Michael Crichton pointed out something very interesting in oneof his noevls. His characters were talking about science, and the mathematican said something along the lines of how in the future, people were going to laugh at us for believing in protons and electrons and stuff, just like we laughed at the people 50 years before us for believing what they did in science at the time. So with religion as a mythology goes science as a mythology.

Name: Rodanda Shi'ku Age: 19 Biography: Shadowy past--at least, she isn't talking. Many believe the Emperor was responsible for the death of her family and her fiancé, largely because she was one of his few respected female fighters until the destruction of her home town, at which point she had disappeared. She carries a personal vendetta, and can be stubborn and refuse help when angry--which is often. Apperence: "Beatiful as she is deadly." Ebony hair that reaches to her ankles, pulled back in a ponytail. Emerald eyes. A special type of armor that is strong as steel, but has the apperance of a fine, white silk tunic (the product of her home town). Brown boots that reach to her knees (a dagger hidden in one); silver "shackles" on her arms. Silver chain link belt about her waste. A silver choker with a sapphire containing a ruby within it--said to be the engagement present from her fiancé. Weapon: Longbow, Dagger Special Move: Silver Gryphon: shooting an arrow into the sky calls a energy ball in the form of a grphon to come down and blast the opponent (fire for day, ice for night)

I remember my bro and I working to get that thing! (Heck, I remember when peeps said that the Hylian Loach was a rumor, no such thing as a Sinking Lure, blah blah blah.) Took about 20 minutes to reel that sucker in (after who knows HOW many tries-we emptied the pond out, practically (that is what it seemed like, anyway). Then we get to the owner, proudly showing off the loach and he says to put it back! :o Ugh. It's nice to see someone using one of my avatars that I made, but attaching an image to a post just so you can put it in your signature is against the rules. You can, however, just link directly to the image on my site. Here's the URL for the image on my site: http://thedarkworld.t35.com/Zelda/Misc_Zelda_Stuff/Avatars/ZOOA-S-Nayru2.gif - jcgoudy

-stretching here to make my theory fit, although it is, after all, just a theory-I'm not trying to cause problems- Perhaps the mother was unable to rescue Zelda at the same time she ran off with Link during the war (the fact that she was gravely wounded meant she didn't have much time to do what was needed to be done). If she had a choice between which one to save, it would have to be Link. Thus runs my theory, anyhow.

-Looks mystified- :therock: This was meant to be an RPG...

I simply LOVE what BabyGirl started (Thread: A little help for the plot impaired), so I would like to make a completely different story, if no one minds terribly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The youth huddled in the dank darkness. A shaft of moonlight strived to reach into the inky black, but was blocked by iron bars and thick cobwebs. His emerald eyes roved over the small confine of the prison cell. Three steps forward the unpassable iron door. Beneath him, the stone floor, with a clump of musty hay. To one side, a tin bowl of brackish water. Just above that, a large iron ring, two thick chains running from the wall to the shackles about his wrists. Balling his fists, he desperately trying to break the chains, without any effect. The chains rattled in contempt as he he threw his hands down, and sagged on the old hay. Thud! Thud! The sound pounded against the iron door. "Shaddup in there, ya freak!" His long tail thrashed in the hay, kicking up dust motes. With a soft snarl, he brushed his white hair back, swearing under his breath at his stupidity. Why couldn't I have listened? He pulled at his chains again, screaming as the feelings of the hopelessness of it all resurged. Why do they ignore the impending doom the planet faces? The guard banged against the door again, but the prisoner ignored it. Irritated by the interruption of his sleep (the belly dancer had been so close!), the guard threw the door open and slapped his whip against the youth's body. Several minutes later, the guard, heaving hard, walked out and slammed the door shut. The youth, his spirit broken for the moment, lay on hands and knees, his skin laced with red ribbons of blood, his already ragged clothes torn even more. Beads of sweat, mingled with his blood, rolled down his face and marked the floor with a dismal puddle. A shudder ran through his frame, and with a quiet sob, the tears appeared in his eyes. He cradled his head in his arms, weeping in the hay. Why did they take her?

Writing The Part Left Untold (some mature content)

:wow: Om gosh, Jenna, I am in awe. Seriously, keep it up! -
There's a misconception here about OoT. The Deku Tree had said that a mother and her baby boy had left Hyrule during a tremendous war. The mother was mortally wounded, and left the boy in the forest. Nothing was said of the dad. Notice Zelda only has a dad with her. Only Link was taken away because he was to be the next King and he could not afford to be killed. Also, the song of the Royal Family. Only members of the Royal Family and their "inner circle" can learn it. Link does, therefore he is royalty...or part of the "inner circle". I prefer the first. Finally, the adopted name "Link". As in a link to something or other...such as the royal family, Zelda, the Triforce, etc.
