Okay, since I'm being held at gunpoint by Zeh, I will post a question. Who is the Shinra employee that maniuplated the Cait Sith character?

Oh man, it's amazing what people can get animals to do. There was a psychologist named B.F. Skinner that taught pigeons how to play ping pong! When it comes to my animals, Kitty does some neat things. At one time she was very violent, so she would perch herself in high places and swat at certain members of the family when they crossed her path. She even pounced on someone's back.
Originally posted by Sara Cool beans.
Wow. It's surprising that someone else actually uses that expression here, lol. :excited: Anyway, I think that the quizzes are neat-o. I dig the little descriptions. They're well done. I don't take these quizzes, but the results look better than a lot of the ones I've seen people use in their signatures and stuff. Plus, that Guru looks wicked awesome. He could very well eliminate the need for fortune cookies one day...

I agree with you. I've noticed this as well. At first I thought it was lame, but since Kid Buu doesn't really talk much, it isn't so bad. I can't confirm that it's the same voice actor with certainty though.
Originally posted by Sniglefager yeah, if you keep posting this, they are gonna get pretty rough.
Nope. This is good. I don't know if aj142 agreed with me, but I commend him for taking another go at it and showing real effort. The game I've spent the most time with can't be measured in hours. We'd probably have to use weeks and months to estimate the time I spent on the Tony Hawk games. That series has really reestablished the importance and fun in setting new high scores. The brilliant level design and fluid control scheme are definitly great aspects. There aren't any glaring camera issues either; it doesn't glitch up or get stuck behind objects. Lastly, the gameplay is easy to grasp, but incredibly deep. I think it's just those factors and the sheer variety in the game that I would like to see passed onto other games.

Writing will the real S@bretooth please stand up?
Charles replied to TheShinje's topic in Creative Works
Haha, it's good to see that my music factory has influenced someone. This is longer than the lyrics I fiddled around with, so I give you mucho credit. -
You can't give yourself a custom status. I remember an old thread asking about custom ranks and James said that he would think about it when people reached the highest preset ranking. So, you're out of luck unless you reach that rank or convince him to give you one.

He ran four long fingers through his ghostly white hair and rose before her. Nepenthe noticed how his bronze skin glowed like a statue. What a marvelous creature Lezaza was; he hadn't lost his luster after remaining idle for over a millennia. A thousand burdens had been lifted from his shoulders; he almost forgot about his uninvited, albeit, welcomed guest. Sacrifices and tributes littered his resting place. Bronze cups shaped by the hands of the gods, bones of extinguished animals decorated with spider webs, and fine pottery all lie at his feet undisturbed. No one dared rape his gifts--out of both respect and fear. Banners lined with gold hung lifelessly about their heads depicting famous battles and tales. Nepenthe circled the bewildered wizard, a circling hawk. His eyes were two snowballs, cold as ice and lifeless. Despite the thin smile spread across his frozen lips, Lezaza's eyes showed no happiness, no warmth. His fingers each bore a splendid ring, most gold, others decorated with rubies, gems or icy diamonds. Nepenthe was without words; she stood admiring the precious fruits of her labor; he was magnificent. Slowly, she approached him, she was drawn to him unwillingly, unknowingly. She saw her hands stretched out, reaching for his inhumanly statuesque body. Part of her wanted to be sure that he was real, not a marble statue. He snapped her hands up in his own and pressed them to his cheek. She didn't resist, couldn't resist. It felt like she was touching a sheet of ice, her skin stung with pain. Nepenthe took one step back, but he pulled her close and forced his mouth onto hers. Jack Frost nipped at her nose. Quickly she wrenched herself free. Her lips were purple and blue, her nose a crimson red. She opened her mouth to speak, but a veil of frosty mist rose about. "What's wrong," he said trying to play with her hair, only to have his hands swatted away. "G-g-get your hands off me b-before," she shivered, only to be cut off mid-sentence. "--Before what," he teased, "surrender yourself to me; become my harlot and accept the splendors of unbridled nature." Lezaza ran his hands down her abdomen and below her waist line before she found the willpower to wrench herself free again. "I awakened you for one reason and one reason only" she chastised. "Hmm," he asked underneath his breath nonchalantly. Bearing her teeth, almost growling, she replied, "You're a tool that will assist me in defeating the fire witch. Nothing more. If you refuse, I'll see to it that you sleep forever. No one will be able to reach you this time." Nepenthe glared into Lezaza's eyes triumphantly and folded her arms. He remained silent for what seemed an eternity. The smile disappeared from his face, like a frozen winter season melting into spring. "People will talk," he said softly, almost whispering, "and they will think. They believe that they have free will. You will talk, and you will hear, but you will never listen.. Nepenthe, you are ignorant, completely oblivious to everything--even to the purpose of your very existence. It escapes you. I am so much more. I am the answers. You have made the grave mistake of finding the answers before you even recognized the questions, my dear."
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel You posted it in the wrong place. It's not locked at all, it's in one of the game forums. The Sony one actually.
 Actually, I locked it in there too, lol. I remember seeing his post before Justin ever got to it, hoping that it wouldn't be moved there. I know that I've already explained my reasoning behind locking the topic again, but I just want to make it clear to aj142 that it's nothing personal and that I'm not trying to be unfair either.

Oh man, I feel kind of bad. You're a new member and all, and this is the second time you've created this thread, and I have no choice but to swoop in and close it. That must be pretty discouraging :bawl: Anyway, I don't see much intelligent discussion coming of this. People will just reply pointlessly. You know? I will vote for my own because it took forever and I want it to get at least one player vote, lol. I think that mine was the most atmospheric anyway. Oh well. They all have their strengths. I knew not to in the poll, but I was confused which is why I am late.

Hehe, I bought a Sega CD about a year ago just for Sonic CD. I always wanted that game when I was young, but couldn't afford a Sega CD back then, lol. Anyway, I'm not too impressed with the screens. The specular lighting looks a little improved, but I don't notice any significant enhancements. It's mainly the game's flawed design that I disliked anyway. I prefer the first Sonic Adventure because the sequel downplayed Sonic. I've always liked Sonic games because of the exhilarating sensation of speed and the ability to pull off crazy twists and loops/corkscrews. The first Sonic Adventure retains some of that to an extent, whereas Adventure 2 almost completely discarded it. So, some of you who purchased and were disappointed with Sonic Adventure 2 on GameCube might find a little enjoyment here. Overall, I found Sonic Adventure to be a little shallow though. On the bright side, it's amazing that Nintendo's console is able to handle these ports without Sega's fabled blast processor chip powering it. You should all feel very privileged.

The trailers I've seen of the film are only about a minute long; they show Bruce transforming in his bathroom. I can't draw many conclusions since the footage depicted very little. But, it's a little funny how he actually wanted to transform. From what I remember, he dreaded transforming. He always pleaded with people not to make him angry, hehe. That being said, I liked the original Hulk movie. I probably wore the tape thin when I was a kid, so I'll check out the modern version. ;)

I am kind of on the fence with capital punishment. I'm not going to refute what anyone has said directly because everyone has a point to some extent, so I'll just ramble on for a bit with my own thoughts. First and foremost, I don't feel that the death penalty is state-sanctioned murder. The "You're no better than the murders" argument is popular, but transparently false. Simply put, the state has rights that the private individual does not. In a democracy, those rights are given to the state by the electorate. The execution of a lawfully condemned killer is no more an act of murder than is legal imprisonment an act of kidnapping. I mean, if everyone on Otakuboards lived on one continent and I forced them to pay me under threat of punishment, it would be extortion. If a state or government does it, it's taxation. Rights and responsibilities surrendered by the individual are what give the state its power to govern. The process of carrying out the execution leaves me with mixed feelings. On one hand, as others have said, the convicted murderer will die painlessly. The families will have the satisfaction of seeing the murderer die, but the execution will not be nearly as painful or barbaric as the victim's death. It's not really an "eye for an "eye." On the other hand, I think that the fear of waiting for death might be worse than physical pain and torture. As a matter of fact, fear is the one antagonizing common ground shared by both murderer and victim. Putting a date on anyone's death is sure to lead to a lot of mental stress. Yet, carrying out the death penalty is ineffective, to say the least. State and local governments pay for the prosecution as well as for the defense team; much of this money is spent even if the defendant actually gets a lesser sentence. Once the case gets into Federal Court, oh boy, look out. The United States, as I know it, starts picking up the defense tab and the sums can be pretty darn daunting. Death cases definitely cost more than their non-capital counterparts. The lack of finality is terrible too. Convictions are attacked with more gusto and reviewed with more vigor. So, a lot of the sentences can be vacated. The retrials, and hearings must become tiring for the families. You see, I'm against criminals living it up comfortably in prison, enjoying meals and what not, but murderers might as well get life. The appeals and actual time separating conviction and the death penalty take years upon years, anyway. Moving on, the barbaric death solution I'm hearing sounds fair and all. But, I don't really think it'll stop people from murdering. Especially when we're dealing with crimes of passion or complete insanity. Anyway, yeah, like I said, I'm undecided where I stand. I don't agree with many of the arguments opposing capital punishment (such as innocent executions), but I do doubt the effectiveness involved. That's all I have to say about that. There isn't much anyone can say behind my back. I'm not particularly scandalous or anything. I trust the people I know in my personal life and know that they aren't gossip queens. I find that it's typically acquaintances that talk about people behind their backs. It's kind of understandable because such people only have a fleeting knowledge of who we are. If someone I consider a friend isn't satisfied with who I am, and doesn't approach me with the issues personally, I won't be considering the "Judas" to be a friend of mine much longer. If people do talk about me behind my back, it would probably be on the internet. I've experienced that before. It doesn't bother me much though. People can talk, lol. It's what they do.
Cough...and then they say I don't have a life...cough cough...
I spent five minutes on the lyrics and I get this from a guy who saw The Lord of The Rings: Two Towers eight times (which equals roughly an entire day of one's life). They are right, lol.
Anyway, Crazy White Boy, that's a great song, I read the words along to the track itself, and it all fits in. It's really funny too. *claps*. Oh, any by the way, your signature is cool, as always.!
Hey thanks! I'm glad that you like the sig as well. I imported it from a classic post. The Semjaza convo is just the butter on the bread.
Once again, very funny indeed. I don't really think it's that corny in writing, but if someone were to 'rap' it, I suppose it would sound very, very silly.
Much appreciated. I actually picture Fred Durst rapping the words. It's kind of amusing since I drew the inspiration from a parody called "Posin."
That's worthy of a rasher of freshly smoke bacon there. *Hands over* Charles, how long did that take to make? Hehe, that's a really good use of 'spoof' lyrics, hilarious but with subtlety. Excellent. *Claps* The chorus is especially well done.
You and that blasted bacon. >_< At least it's freshly smoked. Thanks for the compliments and as stated in this post, it was about five minutes of toiling over busted rhymes.
Very silly. I think it could be a rap like that Limp Bizkit song.
Yes, as Shinobi threatened--er pointed out, it is based on Limp Bizkit.
That I couldn't stand, lol. To tell the truth, I didn't even read the whole thing. It just isn't my style or liking. So yeah, I do think it's pretty lame. I mean, I lost my want to read it the first few lines... But I'm not condemning you, either. We all have our flukes.
:worried:
What's wrong with you people? This is a masterpiece. CWB, you have made something wonderful. The beauty of this could only be surpassed by a similar rap/poem about Duck Tales. I urge you to rise to the challenge though.
Gracias! You urge and I respond: Posts are like totally insane here on Otakuboards Plushies, sprites, love shrines - it's an e-blur You might post poetry or talk otaku history Otakuboards, Oo-oo Tales of Big Brother two, and one marshmellow Juu, oo-oo S-s-s-spammer, watch out behind you - there's a ShyGuy out to find you What to do? It's funny how different groups seem to disappear in college. No one seems to care about dress anymore and I haven't seen anyone get picked on. In high school we had our different groups of people. Like most public schools, we had our jocks, gangstas, intellectuals, preps, etc. But, I never really fell into any class, so I couldn't be stereotyped at all. Tis a shame the people become restricted in groups with superficial agendas; it really limits them from getting to know other people they could otherwise be friends with.

Well, it's late; I do strange things at this sort of hour. I will now post the dumbest thing I've ever posted because someone thought it was funny. However, someone else I showed it to disapproved of it, lol. Will the poetry/fanfiction writers condemn me for my uber corny behavior, or will people not think this is the lamest thing they've ever read. One thing is for sure, no one outside of otakuboards will ever see this, lol. The graphics should not be an issue when choosing a next generation system. On paper, the Xbox is the most powerful out of the three, overall. But, I haven't seen many Xbox games that utilize the console's power. All three consoles are fairly even in terms of visuals. In any case, I suggest reading the "Console War" thread, which can be found Here. It should give you a nice overview of each system. I suggest researching the software available on the current consoles and seeing which is suitable to your tastes. The prices aren't as high as they once were at this point and you should be able to find cheap games for not only the Playstation 2, but Xbox and GameCube as well. Several days passed since the incident. The Lost Woods disappeared behind the weary travelers like a bad dream. When they emerged from the fortress of trees and seas of brush, Samantha's eyes glowed with new courage and vigor. Despite the fact that she could not grow physically due to her Kokirian heritage, her spirits and physical strength had increased significantly. Her clothes were smeared with foliage, and bits of dry leaves speckled her matted hair. Both she and June were left wondering why Wolves couldn't be vegetarians. For a brief moment, the small fairy began to consider pursuing an office job in Hyrule. There just weren't enough perks in damp, wild dog infested forests. June cradled her sore arm, which was now wrapped in a small sling. No larger than the menacing wolf's razor sharp teeth, she had taken matters into her own hands; she was a small firecracker. June had huffed and puffed and tugged and pulled with every ounce of strength she could summon up on the wolf's tail, but with little result. The hungry hound could barely feel her touch. Her tiny hands were lost in a mess of fur, and reappeared smelling dreadfully foul. Her nose was still scrunched up, as if it were trying to jump off her face in an effort to escape the odor. That's why her face turned greener than Sam's tunic when she realized what she had to do. June shook off the past as Sam's words penetrated her thoughts. " I can't believe you bit down on that thing's tail, she giggled. Fairy June's face reddened and steam shot forth from her ears with a whistle. "Argh,," she shouted, the taste of dirty mongrel resurfacing in her mouth, "I wouldn't have had to do that if you hadn't choked!" Samantha removed her cap and held it to her nose, mocking her companion with a look of disdain. Her motions were exaggerated, like a childish dance. "I hope there's a vendor that sells breath mints at the sanctuary we're visiting," she said, her voice muffled by the hat. A small sheet of dust began to blow from the ground, plastering the adventurers underneath a new layer of dirt. At least it was warm filth, though. June couldn't help but to laugh; a breath mint sounded good. Well, a breath mint and some tonics to soothe the persistent pain shooting up and down her arm. She took a mental note: A tree trunk can be awfully hard when an angry wolf flings a tiny person into one. June would think twice before biting another large animal's tail. Especially, an animal that obviously hadn't bathed in quite a while. She was still a little surprised at how quickly her partner in crime, Samantha, had reacted. The hesitation and fear that stiffened her muscles melted immediately when she saw her friend in danger. In true heroic fashion, she unsheathed her sword in one, quick motion and brought it down with unbelievable force, force June didn't think Samantha would be able to muster. Sam's blade landed only a glancing blow, merely slicing a few whiskers from her four-legged enemy's muzzle. Unscathed but infused with fear, the wolf had scampered off into the forest, never to bother the two girls again. That night, Sam learned that no feat facing her could be as powerful as her attitude towards it ... for that would always determine her success or failure. Now, the fabled sanctuary lie ahead, their next destination. Neither adventurer was sure what they would find when they reached the mysterious place, but they eagerly anticipated the challenges it would present.

You've really been given a gift that's going to allow you to do some great things as you develop it. The fact that you're able to crank out quality work on a daily basis speaks something and the improvement in your writing is apparent. You still have that lofty style going, but I really like the pacing you're developing. The rhythm is just there. For some reason they remind me of Poe, and that's a very good thing.
