1. Lately Listening to: Spiritual Beggars, I love Michael Amotts Bluesy side. (although there are elements of that in Arch Enemy) The Absence Death Finntroll Those are pretty much the bands I've been looping lately, they all have different feels for my many mood changes while at work.
2. I moved on from Disgaea 3, love the game but it can get a bit repetitive... Now i'm playing Final Fantasy XIII, very pretty...I mean VERY pretty game, but wow can you say linear. I won't go into detail because i'm sure those interested have already read/heard that story many times. I'm still quite early on, but if anyone else has played this, what is your view on the GFs? (or eidolons) They seem pretty damn useless to me, I never use them... Maybe I'm just using them wrong or something but yeah I don't find them to be that helpful, the only reason I would summon them is to see the little cut scene that happens when you do. But that gets old fast too. Complain complain there I go again, its a decently compelling story, I do actually want to see whats going to happen. It just seems theres a bit too much whinyness going on. 8 is still my favourite, followed closely by 7. :D
3.
As much as it pains me to do this I am forced to add The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya to this list. Not the first season though, as that was pretty good. And not so much the second season either. Half of that was also good.
100% agreement here... I feel for the poor animators...
4. Busy playing Disgaea 3. Great fun, don't really like the change in learning skills. Have to use mana to upgrade your skills, not bad, just not used to it I guess. But fun overall, if Disgaea is your thing
5. Beat Crusaders - Japanese girl :D
6.
That's ironic, considering Azumanga is classified as a seinen (adult male) anime/manga.
Ah interesting, I had no idea. At first glance it doesn't seem to target that demographic, but then again I watched and enjoyed the hell out of so maybe they hit the nail on the head. I guess that raises another question though, why would a series about Highschool teen girls be so entertaining to an adult/male audience? I don't get an pervyness off this show, so that rules out the obvious. Meh well one can dissect but in the end it's just a very cool down to earth show. I recently finished the first season of Sengoku Basara. Story is a bit cold and lame for me, but the characters make up for that. It seems like they took a bunch of chars out of a fighting game and stuck em in a wishy washy story (If this is the case I wouldn't know, i don't research these things ^^) But some of the animation in there is very impressive.
7. Thanks dude, yeah it's great. Hard to find Anime types around my parts ( And I work in an animation studio X_x ) SO yeah nice to vent here.

8. Whazzup new guy? Welcome to the board and I hope you're liking it so far.

9. One word... Saikano... (She, the Ultimate Weapon) Sadness incarnate. I'm not going to go into specifics, all the deaths are sad, that's all I'm saying... WATCH IT AND CRY! (Manly tears if you're a guy of course)
10.
Right now I'm really into Slice of Life School Style anime. However, some of them get pretty scary... Here's what I'm watching right now. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - I'm on the third season now and what started off as a series about a teacher who only sees things in a negative light teaching a group of abnormal students has turned into more of a random comedy. (Although it was kind of always like that to begin with.) I still laugh at it, but sometimes it gets pretty creepy. Lucky Star - I wanted to watch this one for a while, but the first episode nearly killed it for me. I can only take girls talking about how to eat different food for so long. My friends and I like to talk about random stuff too, but I'm sure it's boring for people to watch us too. Lucky Channel and how it is related to the team behind the Melancholy of Haruhi (I think) is keeping me interested in this show. K-on! - I love music and bands and this ended up being a funnier show than I thought it would be. Almost anything involving the main characters together is usually hilarious. (Especially Yui and Mio.) I'm glad there's a second season. Azumanga Daioh - An older slice of life show but a good one. I thought this was going to be the most boring show a while back, but now that I'm watching it I was really wrong. It's way out there most of the times. Especially when Osaka or Kimura are involved.
Some are scary...some you only realize are truly messed up at the end....School Days.... I try not to talk about it, although it was kinda enjoyable with the creep out factor, but yeah. Man Azumanga Daioh is so damn cool, I've re-watched it a few times and love it every time. I'm not a girl but you don't really need to be to relate to the characters, its just fun and quirky (random) awesomeness. Sakaki is my favorite character, next to Osaka. There aren't many guys in my circle who admit to liking Azumanga, saying it's a girl's show, but screw em I don't care. Lucky Star was pretty cool, it's not a profound landmark in the slice of life genre, but yeah enjoyable. I've now moved onto watching Shippuden again, I've stowed away my rage and hate for it (which if I think about it now, was pretty damn retarded) and decided to play catch up. I stopped at like Episode 61 the last time I watched it, so yeah I've got quite a ton to get through. Naruto has some good points, as much as the people out there who love to hate it would care to admit (I was one for quite a while). As much as someone might hate Naruto, everyone wants to see its conclusion.
11. I'd have to say one of the worst anime I have ever seen okay there are a few, so I'll do a top 3. *Drumroll* ( My opinions may be hated but that's cool ) 3. Rizelmine ( Some argue this is funny...but to me... NO... Young kids mixed with blatant sexual innuendos. This was painstakingly designed for the Japanese pedo, and not for me so yeah.) 2. Madlax ( Bored the Cargo pants and dogtags right off me, man I wasted some serious lifetime on this, I'm sure some people liked this, and there are certainly worse ones I can't actually think of right now, but when I watched this I wept with boredom and the memory stood out. ) 1. Raimuiro Senkitan ( THIS IS BAD, DON'T WATCH THIS!!!!! Girl and Mech anime, many panty shots, lame ass writing and story, based on a hentai! Some people are going, "Wait... that doesn't sound so bad... Fate Stay Nite was based on a hent... BUT YOU ARE WRONG, DON'T WATCH THIS!! Seriously it's up to you, but you have been warned, life is precious, don't waste it... that is all ) Ah *breathes deeply* Okay so there are my 2 cents.
12.
Haha, that's a hilariously common story, I've found -- people generally seem to despise Futakoi and love Futakoi Alternative. I should give the latter a shot one of these days.
Hehe It really is way overused, I guess it will always be an anime staple (As long as there are lonely Japanese men who perv on figurines, which I don't see being in any short supply for the foreseeable future) some are good though....some are bad.... But yeah definitely give Futakoi Alt a try, awesome stuff :D
Vandread is one of my top-five favorite animes of all time. I think I posted as much somewhere on the board but it certainly deserves to be mentioned as underrated as well.
Ah Vandread, very vague memories about it right now, but I remember a few gem moments, funny series. I must have watched that yonks ago during High school *feels old* I think I feel a re-watch coming on
13. At the moment I'm busy watching K-On!! I'm just a sucker for anime with bands/music involved x_X (Beck being one of my favorites) Also busy reading Vagabond....too badass for words, I love me some samurai in the morning.
14. I'm not sure about "under-rated" but Futakoi Alternative is one of my favourite more obscure anime!! ^^ Kinda got that random FLCL vibe going which I love. As opposed to the standard Futakoi which I'm not such a huge fan of, sort of a harem anime but with twins (not much of a selling point if you ask me v_v) There's also some badass animation in Alternative (my animators eyes never turn off x_x)
