I think that it's only as good as the first, no better, no worse. I will admit that the death scenes are a notch above the first Final Destination in terms of brutality and gore...so it's definitely not a film for the faint of heart. Overall, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree with this sequel. Like it's predecessor, it's not too terribly scary--just gross. For better or worse, the plot is a direct continuation from Final Destination and shares a lot of commonalties with it (things play out very similarly with an emphasis on psychic visions and "dodging the bullet"). Also, let it be known that you will hear a lot of references that you might not understand or fully appreciate unless you've seen Final Destination. Moving on, I love the camera work and moody imagery in the movie. The film is very atmospheric. Some objects and areas are a bit cliche, but it's nothing that can't be overlooked. The teaser deaths and twisting action had a way of pulling the rug out from underneath me on a few occasions. So, everything was exciting to watch for the first time. I liked the movie. I was able to look past the terrible plot/acting and enjoy the special effects while taking guilty pleasure in cheering with the crowd as each character was killed off.

I read about this a while back and I think that the game has potential. Tao reminds me of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance on steroids because it expands upon its art style. The characters look similar to the Mortal Kombat characters, but feature an insane polygon count; it's pushing something like 10,000 polys per character. So, the movement and tearing of clothing should look great, as well as the scarring effects. The most exciting thing about the damage system though, isn't how it looks. The ability to target specific limbs and damage them to the point where they become useless sounds fresh and new. Think about it, it could add a lot of strategy to the game. The environments you mentioned sound sweet too; not because they are littered with breakable objects, but because you can use them to your advantage (I.e., the poles you mentioned, and pinning people against walls). Once again, this can expand upon strategy in fights. I'm anxious to see how this one turns out. ^^ I just hope it doesn't use a dial-up combo system like the earlier Mortal Kombat games.

I don't have any hampters, so I can't be much help. My advice is--dim the lights and play some romantic music or show it some dirty magazines. :shrugs: Then again, maybe she wants more out of her relationships than kinky hampster sex. She could be at that stage in her life where she just wants to talk and make a connection; she might enjoy long walks on the wheel or poetry.

I noticed how similar it looked to Animal Crossing right away. I think it's really original how they allow us to play as a young boy in a coming-of-age story. That's never been done before. :sigh: Perhaps we'll even see some super cool slime monsters...if we're lucky. I shouldn't insult the game that much, lol. It looks interesting. I haven't read anything on it, so it's hard to say if it'll be anything special or not.

Ah yes. There was a thread very similar to this in the Nintendo forum. Because these threads are usually cross-platform, I suggest you check it out Here.

I just recently watched this show for the first time. I didn't go in expecting a lot, since popular shows like American Idol rarely live up to the hype in my book. But, I've enjoyed what I've seen. Some of the singers are hilarious--almost cartoonish. I'll never forget that strange dude in the green sweater (the one Simon called "the worst singer in the world."). His voice was the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life and his body gestures were just as sad, lol. Plus, he went into an audition, talking about how unique he was, while sucking snot down his throat. It almost embarrassed me to watch it. I doubt that I'll watch every episode, but I'd definitely place American Idol in the upper tier of reality-based television shows.

Midterm exams are totally cool. Usually, I only receive three grades for a class--and they're all based on exams. Of course, the mid-term is the second one, followed by the final. As long as you study your notes and do the reading, midterms are cake. I just go in with confidence and a full stomach (but never enough sleep). Leaving early is certainly nice, but I'm so meticulous and careful with my answers that I manage to eat up a lot of the time anyway. Especially when there's an essay question involved. Instructors love it when you draw an outline in the test booklet. They'll usually even swing a few points your way. ;)

I also bought the game yesterday. The reviews I read haven't been all too kind, but I enjoy the game. The combat actually feels better than it did before, because Dante's abilities are more exaggerated (i.e., he can jump much higher and the acrobatics are improved). I'll need to play the game more before I can give super impressions, but I can say that I'm a little disappointed with the storyline. Trish is not mentioned at all, so she has just disappeared from the picture. So, the plot is a little disjointed from the first game's. I haven't seen a single mention of "Devil Never Cry." Also, the storyline is even less apparent than before. You're usually just placed into a sprawling, baron environment with little dialogue or cut scene to support the change in scenery. Dante's silence is a little disheartening too. I miss his badass egotistical comments and one-liners. The attitude just isn't as apparent. The graphics are impressive and the resolution is high, as I expected. The music is moody and atmospheric...probably superior to Devil May Cry's. Lastly, the difficulty seems to have been toned down significantly. Whether that is a bad or good thing, depends on how challenging you prefer your games to be. Oh well, my overall opinion is still out on this one.

I don't know that I would want to be resurrected as anything once I die. Starting life over doesn't sound like fun. Plus, when you're me, becoming anything or anyone else is almost a demotion. If there's an afterlife, it would be neat becoming an angel of death, like Nicolas Cage in City of Angels. Once I grew tired of the job, I could just transform into a mortal human being again by leaping off the top of a towering skyscraper into the awaiting jaws of life. Returning in an entirely different time frame would be an interesting possibility as well. I've always been fascinated by knights and their codes of chivalry. Nowadays, people rely heavily upon guns and technology to fight. Knights, on the other hand, did battle with heavy iron and steel. That seems more macho to me than wiping out entire populations with a bomb or something. Dig?
Originally posted by Juuthena Hmm... Can I mention a few other people? ^^ Ken: The rock. o.o'
I don't think so, lol. :therock: Perhaps they share a few commonalties in mannerisms and stuff, but there's not much of a solid resemblance. I see some similarities between he and the late, great John Candy, though.

Okay, as some of you may know, I didn't have much luck in ditching that fiction writing workshop. >_< So, I guess I'm going to have to tough it out. My first exercise is a scene with two characters who are in conflict over the setting. One wants to go, one wants to stay. That's what I have to work with, and it isn't supposed to be too long. I'll post what I've written for the assignment. Opinions would be cool. ?The mashed potatoes are getting cold Fred,? Claudia whined, her fists overflowed with bunched-up floral cloth. She desperately tried to keep her favorite nightgown above her ankles, so it wouldn?t brush the moist ground. ?You and those Goddamn mashed potatoes,? her husband muttered hustling, ?my little princess is alone with that--that good for nothin??and all you can worry about is your goddamned potatoes. ? His wife lingered behind, trying her best to keep up without tripping over herself. She looked clumsy, like an old marionette. ?Father in Heaven,? she said pausing momentarily to clasp her hands, ?do you see what this man is doing to me? I cook and I clean?? ?I never did like that boy?,? Fred told himself. ??I wash his clothes,? Claudia continued, ? and he doesn?t appreciate a thing I do.? The air smelled like no other air had ever smelled before; it was thin. A red van peeled off. Its speed left Fred?s heart in his throat. It wasn?t them. Hunched like a mountain cat, stalking its prey, he weaved his way in and out of the shadows. ?Ford,? he whispered to himself. It was Doc Johnson?s car, must have lent it to his son for the prom. The windows were foggy. ?They aren?t here Fred,? Claudia whispered hoarsely, a sense of urgency apparent in her voice, ?you?re going to make a fool out of us all.? ?Mustang.? He walked slow, tried to stay calm. He mixed his hope and drowned his pride, worked hard at trying to keep his mind from being eaten up by the pressure. ?Chevrolet.? Claudia tugged at his sleeve, but her husband twisted, fought and wriggled his way free, stumbling forward. ?Those kids with their rap, the ?B-b-b? and the ?D-d-d?,? Fred complained to himself. ?That?s it,? his wife interjected, ?I?m going home. Don?t complain to me when you miss your programs.?

You don't have many posts. Simply search your posts. When you do so, only look at ones in the Graphic Design forum. You will be able to view a small preview of each post, so it should be relatively easy to find what you're looking for...

I am the annoying sibling, lol. My oldest younger brother is twenty years old, so we're fairly close in age. Even though we live in the same house, we don't see one another very often because of school, work and friends. But, when we're around each other we get along all right. I have a habit of teasing him, goofing around a lot and playing pranks, though. Unfortunately, he can pretty much throw me around when he wants too. I miss the good old days when I was a lot stronger...

I've been told that I look like (young) Steven Saegal. I don't think that I look like him though. I have facial hair, my eyes aren't squinted and, well, I don't see a resemblance between he and I at all, lol. Oh well. When someone tells me I sound like Saegal, I'll start to worry. For now, I'll just humor the idea of resembling a slow motion martial artist....

Okay, I have finally taken one of the quizzes and I just want to say that they are more accurate than I could have ever imagined....

The Raiders are favored by four points, I think. But, no one talks much about the Super Bowl around here after the Eagles choked (once again) on a big game situation last week. I think it's going to be a close game; it should be an interesting Super Bowl. I'm looking forward to the commercials more than I am the actual game though. Some of them are really impressive.

Thank you Mitch. It means a lot coming from you. I can't believe that you brought this thread back from death, lol. It's still one of my favorite poems that I've written.

Some of the new techniques look relatively cool, but I'm still not very interested. I've just never liked the way Tenchu has played. The fact that it looks dreadful isn't what makes me loathe it. Something about the game just itches me the wrong way. It seemed rather repetitive and the stealth elements weren't as polished as I had hoped...
Originally posted by The Vampire: Ed I know no one is going to like my opinion, but I think Viewtiful Joe looks horrid. The first pictures I saw of the game, I really thought I was looking at a Game Boy Advanced or Color game. Maybe it could be fun, and play good. But the look really isn't that good for a Game Cube game. Maybe that's just my opinion, but I really don't care for the look of it. As for Killer 7...it has an interesting look to it. But it looks like something done on the 32X, except with a lot better shading than the 32X could have done. Once again, might be fun and have good gameplay. But I just don't care too much for that look either.
You and I will always disagree about games. I don't see how you can post this 32X nonsense when you own games like ESPN X-Games Skateboarding and Shadow Hearts. When you see Killer 7 and Viewtiful Joe running and actually play them, you'll change your mind like you do 99% of the time. If anything, it's nice to see some fresh and exciting new games on the horizon...and I'll bet you that other developers copy Killer 7's style. I think that Semjaza showed me a video of such a game already. Anyway, I think that your bias against cel shading is clouding your judgement, lol. Then again, Joe's striking resemblence to a hybrid of Ultra Man and the Red Ranger or Killer 7's graphic novel appearance will probably affect my opinions a bit. But, I really dig the ability to manipulate time in Viewtiful Joe. It sounds neat.

The main problem I have with tattoos is that they begin to look sloppy and blurred as your skin ages. So many people live for the moment and get large, elaborate-looking designs that sprawl across most of their bodies. They don't stop and think about how it'll look like nothing more than a huge blotch of faded ink when they get old. If I got a tattoo, it would probably be something small on my shoulder or on the small of my back; there's a certain Latin phrase I've always been fond of. I wouldn't want anything on my arms because it looks unprofessional and trashy. The one thing I would not do under any circumstances, is get branded. Branding seems to be a growing trend and a common alternative to tattooing. My goodness, I can just imagine the pain involved--and the puffy skin looks sickly. :shudders:

It seems that Duck Tales is more popular than Limp Bizkit. Go figure. Anyway, thanks folks, I'm here until eleven. Be sure to pick up a program on the way out.

People probably take the rules seriously because most of them still apply fairly accurately. It's easy to refer a member violating the site's policies to the current rules for the most part. The common offenses, such as flaming, spamming, advertising and double posting are all explained pretty well. As long as someone doesn't refer a member to the rules' jobs section if they post a topic asking to be a moderator, things should hold up until an update is available. For the most part, moderators explain the violations anyway and don't simply say "Go to the rules." I'm not saying that you're wrong though. Some updating is in order. I'd like to see an explanation on "Favorites" threads, personally. But, I don't think that the rules we have aren't worth taking seriously because of a couple issues.
