Just as so long they do not change ff 7 if they remake it
They had better. Otherwise it'll be a rehash instead of a remake.

What do you think your signature says about you?
Charles replied to shadowpimp's topic in General Discussion
What does my signature say about me? Only that I was a prominant part of the coolest underground alternative to OtakuBoards ever. That's what! Although Group Sounds perished quite a while ago due to technical difficulties, it will forever be memorialized in my signature. It's a great way to celebrate a place that was like OtakuBoards but only with the cool people. -
Gametrailers.com is your friend. Got that memorized? Anyway, has anyone else seen the secret ending? What did you think of it?

I've MCed a few large skateboarding/biking events. I use a microphone at work every day and have a lot of fun with it, so I wasn't nervous. That's the key really--just enjoying it. If your enjoyment comes through then everyone will enjoy listening. Just make sure that your voice is full of inflections and you don't speak in a monotone voice. Speak loudly, clearly, be witty and have confidence. That's all there is to it. You can have a lot of fun with a talent show, in particular. Try preparing a list of jokes or an outline of things you'd like to say about each person before you go on, if you get the role.
^_^ hee hee well i stil like the game though i haven't beaten it but i must say ... :animesigh they killed the Mulan level...it was short boring and it seemed like they speeded up the emperor's speech...also the battle's are much easer b/c of the triangle button..and the new moves...which is depressing cuz then u really fly through the game...still haven't played too much like i haevn't hit the part where you have to go back to the world alot...i'm still unlocking worlds.. and i'monly in Halloween town..one thing i'm mad about is the Poor book  i spent all of the last game gathering pages and doign boring little puzzle games TT_TT and now i have to do that all over again arrrggghhh...also how come sora only seems to fight heartless right now like the nobodies u were fighting with Roxas just don't come up anymore...i dun get it...
Yeah, you know, I love Pooh and was glad to see him return--but did it have to be under the same exact circumstances as before? With torn pages? Very uninspired. It just really contributed to the "been there, done that" vibe I got from this game. Anyhow, you will fight more Nobodies but it doesn't make much of a difference. Just like the Heartless they're essentially going to just stand around while Sora and company kick the crap out of them effortlessly with a flurry of overpowered attacks.

Well, I finished this today. I don't want it to seem as if I'm trolling this thread but I'm more disappointed than I expected. I found the game to be not much of a departure from the first; it was extremely boring to the point where I felt like a chore just to continue on. The backtracking and overabunance of combat were the dealbreakers in that regard. Overall the story was decent but the direction left a lot to be desired. The cut scenes would often end abruptly and it always felt as if the characters had more to say but were suddenly cut off by sloppy editing. The plot also suffers from being "a mile wide and an inch deep." It throws dozens and dozens of characters and several plots at the player but never goes into much detail about any of them. It's hard to identify with or care about anything that's going on because you're constantly being swept from one scenario to the next. Each Disney property suffers from the same problem they did in the first game--they're taking two hour plots and abridging them to about ten minutes. If the game was not using established, timeless Disney characters that allow the player to fill in the holes, it would never get away with this sloppiness. Everything was just so convoluted and glossed over that it was hard to grasp any of it. Although I understand the plot and thought it had a few really shining, heart-felt moments, I thought the game was generally, and ironically devoid of heart. Look at The Little Mermaid world for example. I thought this one was the best in terms of providing the musical atmosphere so characteristic of Disney (but lacking in Kingdom Hearts). Yet, unfortunately, it's impossible to really care about Ariel's relationship with Eric because they don't really show any of it. Don't even get me started on The Lion King. What a butchery that was. Oh, and man what's up with visiting the Cave of Wonders in Aladdin again? It doesn't even serve a purpose anymore. Now that the lamp is gone it's not even supposed to be there. The one thing I really cared about and looked forward to was the reunion of Sora, Kairi, and Riku.
However, even this was handled poorly. The connection between Sora and Riku seemed authentic and I was satisfied with that, but when Sora and Kairi saw one another the scene was almost totally devoid of emotion. Instead of embracing immediately or seeming thrilled, they exchange a few pointless lines of dialogue--and then they finally hugged. I just didn't buy it.
Hopefully if the next Kingdom Hearts title continues to play as crappy as the first two, they will compensate by trimming down the overabundance of content and fleshing out the plot to make it more focused and coherent so that it means something. Overall if I had to rate this game I would give it a 5.5/10. Slightly above average. edit: I did like how they handled Mickey Mouse though.

My strongest emotion is gas, if that counts towards anything.
I'll post my final thoughts when I finish it,
but it looks like I have to play every single world over again. I'm glad they addressed everyone's concerns about all of the backtracking. Thank you SquareSoft!
-Shy
Jesus Christ. Anyway, I recommend going to Wikipedia.org and reading the plot summary of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories over if you're unfamiliar with that game. Doing that helped me a little.
the game is pretty short and easier. that kinda sucks all the time spent and the first game was hard and the chain of memories was even harder i thought this game was gonna be hard but so far it is a breeze and i don't use valor form that much only when i am bord and feel like killing the heartless faster
The game isn't short. If anything, it's been slightly criticized for being too long. Based on what I've read, it's approximately 40-50 hours long. Complaining about the game's length doesn't make much sense when you haven't finished it yet. Anyway, with an open mind I picked this up last Friday and so far my experience has been just like with the first Kingdom Hearts. The cinematics and story are good, while the gameplay bores me to tears. It's extremely simplistic and uninteresting. I'm not very far but I've played through the prologue, Beast's castle, and I'm currently suffering through Mulan's story. Just like the prologue it forces you to complete boring "errands." Only, the three errands it gives you are identical to one another. Also, I'm finding myself taking spheres from enemies in order to win battles just like in Twilight Town. Very unimpressed. I take back anything I said about respecting anyone's opinion that this gameplay is unique or fresh. That's just insanity. I'll keep on going for the story though.
Well I was planniing on commenting on your posts but James posted the most recent so I chose his. I happen to own Oblivion , Nocutrne, and DQVIII. They are all great games. But they are nothing like KH. I just found the battle system like nothing I ever played. I love the combat system. Im not going to excuse the backtracking or platforming they were God awful. The camera is fine once you get used to it. But for some fights it can be a real pain. I think KH is a top-tier game. the storyline is well done(with the exception of some really bad dialogue bits). It also has great music. Its just that no game out there like KH.
Oh well okay that sounds reasonable enough. If that's your opinion then I respect it.
Medicore? Arent you being a little harsh?I thoguht the gameplay was very well done. I had alot of fun with the gameplay. It was unique and origianl. You just got to give it time. Once you unlock the colisieum then things get alot cooler. Some of the boss fights are amazing. Yes the platforming did suck but the RPG elements were mixed in well with the combat. Yes I agree the gameplay was not revolutinary but it was fresh and unique.I will say that the gameplay is not on par with the story but its pretty damn good. KH 2 is also an increbile game with dual wieldeing , and fusions added. My only complaint is the game is to easy. I havent gotten that far about 4 hours in. But im already loving the gameplay and the story.
I like how you completely ignore my posts that are a lot more harsh. The gameplay was lame, kid. Play other [better] games (i.e., Oblivion, Dragon Quest VIII, Nocturne, etc). You'll be enlightened. The fact that you called the gameplay "unique" speaks volumes. From what I remember, the player was limited to heavy backtracking in extremely small, segmented worlds, collecting, sloppy platforming (due in part to a weak camera), and a combat system influenced by the 3D Zelda games. The fact that Kingdom Hearts was received as well as it was had nothing to do with unique, solid gameplay. Nope. It was released in 2002 when next generation gaming was fairly new. The high production values and use of top licenses gave the game a "gee-whiz" factor that allowed people to overlook or forgive the drawbacks in the gameplay. Now, in 2006, standards are a lot higher, which explains why the lingering flaws are more pronounced. Granted, most agree that Kingdom Hearts 2 is marketdly better than its predecessor, but in comparison to top-tier games it's nothing special.

All of this bickering is ridiculous. First of all, if people are interested in a game they are going to try it regardless of review scores. If they're investigating reviews on the Internet, then they are educated buyers who are going to base their purchase off of more than one review. Secondly, the first Kingdom Hearts sold 2,460,318 copies in the US up through November 2005, so I'm sure that an IGN review isn't going to cripple Kingdom Hearts 2 sales. Lastly, if you're the kind of person that takes reviews seriously and gets angry when your favorite game scores below a nine, first seek mental help. Next, realize that a 7.6 out of 10 is a really good score for a game with more flash than substance. That IGN review is actually written much better than say, the 1up review, which focuses mostly on the cinematic quality of the game. The IGN reviewer supports his complaints by providing concrete evidence to support his score. Whether or not you agree with that is your business, but it's the reviewer's opinion, and considering how crappy the gameplay was in the first game, I'm not at all surprised to see that the follow-up isn't exactly phenominal in the gameplay department. Don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy watching the cinematics in Kingdom Hearts 2 myself and the game will probably be worth playing to see how the story progresses, but I'm also willing to acknowledge that the gameplay isn't going to match the level of the production values by a long shot. At any rate, I realize that a lot of you are casuals and have no idea what a great role-playing game actually plays like so all I ask is that you be respectful to those of us who do.
http://www.gamespot.com/pages/gamespace/reviews.php?pid=915410 http://ps2.ign.com/articles/698/698697p1.html IGN also reviewd it. Do not read unless you want to throw your computer out a window and write angry letters.I think this review was unfair. This is why I HATE IGN.
Why should this review surprise you? Kingdom Hearts relies primarily on fan service; the core "game" of Kingdom Hearts ranged from terrible to mediocre. For example, look at the butchered level design (again, of the first Kingdom Hearts). It relied on incessant backtracking and dull scenarios, such as collecting fruit. The gameplay seemed, if anything, an intermission between the fantastic cut scenes. Kingdom Hearts 2 does away with the backtracking, but the IGN reviewer was displeased that the worlds are still incredibly linear and the difficulty has been reduced significantly, making the game too easy. So, unsurprisingly, the gameplay once again comes second to the cutscenes. I'm sure that the improved combat system will provide some entertainment but the game should be taken to task for its poor level layout and lame difficulty setting. Hopefully Square at least did more justice to the Disney properties it ruined last time. I'm really only looking forward to playing this just to see how they're represented. Anyway, I, for one, am glad that at least some reviewers aren't giving this game unwarranted praise just because it's an anticipated title.

As a young boy I always dreamnt of becoming the Site Administrator for OtakuBoards. I fulfilled that dream while still in my youth. This is both a curse and a blessing because now that I've achieved all I wanted in life, I've become bitter and disillusioned. The only thing left for me is to DESTROY OTAKUBOARDS.

Here it is, a look at the first Zelda title created specifically for the Nintendo DS. This will be an original Zelda title developed by the Windwaker team. The graphics look very similar to said title, only the presentation is from a traditional top-down perspective. Here is the first trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrxgKbgFOyI In case you don't like youtube, here are two more links to the trailer: hi-res trailer low res trailer Here are some screenies as well: I figured this forum could use a break from the Kingdom Hearts crap and we could actually discuss a quality title. I'm really impressed with the 3D the DS has been doing. As if Mario Kart wasn't impressive enough, Metroid and now Zelda have blown the doors off what the Nintendo 64 could do. Touch screen capabilities are confirmed and it will be released this year. Looks like a good year for Zelda fans.

Personally, I just grab my crotch and say "nice rack!" Or "Fancy a w***?" But, seriously now, telling someone plainly why you love them is more effective than abusing silly metaphors. I'd imagine most any female above the age of thirteen would laugh is someone told them they loved them more than there are stars in the sky. Absolutely terrible.
Can't that person just speak from the heart and not try to quote a few dozen wannabe poets or Shakespeares or whatever?
Actually Shakespeare would have agreed that the expression of love should be simplified. ROMEO: Lady, by yonder blessed moon I vow, That tips with silver all these fruit-tree tops-- JULIET: O, swear not by the moon, th' inconstant moon, That monthly changes in her circle orb, Lest that thy love prove likewise variable. ROMEO: What shall I swear by? JULIET: Do not swear at all; Or if thou wilt, swear by thy gracious self, Which is the god of my idolatry, And I'll believe thee.

Don't glorify "love." Plenty of people have fallen in love and yet they have not attained immortality. Love is a characteristic of humanity that is just as mortal as the people who share the feeling (or believe they do). Love is a very private emotion that's shared between small groups of people. Once their lives are over, so is the emotion. Having said that, although love has the ability to make one's life more fulfilling (or miserable), it doesn't do much else. Immortality is dealt by accomplishments, by standing out. If someone is remembered for years upon years after their death, it's because they managed to set a precedent by contributing to society in an extremely positive or negative way. People don't remember people like Benjamin Franklin or Hitler because they enjoyed wonderful, passionate marriages. So, don't get carried away by believing that just because true love can make your life more gratifying that it can also reach beyond that. Significant individuals are significant because they accomplish significant things. In the grand scheme of things falling in love is only personally significant, not socially. [/thread]
Jezus, chill out. You're acting so uptight. I even made a winking face, AND I laughed. Semi-sarcasm, hi? I'm disappointed that some of my nominations didn't make it, and that was what I meant by my votes not counting, but four of them were included in the final, and I do realize that yeah, I was represented (in some perceived-weird way). And by the way, I also wasn't aware that you even counted votes, so how was I to know that you went on a numerical system? When nifty fifty was first introduced, the explanation made it sound like you guys looked over the list of what was nominated, and decided for yourself which fifty best represented OB, as a more... qualitative group than quantitative. I just assumed that you all coordinated your opinions over PMs and e-mails and stuff. No one ever told me counting was involved. It's just really disheartening that you took my post that way, because I wasn't really mad at anyone. And in some ways, you act like I was personally attacking you, and for the record, I just wanted to let you know, I wasn't (so chillax, chica. ^_~). This means I'll have to try to convey my illogical-humor better in the future, or perhaps not go there in the future. *waves merrily* ~Rox =D
There's no need to bite people's heads off because you voted for crappy people, Roxie. Calm down.
I have a problem and I need to figure it out NOW. Okay, so I guess I haven't told anyone this yet, but I am a female-to-male transsexual. I mean, I'm physically female yet it doesn't feel right. It doesn't... fit, I guess. I completely, 100% identify as being male, and I have always, as far back as I remember to about 3 or 4, felt this way. Now, I've had a few girlfriends, and things didn't go that far so they never found out. And that was nice, and perfect, until now. Actually, until the summer of 2004, when, I somehow fell in love with a guy. But he was gay, so it was a homosexual male relationship. That worked out fine. Then I thought I was gay AND transsexual. BUT I still like girls. A lot. So now I'm thinking I consider myself bisexual male. But there still is that part of me that says "it was just a tomboy phase, and now you're realizing you're a bisexual FEMALE" so, excuse my language, I AM SO ******* **** **** ******* CONFUSED!!!! Could someone please help me figure this mess out? (To clarify, I've had more boyfriends and girlfriends in the past and recently)

The way I see it, this looks like a sticky situtation that probably needs some outside counciling right here.
