1.
I heard that 2007DigitalBoy was a complete douche! :p But after admitting my obseession, I still think it's not a good idea. What if someone catches on? Maybe the cops will make sure members over 18 are banned. Even though hentai = good, cops = bad! But still we should have a hentai form. Damn it all to hell, now I'm confused...
Premonition is scratching a picture in the sand, obviously very satisfied and very absorbed in the project, for it is taking all of Premonition's brain power to draw his own name. Suddenly, The Boss appears in the entrance of the terrorist cave and motions for Premonition enter. Excitedly, Premonition scampers over to him. "Hey, lol, wuz up Boss?" he says. The Boss squints through the hot, blazing sun at him. His mouth twists in disgust. "Charlie Bin Laden would like to speak with you, immediately." "lol rly?" Premonition says. "Rly--er, really," The Boss says. "w00t!" Premonition says, as he brushes past The Boss and enters the base. When he enters Charlie Bin Laden's cave, sees the terrorist leader, sitting behind a veil of darkness. Only his shining eyes are clearly apparent. "Hello," Charlie says, "Do you know why you are here, Premonition?' Drooling and dumbfounded, Premonition merely grunts in confusion. "You have been quite the active terrorist lately, Premonition. I have a reward for you, come closer." A sickly smile spreads across Charlie's black lips as Premonition inches toward him like an excited puppy. Finally, Premonition is standing right before Charlie. "Now bend down and lean forward," Charlie says. Of course, the unsuspecting Premonition obeys. Charlie immediately slashes him across the throat with a rusty scimitar, sending forth a spray of blood. As Premonition lay on the ground, clutching his neck, wimpering and blathering, Charlie beckons for Rai Al Haswiri and grins as he enters. "Do what you will with this piece of trash, my friend. Take his remains to the Blue Demon's chamber; he will make for a good snack. Suffice to say, his final quest for glory has ended."
 2. Um....yeah, anyway, after Engel's post, we are no longer pursuing an avenue for rescuing him, after that horrendous post he made in the very same topic. For all intents and purposes, he is now considered an enemy. But seriously, I am worried about some of you. The concept of debating in favor of something should not be so confusing. Knuckle up! We have had one guy give away the location of a bomb, and now we have our own terrorists arguing WITH the OBCTU. So help me God, if I see something like this again, there is going to be trouble. At any rate, I am exercising my right as terrorist leader and electing indifference as our spokesperson because right now, I feel that she is a good choice.
 3. You must have made that quote up, Nonentity. Boy, you almost had me going there for a moment though. There is no way that Bkstyles could be foolish enough to say that I rest on my name. Otakuties, Otakupedia, Project Gamer, Newbie Lounge, Make your own Motivation Poster, Put on Your Red Shoes and Dance and the thread ratings debate are hardly examples of where I simply beat my chest and throw my name around while offering no substance in my posts. You almost had be going there. You sly dog, you!
 4. Premonition if you do not delete that anti-hentai post in the suggestions forum, I am going to publicly feed you to the blue demon.
 5. Could someone quote Bksytles for me. I can't see his post because he is on my ignore list. Thanks! :catgirl:
 6. Hey, if anyone would like to contribute some more articles, that would be great. As far as I can tell, we only have two (admittedly awesome) articles to put up this week. I don't really want to make an Otakupedia Friday based on two entries; I like to have about four. So, if anyone has anything they would like to write up--please!
 7. Allamorph, I would argue with your post but there is no way I am wading through all of that. If you need to type that much to prove your point, you are obviously making stuff up. Regardless, hentai is merely sexually explicit illustrations. I have taken several art history classes and analyzed famous art that was at one time criticized for being "pornographic," but is now seen as high culture. Hentai sits in the same unfortunate position; we are viewing artwork that depicts natural beauty, the most intimate expression of human love and desire. Why is it okay that RPGs can feature graphic violence on OtakuBoards, but we shy away from viewing a natural human function that everyone does? It is just a fact of life. Also, someone mentioned that our side of the debate is seeking to exclude people from OtakuBoards by encouraging larger image sizes. On the contrary, this measure would finally give 56k stragglers the incentive to finally get with the times. Furthermore, your side lost complete credibility when Nerdsy said that I am irrelevant. I could post a suggestion about toilet paper and it would get over one-hundred replies and change the boards in some way.
 8.
The Anti-Terrorist Unit is failing miserably at the moment; I don't think you guys are going to win this round.[/font']

I must've missed it. When did the Suggestions & Feedback forum turn into Adventure Square's playground?

 9.
I honestly don't see the big problem about this whole hentai forum deal. I mean come on, quit being such republicans. Since when is it wrong to enjoy some good old fashion girl-on-girl-on-demon-on-rapist action? You're all so old fashioned. Regardless, we could still keep the youngin's, just make the forum itself limited to only specifically registered members. Sure, some of them could lie, but who the hell cares? It's nothing they wouldn't see in a Google search... As for the big banners, since when hasn't bigger automatically been better? Never. It always has been better. The only thing better than a pretty banner is a HUGE pretty banner. Quit supressing the artistic creation of our art community by censoring their might NEED to go beyond the borders of your sizest standards. The time has come to literally expand our artistic borders. As you can see now, I refuse to have a banner until these demands are met and I am allowed to have atleast a 600x1000 banner... I call for a PROTEST! All members in favor follow me!
QFT
Just because I'm arguing against hentai in the forums doesn't mean I don't look at it. ; I simply don't feel it belongs here. It's the same reason I didn't try and get my school to offer a class on anime.
So wait. I am just a little lost here. You do not believe that a facet of anime belongs on OtakuBoards? Perhaps you need to reconsider exactly what an Otaku is.
Main Entry: otaku Part of Speech: n Definition: an avid collector or enthusiast, esp. one who is obsessed anime, video games, or computer and rarely leaves home Etymology: Japanese 'house'
The word "Otaku" directly refers to a group of people so depraved that they do not wander out of the domicile. To suggest that OtakuBoards should not allow these people to browse sexually themed materials is depriving many of them their rights as Otakus--their rights to ogle over well-endowed anime illustrations engaging in artistic sexual activity. We may as well stop Pizza Hut from serving pizza because pizza is too "fatty."
So... simple is less illegal? That's a new one. Would I get less jail time for robbing a bank with a gun than I would for setting up several rube goldberg-like traps for the guards (mostly involving banana peels)?
Since when has hentai been illegal once an age restriction has been put into place?
Further, I for one am not about to promote obsessing over fictional cartoons. I hardly find that to be healthier than actually dealing with a real woman, where the man has a chance of learning how to properly deal with them. Further, allowing porn is hardly an measured reaction.
I once again direct your attention to the definition of the word Otaku; this is as close as many Otakus are ever going to get.
Tell me: how much of that "desire for it to exist" comes from those who are underage? I know a good deal of those who are for it are under 18, and even more are under 21.
Well, it is natural for children to be curious. That is not saying that I am condoning the distribution of pornography to minors. However, they are going to uncover it (no pun intended) regardless, if they are so inclined. If we offer an age restriction, we are upholding our end of the legal issue here.
I'd say that they're a perfect balance. Hm, that didn't work for me either. See, there's always going to be someone moaning about how things aren't balanced; you're going to need more than a simple opinion. If OB were to change its rules just because some unwashed whiner came along and demanded it, the rules would be pointless. In other words, anarchy. I recall a time when the boards were a lawless wasteland; I know you do too. Think long and hard: do you really want to go back to that? Perhaps you should concede defeat, before things are taken too far, before you unleash something you can't control. Well, again.
I am not suggesting that there be no restrictions; the restrictions should just be lightened up a little so that we can enjoy free artistic license. I am just asking for some breathing room so that we can enjoy large, vibrant, beautiful banners and avatars. Is that so wrong, Nerdsy? Does that sound like a wasteland to you? The forums would be bursting with life. That's what they'd be doing.
Good thing I only need to convince an admin. I'm sure that won't be too difficult.
I was an admin before and you are not convincing me; I doubt you will convince the others. I am calling for free love on OtakuBoards; how is that unreasonable?
 10. The black represents the dark days we have seen thanks to people like the OBCTU. The red represents the blood we will need to spill in order to attain fun. The green represents the prosperity to come. JIHAD!
 11.
We are not interested in your proclivities, as long as you don't bring them here. We are not judging you, nor are we telling you not to look at such drawings. We are merely worried about the consequences to OB itself, both in terms of the diminished user base and legal ramifications.
Why are you so uptight? Loosen up and look at some hentai. We are only talking about simple illustrations here that are prevalent in anime to begin with. Perhaps you need to revist the last OtakuBoards picture thread when male members immeidately flocked toward any image a female member posted of themselves. I am sure that not only does the desire for this genre exist on OtakuBoards, it would probably be a healthy diversion for many of our members. At least they could relieve tension by lusting after fictional cartoons instead of stalking real ones on the Internet. Furthermore, if you do not want to see the hentai, then it's not for you. Do not visit that area of the forums. Who are you to tell me that I cannot fap while browsing OtakuBoards? And the current image restrictions are hardly a nice balance. I would go as far as to say that they are anemic. P.S. You mention a diminished user base? 4chan features hentai and it is MUCH more active than OtakuBoards--so I refute you.
 12.
I have to disagree with the idea of larger banners/avatars because they would inevitably lead to slower loading times. While my connection is relatively fast by today's standards, I know there are a lot of members who still use dial-up and 56k. OB has always prided itself on quick loading times and even a minor change in banner sizes could lead to severe lagging. Even most of the current threads in the art studio load slowly for me, and if the entire boards were like that it would definitely discourage me from visiting.
I do not think they would. If we are talking about basic large image with a requirement still placed on the memory of the image, we could still get away with allowing the increase without sacrificing speed. Furthermore, members have the option of disabling signatures if they do not wish to view them. So, if someone is behind-the-times enough to be using 56k, they should have no problem sacrificing signatures in favor of speed. Basically, the options allow them to decide what is practical or not. We should not have to suffer because someone has a slow connection speed. I visit many forums that allow big banners and none of them load slowly; keep in mind that these are far more active forums. So, I doubt that OtakuBoards would be affected too much.
As for hentai: TheOtaku.com and OtakuBoards are family sites. While we occasionally dabble in more 'adult' content in RPGs and discussions, we are always clear about putting up a disclaimer to warn younger members. Having an entire public forum devoted to cartoon porn seems unneccessary, and it would put us in direct conflict with the family-friendly environment we try to promote on the boards. If you want to discuss hentai so badly you can always create a thread about it in the Anime Lounge, just be sure to put up a disclaimer of some kind. Anything more than a handful of threads about the subject would hurt the forum, and attract the wrong kinds of members to our little community.
We could easily put a disclaimer up in the forum description--and the forum could be collapsed in one's user settings. I think that it is obvious that the membership here at OtakuBoards has grown up. Most RPGs and fiction stories deal with very mature adult content and themes. I think the point here is that we view hentai as a form of artwork--not porn. We view sex as a beautiful expression of human emotion and that expression, combined with the anime' art style we all love so much, seems like it could be a great contribution to what the site has to offer. Many members have clammored for a yaoi forum over the years, so the interest is there. So, while I think we should still keep our family-friendly forums going strong, it would be great if we went off and explored other avenues for a change so that the forums do not become stagnant. This is OtakuBoards and we need to cater to all forms of anime in order to live up to that name.
Are you trying to invite sexual predators and deviants to OB?
Come now, Shy. Is stereotyping really necessary? Does Raiha look like a predator or a deviant to you? Nomura? Mitch? Myself? Sara? Desertphoenix? I think that ordinary people can enjoy this form of art. It could be said that any messageboard is capacble of attracting deviants, but we all know that the moderating staff is capable of dealing with that issue. I do not think that we should live in fear of predators and deviants; they are all over the place on the Internet and we cannot restrict features just because they may be "out there." But, we can always keep an eye on things and deal with them if need be. I mean, by the same token, myOtaku could be a window for sexual predators to contact children, couldn't it? And that site is much larger in scope and difficult to moderate.
 13.
The beast will not speak for these animals. It will hunt on its own. And it will strike the heart of the traitor without mercy...it is indifferent to these contests. But if the mad king wishes it, so the beast shall obey...for now.
Charlie ran his fingers through his beard and told the Blue Bomber that he would not make him speak for the team, but he needed his participation in the terrorist attack in the suggestions forum, due to the Triad uniting there.
 14.
Three easy steps: 1. Change the required age of registration to 18. 2. Ban all current members under 18. (Apologies to Nonentity, Not Nomura, Madhat, Premonition, etc. We'd love to grandfather you in, but laws are laws, and the OB can't afford the consequences that might come with distributing pornographic images to minors.) 3. Party (18+) in the new hentai lounge!
It's not pornography--it's cartoon art that is shared freely in Japan.
 15.
[B']I've just skimmed through it real quick. But I'll check it multiple times after. I did that before. So how will we decide our spokesperson? Will we vote or something?
Yes, I would like some volunteers in this thread and we can discuss it. It's not terribly important that we keep it a secret who our spokesperson should be. I think that my votes would go to either indifference or Alex. Also, like I said reread that pm and act as soon as possible on the bottom portion. It's vital.
 16. I have to agree with both of these suggestions. The banners we use right now are currently sickly small. A huge size increase would surely attract more members because big banners send a message of big fun. Also, we constantly stress that this forum is also for adults but we don't offer basic services related to adult anime, like hentai.
 17. I encourage everyone to check their private messages. Round Two has begun and the pm contains some very useful information. VERY USEFUL. I implore everyone to be as prompt with it as possible!
 18. I have another announcement. I'm bringing Semjaza back as a terrorist. I'm looking to sign him to a lucrative contract.
 19.
I think, in this manga, Grape Ape would take offense to someone who trivializes the war by calling it a 'game.' However, he is willing to admit that there is a spy within the ranks of the terrorists as well. Grape Ape thinks that with the way your 'loyal' followers are leaking information, it would be difficult for you to discern the real terrorists from the spies. In the manga, he would offer the terrorist leader a tray of cupcakes as a temporary peace offering between the two sides while they discuss the details of this further. Your thoughts? -Shy
Interesting. I can see why the Grape Ape character would think that. I think that in the context of the story, it would be odd if one of the terrorist leader's own men was foolish enough to do, like, the worst thing possible. I can also see why the Grape Ape would spread it around as propaganda. I think that, in this manga, I would draw the flippant terrorist, who accidentally leaked information in the style of a cuckold. Perhaps in anime spirit, I would have a large teardrop perpetually hanging next to his head, and his arm bent behind his head to show embarrassment. I could then imagine the terrorist leader graciously accepting one of your delicious baked sweets and handing it to the mouthy terrorist, so that his mouth would be stuffed. The terrorist leader would probably then remind the Grape Ape that there was still a bomb remaining, tap him on the cheek playfully, and wish him luck in uncovering the spy--because the terrorists would show their intelligence by doing a much better job of it.
 20. Just an announcement: everyone, please observe our thread rating and be sure to watch the language--this also covers sexual innuendo, such as "sucking balls" and such. So please, no sucking balls in this RPG. It just will not due. We as terrorists must set a higher standard. Thank you. Also, please disregard any private message about Nomura by Shy. It is completely fabricated nonsense created by the enemy to cause chaos among us.
 21. There will be no punishment; this is just a heads-up. lol
 22. I want to encourage all of my terrorists to be around tomorrow afternoon if possible. At that time, we will prepare to launch another attack--this one even more devastating than the Mitch slap. At that time, we should have even more terrorists amongst our ranks.
 23. Well, in my manga, the terrorist leader does concede to The Grape Ape that there is indeed a terrorist spy amongst the OBCTU. He then proposes that the Grape Ape and the Terrorist Leader play a little game after the last remaining bombs explode, so see which side can uncover their "rat." However, I am not sure whether or not I should make the Grape Ape accept the offer. Perhaps the OBCTU wouldn't have the guts. Maybe you can give me some input Shy?
 24. A meeting between us and the anti-terrorists has begun! http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?p=777063#post777063
 25. I have this concept for a Manga, in which a terrorist faction was embroiled in a deep conflict with an anti-terrorist police force. Both sides are constantly trying to one-up the other side. The terrorists threaten the anti-terrorist unit with bombs, but the anti-terrorist forces are swift to locate them. So, the terrorists recruit the most dangerous of allies and make several desperate attacks. However, the terrorist leader receives intel in which he discovers that there could be a potential spy amongst his ranks--so, he wishes to discuss the matter with the anti-terrorist unit's leader, because if the terrorist leader finds out who the informant is, he is likely to kill the traitor unmercifully. So, the terrorist leader, not being such a bad guy at all, and would never try anything like this himself, wishes to resolve the matter in a diplomatic way. I think the art style I would go for would be very gritty; the terrorist's side would use very few colors, while the anti-terrorists would use bright, vibrant colors. What are your thoughts?
