It's a fact that the characters of Final Fantasy IX are meant to be super deformed. That is what the creators had in mind. They wanted the gamers to get an innocent game that harkened back to the days of pure fantasy before they went on with the more realistic art style found in FFX. It's true that FF VII's were in anime style, but when you walk around in the game they have huge heads and funny proportions. Whether that was intentional or not, it allows them to also fall into the super deformed category.
Originally posted by kuja why would they go threw all the trouble to make the escape scene if they didnt live? i mean yea i understand that holy is to defeate all that is dangerous to the world and all... but then it would have to destroy everything that lived, plans, animals, humans, EVERYTHING along with the earth itself because of volcano's floods, earthquakes EVERYTHING must go leaving you with nothing, so that it cant be harmed! anyway i just think that the town was just overrun cause it was a symbol of evil and no one dared live there anymore... i dont think aeris would kill everyone to save the planet because without humans the world is totally different and another species becomes 'civilized' in there own way
You leave me no choice but to pick this apart. *cracks knuckles* They would try to make the escape from the crater for obvious reasons. First of all, it's human nature to try to survive. Humans exist to reproduce and continue the race as does any other animal. Secondly, they had no clue as to whether defeating Sephiroth or not would release holy. I believe that it was a "well, it's worth a try" attitude. Why just stay there and wait for death? They did not know in fact if holy would kill them, but more on that later. Next up on your points is the destruction of all life on earth. Do you remember the part where Buganhagen(Spelling is probably waaaaay off, but bear with me) and the others took a glimpse into the stream and saw Aeris's death? Before they left, they suggested that holy would destroy all life that threatens Earth. Animals, birds and plants are closely tied with nature and do nothing to harm the planet. Humans on the other hand were responsible for the Shinra organization and robbing of Mako energy from the land. It's as if humans were sucking the life directly out of the planet. Earthquakes, volcanos and floods do nothing to jepordize the planet as a whole. Those natural disasters threaten the creation of man. There has never been an earthquake large enough to destroy the earth. If you believe in a certain theory, one split up the land into continents. That's as far as it goes. Cloud and the others wondered if holy would be directed at their species because of man's destruction on the planet...trust me, it's in there. Aeris calling holy was a last resort. As you remember, she left Cloud and the others after he totally thrashed her. She obviously recognized Seph's control over him and the fact that he regained the means to summon Meteor. If you were her, you'd feel that there was no way to win. Her prayer to the planet was a last resort and one that only she was capable of doing. Her goal was to save the planet. Aeris was a pure character that would sacrifice her own life to save the planet. To her, as a Cetra, it was most important that it continue to live. You can only speculate the ending. I believe, as I have said, that the resolution was one of symbolism. Midgar was the central unit of human technology and sin towards the planet. Midgar was the center of the Shinra's power and drained the planet of it's life force. When the planet cries out, it's obviously because of this. To show a prime example of a former center of human life covered in foilage and vestige is a symbol as if to say, "Nature has reclaimed what man has taken." No humans were shown for a reason. If mankind had lived, you would have most likely seen them living in peace with the planet.

My favorite moves to watch are The People's elbow and just about anything in Rob Van Dam's arsenal. However, the chokeslam and just about every other move can hurt people and quite effectively if not done properly. I echo his concern...

Why do I use the otakuboards? I guess it's because there's a good variety of forums in which to delve into intelligent debate, post opinions, roleplay, stare at my brand spankin' new Kitty avatar and crack jokes. The boards also have a pretty diverse user base. One can learn a lot from some of these folks, like how to spell woe for instance!

It's time to inject this Fight Club with a dose of poison! It's time to inject it with the nJo. That's right, the New Jersey Order is back and ready to go. Let's get this straight, I ruled this club before by bringing Safer down! Foredady might now be an enigma and Fish may be but a memory, but the original badboy, the original behind slapping, fried chicken eating, trash talking icon is back. All of you are pathetic losers! In Las Vegas, you even lose money on the stamp machines. Bring on the challengers, I'll knock them down like a bunch of three cornered dominoes. After all, I am the home of the whooper. I serve one billion butt whoopings daily!

Darn you Sephiroth! When will you see past this veil of "happiness?" Did they or did they not acknowledge the fact that holy will do away with all that is dangerous to the Earth's well being? Why would Aeris summon holy? To destroy Meteor? Why would it destroy meteor? Because it's dangerous to the planet. Even if it meant sacrificing the entire human race, she would have no choice but to summon it to save the planet. It's all about symbolism, when they show the world overrun by nature and beauty. It's just my take though. Oh it's true, Booker S. It's damn true.

Well he appeared in both Final Fantasy Tactics and Ergheiz as hidden characters. As for what happened to him officially in Final Fantasy VII, just beat the game and interpret for yourself. No one can give you an exact answer as the ending is much debated between two possible conclusions. That's my take anyway.

Babi-dee's evil seemed to plunge the night's atmosphere into further darkness. The wicked sorcerer's eyes burned hotter than the evil blood that flowed through is archaic veins. The jade fighter, removed from Hell's dancing flames, Piccolo clenched his fists tightly and emitted small sparks of energy that crackled in the air. Andrew glanced at Piccolo, a cold shiver running up his spine, upon noticing the brave Namek's knees ever so slightly tremble. "What's wrong Piccolo," Andrew asked flatly, never fully removing his eyes from the sorcerer, "Majin Buu has been dead for years right? This guy's no match for our power by himself." Beads of sweat, ran down Piccolo's head, crooked like an elbow at his temple, and dropped to the dusty ground below. "Something's....not.......right..," he muttered, the breeze carrying his words away softly. "He knows that he is no match for us in physical battle. There must be someone that he-" The long forgotten sorcerer's raspy cackle, familiar only to the ears of Piccolo, cut through the air like a knife. "I do say," Babi-dee laughed, "Earth is quite pleasant. No matter how many times I try to destroy this miserable pile of rubble, there's always a welcoming committee waiting for me!" Andrew growled, and lept forward at the intimidating stranger, only to feel Piccolo's strong hand grasp his shoulder. Piccolo's eyes said what his words could not. "What do you intend to do, Babi-dee," Piccolo shouted, losing his composure, "your Majin Buu failed. You know longer hold a grip on this planet. By arriving here you have already sealed your own fate." Tossing his turban and cape aside, making huge craters in the Earth with their impact, Piccolo continued, "I don't know how you came back, but I'm sending you back to hell Babi-dee." Clasping his thin fingers together, the wretched sorcerer hissed, "Just like that pesky Supreme Kai, always mettling in my affairs. But, I'm glad you're here. This time I have something in store for you that will be much greater than that worthless Majin Buu!" "Greater than Majin Buu," Piccolo shouted in surprise, "Impossible!" Thrusting his arms into the air, Babi-dee yelled, "Oh, but it's true, for there are two warriors of much greater power than Majin Buu, and both with an evil hand holding onto their hearts. I shall use that evil hand to bring them both down to my will!" Like a recurring nightmare, the words "Parapa pa" haunted the earth. Clouds swarmed together into a gigantic hulk of forboding mayhem; lightning dotted the landscape. Far off on the battle field, the eyes of a warrior who had suffered through the battle of good and evil within his soul all of his twisted life, sprang to consciousness. "I've followed this one for a very long time, "Babi-dee shouted before both Piccolo and Andrew, "And now I can help him achieve his full power. Mephistopheles, the mixture of the two dominant beings of the former planet, Vegita will become the eternal being of the Universe. It is in his blood!" Raiha and Blank looked on curiously as Mephistopheles's eyes shot open in terror and his scream pierced the earth. Clutching the throbbing veins at his temple, the dark warrior seemed to be ripped from the ground and forced to his feet by an invisible force....an invisible force that could be felt by the soul. In a blinding flash of light, Mephistopheles rose into the air, his arms spread out into a Christ-like pose. Before his eyes flashed visions of death, destruction and pain. Beyond all of his visions were the eyes of Babi-dee. All at once, the normal limitations of Mephistopheles's physical confines are shattered. The demonic mixed ethnic's garb ripped and gave way as his muscular build exploded; his cream colored skin darkening as evil permeated his rich blood. Cut my life into pieces This is my last resort Suffocation No breathing Don't give a damn if I cut my arm, bleeding This is my last resort Cut my life into pieces I?ve reached my last resort Suffocation No breathing Don't give a damn if I cut my arm, bleeding Do you even care if I die bleeding? Would it be wrong? Would it be right? If I took my life tonight Chances are that I might Mutilation outta sight And I?m contemplating suicide Cuz I?m losing my sight Losing my mind Wish somebody would tell me I?m fine Losing my sight Losing my mind Wish somebody would tell me I?m fine As the inferno of unbridled enegy died down, Mephistopheles's feet gently touched the ground. Prepared for battle he is shirtless, his perfectly sculpted torso revealing the deadly inkings of snakes on his bronze skin. Looking up with snake like eyes, and a blazing "M" engraved in his forehead he no longer hungers to destroy himself and all Saiya-jins, he no longer cares about the well being of the universe. Now he lives only to please Babi-dee. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Note: Music lyrics are just in there for fun. I thought that it would be pretty cool to include them.
Originally posted by Sephiroth what are you talking about? cloud gets revived? he never died in the first place....
I'm pretty sure that he's referring to the "everyone dies in the ending" theory. Since he referred to Red XIII reviving everyone it's the safest bet. Red reviving everyone doesn't make much sense though....

I can see where you're coming from with this point. Japanese Anime cutscenes are a wonderful form of art. When people draw something, they are literally pouring forth effort from their heart and through their fingertips to create a vision. Some may feel that these cutscenes emit a certain warmness, or friendliness that makes CG cinematics seem cold. However, seeing things in this way is like looking through a vacuum. I feel that when companies such as Square, Namco or Capcom are behind the product, the CG cinematics are just as beautiful as anime and truly capture the emotion of the characters. In any case, I believe that Square's CG is as much a work of art as Japanese Anime. In anycase, it's the actual gameplay that matters. The cinematics are just there to move the storyline forward. In a bit of news that might please you, FFX mostly uses a slightly enhanced version of it's in game engine to move the storyline forward instead of relying on CG for the most part.

.......and my beloved Rams fall! Woah as me! I knew that this would happen! NFL Football is fixed! Everyone knows that the Rams are a better team on paper! This is an outrage! Vinnie Mac may as well be pulling the strings behind closed doors! Then again, it's only a game!

Anime i got 2 pics an would like anyones opinion....
Charles replied to r_macs's topic in Otaku Central
I like them both. You captured the overall look of the characters pretty well. My only critcism is that they could use a little shading and detail. On a side note, I think that Kuririn looks like a Ninja Turtle. Not just yours, but even in the series. -
I've never played Tekken 4, but I'm pretty sure that the levels aren't quite as large as DOA2:Hardcore. You can count on lots of extras and deep gameplay though. When choosing between Virtua Fighter 4 and Tekken 4, you're looking at two bonafide classic fighters. Your decision will rest on which gameplay style you prefer more. Virtua Fighter requires much time to master each fighter's fighting style. The same could be said of Tekken, but for some reason it just seems easier to pick up and play.

Final Fantasy VII? Never heard of it. Actually, it's my favorite in Square's series next to FFX. I got so involved as to get the S rank Chocobo, all of the materia and up to level 99. I can't remember if I did it fairly or not though. I'm pretty sure that I did.

Yuck man, Ferrets stink like poop! Those critters look like a rat after it spent night out with the boys and got smashed. Their faces are all like, "Look at me, I'm ugly looking and my nose is sharp!" Get them away from me!
Originally posted by SuperSayian I'll post a fight in this soon, but I have to say somethings first... 1: White, you are so not getting my character right! Hell, you're not getting his moves right! Look. Psychic Blast is unblockible, and pretty much INSTANT. Blank would never talk about anything. If you want to see him in something else, and how he would really act, look here 2: I bet Rai was goin ''Oh, shi-" when she saw what you said about me. Why? You'll have to wait til I post...Bwahahahahahahahahahah! 3: *cough* Blank teleports himself to places...-.- 4: Raiha is about the strongest Mage around...So, don't try to uhhhhh........screw around with her, or she'll use Silver Kiss on ya...;)....-.-;;;;;; 5: Blank is NOT a pure Sayian. What else is he? You'll find out....later.....Bwahahahahahahahahaha! That is all..............for now.......
Oh man, I'm sorry about that. What do you mean by "screwing around" though? If you're talking about Meph getting his freak on with her, lol, it's not happening man. It would be..ugh...strange. He's just a tease anyway. But, um if you want I'll go back and edit it. Your guy didn't really do any moves though. He just engaged in a slugfest with Blank. I didn't say he was full Saiya-jin either to the best of my recollection. I'll wait before I post a new thing cause I don't want it to controdict what you write. I'm thinking about tying my guy in with Majin Vegita's storyline by having Babi-dee possess him though.

I know this might sound really corny to a lot of you and not make much sense, but in my opinion a world without imperfection can never be have perfection. However, in just "supposing" I'll say that a perfect world would hold no prejudice based on gender, sexuality, or ethnic group. There would be no dominant race or ethnic boundries. Furthermore there would be no homelessness or violence.

I hear that Soul Reaver 2's storyline is really good, as it was in the rest of the Kain series, but I feel that the extended development time really hurt it. The game seems to fall into the same trap as Crash Bandicoot and Parappa 2, in that it is merely a slight upgrade of its PSX predecessors.
Originally posted by Elfin_Girl I've heard that one before... About the dog and the legs and tail... I can't remember the answer!! Um, just a guess: The dog would still have 4 legs, right? I mean, just because you call the tail a leg, doesn't mean that it IS a leg. I really suck at riddles.
Hehe, yep you got it. See? It wasn't all too hard. It's kinda like that one where a rooster is on top of a roof laying an egg and you're asked which side of the roof it will roll down. The answer's just a mere test of logic.

Most likely, it'd be the ABC ones. They featured a storyline that fitted closely with Sega's official storyline for Sonic.
