Originally posted by bra Accually I think thatKid Buu was stronger than the other buus.. The first form was fat buu. He was the weakest and then he just kept getting stronger.
Yes, Kid Buu is the stongest form of Majin Buu and the original form before he absorbed any of the Kaioshins. After absorbing South Kaioshin Buu gained his muscular form. Following that battle, he absorbed Dai Kaioshin when he came to the rescue of who you all know as Shin. That's when he became Fat Buu. When Buu' victims are removed from his body, he becomes completely evil and loses all sense of good. Because he no longer holds back or has remorse, he is incredibly powerful. The only reason that Son Gokou stood a fighting chance was because Kid Buu didn't really have wisdom like the other incarnations.

I believe--that the new Mortal Kombat title has potential. That being said, I am not so sure that it will sell well; its name value isn't quite up to what it once was. After a string of poor games and a horrible film, and years of absence from the spotlight, its notoriety as a popular franchise has to be wavering. Obviously, this franchise was built on controversial content rather than a quality engine. With heavy hitters like Virtua Fighter 4 and Tekken 4 on the market, Ed Boon better be sure that the on-the-fly fighting style system is smooth and user friendly--or isn't merely a small dose of fresh paint on an ancient structure. The fact that this game isn't launching in arcades first means that it will have an advantage that no other Mortal Kombat game before it had. We should be seeing more fleshed out storylines and a wealth of modes. At least the developers seem to realize that it takes a quality engine to sell copies though. They definitely seem to be downplaying the importance of finishing moves. That's a good thing considering that such exploitation won't cut it anymore.

If my pal Rob (Vampire Ed) sees this topic, goodness help me, lol. He purchased the game quite a while back and instantly acclaimed it as a quality rpg and encouraged me to give it a chance. Suffice to say, it didn't go over well with me. I might be judging a little too harshly, but the only thing that captured my attention with this game was the combat system. Everything else was just the same old, boring coming-of-age cliche gimmick. I just thought that the fog storyline was uninspired and that the characters were nothing special. Compound those factors with graphics that would make the wicked witch cry, and you've got yourself one heck of a stinker. There's just so many better role-playing games out there for the PSX.....

" Happiness is like a butterfly; chase it and it flies away, but wait patiently and it will land softly on your shoulder."
If you ask this guy out, you won't be happy. Judging by your incessant inner moral debate, I'm guessing that you would feel very guilty and sad in this relationship, ultimately ending in an early break-up. If you see this girl every day and she is a friend of yours, I doubt that the guilt will fade quickly. It might actually grow. You're young and you'll find other guys. There's no need to trouble yourself with this. I bet that you'll actually feel better if he does indeed say yes to her. I mean, it's not like you should be in a rush to settle down already. This boy shouldn't be a potential husband. Have fun, date around. Don't believe that the buck stops here with this one person. You have plenty of time to find that "special someone" lol. Because she has confided in you, you would probably appear as a back stabber if you go behind her and approach the boy.

There's nothing wrong with comedy being implemented in your role-plays. Especially with your character choice. It lends a dark edge. If you truly want contructive criticism, then you can work a bit on adding just a touch more descriptive details. Other than that, your role-plays are very creative. Good writing. :thumbs up:
Originally posted by Reflection This game scared the hell out of me, I can hardly play the game anymore. Does anyone have Silent Hill 2? And is it any good?
The game bored the hell out of me, lol. I know that I'm in the minority here, but I found the game to be too slow and cumbersome. Navigating the various complexes were a pain, due to the control interface and bleak lighting. I know that the dim visuals were supposed to induce fear and create tension, but it just wasn't my style. Silent Hill 2 seemed like a fine game overall, but I just couldn't get into it. The monster designs themselves didn't impress me, but their actions were really creepy. It's a shame that I never felt the urge to learn to like this one.

Raiha, yours was really unique. So far, you're the only one to actually give the woman and location a name. Persephone sounds very nice. I really like that approach. Harlequin, I loved your interpretation as well, in that I also haven't seen anyone use the figures to represent Jesus or Mary. But, like others, you represented the "male" figure as a victim. Good stuff. Rico's and mine are like opposite sides of the coin, lol. I actually felt good after reading that. It was more of a story form, instead of symbolic and managed to shed a bright outlook on bleak imagery. Even though "his" lover is facing death, she isn't painted out to be a victim. It's more of an escape. I'm anxious to see Anime Lover's. ^_^;;

Nah, I'm not a kid. I'm a twenty-one year old man, lol. God, I have to change this name sometime. Anyway, Neil, if I ever catch you challenging my spot as Mr. Satan's number one fan, I'm going to have to embarrass you in your own sparring forum, lol. :p As for Endymion--Baba is not an earthling. I would consider her to be a mythological correspondent of Lord Enma. So, she's not really relevant to my comment. Besides, could Baba do any of the following?
He single handedly defeated Cell He can pull not one, not two, not three, but FOUR buses! He can rip 3 telephone books in half He can break 19 tiles with one, count it, ONE chop He dodged TWO of Buu's attacks without even breaking a sweat He has won every tournament he has ever entered, not even the mighty Cyborg 18 was a match for him.
Oh my goodness, yes, I have to close this. We don't prohibit advertising other sites on the boards. I suggest using a search engine, but I don't think that there are many more developments on this sure-to-be lackluster game. Maybe you should pm Transtic Nerve. I bet he'd know a good site. lol.

Yep, Piro knows what he's talking about. In fact, my first ever post on these forums were arguing that Mr. Satan is the most powerful warrior in the DragonBall Z Universe (He was never killed, while Gokou and Vegeta were numerous times). Following that stint, I then went on to argue that he was discriminated against, and portrayed as Jewish in my NaziBall Z theorem. (Herous Comedus) Mr. Satan is one of the most, if not the most important character in the entire series. If it weren't for Mr. Satan, Videl would have never been born. Hence, we would have no Pan in DragonBall GT. Pan is a very vital character. In fact, she helps Gokou gain control of his mind in Golden Oozaru form and achieve SSJ4. Furthermore, Mr. Satan, being the respected figure that he is, assisted Gokou in getting the Earthen people's assistance in his battle with Buu. If the people had never raised their arms and donated energy for the Genki Dama, who knows how things would have turned out? It was also Mr. Satan who had the greatest success in easing the threat that was Majin Buu. Gokou and Goten's fancy fusion and SSJ3 techniques were nowhere near as effective as Mr. Satans diplomatic peace-making ways. He proved that a warrior doesn't need to possess great power to win a battle. Plus, as everyone has mentioned, Mr. Satan can't be matched for his comedic value. I mean, it was so hilarious when he said, "F---- you Buu, I'll shoot your _ss down," and attempted to actually shoot Majin Buu with a pistol. Plus, he reminds me of my favorite wrestler, Hulk Hogan. He even has the cape. Great stuff. ^_^

You could go to TheOtaku.com. I'm sure that since this topic advertises other sites, it's going to be heaped upon with much vengeance. If not, I'll have to restudy my rules, lol.

The painting you see above is entitled "Cup of Death." In my class, we did an exercise where we had to create a brief story, simply by observing the painting. I have posted my impression of the painting below. I thought that it would be pretty fun if others also tried. Should anyone be interested, remember that you don't have to do a serious style. You could write about Harry meeting Sally for all I care. It would be fun to read, lol. Yeah, so if you find mine boring or whatever, don't feel bound to it. Use your own style. My Version Somehow she awoke in a place outside of space and time. Underneath death's pitiful gaze, madam enjoyed the last of her days. The fallen angel of death, lord of the perished, carried his newest bride across the threshold of neither heaven nor hell, but somewhere in-between, removing her from the life she once cherished. His wings rose and fell. A chorus of regretful whispers and wails belonging to those long passed, cradled and lifted the cursed lovers beyond the setting sun and into a somber, moonlight night. Bowing his head, whispering sweet incantations, the bridegroom gently raised the cup of death to his new wife. Between her lips passed a sweet, forbidden nectar. A blind bargain she had made, drinking to her wedlock on the cursed grounds of Eden. One last gasp escaped, a choking plea. It whistled between rustling grass and finally found the heavens that her soul could not, desperately begging an unseen God for redemption. Decaying, rotting, dying, she raised her arms, opened her palms and begged, "Mercy, mercy." God did not answer. It's not his way. And rot she did, pleading, bleeding, immortality denied.

When you're absent from school you have a responsibility to get the assignments or remain after school to catch up. School is a lot like work. You have an obligation to be there and things don't stop operating because you're gone. Anyway, school is there for your own benefit. Once you go to college and take courses that you're more interesed in, it becomes a lot more enjoyable.

Gaming Wow GC 1st anny. and I must say I am a lil........
Charles replied to GhostofSalvtore's topic in Noosphere
Bah, I actually traded Wrestlemania X8 in yesterday and was ridiculed by Electronic Boutique's employees for owning a Gamecube, lol. They told me that they enjoy the looks of disappointed people who try to find a game, but discover that it's not out on the GameCube, "the console of five games." I figured that since they work at the store, they would have some knowledge of gaming. Judging from other remarks they made, I knew that they were Microsoft fan boys. Hell, they called the place "Xbox Headquarters." You just don't sell a product by isolating people and goading them into buying what you like. Oh well. In any case, the GameCube, while lacking games compared to the Playstation 2, has infinitely better third party support than the Nintendo64 did. In fact, most of the big third party titles arrive on all three consoles anyway. If you're disappointed about the loss of Perfect Dark, I suggest checking out the aforementioned Metroid Prime or Die Hard: Vendetta. Both should be fine games. -
From what I understand, intelligent favorite topics are allowed. A "Pepsi or Coke" thread or a "whats ur favorite dragonballz character" topic is generally considered pointless and overdone. If your topic encourages actual discussion and effort centered around something reasonable and discusses why,as you put it, something is your favorite, then it is usually allowed. I, for one, have made exceptions in the Sony forum for quality favorite topics.
-
I don't think that the favorite character portion of your thread will go over well. Read the rules for further explanation on that matter. As for the former part of your question, Gohan and Goten don't "turn on" Gokou. While inside of Majin Buu, Gokou and Vegeta must combat "shadows" or mirages of Gohan, Goten and Picollo. They are essentially thought forms created by Majin Buu.
Originally posted by gokents yea buus cool, but everyone knows and Im sure you do too. hes gonna go on a diet really soon, a buu diet. if you dont know, just wait and see. plus, buu is cool. hes a really good original charactor design. and the evolution he goes through is also great too.
I'm sorry, but he doesn't seem too original to me. Furiza, Cell and Buu are all strikingly similar in concept. In each of these sagas they are revered as the most powerful warrior ever. Whenever someone begins to rival them, they change form and become stronger. Like Cell, he could absorb people (only to a greater extent) and regenerate. Buu was original in that he was the only villain to have a good side though and the inner struggle and foreshadowing are interesting. So, I'll agree that he was original to that extent. At least he destroyed the world too, lol.

Well, like the others said, he was fairly even with Buu in terms of power. But,his young age acts as his Achilles heel. During the fight, he constantly invents mostly useless attacks in order to have a spectacular fight. His primary cocern throughout the battle is that no one is going to be around to see how extraordinary his battle is. So, his fight with Buu is about even until the fusion wears off. It should be noted, that as mentioned earlier, he seemed to have the upper hand. Buu was defiitely the better warrior though, since Gotenks has an immature fighting spirit. Beause of this, I don't think that he was really trying to beat Gotenks. Since Gotenks is easily distracted, Buu could have easily absorbed him.

Yes, the .233 caliber ammunition that he is using is common among hunters and military personnel. If this serves as any indication towards his experience with artillary, and we respect him for killing innocent people, then wouldn't we be respecting the 9/11 hijackers for hijacking planes with box cutters? I only have respect for people who use their skill to help people. This "person" is abusing their abilities. That's all there is to it. I don't believe that there's much of a connection between the victims. The only lead that I know of thus far is that three victims were close to a Micheal's Craft store. A crime is a crime and a coward is a coward. This individual won't stop until s/he is caught. By shooting women and children, this character attempting to surround "himself" in a legacy of some sort. And, let's not mistake his skill while we're at it. Those people felt pain. That boy lying on the ground, shot in the chest, was awake. The only respectable move that this person can make now is turning the gun on themselves. That'll be the best shot s/he ever made.

A friend who dislikes you simply because you choose to watch anime isn't really a friend at all. I don't know if this is really about anime though. It sounds like she's just going through puberty or something and taking a greater interest in boys.

This thread makes me beam with pride. I actually have a bet going with a coworker about this game. If he can pick it up without reserving it on release day and show me the receipt, I will have to pay for his copy of the game. When he fails to purchase the game, he will owe me that money. According to people I've talked to, his chances of winning this bet are around one percent. Oh well, nonetheless I reserved the game because it was reserve only. I knew that it would be a hard one to pick up.

Hmm, this is tough, lol. The difference between molecules and pixels is that pixels are the basic unit of composition for images. Be it on a computer screen or a television screen or what have you. I have never been big on science, but from what I remember, beings or objects composed of molecules take up space--or have matter. The "people" in the Sims are not composed of matter, but pixels rather. So, as Iwould understand it, each individual player model does not have matter and consequently does not take up space. For something to truly exist, I always figured that it should, by all means, take up space. A rock, air, blade of grass, or a bird's nest all, though lacking the ability to think, do take up space. Thus, they exist.
A blade of grass has none of these. Yet it is still living. The definition I learned in prebiology last year for "living" was: ability to grow, reproduce, consume nourishment, and respond to change. Sims can perform all of these, right? I think it was Sims' package that says, "If it were any more realistic, it'd be illegal to turn it off."
Heh, you have me there. Very nice. But, I was only comparing the Sims "people" to real people. Once again, grass on Earth has matter. Grass in The Sims, which would most likely be a texture or rendered image (I'm not too familiar with the game) would be composed of pixels. Again, I'm not a science buff, but from what I understand, grass is around 70% water give or take. Furthermore, like trees, it gives off oxygen. The Sims grass requires nothing to live and doesn't operate by the laws of nature. Referring to my other points, it's not composed of actual matter.
Apparently, your definition of existence is being a human in this world
Nope. I know that it came off like that though. A lot of that post was basically comparing the humans in The Sims to real human life. Anyway, I don't mean to be redundant, but dreams don't take up any sort of space. If you dream up a keyboard design, it's essentially an idea. The experience that the idea creates exists. Thoughts exist as tiny packets of energy called thought forms and they carry out the intent of the thinker. I'm not going to argue that dreams don't exist as energy, but I just consider them as a part of a person--something The Sim's people probably don't have. Hmm, you seem to know a great deal more than I do about science, and I'm not sure if anything I said is too relevant. But, I had to give it one last go, lol.
