was put in the institute). He entered the contest to get revenge. When he wins, Calypso brings him to a room with the doctor tied to the wall and gives him a boxing glove with various sharp objects on it. Frank punches him with the glove, and drives away commenting on how that was his first one-hit knockout. Sweet Tooth Sweet Tooth is a serial killer who drives an ice cream truck and dresses like a clown. He was caught and sentenced to death by electric chair. While being electrocuted, Preacher (the same preacher as the driver of Brimstone) puts a curse on him that causes his head to be on fire. After this, Sweet Tooth breaks the straps holding his arms down, kills three cops, and gets his mask back on (but you still don't get to see his face). He enters the contest to put an end to this curse. When he wins, Calypso gives him a vile and says that it contains the blood of the man who put the curse on him. He says that if Sweet Tooth drinks it the curse will be lifted, but if he doesn't turn from his murderous ways the curse will return. After thinking about it for 10 seconds, Sweet Tooth throws the vile to the ground and slits Calypso's throat with a knife. Then he drives off to go commit some more murders. Raven/Shadow Raven's best friend, Kelly, was killed by two guys and she wants to get revenge for Kelly. They dropped Kelly into a lake, and because she couldn't swim, she drowned. As her dying wish she asked Raven to get them back for her. So Raven entered the contest to do just that. When she wins, Calypso gives her two voodoo dolls and she uses them to kill the two guys who killed Kelly. She also decides to keep them in case she ever meets her parents again. Charlie Kane and his Son/Yellow Jacket One day a passenger in the cab shot Charlie Kane in the head. Charlie's son was heartbroken. He and his dad were like best friends. So, he decides to build a controller that would allow him to reanimate his dad's corpse and allow him to control it. He enters the contest to see if Calypso can bring his dad back to normal. When he wins, Calypso breaks his controller and says he's going to train Charlie's son as a replacement for when he dies. Calypso also says that Charlie's son's brother (Sweet Tooth) would have been a perfect choice for a replacement, but since Charlie's son killed him, he would have to do (it was in his blood). Axel Axel's wife was kidnapped and pieces of her were mailed to him over the course of 8 months. He enters the contest in the vehicle he created to punish himself so he can find the person who killed his wife and get revenge. When he wins, you find out that Sweet Tooth is the one who killed his wife, and Sweet Tooth is chained to the ground. Axel shoot Sweet Tooth and drives away saying that the clown is dead but so is his wife, so he'll never truly be free. Cage/Warthog Cage has been killing for 12 years, but every time he does he becomes very sad. He entered the contest because he doesn't want to feel sad when he kills people anymore. When he wins, Calypso removes the part of his brain that makes him feel sad and as a bonus replaces his hands with large, sharp knife-like hands (which Cage says would become his trademark so that whenever he killed, people would know it was him). Cage then drives away saying that if people were scared of "that clown freak", he'd show them something they'd never forget. Black/Manslaughter Black entered the contest to kill Calypso. He says that he only knows how to eat, crap, and kill (although he can drive too). When he wins, Calypso isn't there (so he says, "Ca-lyp-so. But where did you go?"). Instead, Calypso left a bomb with a note that says, "Screw you! Love, Calypso". The bomb goes off but Black survives (although he looks a little different now). Then he just drives away. Billy Ray Stillwell/Junkyard Dog Billy Ray was a farmer. One day as he was walking through his corn crop a pilot flew over, dropping some chemical on Billy Ray and his crop. The chemicals made him pass out, and when he woke up, his face was deformed and his hair had turned black (and his corn was destroyed). He gets up and goes to talk to his wife, Annie, to ask her what to do, but instead sees her kissing the pilot and talking about collecting the life insurance. Enraged, he grabs the closest object (a hoe) and starts hitting her with the hoe, and continues for over an hour. He entered the contest to get revenge on the pilot who had ruined his life. When he wins, Calypso takes him back to his farm where he has the pilot chained to the ground (standing up), and the pilot's plane is a few yards away. Billy Ray gets in the plane and drives it into the pilot, allowing the propeller to chop him to bits. Then he decides he enjoys killing, and moves to the city where he thinks he could get into some trouble... Preacher Preacher believes he was possessed by a demon while attempting to perform an exorcism on a baby. With the demon in control of him, he proceeded to kill everyone in the church. When the police arrived, Preacher regained control of himself and was arrested and put in the asylum. When he wins, he finds out that he is crazy and was never possessed. He was performing a baptism, not an exorcism, and he killed everyone in the church on his own. Preacher tries several times to get the Lord to make him normal again by doing things such as nailing himself to the wall with a cross drawn on it in blood, but nothing works. Finally, he decides to kill himself by falling off of a tall building, and right at the end of the movie you hear a splat and cars honking... Marcus Kane/Minion Minion has no movies, but he does say things in text before each level. However, he talks in code. The code is A=1, B=2, C=3, etc. so it's not very hard to figure out. The only problem comes in that all of the numbers are run together so sometimes there is more than one possible outcome (like 121 could be AU or LA or ABA), but only one way makes sense. Here are all 8 things he says (translated from the code): 1) I do not think this is real. 2) I must speak in code or he will discover me. 3) We are trapped in his head. 4) This is how he sees the world, how Sweet Tooth sees his life. It is not real. 5) All of us are trapped in his head. 6) I miss the old colorful world. 7) We will return to our world one day. 8) In the real world my name is Marcus Kane. Basically, that reaveals that the whole Twisted Metal: Black storyline is just a dream within Sweet Tooth's head. Phew, I think that about covers it all. ;)

I would wish that racism was no more. One way or another, racism ties into many of the humanity's problems. If racism didn't exist, crime, poverty and violence would decrease considerably. Plus, the economy would definitely improve. Really, racism is such a silly thing considering that humanity is a single race, yet, it's such a powerful force.

No one cares about what you wear in college, as long as you're clean. I've literally seen people come to morning classes wearing pajamas. Heck, the instructor's don't even bother dressing up nicely sometimes. I personally, like the carefree attitude. It has to have something to do with maturity. The one thing that's always made me laugh, are kids that wear $150 shoes and think they're better than people who wear less expensive shoes. I mean, unless those suckers have jet rockets or something they aren't worth that much to me. Fifty dollars is plenty for a pair. I'll take the rest of that money and buy an outfit to go with 'em, lol.
Originally posted by PiroMunkie 1) What happened to three-eyes and the porceline-doll character? I assume that they died, but why weren't they brought back? They just knew they were no long strong enough to compete in any battle anymore.
lol, Hey good job answering those questions Piro, but Tien actually has a brief battle with Buu. So, in a way, he does participate with the last major battle of the DragonBallZ series. ;) And to further answer the question, yeah, as mentioned both characters live. You see both Tien and Chaozu for a moment in DragonBall GT as Gokou rides away on the Shenron in the last episode. Basically they aren't shown much, because as Piro said, they're next to useless on the battlefield.

Well, the Q was only a Japanese exlusive that wasn't released in excessive quantities anyway. Unfortnately, but obviously, it isn't capable of playing anything except for Japanese software. Basically, you aren't missing out on much if you already own a DVD or CD player. Nintendo won't be releasing any exclusive DVD format games for the Q. I gather it's kind of a collector's item.

The Radditz saga is only the start of the game, where, like the show, Gokou dies and travels Snake Way looking for King Kai. I'm pretty sure they'll release about one or two more GameBoy Advance games to complete the DragonBallZ series. :freak:

In the American dubs, they didn't fuse yet. That'll be aired when the "new" season starts.

Well, here are some for now. Billy Ray Stillwell: Calypso comes through on his bargain and delivers the pilot to Billy Ray. The pilot is tied up on a fence and gagged, so he can't move or talk. Billy Ray jumps in the plane and drives the propellors straight into the pilot. The very end only shows a pair of goggles the pilot was wearing covered in blood. Sweet Tooth: After winning the competition, Sweet Tooth is given the cure to his burning, a vile of the preachers blood. If he drinks the blood of the man who cursed him, then he will be cured. But, if he kills again then the curse will return. After 10 seconds of thought, Sweet Tooth crushes the vile of blood and kills Calypso in a flash. He can't give up what he loves. Preacher: At the end of the competition, the preacher finially realizes that the infant he was baptising was not posessed, it was just him. He was the one who destroyed the church and killed athe the people. He decides to end it all by jumping off the roof of warhawk's arena. Mr. Grimm: As promised, the man who forced Mr. Grimm to his canabalistic ways is delivered. Mr. Grimm doesn't wait, and kills him immediately and eats him. Although his revenge is satisfied, he will never loose his taste for flesh. Bloody mary: For winning the competition, Calypso delivers Spectre the husband she has been looking for. With his head sown back together after some "minor"adjustments, he looks like he's the one for Spectre. He strains and wispers in her ear, "I will never love you." Enraged, she beats him to death with a sledge hammer. She vows to find a husband, or kill every man she comes across. Agent Stone: This cop is given his chance to go back in time to prevent the tragedy from occuring, but after Calypso warns him that it could be very dangerous. This time he makes precise shots, only hitting the terrorist. In the end, everyone looks safe, and the terrorist is down. Now he can rest assured that he prevented the tragedy, except...the terrorist is still alive. Just as the cop turns his head to look, the terrorist pulls his gun and shoots him in the head. After all his effort to save a life, he looses his own. John Doe: Calypso asks John Doe if he's sure he wants to know his past. John tells Calypso that he does want to know and Calypso, true to his words, reveals the past for him. John realizes that he was an FBI agent, deep undercover in a skinhead gang. They were going to bomb a building, and he ran back in at the last minute to throw the bomb out the window. John realizes that he's a hero and he has a family and a good life. Unfortunately Calypso is #2 on the Top 10 on the FBI's most wanted list. Calypso turns a gun on John Doe, and kills him on the spot. Is that kinda what you were looking for? If so, I'll post more of the endings.

Seeing it on the GBA screen is a totally different story than seeing it on a screen shot.
