1. When I've had problems logging out in the past, changing the ol' password has never failed me. So, if you're having problems deleting your cookies, you might want to give the simpler approach a shot. Perhaps it'll work.
2. :Sobs tears of girlish glee: Thanks to everyone that voted for me--Ginny! :toothy: Okay, okay, here is the picture I have chosen. It should be interesting enough for you folks to use.
3. I was recently directed to that forum by someone and noticed that it's a bit of a problem, as well. So, I wouldn't have a problem putting something like that up. You're one of the better posters there, so feel free to private message me exactly what you have in mind and I'll commit it to a sticky thread.
4. I guess I'll take a crack at this thing. I chose this caption because it's early in the morning and my head isn't straight. Mr. Bananas, you?re my angel, you?re my darling angel Closer than my Pokemon you are to me, baby Shorty, you?re my angel, you?re my darling angel Mr. Bananas, you?re my friend when I?m in need of a lady And--ah! mom! It's not what you think! I'm just spanking my monkey. Wait! No! I'm caressing my head! Wait! Oh, I give up. I'm a sick freak.
5. This situation is pretty much wrapped up. If anything, it should serve as a reminder to members that they should always log out when others have access to their computer. If you fail to do so, then it's only fair that you accept the responsibility for your negligence.
6. My main problem with this film was that it was too typical. Why does it seem like every Jet Li movie ends with him fighting in a ring of fire while it's raining? How many times do we have to see someone's daughter get kidnapped in a Jet Li film? lol I thought the movie was pretty entertaining. The film's introduction and the ultimate fighting scene were probably the high points. The kart chase was fun, as well. It certainly wasn't a must-see, though.
7. I've decided to merge the Backlash threads together, so that it will be easier to compare the different versions. Now, the evolution of this project of yours will be a little more apparent. Plus, it'll be a little less clutter in the art forum. Anyway, the third one is nice. I was probably the only one that actually liked the feathering and overlaying in the last one. So, it's cool that you remedied that. My only gripe with this one, is how the blurred image of Goldberg is cut-off in the background. The next issue isn't really a problem, per say. I've just noticed that the blurred image of The Rock works really well against the background. Perhaps you could change the color of the blurred Goldberg capture that effect for him, as well.
8. I express myself through writing, clothing, drawing, and humor. Writing is cool because I'm able to commit to paper what I couldn't ordinarily say. It's nice being able to use paper as a blank canvas, and basically paint it with my feelings, if you can understand that. Drawing and painting hold the same advantages. You can tell how someone's feeling just by looking at the styles of their art sometimes. And, you can read deeper into certain aspects of a work and learn where people stand on certain issues. It's pretty cool just looking at someone's work and gaining a deeper understanding of the person behind it. Humor is just something I do sometimes. By not taking myself too seriously all the time, it's easy for me to relieve stress. As for clothing, well, although there are trends and styles, it's still possible to learn stuff about people based on how they dress. So, I can't help but to express myself with clothing. That about does it for me.
9.
Originally posted by BigCajones Who do you want to win between Goldberg and The Rock at Backlash and who do you think will win (could be a difference)?

Goldberg will defeat The Rock. Make no mistake about it. The Rock is only sticking around for the sole purpose of putting Goldberg over at Wrestlemania. What would be the point of having The Rock defeat an expensive acquisition like Goldberg in his first match, only to have Rock leave for another six months soon afterward? Goldberg was promised the match when in negotiations with The Rock, anyway, so it's irreveleant who I want to win, lol.
10.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Threads like this.
Man, that really just jumped out at me. Way cool, lol. Anyway, ignorant people usually make me angry. Adults who say "Gimme," for instance, really test me. It's something I associate with children who don't know any better. A matured person should never say it. Destructive behavior angers me. Like, when people vandalize bathrooms. It's such senseless, animalistic behavior. Lastly, I get angry when people make racist comments. That's the ultimate form of ignorance in my book. I don't really loose my cool over the first two things I've mentioned. But, a guy's got to put his foot down somewhere. Other than that, I don't anger easily. I'm Joe Cool. I just let stuff slide off my back. Getting angry never really did anything for me.
11. I think you mean SmackDown. ~_^ The number one contender hasn't been decided yet; there's a tournament underway to determine who it will be. Next week the Undertaker will wrestle John Cena and Rhyno will wrestle Chris Benoit. It's no secret that John Cena will win the tournament though. The FBI will probably interfere in his match with 'Taker, helping him get the rub in the process. One the Raw side, just in case you were wondering, Triple H probably won't be defending the title at Backlash. Right now, he's scheduled to be in a six man tag, teaming with Jericho and Flair. Their rumored opponents are HBK, Booker T, and Diesel. Which, GOS basically said already.
12. Interesting plot and entertaining combat engines are a big deal to me. I'm growing tired of playing RPGs where the protagonist is a young boy who is coming of age when disaster strikes and he's forced to leave his town and save the world from certain doom. It's so cliche. These are usually the same games that feature slime enemies and wolves every odd encounter. Enough already! lol Combat is important because that's where you're spending most of your time in an RPG. Grandia and Persona, each feature interesting combat systems. Persona, in particular, was unique because it allowed the gamer to bargain with the enemy. Grandia featured a combat meter that made the pacing of battles exciting. RPGs with non linear quests are fun too. Skies of Arcadia, for instance, was nice because much of the world was undiscovered. So, going out of your way to uncover the world map was always fun--if not too tedious do to the ridiculous combat encounter rate (fixed in the GC version, I hear). So, I don't ask for too much from RPGs. If they present likable characters (Square does an excellent job in that area), a fresh plot and entertaining combat, I'm usually satisfied.
13. I don't have a particular list of names I use in stories. I try to incorporate symbolism into whatever I pick. And, of course, it has to fit into the context of the story. Usually, I try not to pick anything too exotic in stories or RPGs. But, at the same time I prefer that the names I pick are unique. Finding names that appease me on both fronts is very difficult.
14. I agree. This is quite an improvement over the last Backlash banner. The overlaying of Goldberg over The Rock is a nice touch. But, I'm not quite sure if I like how the logo looks overlapping the images. You might want to play around with the stroke layer effect. The results might be nice. Otherwise, this is a nice second attempt.
15. I'm really interested in seeing the movie. I'll probably see it after I catch "A Man Apart." If memory serves me correctly, they release on the same day. The film looks like it's artistic and daring. I can't wait to see what methods they'll use to keep it interesting. Of course, the trailer highlights particularly tense moments. But, I want to see how they manage to keep it going for an hour and a half. So, yeah, the concept is really fresh. It's a nice break from the influx of war movies. After talking to Tony about it, I agree about the plot hole. In the trailer, the sniper mentions the size of the exit wound that the rifle will produce. It should be obvious that the woman wasn't shot with a concealable handgun. But, other than that one shortcoming, Phone Booth has considerable potential. It might actually be one of those movies with a "bad" ending.
16.
Originally posted by Psyco The text and the pictures are hard to see, really hard.I suggest lightining up the pictures and text a bit. 7/10
Exactly. If you hadn't mentioned that, I would have simply thought the banner was the "Backlash" logo set against a black background. I had to lighten the image drastically to make everything else distinguishable.
17. We already have a thread discussing UFO's and aliens on this page. Many members have already provided their input in regard to whether they believe in extraterrestrial life or not, there. Let's try to be sensible, here. Please refrain from creating threads that clutter the lounge with the same subject matter as recent topics.
18. This is my new short story, thus far. I'll post the rest when it's completed. I figure it'll be easier to make adjustments based on suggestions if I post it up in pieces. Plus, I won't be putting as much stress on everyone to read a whole lot. Men speak many different languages, but none louder than silence. He?s been left alone, at the mercy of his own thoughts. The office is small, makes him feel like he?s trapped inside his head, a prisoner shackled by the chains of his own consciousness. At any moment, he could spontaneously combust, and an endless torrent of pain and heartache might trickle and flood, drowning him in the confines of the four walls. It?s 4:15 pm. His form imposes on a black suit that hugs his body. It stretches tightly over his back. The arms are too short; they reveal his naked wrists. So, he sits back in a leather chair, relaxing the overworked material. He blends into his shadowy surroundings. It?s 4:20 pm. He straightens his tie with anxious fingers and gazes past a large office plant, through the room?s only window. It commands a view of a divided highway. Clouds appear to be painted onto the sky with the bristles of God?s paintbrush. Colors bleed from the sky, and sharply contrast with a flat of skeletal trees that line the road. They have long been stifled by the bitter grasp of winter. He reaches into his breast pocket and withdrawals a Zippo lighter. It?s 4:22 pm. He plays with the flame, allowing himself to be distracted by the clicking sound. Patches of daylight pass through the window and fall, like stones, on picture frames and plaques, garnishing the room in sparks. It?s 4:25 pm. Adrenaline clogs his arteries. The empty ticking of a large, oak clock sings baritone with the chorus of chatter in the adjoining secretary?s lounge. Finally, his psychiatrist enters. The door clicks open, allowing the outside sounds to permeate the room for only a brief instant, before being swept out again by the gunshot thud of the door, closing behind her. He shifts in his seat, instinctively shrinks away at the presence of another being. She pauses at the threshold of the room. ?I?m terribly sorry to have kept you waiting Mr. Winslow,? she says. ?Are you comfortable? Would you like a glass of water? A cup of coffee?? He attempts to speak, but his voice has grown hoarse during the space of the interruption. He clears his throat. ?I?m fine,? he says, ?thank you.? ?Are you sure? It would be no problem,? she says ?Once we begin, I would prefer that we had no further interruptions.? ?I?ll be fine,? he says, ?I don?t want anything to drink.? She glides though the room and sits across from him. Her chair appears to be elevated higher than his. For the first time, Mr. Winslow notices a manila folder in her crimson clutches His heart fights to stay in his chest.. He inhales deeply, scoffed at the prospect of the whole endeavor, at the climate controlled, leather seated, modern deco decorated splendor swallowing him whole. ?Well, where do you want begin,? she says, ?What do you want to talk about?? ?I?m ready to talk about her,? he says, ?I?m ready to talk about it. I need to talk about it.? His stares at her. His elbows are resting on his knees, his fingers are steepled, as if he?s in deep contemplation over some matter. She smiles. Her red lips part, revealing perfectly straight, icy white, teeth. ?Well, this is a pleasant surprise,? she says, ?I agree with you wholeheartedly. You really need to do this. You need to face the past if you ever want to move forward.? ?I know,? he says, ?I?m ready to talk about everything. About Mrs. Whittlebone.? ?I?m listening,? she says, ?Tell me about Mrs. Whittlebone.? Silence. He pauses to take a moment for himself, leans back and melts into the chair again. His eyes are half-open--like he?s lost in a state between consciousness and sleep. ?It?s okay,? she says, ?I know it?s difficult.? ?Mrs. Whittlebone was a widow who lived on Magnolia Cove with her two grandchildren,? he says. ?Oh yes, that?s a nice area,? she says delicately scratching notes onto a small pad. ?Yes, it was a quiet little area and her home was the oldest,? he says, ?Which, of course, was fitting because she was the oldest woman in town.? ?I see,? she says, ?So, how is Mrs. Whittlebone--or her grandchildren, perhaps, important to you? What-? ?I need to describe the house,? he says, ?That?s important to me.? ?Okay, go on,? she says, ?I won?t interrupt.? ?It?s really important,? he says. ?I know,? she says. It felt like he was spilling his life out onto the canvas of the world. Everything had to be perfect. ?The house was ghastly--a decrepit building whose foundation bore stress cracks. It was large--dwarfing surrounding homes,? he says. ?But, it seemed isolated, sitting atop a hill, far removed from the rest of civilization. Surrounding trees made its features nearly indistinguishable and when night inevitably defeated day, it was transformed into something even more hellish . It was the old haunted house cliché.? She is staring at him, able to view the most intimate fears of his soul, he suspects. It holds him in a paralyzing stasis until the impromptu chiming of the large clock shouts gives him a start. The psychiatrist removes her moon shaped glasses and dabs at them delicately with a violet handkerchief. ?Can--you tell me, Mr. Winslow--what is, excuse me, what was your relationship to Mrs. Whittlebone? Did it have something to do with the house?? ?She was my grandmother,? he says, ?We grew up in that house. She raised us.? The somber words now give her pause. Her face expresses nothing. ?The house benefited little in the way of renovation,? he goes on, ? It settled under age and lack of care. Dust touched everything, emanating from spider web constellations in the corners, it even coated the furniture. It diminished the luster of a once exquisite cherry wood dining room set and gave the carpet a somewhat ashy complexion. Mrs. Whittlebone had developed an acute sense of loathing for anything less gray than herself. That?s the way it was.?
19. I'm looking forward to this one. It's probably the closest I'm going to get to Comix Zone, from a design standpoint, for quite a while. Like Cyko, I'm really stoked over the Matrix inspired time slowing ability. And, I'm happy with how the cel shading technique has been being used lately. I was beginning to grow tired of it, but games like Viewtiful Joe and Zelda have used it in interesting ways. It's like it's being utilized for a purpose rather than existing solely for marketing publicity. You know? Hopefully, the game will have some 70's retro music to compliment the look.
20. I'll answer this one more time for the good time. I was a senior in high school, it was a beautiful, sunny day in May. The birds were singing, little critters were running about, and it was a good time to be alive. While working on an art assignment in Commercial Art 02, I tried to gather DragbonBallZ pictures from theotaku.com. But, for some reason or another, the site was down and I was forwarded to OtakuBoards. Once my friend and I completed our assignments, we needed something to keep us out of trouble (because the teacher was growing tired of all the pranks), so we each joined up. I didn't know a thing about message boards and I didn't intend to stick around. So, I just made up my GWFPM name and put up some super crazy posts. After a while, I grew to like the place, so I stuck around. It it weren't for this place, I would just think of spam as canned meat.
21. This thread belongs in the Yu-Gi-Oh forum. But, a thread was already created for the purpose of discussing this game and moved there. It should still be lingering somewhere on the first page. For future reference, let's try to keep series topics in their relevant forums. ;)
22. Yes. The thread was originally created here, but I moved it. Although the game is for the Playstation, the thread isn't relevant to the Sony forum--for the same reasons that Pokemon video game discussion is limited to the Pokemon forum instead of the Nintendo forum. Remember, discussing games based on a series is welcome in the forum dedicated to that series.
23. I'm beginning to think this thread has run its course. We've seen some genuinely good points here about underage sex and drug abuse. But, I think the subject has pretty much been exhausted. Nonetheless, I'll allow it to remain open for a bit longer--provided we see some relevant posts. I've warned you about improving your behavior Manslayer, and you've cooperated by making the appropriate adjustments to your signature. And--I haven't seen any abusive comments from you following your remark about the Jewish. But, you must make an effort to improve your post quality. The use of correct punctuation, spelling and capitalization isn't too much to ask. We expect this of all members to some extent. Your posts don't have to be insanely brilliant, but they do have to be coherent.
24.
Originally posted by BigCajones What events have you lot been to and what did you all think of it?
The only live event I've attended was Wrestlemania XV at the First Union Center in Philadelphia. We were in the nose bleeds (because everything else was sold out), but it was a blast. I got to see the first act of Rock/Austin, DX's last stand with Triple H joining the corporation, and a tag title match featuring the late, great Owen Hart. Moving on, I enjoyed Wrestlemania. It had its disappointing moments, but most of the big matches came through. And--if memory serves me correctly, all of my predictions were correct, except for the Triple H/Y2J prediction. Darn, I'm good. :toothy: I expected Triple H to win the moment I heard the Raw only pay per view would be called "Bad Blood" since the two have legitimate heat with one another. So, I can't say I'm too surprised with that outcome. I was disappointed with Triple H going over The Hurricane on Raw tonight. The Rock did a huge program with him, put him over, and Triple H single-handedly cooled him down tonight. Other than that, and the Maven match, I enjoyed Raw. Although Diesel didn't return (even with the perfect opportunity painfully apparent), we got to see "Da Man" on Raw. If you're a wrestling fan, you had to be marking out. I was surprised how good he looked, didn't put on a bunch of weight or anything. This program with The Rock should be excellent--even given the predictability.
25.
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh Are you serious? ::Paces the floor:: I don't see how someting like this could happen. It reminds me of that scene in The Mexican where Julia Roberts' character is kidnapped. At first, I thought the scene was a little unrealistic, but apparently it's not.
I wish I wasn't serious. Heh. Unfortunately, people really build intense walls around one another. Many have a "This ain't my business" mentality. In fact, in urban areas, it's very unlikely that neighbors will get to know one anothers' names. That's not always the case, but there's definitely less involvement than there once was.
