1. When did knives come into play? I guess I never knew that they made "squirt knives." If it were me, I'd do something sneeky like find out what routes the target takes that requires he/she to use an elevator. Then I'd climb on top of said elevator via the maintenance hatch and lie (lay?) in wait for my target. When they finally used the elevator, BAM! I'd fling open the hatch and soak 'em dead. My friends and I play a more primative version of this game at our school. We each try to assassinate each other before the day's up, except our assassinations only involve us using our thumbs as invisible shivs and then using them to shank the other person in a vital area. The game restarts everyday. Oh, and Farto the Magic, sorry about ruining your grand scheme.
2. I saw this on an episode of Law and Order once. My advice to you: Don't kill anyone.
3. Wow. You all were so much sexier in my mind. I guess that's what's to be expected from an anime forum. ahBURN!
4.
Okay everyone please don't point and laugh.
Oh, not only am I pointing, but I'm also laughing. My recent "CD" purchase would have to be an un-opened 12" copy of Critical Beatdown by The Ultramagnetic MC's (12" means vinyl, kiddos). In my opinion, Critical Beatdown is the single best hip hop album of all time. It truly is. I'm still waiting to recieve it, though, seeing as how I bought it off of eBay. Good ol' eBay.
5. Mr. Maul

Help me out.

If she liked the original version of "Such Great Heights," I would suggest getting your hands on a copy of the John Tejada Remix of it. It'll be something different, and yet familliar for her. Also, "Ever and a Day" and "Morning Star" off of AFI's Art of Drowning album are a must. Not necessarily emo, but they get the job done. Anything by Regina Spektor is good, too.
6. I absolutely cannot believe that no one has even mentioned Milla Jovovich. Ever since I saw The Fifth Element, I've been in "love" with her. Her phenomenal beauty aside, Milla is an excellent actress, a great model, and, although I have never actually heard her, I can imagine that she is an amazing singer. Doesn't she look incredibly sexy with orange hair? To quote a friend of mine (a girl), "I'm straight and I'd still **** her!"
7. Damn Sara and her damn signature. I lost. Damn.
8. Thank you very much, Blayze. Much appreciated. And when I said, "I sooo totally call dibs on this one," I meant that I really wanted to do this one, not that I was going to be the only one to do it.
9. Did you want the quotation marks on "I'm acting like a professional!" to actually be in the banner? It's a crucial decision. ---EDIT--- I just went ahead and made two versions of the banner. Just choose whichever.
10. I sooo totally call dibs on this one. I'll be back in a wee bit...
11. You're right about Paul's Boutique, Shinmaru, and "Fair Use," in my opinion, is extremely tricky.
People getting mad over unauthorized sampling of their music is preposterous, and unless the music is directly ridiculing the sample, as happens sometimes, then there's no way in hell that it could possibly hurt their career.
If anything, it strengthens their career. Sampling their work exsposes their music to a whole new audience of different genres. Audiences that wouldn't ordinarily hear their work.
Sampling movie quotes usually does two things in music. 1. Adds a boost to whatever message your song is trying to convey through a relative sample. 2. Puts out a favorite movie of the band as a recommendation. Personally, I make it a point to track down and watch every movie KWD samples from, most are pretty cool.
It doesn't even have to be movie lines. Sampling anything usually boosts the message, if not adds to the "atmosphere" of the song. And similar to recommending movies with quotes, artists who sample other songs give you a deeper insight into their own musical preferences. Artists usually sample from songs that they themselves enjoy listening to. Box Hoy, many, many artists sample these days. You just have to do a little research. You'd be surprised by some of the musicians who use samples. It's very interesting. The Prodigy (see signature) would not exist if it weren't for sampling. Liam Howlett (frontman of The Prodigy) uses so many obscure samples so creatively. It's amazing. I've spent the past couple of years researching pretty much every single song he's done, finding out samples, locating his sample sources, and trying to recreate his samples myself. He truly is a prodigy.
12.
I don't drink soda often. If I go out to eat, I'll get myself one, but other than that I stick to water and milk, or sometimes juice. When I'm at the cafeteria at school, I'll sometimes spike my juice with some soda. (Orange juice with a shot of Sprite is tingly and delicious.) As far as sodas go, my favorite has got to be Squirt. You can taste the grapefruit! It is delicious. YUM.
How could I forget Squirt? Or juice?? I'd much rather have juice any day than pop. Next to Fufu Berry, Squirt is my second fave (You really can taste the grapefruit :P). I've never heard of anyone else mixing Sprite/lemon-lime drink with orange juice. I do it because it tastes like Orangina. Mmm...
13.
Too bad he dropped the ball by mentioning Andy Capp's Hot Fries.
I never was that grand at sports. And it just so happens that I am enjoying a bag of Andy Capp's delicious Hot Fries at this very moment. Also, after reading your post, and looking at the bag, I learned that Capp is spelled with two p's. Neat stuff.
14. For those of you who don't know what sampling is, here's what Wikipedia had to say about it:
In music, sampling is the act of taking a portion of one sound recording, the sample[/b'], and reusing it as an instrument or element of a new recording...
A prime example of this would be "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugarhill Gang, in which they sampled the main riffs from Chic's "Good Times." (Click on the song titles for a brief sound clip) Sampling can be perfectly legal if the one doing the sampling clears their samples (clearing a sample is the act of getting permission from the original artist of the sample to use the sample. Clearing is done in order to avoid any copyright infringements and lawsuits which might occur), however a lot of artists who do sample never bother to clear any of their samples. Now, my questions that I pose to you: Do you believe that sampling is wrong? Why or why not? Is wrong to use a sample that hasn't been cleared? Does sampling hurt the sampled artists/the music industry? What are your opinions on sampling in general? Personally, I believe that sampling is perfectly okay, due to the fact that I produce my own music on my computer and other equipment. Therefore, sampling is my livelihood. I believe that if at all possible, one must clear all of his or her samples before releasing them on an album. However, for small time artists like myself who aren't making money off of their samples, not clearing them is a-ok. Also, if the sample is obscure enough, I don't think it is necessary to clear it. Sampling isn't hurting the music industry, the music industry is hurting the music industry.
15. Moxie is a love/hate soft drink. Actually, it's kind of like beer. Horribly disgusting at first, but after a while, it just glides right down (not that I drink beer). But overall, it's disgusting. Fufu Berry Jones Soda, however is the best tasting beverage ever invented. Amazing. It goes great with Andy Capp's Hot Fries. Any Jones Soda is great, but Fufu Berry takes the cake and stuffs it in its pants.
And am I the only one who enjoys cold water more than soda?
Ice water is fan-freakin-tastic. You've got to drink water after a pop to clense your palate. Or at least I do. If I don't, the lingering sodie water taste makes me want another one. So kudos for water. And lastly, whatever happened to Pepsi Blue? Now that was a quality beverage. There aren't enough blue drinks in the world.
16. Called it. Be back in a while... - - Edit - - One while later... Clicky
17. According to how you have your poll set up, one could come to the conclusion that you believe that Mormons (it's spelled with an "o" not an "a") and Catholics are not Christians. Interesting...
18.
Ah, but then there's the competition. You'll have to outdrum myself if you want in on this band. So I'd also be interested in drums, as I already play in 2 bands with drums (one of which has had about a 300 person audience). EDIT: And I have an acoustic drumset and an electric drumset for easy recording.
Hmm... I don't have to be drummer. However, I am a very well-rounded musician all together, especially in the field of sound engineering, mixing, and mastering. I also play/write piano or synth pieces, play guitar/bass, and I can also belt out some good punkish/rockish/hip hop vocals. As I said, I'm a one man band.
19. Hmm... I see you're employing the ol' Postal Service method of writing songs. Well, not to brag or anything (seeing as how that'd only increase my ego), but I've been known to make some pretty amazing beats. Doesn't matter what genre. I'm up for it. So I call shotgun on drummer.
20.
A woman that's able to hold a conversation, mature enough to handle criticism, honest enough to tell you the truth without hours of pointless fluff to pacify her guilt. A woman that's caring, kind and considerate--one that's selfless enough to sacrifice time she could spend with you so that you may work towards goals that will supplement your blooming relationship. A woman that's intelligent enough to realize the difference between love, lust, friendship and wishful thinking. A woman that's not such a coward that she has to resort to the crutch of friendship when rejecting someone. A woman that's not afraid to confront her insecurities and weaknesses. A woman that won't stab you in the back and manipulate your emotions with guilt trips, withdrawal, and endless sulking. A woman that's patient and empathetic enough to help you develop the tools necessary to harbor a long-lasting relationship. A woman that's not so petty as to let a good thing slip through her fingers in favor of shallow, selfish, sexual gratification.
I think that pretty much sums it up.
21. Ah yes, The Game. I've been playing it for about a year now. At my school, participants in The Game are very ruthless in their competition. I've seen posters printed up and taped around the school at eye-level which read, "I Lost" in big, bold letters. However, the most ingenius scheme would have to have been during school elections. The candidates read their speeches over the PA for the entire student body to hear. Well, a friend of mine read his speech, and at the very end said, "Oh yeah, I lost." I could hear people yelling all over the school.
Me and my friends still play that game from Malcolm In The Middle where you make a O below waist-height lol
Umm, that game has been around waaay longer than Malcom In The Middle has. And, I guess I lost. Again.

24. Haha! You spelled "as" wrong and it got censored! Maybe you should ellaborate more on what you mean by "girlfriend related stuff." Is this going to be an advice thread helping those with girlfriends, or is it a chance for the girlfriend to share her troubles? But if I'm not mistaken, there's already a relationship thread...
25. Seeing as how I hate people (in general), this really isn't a problem for me. But when it does finally come around to breaking the ice, I have a retarded joke that never seems to fail. What happened when the polar bear stepped out onto the frozen lake? It broke the ice. Hi, my name's ________.
