You can bet your bottom dollar that I'll see this movie. I'm a huge Rock fan and I'm really anxious to see what he can do in a movie with more than ten seconds of screen time. Some say that he could be the next big action star. Well, we'll see, but I doubt it's as good as any of Hogan's movies. :drunk:
Originally posted by jcgoudy Actually, I think I'd like a 3D Rampage. The 2D ones were fun, in a mindless sort of way, and I think it'd be even better in 3D. You'd have four sides of a building to smash, instead of just two... :whoops:
Yeah, but after like a hundred levels of doing the same thing over and over again, you have to admit it gets kinda old. There was no real gameplay innovation in any of the sequels, which qualified Rampage for handheld ports--not poor N64 or PSX games.

I doubt that Buu ever surfaced in Marai no Trunks's timeline. It would be kind of hard to gather energy to release him when all of the world's strongest warriors (except for Trunks, of course) are dead along with most of the population. Having said that, I doubt Trunks ever reached a higher level of Saiya-jin. He doesn't really have a fighting spirit as an adult. The only reason he trained his whole life was to defeat the androids. Unlike Mirai no Gohan, he wasn't trying to live up to his father's power at all. With the threat gone, he probably just settled back and lead an ordinary life.

Ugh, wizards and archers are a major pain in the butt. A good strategy to defeat wizards is to have a wizard (if you have one) cast spells on other wizards, or a squire attack the wizards at close range. In short, give them a taste of their own medicine. It would also help to have a chemist with the phoenix down ability, because the combo of spells and arrows is going to kill your units if they aren't healed regularly. If you survive long enough, the wizards will have their MP drained out. Take the opportunity to cancel any attacks you have placed on the wizards and instead attack other units. The wizards usually only do around 8 points of physical damage. With this strategy you should have those suckers licked.

Oh man, I used to love Godzilla when I was younger and I have to say that my love for gigantic monsters that smash the heck out of things still rings true. By the sounds of it, the game engine will be based on a "living world" kinda like Shenmue and GTA3. These formulas are pretty much hit and miss, so we'll see. Yesterday I finally snagged a GameCube and got a free copy of Wave Race to boot. *Rubs hands together evilly* Yes, my collection is finally complete. So, I probably will check Godzilla out, out of pure curiosity. One could only wish that the puny humans were selectable. Imagine an online game where a bunch of players tackled Godzilla. Although it won't be in this game, it sure is awesome to think about. As long as the final product isn't too much like Rampage, I'll be set....
Originally posted by Sephiroth I think this draft thing sucks, we'll be seeing less of booker t now....
That's not a bad thing........that's a GOOD thing! :toothy: Anyway, they're doing the split because they have an over abundance of talent. Everyone wants air time.

I'm definitely a fan. I've been watching it since I was a kid. Unfortunately I know it so well that I can actually call spots in matches before the wrestlers actually notice them. Also, I notice them blading and whispering what spots to pull of next. It's amazing what you pick up after a while. I still watch it though because it does manage to surprise me once and a while. TLC made me glad to be a wrestling fan.

I dunno, I think that Piccolo remains a very important character in the series, unlike the others mentioned. Then again, most of that importance probably isn't on the battle field.
Originally posted by Herman Nation What in the blue hell are you talkig abot???!!! Goku as a kid went all the way to SSj3!!! What the hell are you saying???? He fought Bebi Vegita-sama in SSj3!!! So yes he does go SSj! Oh and i'm betting you that this topic get's closed!
Sheesh, calm down a little bit Herman. Go ahead and take a deep breath. Feel better? Okay, now take a seditive and call me in the morning. ;) Actually, Goku wasn't truly able to turn SSJ3 as a child. In DBGT, although small, he still has the benefit of all his years of training.

There, threads combined. ;) Anyway, whether those are the real screens are not (although it's pretty certain that they are) I'm very unimpressed. Like I said, the GBA version is nice, but I hope they clean up the PS2 version a little.

I haven't played the game in a long time, but in case you're confused, you can do the puzzle without knowing Japanese. As far as I remember you can find small phrases and after you find enough of them it's possible to look at them and make sense of the puzzles.

And for the record, someone can defend something because it's the right thing to do. Don't be so narrow minded about life. Say someone comes here making prejudice remarks about black people and I take a stance against them...does that mean I'm black? Sheesh. If you didn't have anything against gay people you wouldn't have even asked over such a trivial reason because it wouldn't have mattered to you.

Hey, I have some really good news regarding this topic--Virtua Fighter is actually coming to GameCube as confirmed by Yu Suzuki himself.
Specifically, Yu Suzuki referred to this game as "Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary Special Project." He described its genre as action-adventure in which story is important, and also threw in the term RPG a couple of times. Note that Suzuki made sure to specify that this is not a Virtua Fighter Kids type of game.
You know, even though Virtua Fighter Kids might have played intelligently, I'm glad that it's not coming to GameCube. It's all about image. I swear I could have pictured umpteen ten year olds complaining that GameCube is a kid's system. This action/rpg is set to appear in 2003 for the series 10th anniversary. Sega really seems to be pulling out all the stops for GameCube as of late...

Hey, congratulations triad! You know, it's great that these boards have kept around so many long-time members. It just goes to show you how many great times these forums have had. My little old anniversary is coming up May 18th. Heck, maybe I can create a little journal of my own. I really don't know how interesting it'll be, but at least it'll give me the chance to star in my own story.:toothy: Anyway, congrats once again you three and here's to more good times for all of you. *makes toast*

He must be talking about when she got absorbed by Cell. In DBGT, Krillin gets killed by Android 17, and she's the one who gets mad. 17 doesn't kill her though.
Originally posted by Zidane Thanks CWB :) What did you feel about Breath of Fire? I think that's another classic. Also I'm going to buy Legend of Mana I think in the states. All my dollars gone after that (*sniffs*) Oh well!
Breath of Fire is okay. For some reason I liked the last one Capcom released more than the first one that came out for PSX. I do think that they need to try a little harder with the series to bring it up to par with the competition. Legend of Mana is a really good game. The graphics kinda remind me of Saga Frontier 2, which isn't a bad thing.
Originally posted by Zero_dude the split came at the right time think about you have all these stars from wwf, wcw, and ecw all in one they all need tv time. they are not splitting the ppv's before the wwf was even talking about the split publicly there was a backlash ad that said ric flairs raw wrestlers will take on vince mcmahons smackdown wrestlers.
Well, I don't know, I still just don't feel that it's a good time. Sure, wrestlers will get more television time on one show, but they'll be totally absent from another. Also, the ratings were down for quite a while. Not that they're just starting to climb again, I don't know if cutting the talent in half is such a great idea. If anything, they could have just added one more show. Maybe I'll be wrong and things will work out, I don't know. But if they are to work out, WWF will have to iron out many of the roster and programming issues. And Nerdsy, I know what you mean. Did you see when Kane jobbed to Test?! The old Big Red Machine is where it's at. I remember he used to pummel at least seven guys at once. Oh well, seems like he'll be pushed as a top face of Raw now.
Originally posted by Nerdsy Actually, it happened 4 days ago. ;) The split also led to the worst Kane promo of all time. Gah, that will forever ruin him... Did anyone see it tonight? >.
Originally posted by kuja not a single game you mentioned impresses me. all of them are very short... on in the case of GTA3 violence doesnt impress me one bit... that game is all hormones but not worth a rental. ill admit MGS2 look impressive and all... but GTA3 is a peice of crap. anyway. fighting games gcn has IMO... super smash brothers melee one of a kind and the best selling one out there. stratagy can u say pikmin? (ICO is the only ps2 one out there that got any attention and it is sadly short) sports games are just for dumb jocks... u have to realize that while i am an athlete i am also probably one of the smartest people here ;) with an IQ one point short of a genius and an international diploma from high school ;) unless it makes me think i dont want it... which is y STORYLINE is important to me. sports um duh NONE. racing is the same as sports to me... thou mario kart/ctr are ok. now as we all know i liked the psx better than the 64. so im not a nintendo fan boy or anything. i just like the potential of the cube better. the ps2 is too SHORT on all the games... i spent days on everything but pikmin that is three times longer than ICO which is what a game should be based on not this 7 hour crap or i beat it in a day go me im a real gamer! BS
Hehe, I wasn't really trying to impress you, seeing as how you didn't really blast another system. You clearly stated it was your own opinion and I can't really argue with that. I really do disagree with your claims that GTA3 is a lackluster game. Sure, it offers a lot of carnage, but there's just so much to do, it ends up being an enjoyable game. I mean, they basically have a mini game that is better than the first Crazy Taxi and there's a tribute to Midnight Racing to boot. Overall, I was very impressed with just how much substance there was in GTA2 and its funfactor--not the adult content. As for fighting games, I think that Virtua Fighter 4 offers a nice experience on the PS2. It's a different kind of game altogether than Smash Bros, but it's no slouch. I was shocked at how much they refined the gameplay this time around. I don't really think that sports games are for dumb jocks for that matter either. I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but some of the better football games require strategy. I've never played online NFL2K, but I'm sure it would be freaking cool. I know you're not a fanboy or anything. After all, we do spearhead the Sony section together.;) I just love getting my alternative views across.
Originally posted by Heaven's Cloud I don't think the split wll last but a week or so before we see wrestlers encroaching n each others shows
Hehe, speaking of that, I've heard that Vince will be on Raw to "sign" Austin. We'll see...
Originally posted by kuja i think after that they will probably go exclusive gcn making almost no reason for me to look at sony systems... they dont have that many decent games outside of rpgs (imo since i dont like much else)
I know it's your opinion, but don't make me slap you boy. I'll do it....knock you right upside your head. *walks off mumbling and comes back* C'mon, you know you wanna go on a little espionage action with Snake/Raiden or terrorize Liberty City as a thug. There are plenty of quality games on PS2, especially after this past holiday season. Plus, we can't forget hits like ATV Offroad or Ico. I'm not even going to name them all, because I don't have enough fingers to count 'em sucka. Basically, they have every genre cornered for now. I'm not trying to be biased, it's just that I'm kinda impressed at the ratio of quality games vs. crap games. Anyway, I doubt that Square will go exclusive to Nintendo......then again, Capcom did with Resident Evil, so who knows?

I think that this split came at the wrong time. Wrestling is not as popular as it once was. Splitting the stars could pose a major problem. The best example I've heard is, "A sitcom can have six really good actors, but does that mean that you should split them into two sitcoms starring three people each?" Also it's very lop-sided. Expect many "trades" to occur within the next six months, until both shows have similar levels of talent. Hopefully, they'll trade an APA member for a Dudley member. The APA might have the charisma to make it in singles, but I have high doubts on the Dudley Boys. The worst part about this whole thing is that some areas don't get SmackDown. Now many fans will only be able to see half of their favorite stars. I just hope that they don't split pay per views. Blech.

:smirk: The whole "mildly interesting" title is supposed to come off as an understatement, just in case you guys didn't pick that up. Hehe, but anyway, there is a really neat piece from a press conference up at Gamespot if anyone's interested. Toshihiro Nagoshi, the creator of Daytona, and Shigeru Miyamoto answer some interesting questions, such as how they feel about working with one another. It turns out that Nintendo and Sega are codeveloping two F-Zero games. One version will be for the GameCube and the other will be called F-Zero AC for Nintendo's Triforce arcade board, which is currently in development by Sega's Amusement Vision development studio. Also, according to reports, both versions will be linked together using the GameCube Memory Card 59. So, does anyone think that Sega's partial takeover will benefit the series? I'm not a big F-Zero fan, but didn't Miyamoto do most of the work on the previous versions? I myself wonder if Sega's efforts could live up to that. Then again, their mascot is known for his super speed.
Originally posted by tronic was ff1 a 2-dementional im just curious because yall are talking about 2-dementional
Yep, it was two-dimensional all right. I came out on the Famicom, which isn't exactly a polygonal pushing machine. Polygonal gaming didn't start in consoles unil Star Fox on SNES if memory serves me correctly. And, of course we're true gamers Zidane!:) I'm very impressed with these great rpg purchases you're making. You know your stuff, that's for sure.
