And I basically want my 360 just so I can have the joy of playing Halo 3 in high definition. Ah, what a fine January day that will be(I hope). So, as you can tell by my custom title, i'm really anticipating the release of Halo 3.[/COLOR']
Don't hold your breath waiting for a January release date. I don't know where you're getting your info from, but don't expect Halo 3 until at least the 2007 holiday season. Looking back at the Halo 2 development schedule and noting the fact that we've only seen a brief teaser of the game, the safe bet is that it'll be released in 2008. At least you can play Gears of War this Christmas.
...you wanted to spend less money so you bought a 360? O_o][/size']
Eh, it's not that big of a stretch in all honesty. An Xbox 360 core pack costs fifty dollars more. We're talking apples and oranges here, so it's all going to come down to what kind of controller you want to play your games with. Realistically, the Xbox 360 should have a great holiday season too. Microsoft has built a lot of momentum and for that reason, Nintendo was very privy for not competing directly.
Now, of course, the Wii will never replace my 360. The games that are coming out for the 360 I just can't live without, which are also games that aren't coming out on the Wii such as Gears Of War, Just Cause, and yes, Halo 3. What I'm getting the Wii for is the innovation. I want to see how the crazy Wiimote will work with most games, especially games like Metroid, and Red Steel and the console is only $250? I can pull that out of my butt. So in the event that it blows harder than Hurricane Katrina I won't feel like I wasted money, only chump change.[/COLOR']
Oh yeah, I agree. I don't really think it's meant to replace the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3. The Xbox 360 has really carved its own path with Xbox Live. Microsoft has done some innovating of their own in that area that should not be gnored. Plus, they've really done a great job of luring third party developers, like Capcom over. After the sales of Dead Rising, the exclusivity of some games, like Devil May Cry, has gone into question. Microsoft will really benefit this Christmas because it's doubtful that most PS3 games will feature online capatability. It has recently been annnounced that Tony Hawk's Project 8 will not be online for the PS3, for example. The Wii will be fun in a different way. It's an alternative that will be great for playing with friends. Plus, with the mass shortages we'll be seeing of the PS3 this year, and the ready supply of Wii's being released, Nintendo should have a great holiday. A lot of the initial games will probably offer questionable use of the Wiimote, but like the DS, once it gets rolling it should be awesome. Oh yeah, and Papa Smurf--I wonder if the Wii will replace the Nintendo 64 for our multiplayer sessions. heh
At first I wasn't going to get a Wii for the sheer fact that it's almost only like a souped up GC, but when they spilled the price I decided that such a cheap console can't be too bad. $250? Thats nothing. Plus, The new Zelda will be a launch title, so that makes me happy. The more I see on Red Steel the more excited I get about that game, and the new Mario looks quite amazing even if we gotta wait for it. Either way, I'm getting a Wii well before the PS3 so I'll have the WiiSixty combo instead of the PSSixty combo.[/COLOR']
Ah, so you've seen the light after all, heh. Honestly, I love my Xbox 360; it's a great system with great games. But, a lot of those games could still technically be done on the current generation systems--just without as much visual flair. So, the fact that the Wii is roughly on par with the original Xbox isn't such a bad thing. The art in some of the Wii titles I've seen is more attractive to me than super detailed, armored, bald space marines. Anyway, I'm not too worried about waiting for Mario. Mario Galaxy would definitely take away from the impact of Zelda and Metroid. Furthermore, I would rather be able to focus my attention on one of these big boys at a time. By the time Mario releases, I should be really acquainted with the controller.
Hey, they had to get their money's worth somehow. And look at it this way: if you get an extra three Wiimotes and nunchuks, you're still[/i'] paying less than a 360 premium system with only one controller.
Money's worth somehow? With the exception of the controllers, the system is dated technology and they're going to be making a fortune off the Virtual Console. In a way all three companies have annoyed me with price this generation. I would have probably been happier paying $199 for the Wii and buying another launch game that I wanted more. Then again, Wii Sports isn't costing them that much anyway, so it would probably still cost about the same without it. However, next to Sony they're still looking really good. So, I'll be happy with the Wii60 combo for a while.

I'm not surprised by the price. It has repeatedly been stated that the system would be selling for no more than $250. With Wii sports included, which I figured would be the pack-in, it's a pretty fair price. With no pack-in, I would be very disappointed. I am still hoping for an extra controller since Wii Sports is in there. As for the Virtual Console games are nowhere near more expensive than expected. Xbox Live Arcade games cost between $5 and $15 so, Virtual Console games are being priced just about right. I'm really pleased with the pricing, considering how Nintendo has a habit of over-charging for retro classics. Remember when they re-released Excitebike for GBA for $20? Also, I noticed that many games have received the expected visual upgrade. Games like Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam and Sonic look significantly better. Even Mario Galaxy looks a little better than I remembered it (although it looked fine to begin with). In general, most games look more favorable in motion: http://gamevideos.com/video/id/5998 I'm really interested in Resident Evil Wii as well, with the new information I've heard.
And there we go. This thread might as well be closed now, since no one can compete with that. The hair owns you.
Hey, good idea. This thread had its run, and as much as I just love seeing OB members post up (sometimes desperately revealing pictures) and flirting with one another for pages upon pages, I think it'd be best if we kept that sort of crap posting limited to myOtaku, myspace, or other sites that I don't visit much. A lot of this just discussion just comes off as empty praise and AIM speak. If someone wanted to make an independent picture site like Queen Asuka did, that'd be a great alternative. kthxbye

Try to think of better topics. I think we can do better than asking people whether they are left or right-handed. I mean, who cares? Anyways, I'm a lefty but to be daring, I'm going to use my right hand to close this thread.

I think this thread has turned into worm wood. We should have just closed this after Alan's onomatopoeia.
No, seriously. It's Nintendo.[/url']
I actually saw that on television the other day. I knew which one was going to win immediately. Good reference. But yeah, I'm sure that if I dug out my original Nintendo Entertainment System it would even work today. Out of my Playstation 2, Xbox, and Gamecube, the Gamecube is the only one that still works perfectly (although it almost never gets played). Between the Nintendo 64 and the Playstation, the Nintendo 64 works fine, but the last time I checked, I had to turn the Playstation upside-down just to make it function at all. All of my Nintendo handhelds work perfectly, while my PSP died just a little over a year after I bought it. I had taken exceptional care of it too (it was always in its Logitech carrying case). So, there really was no excuse for it to fart out on me. If there are technical issues with the Wii, I will post pictures of myself eating a game.

All right, here is another game that a lot of you should jump on since it can now be found for twenty dollars. Now, I wasn't very fond of Ico. I admired many aspects and still view it as a tremendous artistic accomplishment, but it never really clicked with me. Shadow of the Colossus, on the other hand, had me hooked from start to finish. The camera work annoyed me to a large degree, and the frame rate was jerky but once I overcame those issues I began to apperciate the game as one of the finer accomplishments on the Playstation 2. The musical score is phenomenal. The music is epic and picks up pace once the player mounts a Colossus. The design of each Colossus and different strategy for climbing atop each one is genius. As mentioned by Dodeca, these beasts animated superbly. Despite how large many of them are, they animate gracefully and very naturally. Subtle touches, like the way they attempt to shake you off are simply impeccable. Even your horse animates with a fluidity and natural grace that I've never seen in a game before. There are also plenty of easter eggs and secrets to unlock that make for a great incentive to replay the game multiple times. I highly suggest that you all check it out if possible.
what do you mean by using photoshop. I have never used it for artwork.
You can draw and/or color illustrations in Adobe Photoshop. If you've ever used the program, it's not a difficult concept to understand. If you're looking to expand your horizons, it may be a good idea to try it out. You could even color in/clean up the drawings you showed us here. If you ever do decide to go for a career in art, familiarizing yourself with Photoshop and Illustrator would be a good idea.
This is most likely down to the fact that it's a cheap CD player, but concerning Nintendo's quality control regarding the incidents of cracks appearing in white Nintendo DS's, I'm just a little bit paranoid.
It's Nintendo. Enough said.

So wait, is Nero supposed to be Virgil? I'm confused.
Somehow I don't think that's why Charles thought she should be bigger.[/FONT']
Oh no, it really is what I meant. I encourage all of you to check out the official Sony Playstation 3 thread. I made a post (which happens to be the last in the thread) where I put up a link to a site that showed size comparisons between an exact wooden replica of a PS3 and an Xbox 360. For those of you who are unaware, the Xbox 360 is just a little smaller than the original Xbox and the Playstation 3 basically eclipses it. I believe the reason for this is because the PS3's power supply is built in while the Xbox 360 has a huge power brick that connects outside the console.
Who the hell was that fat guy supposed to be?
That would be the representation of a complainer. As for what's possessing the cats: cocaine. I love the Tyra Banks prize btw.
Though, honsetly, I've never really seen a fanboy argument so I have no basis for comparison.
Go to gamefaqs sometime. Almost any board there will do. Anyway, the video was clever. I just wonder if all this hype is really going to translate when these systems release. My main gripe is that the Playstation 3 woman should have been even bigger.

*edit* The picture attached to the post is showing up now, but I don't think you can link it directly within your posts. It could just be my browser but I see a "red x." Eh, my friend made it for me quite a long time ago, at least two years ago, IIRC. Neither of us had experience with sprites or GIF animation so it's only natural that it looks pretty bad. I wouldn't really waste time providing criticism on it because it's obvious that it isn't exactly a technical or artistic marvel. I just put it up as a trip down memory lane. At any rate, I think it still manages to get its message across and remain amusing. Delta, to answer your questions: 1) Yes, that's me as Mr. White. I figured it would only be fair to portray myself as a sleezy, underhanded character instead of acting completely innocent on the matter. Admittedly, I just put the last one up to see how long it would take before people complained. So, to be fair, I kick a little dirt on myself as well. Also, I just love the animation where he shows off his jewelry. 2) Negative. In the game itself when Edgeworth performs that animation, he isn't always "audible." In this scene, he's supposed to be mumbling and what he's saying isn't necessarily important because his body language tells the story. So, I thought that attaching dialogue to it would be redundant. But, yeah, I'm not really trying to deal a huge blow to any faceless detractors; I just enjoy poking fun at the situation and how easily people can be riled up. And, I'm really getting spoiled by these "God of the Internet" picture compliments, indifference. I'm undeserving. I'll just settle for being the God of pictures here.

Well, recently, I had to change my avatar for obvious reasons. But, every cloud has a silver lining! You see, this isn't a first-time thing. In the past, I've faced scutiny in several threads in the Suggestions forum, and have even (supposedly) been responsible for making a young child cry when I used an avatar that featured a cartoon kitty cat getting stomped on. Desbreko reminded me of an awesome old banner I had in which I responded to a similar issue: So, with that inspiration in mind, here is the modern day incarnation on the issue in which I have been called to court for my transgressions:

I assume it's because of the primary hard drive failure in which all images added since the 28th were lost. http://www.theotaku.com/news/view/the_apocalypse/1732/

You have a while to go before you have to worry about making this a career choice. It's not nearly a mid-life crisis. You're going to develop a other interests that are going to shape who you are and what you want to do. Secondly, you should primarily be drawing simply because you enjoy it--you shouldn't have to be better than your rival in order to have a passion for drawing. Instead, you should look at your rival's best techniques and learn from them. And finally, try to expand your horizons and draw things how you normally wouldn't. If anime-esque drawings are what you're inclined to do, try drawing something realistic, or in a completely different stye. Try an ink drawing, markers, different kinds of pencils or charcoal drawing. Try normal shading, try cross-hatching, etc. There are a lot of ways you can go about this. Instead of simply sketching freehand, try developing an extremely lightly drawn "skeleton" first so that you can get a grasp on proportions. Having said that, if you just enjoy drawing and want to do it as a hobby, I see no reason why you have to worry about improving and comparing yourself to others. Quite honestly, just keeping this as a hobby is probably what's best for you because your doodles aren't good enough to really qualify you as especially talented (unless of course you're insanely good with computer drawings).
