Originally posted by The Vampire: Ed I think SoE was good for a whole half hour, then it goes down hill into boredom. I started liking it again after I got out of the Chaos mode, and played Revolution mode. It's a mission based mode, and it makes it a little fun to play again. But once again it get's old fast. Fun for a little while, but in the long runs its boring, dull, and tedious.
Yeah, I agree. There was no substance to the game other than shock value. Basically, the game road the coat tails of Grand Theft Auto 3. I'm not really looking forward to the film. It probably won't be anything like the game. Most likely, it'll be a poor man's Die Hard or Lethal Weapon.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail The games are coming along very well at the moment, like Spiderman (can't wait 'till I get that one ;)), and Gauntlet..... there's a variety of good games coming out on the GCN, that's another reason why I like it aswell....
I know what you mean. Variety in Nintendo's first party games is always nice. I mean, no one can say that Nintendo doesn't please a wide audience. I mean, look at Smash Bros, Pikmin, Metroid Prime, Mario Sunshine and Wave Race. They certainly don't stick to one particular genre, that's for sure.
Originally posted by NeoCactuar Now... they are coming to Nintendo, and I couldn't be happier. Being the proud owner of a GBA, I would love to see RE make it to the handheld world, and with the new 3D engine that has been unveiled for the GBA, the dream is closer than ever.
You know, on paper that sounds good, but I think that a three dimensional Resident Evil would have its share of problems on the GameBoy Advance. The main thing that comes to my mind is poor visibility dragging things down. The backgrounds in Resident Evil are usually pretty dark and I don't think they would translate well onto the GameBoy Advance. Especially since it would be a pain seeing some items. And I heard about a new mode in the GameCube Resident Evil that creates even further difficulty in carrying items. From what I understand, the item boxes wouldn't be a network. If Chris deposited a shotgun in a box within the mansion, he couldn't access it in the sewers. I wonder if that's true....then again, I'm not sure I would want to play that way anyway. :drunk:
Originally posted by *-- RagnaroK--* Anyone out there that has any knowledge of the story lines and endings, or any other cut scenes through out the game with each character please tell me i am killing myself here!!! The reason is that ever since september the 11th, most violent games have been delayed, banned, or cut, in this case TM: B has been cut. Over here in the UK and there in the US it has been "CUT". I know one thing for sure, that the Japenese version is..... UNCUT, i am sooo tempted to buy it but dont know if its in english. SOMEBODY HELP ME OUT HERE!!!!!!!
I'm very familiar with theuncensored version of the game. But, I'm unfamiliar with the cut version, so let me know what exactly you want covered and I'll be glad to discuss it with you. The nature of this topic is to reveal spoliers, so I'll change the thread's name to indicate that. Nothing makes people more annoyed than stumbling across spoilers.
Originally posted by James Does that make the PS2 bad? Of course not. If you can find games on the console that you like, then you've made a good investment. The same goes for any other console out there.
Yep, 'tis true, 'tis true. The only problem is when the crap games drown out the good titles. *Still waiting for Panzer Dragoon Xbox*
Originally posted by Squashed Snail And why is Bradshaw facing a could be real life suspension? what did he do?
He got into an altercation with Micheal Hayes on the flight back from England. This altercation ended up with "someone" cuttiong/shaving off Hayes's mullet and hanging it up for public display.

Well, Bloody Roar: Primal Fury is the only traditional fighting game for the GameCube and will be for quite some time. Also, the roster finally has a bruiser (think Zangief). So, it's somewhat well balanced also. But the game is somewhat primitive and won't appease fighting game purists. As a human, you've only got a punch and a kick button to master your skills with. So, if this game were an ocean, it definitely wouldn't be the deepest one in the world. All in all, don't spend the cash if you're a hardcore fighting fan. But, if you're a rookie-go for it. Maybe it'll prep you for Soul Calibur 2 later this year. ;)
Originally posted by ShadowGohan No, mod chips are unavailable now. Sony found all of the companies that made them, then sued them. I found out when I went into Computer Exchange... I really need one so that I can get Capcom Vs. SNK 2. But aren't there disc things, like on the PSX, where you can put the disc in, then take it out, and put in the imported game?
That's not entirely true. Sony's crackdown on mod chips was primarily in the U.K. It's actually quite easy to find sites that still sell them.... As for the disc, well, when the PSX boots up, it performs two checks on the CD inside the PSX. One of these checks looks for the country code, which tells the PSX what country the CD was created in. If the code matches the code that is located in the PSX BIOS (Basic Input/Output System), the boot procedure will continue. For example, a Japanese CD is not playable on a US Playstation because of the country code check. The second check looks for bad blocks at certain locations on the CD. Since only Sony's CD recorders can produce these, the presence of bad blocks tell the PSX that the CD is authentic. If they are not there, the PSX halts the boot process. There have been several methods to get around this check. The first is the famous swap trick method, which has many variants. Sony caught on, however, and modified the BIOS further so that swapping would not work. So, really, I don't know if a disc is a good idea....

I'm definitely going to get the game because I've been dying to play a decent DragonBallZ game for ages. The main problems that I've heard about it is that it's difficult, slightly repetitious and the combat boss battles could have been more involving. On the bright side there's supposedly some engaging maze-like levels, sidequests and it stays faithful to the show.
Originally posted by The Vampire: Ed I definitely don't think PS2 is crap, I was merely using it as an example in the games department. I mean we've got to admit it, but the PS2 does have a lot of crappy games. They've got a lot of good ones as well, but with the amount of games they're pumping out ofcourse you will find a couple crappy ones in the bunch. But these days I have an open mind about games, and systems. Because so far, no system really sucks. The XBox is great thus far, as well is the Game Cube. But both Microsoft, and Nintendo need to start cranking out more games if they want to be anywhere near as successful as Sony. Like I said just stick around a little while, and pure greatness will come of the XBox and Game Cube. PS2 is close to greatness, but with all of the games they release they need to start setting standards.
Hmmm, I don't think that the PS2 is having as great a problem with poor titles as the original PSX had. There are just so many phenominal titles coming out of the pipes, that it's quite easy to avoid the lackluster titles. When the original PSX debuted, a lot of developers made poor games that demonstrated the basics of polygon technology, while providing little substance. Battle Arena Toshinden is a prime example. That game combined awesome character designs and graphics, but failed to deliver rewarding gameplay. As the Playstation and the series aged, we saw newer titles combining rewarding gameplay with snazzy graphics. Thus, Toshinden faded away into obscurity. Heck, some people rushed out crap because there was nothing else to rival it. Look at Beyond the Beyond. There was no effort put into that title to establish it as a leap up from the 16-Bit systems. However, since there were no RPGs, Sony was able to rush it out the door and even sell a few copies. You say that Microsoft and Nintendo need to start cranking out titles to keep up with Sony, but I couldn't disagree more. Xbox has had more titles than GameCube recently, but that doesn't mean that people will buy them. A lot of horrible titles actually reflects badly on the system. I mean, the obvious goal of a new console is to establish a user base by making quality titles that people will buy in the future. Really, you're setting a double standard here. You're saying that both Nintendo and Xbox need to pump out more games, but Sony needs to release more quality titles and less bad ones. Always remember that with a lot of titles, comes a lot of bad ones. I think that the most important thing is releasing a variety of titles that appeal to a large audience.

Wow, Final Fantasy Anthology was released a long time ago in the U.S. (late 1999, I think). For us, it was FFV and FFVI. Unless they released FFVI on its own in the U.K., I can't see it being called an anthology. An anthology often refers to a collection, thus one game can't be a collection. There must be a mistake on your receipt.
Originally posted by SSJ Gotenks ok And cwb so was brolli's dad strong??? and who defeated him??? And did vegeta believe him??:D
Nah, his dad wasn't that strong. He never fought, but judging on how he used his son to fight his battles for him, I'm assuming he's weak. It's obvious that he isn't even a Super Saiya-jin. In the end, Brolly killed his father by crushing him in a space pod when he tried to escape the New Planet Vegeta and leave him for dead. I don't think that Vegeta really believed him. He was mainly interested in fighting the legendary Super Saiya-jin that Paragus spoke of.
Originally posted by James I read that if you don't blow their head off, or burn them, they come back to life and are stronger/faster than ever. Does that negatively affect gameplay, or do you guys think it actually makes the game more exciting?
I think that it definitely makes the game more exciting. The Crimson Head zombies are a really neat idea. There's nothing like forgetting to truly kill a zombie, only to come back sometime later to find it rushing at you with huge claws. It just feels that much closer to being a full-fledged B Horror film. There is a drawback though. Sadly, Capcom didn't put in the ability to drop items like they're doing with Resident Evil Zero. I'm playing through Jill's game right now and it's really a pain in the neck carrying around a lighter and the oil (which needs to be refilled after every two uses). I can just imagine the backtracking I'll be forced to do with Chris because of that oil can taking up a whole space. :bawl:
Originally posted by SSJ4BROLLI no one really gets suspended in the wwf....sorry wwE. it's just a cover up so people can do other things. like when the rock got suspened a while ago. that's when he was filming the scorpion king. when they say that they are suspended it's just so that they can do other projects or recover without the people knowing that they are hurt.
Well, that's not entirely true. The Road Dogg was suspended repeatedly for drug use. Likewise, Latino Heat was suspended for similar reasons. Most of the time, wrestlers are punished by losing their push or television time. But, sometimes they are punished by real-life suspensions, which is what Bradshaw might possibly be facing. Real suspensions are never handed out on television though...
Originally posted by SSJ Gotenks ok Were was he at?????Where did he come from???I havent downloaded that movie yet but i will after i finish downloading the manjin buu saga.:)
Well, it all started on Earth where Paragus (Brolly's father) comes to Earth seeking Vegeta. In a nutshell, he wants Vegeta to return with him to Planet "New Vegeta." Most of the movie takes place on this planet constructed to fool Vegeta. Paragus probably didn't count on Gokou showing up though. Because Gokou made Brolly cry as a baby, Brolly loses control and tries to kill everyone.
Originally posted by The Vampire: Ed Minor correction Sephiroth. The line is "Jill sandwich", and like Crazy White Boy said. It was removed. Bah! They also had the nerves to removes the "I've got THIS!" line that Barry use to say while holding up his Magnum. That was a great little line, and they replaced it with "I like the buddy system I've got right here." So stupid...
Yeah, but do you know what I miss the most, besides those classic lines? Of course, it's the ability to stomp on a Zombie's head! I've noticed that they don't grab at your legs anymore when they're down. Well, at least Capcom put in the ability to burn them with oil and the lighter.

You can get a chip to play imported games on the PS2. I don't know about on PS2, but on PSX, Mod chips have to be installed internally, not just by removing the plastic covering, but the motor, shielded metal plate, etc. to get to the circuit board, and then has to be soldered on to the circuit board (this not only voids the warranty but can be fatal to your Playstation if done wrong). In addition, no certified Playstation technician will ever even attempt to fix a modded Playstation that has problems any time after you have installed the mod chip. If your Playstation breaks, removing the mod chip itself and all visible signs that there was once a mod chip there in order to get it fixed by a certified Playstation technician is almost impossible. Therefore, if you install a mod chip in your Playstation and it breaks down either right away or later on in the future, don't expect any certified Playstation technician to look at it. I assume the same is true for PS2. As far as I know ModChips themselves aren't illegal. However, the chips can also be used to play copied and pirated titles on the console, which is where Sony starts to get annoyed; software titles are where it makes its money on the consoles. Sony had turned a blind eye to the mod-chip market over the past six years, but suddenly decided to crack down on them. For more information on mod chips, I suggest you read this thread. Screwing up your PS2 for such a crappy game is a big risk. I highly recommend that you don't try to install a mod chip into your PS2.

Brolly is a Saiya-jin and quite evil at that. Well, I don't know if it's more a case of evil or madness. Brolly was controlled by his father from a young age because he was hard to control. Brolly's main problem is that his power overwhelms him and he doesn't have the mental stability to control them as a hero. In short, he really just wants to destroy everything because of his rage and the power that consumes him.
Originally posted by The Vampire: Ed Well, it may just be my opinion but I feel the series really went down hill. WAY down hill. I myself loved Mega Man games. I've played every single one that was made. From Mega Man 1 to Mega Man Legends. However I've never had the oppertunity to play Mega Man Legends 2, but I don't know if I'd want to. I mean the last couple Mega Man games, specificly in the Mega Man X series, were very VERY boring. Dull, and tedious to be exact. Nothing new or interesting were in them, and I'd gladly pick any Mega Man for the NES or Mega Man X for SNES over any newer ones. Those were definitely a lot funner to play.
I know where you're coming from. The most fun I had with a Mega Man X game was with Mega Man X2 for the Super Nintendo. The spin-off on the main series was nice back then, but its been way over done since then and exceeded its true purpose. Now we're just seeing cash-in Mega Man titles.
Originally posted by The Vampire: Ed Well, it's not just a GCN controller in general. The hook up will also allow you to play GBA games on your TV set, at least that's the way it looked/sounded on the GBA box.
Hmm, you need a special peripheral to actually play your GBA games on a television. These types of peripherals usually involve opening up the GBA, which voids the warranty. I've heard that some of them are really delicate too. But, referring to what you said, no, hooking up the GBA to your TV set won't allow you to play them on the television. Refer to Desbreko's post for a general idea of what the connectivity allows. ;)

How did I join the boards? It wasn't in April, March or November, but during a May that I specifically remember. So sit back and have a bite before it becomes stale. Listen to the White Boy's historical tale. The sun did not shine. It was too wet to play. So I sat in the house all that cold, cold, wet day. I sat there with Sally. We sat there, we two. And I said, "How I wish we had something to do!" Too wet to go out and too cold to play ball. So we sat in the house. We did nothing at all. So all we could do was to Sit! Sit! Sit! Sit! And we did not like it. Not one little bit. We played with the computer and that was it. And then something went BUMP! How that bump made us jump! We looked! Then we saw him step in on the mat! We looked! And we saw him! The Cat in the Hat! And he said to us, "Why do you sit there like that?" "I know it is wet And the sun is not sunny. But we can have Lots of good fun that is funny!" "I know some good sites we could surf," Said the cat. "The otakuboards are my turf," Said the Cat in the Hat. " I will show them to you. Your mother will not mind at all if I do." Then Sally and I Did not know what to say. Our mother was out of the house for the day. But our fish said, "No! No! Make that cat go away! Tell that Cat in the Hat You do NOT want to join the otakuboards today . He should not be here. He should not be about. He should not be here When your mother is out!" "Now! Now! Have no fear. Have no fear!" said the cat. "The boards are not bad. They bring cheer" Said the Cat in the Hat. "Why, we can have Lots of good fun if you wish and after posting a little you'll forget about this stupid fish. Avatars and singatures the boards did possess. But before White Boy they were but a mess! No enemy of cats or their health, I ditched Sally and kept the Cat in the Hat for myself. So that is how I joined the boards on that very rainy day. That is why you are reading this whacked out post today. :toothy: -
