1. Are you referring to Excalibur 2555 AD for the PSX? If so, that's not exactly new. In fact, it released sometime in 1997.... I have not heard of a PS2 Excalibur game, so I gather that the laughing smilie means that you're being sarcastic or something. So, kindly enlighten me....someone, lol.
2.
Originally posted by Shadow Night I was just wondering (its on a similar topic) but how do you create the dragon balls? can anyone do it? Because if Goku did it then the dragon balls would be incredibally powerful.
Only a Namek can create DragonBalls. If Gokou could do it, there would have been no need to travel to the planet Namek and face Furiza. Also, Gokou wouldn't have traveled to the new Planet Namek via "instant transmission" to find a new gaurdian for Earth. lol, Heck, if anyone could do it, Bulma wouldn't have gone on her crazy adventures with chibi Gokou in order to wish for the perfect boyfriend.
3. When I'm alone I try to think of ways to make the world a better place. Sometimes I stare up into the heavens and devise wonderful poems and sing to woodland creatures. Pffft, who the hell am I kidding? I act just the same except I can pass off bodily functions with less embarrassment. Unfortunately, I'm barely ever alone.....
4.
Originally posted by projekt_navi i dunno .. maybe because compared to snake .. raiden is a boy scout - source EGM h0h0h0h0
Hmm..yeah, but would a boys scout be nicknamed "Jack the Ripper?" ;) People tend to stereotype the Raiden character based on his rather feminine appearance. However, one must understand that the character himself is very capable. Honestly, if we were to go as far as to compare ourselves to Raiden, very few real people would be capable of doing his job. Especially with his other half constantly contacting him over personal problems. Personally, my problems with the Raiden character are associated with the aforementioned constant interruptions and romantic involvement. I'm not against romance in games, but the subject matter surrounding this game's atmosphere doesn't call for it. Romance in Final Fantasy X? I'm all for it. Romance on a covert mission, possibly involving nuclear weaponry? No way. It's been a while since I played the game, but if I recall correctly, the President of the United States was being held hostage. If that is the case, why on Earth would Raiden's superiors allow someone even remotely emotionally close to him be involved in the mission? The mystery surrounding Raiden is one of his positive aspects. Once we learned of personal matters that we shouldn't even been subjected to, this mystery wavered. When the game was finished, I felt that I knew more about Raiden than I did Snake himself, lol. Konami should have introduced us to the character and allowed fans of the series to become acquainted with Raiden before basing an entire game on him. At least Metal Gear Substance will allow us to interchange characters; a feature that should have been present in MGS2: Sons of Liberty.
5. Hmm, this reminds me a lot of those "You say a word, I say a word threads." This will be closed for two reasons. Reason number one is that this forum is for discussing gaming. Otaku Adventures is the area in which you play games. Seeing as how this is indeed a game, the thread is inappropriate for this section. The second reason, is that people will be able to answer in approximately one or two words, which breaks our rules regarding SPAM. With that said, and the wave of my hand, I say "Bad topic go bye bye."
6. You guys are missing the point, lol. Roshi would not have had to battle Gokou. Rather, he could have simply destroyed the moon, as he did when he was masquerading as Jackie Chun. And yes, he would have heard of the destruction due to television and such. Plus, Neil, keep in mind that Gokou wouldn't have nearly advanced in fighting technique as much, had he remained evil because Roshi wouldn't have trained him. Thus, the Earth's warriors would have been more than a match for him.
7. Well, Oozaru form would not have accounted for much success. Surely, Gokou would have achieved mass destruction, but Roshi might have simply destroyed the moon as he had done during the Tenkaichi Budoukai. Clearly, that event in the DragonBall timeline demonstrates that Earth's warriors aren't utterly helpless against the transformation.... I believe that had Gokou not hit his head on the rock and cleared his mind, he would have never become the warrior that he later becomes. After all, much of his progression as a warrior can be attributed to his pure heart. The Saiya-jins had reached a point where they had become over confident and eager to please Furiza, and had not scouted planet Earth for worthy fighters. Come to think of it, the demise of the Saiya-jin race can be placed on this brash, careless attitude. So, judging by Gokou's rank as a low level fighter and the quality of Earth's fighters at the time, one can surmise that Gokou would not have been successful.
8. Like shibatku, I'd say Pac-Man....I've never gotten the perfect score in Pac-Man. Seeing as how there's only one guy in the world who's been reported to have accomplished this, I doubt that any of you have either, lol. :p
9.
Originally posted by Desbreko Yes, there was that previous thread... That's now old, dead, and not to mention closed...
Yep, but the other one mentioned the game possibly moving to other platforms. Thus, 'twas useful. :toothy: When it comes to improvements, I would like to see a more reliable framerate. Which, of course, I know we'll see, because the problem was attributed to hardware limitations previously. As far as improving the actual game goes, improved artificial intelligence, further importance on stealth and online play would go a long way on making me a happy gamer.
10.
Originally posted by GhostofSalvtore Actually I have always thoght Perfect Dark was the best FPS if Halo had bots then it would probably get that cuz I really like the plasma grenades that stick its always fun to just throw grenades and hope they stick on your friends.
Perfect Dark was a worthy successor to Goldeneye, except for the irritating frame rate. Playing the game in lower resolution or in letterbox helped, but in the end, Rare pushed the game further than the N64 hardware could handle. That being said, the addition of multiplayer bots would have added to the overall game, but they wouldn't have erased many of the other flaws present in Halo. My largest gripes tend to coincide with everyone else's. The overall level design and repetitive nature of the game hurt the overall experience. But, Halo is still a fine game by any means. It's just not perfect like the EGM editors emphatically said, lol.
11. Well, upon reading your sign-up, I've come to the conclusion that it was too long. Not for me per say, but I've come to realize that people just prefer not to sink their teeth into in-depth material. In the future, you could include imagery throughout your sign-up. The last rpg that I put together (DragonBall AD) was a long sign-up, but the pictures that I included must have kept others' attention.... And you should have posted this in your other topic, if at all. Quite frankly, a true master of the rpg doesn't complain about their failure; they correct possible mistakes and try again. ;)
12. I always remove the games from the console when I'm done for some reason. Go figure. Although I haven't been playing many games lately, I usually play either Resident Evil or Rogue Leader when I switch on the ole' GameCube. For some unholy reason, I can't get enough of those games. Probably because they're two of the main reasons I purchased the console itself.....
13. Wasn't there already a topic about this? Oh yeah! It was THIS ONE. ;) Although no release date has been set, I would expect the game to release sometime late 2003 or early 2004. Considering as how Nintendo usually hypes it's big titles long before they release, and how little everyone knows of Perfect Dark Zero, it's easy to predict that it'll be quite a while before we pop this one into the GameCube. Quite frankly, Nintendo wouldn't release the game even remotely close to Metroid Prime......
14.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Hasn't Soul Reaver 2 been out quite a while now? Maybe I'm mistaken.
Nope, you're not mistaken, lol. Neil has only just purchased a PS2, so I guess that he has some catching up to do with games. Moving on, I'm a bit strapped for cash lately, so I will probably limit myself to picking up games that are reliable and that I've been looking forward to. So....I'll probably just sit on the bench with Madden 2003, beause quite frankly last year's version will do, since I very rarely play that even. Dragon's Lair 3D and Run Like Hell look promising, but I might just have to settle for Tekken 4 or Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. Then again, Star Fox Adventures for GameCube releases around that time, so I'll probably have a tough decision to make, heh. Above all, Grandia Xtreme is a must own for me though. I'm not saying that it's superior to any of the aforementioned titles; I'm just a Grandia mark. :) One thing is for sure....the Holiday season is going to be killer with three consoles duking it out....

What the hell was the point of this, lol? So, I don't like Cowboy Beebop much. Why'd you have to show our AIM conversation to everyone? Solid Snake and amibasuki basically covered everything....except for your sick obsession with me. O.o;;;;; Kiddo, take your vitamins, learn the rules, ignore my lack of anime knowledge, but learn from my gaming wisdom and you'll get somewhere. Now go get a life or somethin' will ya? ;)
16. I'm not a big fan of this topic, lol. You're basically rehasing the same exact topic in all of the gaming forums. In any case, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and allow this to stay since it's not breaking any real rule. Neil's topic was the closest to this and it's pretty old and was far more broad.....
17.
Originally posted by GhostofSalvtore 2D RPG's still seem to be around on the Playstation with games like Arc the Lad and Lunar, these games still seem to be a big hit , but when some games go 3D it seems like some gamers are turned off by that, maybe because when the company makes that transition they don't do well in the story part of the RPG.
Well, new two-dimensional games in general are rare. We've seen the Final Fantasy series, Mario, Zelda and even Suikoden ushered into the era of three-dimensional gaming with amazing results. When Sony, Nintendo and Sega initially launched their 3-D systems, they were all racing to capitalize on an exciting new direction in console gaming. Sony, themselves made it very difficult for a company to get a license to write a two-dimensional game. Thanks to Sony's strict "no 2-D" policy in the early days of the PlayStation, the first two Arc the Lad games remained in Japan, despite the rarity of RPGs here at the time. Also, keep in mind that the games you say are still around, are from the early to mid 90's. Because of the exploitation of 3-D, and the success it has generated, many of today's gamers are ignorant of 2D. In my opinion, the three-dimensional medium can allow environments and characters to come to life better than two- dimensional games; specifically in areas of expressing emotion. However, with the proper programming, many two-dimensional games remain superior to their three dimensional brethren. On the other hand, very few will argue that Arc the Lad III's crude three-dimensional graphics were superior to it's predecessors. One of my favorite games of all time remains Castlevania Symphony of the Night. The gameplay was (and is) deeper than a great deal of 3-D games, allowing the player to utilize a massive number of items and spells. Similarly, I still prefer Marvel vs. Capcom 2 or Street Fighter Alpha 3 over a good margin of bare bones 3-D games on the market. You see, as long as developers are able to evolve their products and give us something new, I don't care what dimension the game is in. As was mentioned, if the proper development time and funding were given to a two-dimensional game with today's hardware, the possibilities would be amazing.
18. Referring to the topic starting post, I feel completely opposite on my opinion regarding new ideas being added to old characters. When new abilities or features aren't added, we run into a problem. Think about it. We've been playing the same Mega Man and Tomb Raider games for years, and they're obviously not progressing in popularity, heh. Due to the fact that Mega Man experiences slight variations in special ability when he defeats a boss, it's not quite as bad....but you get the idea. Innovation is what allows the same characters to evolve as years past. Let's face it; no one wants to play the same game for twenty years. ;)
19. Yes and we've recently had a topic very similar to this, that is still on the first page. It's pretty lenghty, so you may read the opinions of other members there. As I told Neil when he made his topic, you must provoke discussion when making a thread, which is exactly what the questions at the end of his post did. :) I make this topic go closed!
20.
Originally posted by Sensei-San Crazy White Boy, apparently I like the idea of a 2x4 with a nail stuck in it. Unlike Resident Evil, where every weapon is gun or a knife, it creates a more horrific image, that the main character is using what ever he can find to his advantage. Which shows proof of Silent Hill 2 being a real survival horror. :)
I guess this is a matter of preference and nothing more, really, lol. The fact that a mere 2x4 with a protruding nail, can eliminate a monster just makes it hard for me to take them seriously. Have you ever played Clock Tower? If not, I'll explain what I like about it. Like Silent Hill, your character is completely ordinary, only more helpless. In order to slow down Scissor Man, you must utilize background objects. If anything, this feature would be a proper middle ground to our opinions, as the main character is using whatever they can to survive. While it would be nice to see a more unique variety of weapons, I don't think that a board is the best permanent item. :)
Although I respect all of your ideas, this happens to be one of the bad ones. There have been too many occasions where Resident Evil ends with a timer. This is exactly what is killing Capcom's sense for originality. By all means, the idea of the school is something new, but it could really do without some of the unnecessary "add-ons". :)
Well yeah, I was just throwing something out there. I came up with the timer because it would probably heighten the pace a bit. Keep in mind that you wouldn't be able to see this timer though. And being able to switch characters on the fly, a la RE0, would make my idea even more effective. Even without the timer, the goal of providing that idea was just to serve as an example of what Capcom can do to invoke more fear. Anyway, it's funny how James mentioned the an immense sense of confusion and unfamiliarity of the Silent Hill series, because that's exactly what was present in the first two Resident Evil games. Though such an atmosphere won't help if there are shotguns and flame throwers littering the environment.....
21. Well, I just found out that I'm on the Dean's list, so that's definitely a cool accomplishment. :) Other accomplishments of mine are graduation high school, winning that poetry contest and winning art awards. I guess the best accomplishment one can make is going down the right path, striving to be successful. That's what I'd like to achieve before it's all said and done. Plus, there's Project Gamer if that turns out well, although that's a pretty insignificant accomplishment, lol.
22. How many role-playing games have I played, in which a slime monster was one of the more common enemies? I've lost track, heh. Also, a platformer wouldn't be a platformer, unless the player had to suffer through a mine cart level, snow stage and desert. This repetition of ideas in the platforming genre has really hurt it as a whole. Shooting fireballs in two dimensional fighting games seems to be yet another reoccuring technique in that particular type of game. Especially during the says of 16 bit gaming. Lastly, rescuing a damsel in distress seems to span every genre of gaming...
23. Heh, once again it appears that Ryu and Nina will star in the newest Breath of Fire, lol. Ryu is a security officer in the underground city of Shelter, part of the elite police faction Ranger. As for Nina, she's quieter than Ryu, but sports some neat red wings on her back. That reminds me of Millenia from Grandia 2, lol. The visuals appear to be eyecatching. I've seen many complain over the presentation, marking it off as poor, but there's definitely some potential. My major gripe is that cel-shading is being implemented in yet another game. This style is quickly being overdone. Moving on to matters of more importance, the quality of the battle system will definitely factor into this game's success. From what I've read, combos will be special attacks requiring the use of AP. Different button combinations can be used to execute Combos, presumably for each character. I'm not looking forward to this game much though, as I've never been a fan of the series for some strange reason.
24. Well, it's good to hear that you're feeling better. Both of your parents need you right now. Breaking up a marriage with children will hurt them very much. The most important thing you can do now is just be their for them. Even if you don't like your father very much, he must be torn up on the inside.... Come to think of it, his marital problems may have been the reason for his behavior. Maybe you will be able to develop a better relationship with him now.
25. Well, I've been working my tail off on my rpg and I'm satisfied with how it's going so far. But, I say that you just turn off the Otaku Adventures forum for those little buggers that sign up and don't play.
