Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]
Mitch replied to Heaven's Cloud's topic in Creative Works
Well, I decided to post a poem here for once...see how it goes...I know this is a rather long poem, but I think I did a good job... FoChanor I felt my feet touch the floor as I stepped into a stop between the door long I stood examining a room of short space a room so very small that upon the tip of my tongue I could taste the unroominess and inside that room was but a tiny chair it was a worn excuse of a chair but a chair it was and as my eyes flew away from that chair I began to see the room as a whole the floor was a dirty dirt of soot that was a black of blacks the walls were a crackled masterpiece of ancient tatter and as I stood unwillingly peering about my legs slowly began walking a sly walk of curiosity thirsting the dirt flung up in a dust flight as my feet touched the floor and as I neared that ancient chair a crash I heard behind quickly then I turned around finding that door to be closed alas the room was still in light for at the far edge of the room stood a flimsy light a lamp creating a mellow, restricted light and as I regained my moments lapse as I turned around I said: "Just the wind." I restarted my slow walk of thirst nearing upon the worn chair slowly I sat into the seat making nervous glances about the room and in that sudden instant the room expanded into a huge labyrinth quizzically I glanced around surprise upon my face in a bland splendor standing up I perceived a darkly lit hall and walked into that ghostly entrance peering about in a mysterious delight I padded about in my curious flight and whence I came to the end of the hall I came to yet another doorway standing between the door I did peer into another room once more and this one did seem the same as the last small and enclosed with yet another chair within the center and as I glanced upon that chair I saw that it was no longer a worn out chair but it looked of a newly furnished chair and thus I began a hypnotic walk as again the door behind me shut in a loud clang but still did I walk drawn unto that chair like a strongly placed magnet thus I sat into that welcoming chair and as suddenly as I there sat the room yet did change whence again and as everything rippled about in a watery puddle suddenly I was no longer in a room but I was upon a very high hill a hill so high that as I peered down all I saw was a great slope of meandering green yet still I sat upon that comfy chair for many a time not wanting to leave the wonderful security which it brought but as it became dark a coldness began to surround me an evil air of scattery stare and that chair no longer seemed secure so I gathered my wit and sat up in no longer a sit slowly I scaled that unending hill torture it was for my whole body to ill but still through I made it by some way of chance and as I neared the end dawn reared his starting glance sweating abound, I stopped for a quick stance and viewed that beautiful fireball there sparkling within the heavenly blue sky thus I ended my long ill trodden journey and as I stoop upon leveled ground I turned toward that hope holding light and spoke: "I hath made my journey." and thus I turned around and set my feet upon the so hard ground as I stepped into a stop between another door -
Thanks alot, I'll try that. Hopefully I'll beat him eventually anyways...
Originally posted by Mnemolth Hi there clowmet, glad to see someone giving this a chance. ;) Your question was rather vague, but I'll give it a try. Ok, I don't know how much you know, so I'm just gonna assume you know as little as possible ok? Please don't be offended. Its easier for me to explain everything in one go this way. To find the number of smaller triangles that can fit into a bigger one you need to find the AREA of BOTH triangles and DIVIDE the AREA of the big triangle by the area of the small triangle. I'll explain. 1. First step is to find the area of the triangle. How to do that? Well that depends on what kind of triangle it is. This is where I would have liked you to have more details in your question. As it is I don't know what TYPE of trinagles were are talking about, and whether the smaller triangle is the same TYPE as the bigger triangle, or whether they are both of different types. Sorry about the sucky format, I dunno how to draw diagrams on posts (if that's possible at all). Anyways, the sides of a Triangle are A ro B, B to C and C to A In the above figures a) is an equilateral triangle, that is ALL its sides are equal. AB=BC=AC In the above figures b) is an isoceles triangle, that is TWO of its sides are equal. AB=AC In the above figures c) is a right-angle triangle, that is TWO of its joint at a right-angle (90 degrees angle). This kind of triangle can also be an isoceles triangle. In the above figures d) NONE of the sides are equal and there is NO right-angle. The basic formula for calculating the AREA of a TRIANGLE is: 1/2 b x h, where b is the 'base side' and h ='height' Working with the above diagrams, a) and b), BC = 'base side' and AD is the 'height' So Area of Triangle for a) and b) are: 1/2 x BC x AD For c) all you need to do is: 1/2 x BC x AC. IMPORTANT: It is the sides of the two ADJACENT(means next to each other) sides to the RIGHT-ANGLE that is multiplied. In this case it would be 1/2 x 5 x 10 = 25 For d) its a little more complicated. You need to find the SUM of TWO triangles. Triangle ABD and Triangle BCD. So area is (1/2 x BD x AD) + (1/2 x BD x DC) 2. Once you have the area of the BOTH triangles, let's say X is Area of smaller triangle and Y is area of big one, then Number of small triangles that fit into bigger one is: Y / X, or to put it another way Y divided X This should give you a number and maybe some fractions. ROUND downwards for your answer! Sounds complicated? It isn't, its just explaining it via the Internet that makes it seem complicated. In person I can probably explain to you in less than 5 mins! ;) Cheers
I knew you would now, Mnemolth, I was kinda right, right? Heh, well, I tried to help, but I suck at math. Well, at least he answered the question...:cross: This really is a good idea....

What exactly is the purpose of this thread...I mean you could've PMed Sephiroth and asked him yourself...but, since you were gone for awhile, I guess it has some signifigance, but still...

Hmm... I was about to write some more, but to a third party they would not make any sense at all. You are welcome in advance for my sparing you of confusion... :D --Mike
"Confusion is a spiralling wave of unmentionable curves." I just made that up...I'm good at making up quotes :p
Originally posted by Char!  But hey, isn't it like 16 1/2 that you can get a lisence, and not just 16? --Mike
It's different in every state, I think. It's 16 here in wonderful Bismarck, ND. I don't know about elsewhere. And also you can take Behind The Wheel here to get it earlier than 16.

Then you just times the length of the first side of the triangle by 3 since the sides on a triangle are all equal...I think, but don't take my word for it because I suck at math.

My views on the Iraq situation? I think Bush is being very stupid. Doesn't he understand we Americans don't want another war? Anyways, if we kill Sodam Insane (his magical nickname) it won't do anything, another bad leader will come eventually. So I think it is a waste of time, lives, and breath to start another war with Iraq. I'm against any war, because war to me is very stupid. I mean we humans aren't barbarians, so why do we have to kill ourselves for nothing?

Of course I'm going to go to this movie! I've been waiting for a movie as entertaining as Signs to come...maybe this will? Plus, I loved Jackie Chan in the Rush Hour movies. It's coming out this Friday isn't it?

Snake, you've got talent. It's wonderfully made again...I like how very, very simple it is yet how it still looks complex all at once. I also like, as Aries did, the transparent effect. I also look forward to see more of your work :)...
Originally posted by SSJGoten I dont not care. I spell the way I want to spell all right? Its not like im proving myself to be a mod or anything, got it? I spell the way that I want to spell, not the way some idiotic kid tells me too. So don't tell me again.
Yeah, Goten, they were just helping you. It was only a grammatical error, everyone makes them so don't get all defensive. Just remember that they're is like saying they are only shortened, same thing with don't do not, and I'm I am...see?

Art Not really as good as the point it puts across...
Mitch replied to Transtic Nerve's topic in Creative Works
I don't like it very much, TN. It needs more flare, needs to be more bold, the colors for it are also pretty bland in my opinion. The idea of it is cool, though. Maybe if you change it some more then the whole thing would be cool? Also, those red lines, like everyone is saying, just don't look right there. Change those to if you are thinking of redoing it. -
Well, It's a good idea, but I doubt it will happen. Anyways, I think a persons opinion deserves to be uncensored. Because, if you aren't explicit, then your point won't go across to some people...

Happay Birthday. Hope your day was or is grand, in all aspects of it. Merry Chirstmas, and don't you forget the Turkey an' Stuffin' ethar...;)

Mnemolth, this is wonderful idea. To bad no one's biting as Char! said earlier. Well, I'll list my areas of expertise to I suppose. I'm really good at writing, and ok at English. I know many works of literature and so on. I'm also ok at science, I mostly like Biology, but I know a few other forms of science than that. That's about all...I mean I'm only 15, so yeh...

As Sigma walked away, Megaman briskly approached him. Sigma stopped walking, and turned toward him, that same evil snarl across his face. Megaman X: Who is this Dr. Robotnik? Is he working with Dr. Wily?? Sigma simply laughed at Megaman, and turned, slowly walking away again. As he walked, he spoke in a booming voice: Sigma: Of course...of course they are working together...of course. And Megaman, if I were you--I would stay away. Stay very far away and mind my own business. You are powerless to defeat us. Powerless. This time there is no stopping us. No stopping us. With that, Sigma was gone in a trail of smoke. Megaman stood by the ruined reactor, a questionable look upon his face. He then slowly walked away from the ruined reactor, and returned to the slums. Once there, he walked about, thinking to himself what could be going on, thinking--who is this Dr. Robotnik--thinking, thinking, thinking. And as he walked about, a shop display window with a T.V. displayed caught his eye. Newsman: ...Midgar Reactor No. 4 was sabotaged today in other news today. Five people were killed, and several injured in the explosion. When questioned who had commited the crime, officials said it was Megaman X. Officals have released a 100 Million Gil reward for his capture. Now for the weather, Don how does it look? Megaman looked away from the T.V. and walked away. Framed, he had been framed. Framed. He needed to leave Midgar, but where would he go next?

Well, I thought up another one that I think I'm going to add to my sig. I made this one up meself... "If pessimistic you must be, let that be pessimistic optimism."

Megaman X ran swiftly through the Midgar slums as rain pelted his blue, metallic face. There had been a large crash coming from somewhere, and as he ran, another loud crash issued forth ringing in his ears. He now saw the cause of the great crash, one of the reactors had been sabatoged. It stood a burning stump, fire issuing forth from it in a grand splendor. Megaman swiftly approached the destroyed reactor, glancing about for any survivors. And as he glanced about, he spied a lone figure standing directly infront of the ruins. It was a tall, shadowy, form, and as Megaman X approached it, the figure turned, an evil smile painted across its face, grimacing down at him in a snarl. The figure beemed down at him, its eyes a red crimsom of upmost hate. Megaman quickly came to a stop, staring at the figure, as its mouth slowly opened. Robot: Ah, Megaman X. What a nice time to meet you. What a nice time indeed. Megaman X: Who are you? Megaman X said, pointing his X-Buster at the dark figure in a defensive motion. Robot: Don't you recognize me my old friend? Well, I did get a few upgrades--but you should recognize me. Megaman glanced closer at the figure, and realiziation came upon his face. Megaman X: It...it...can't be. Sigma? But how... Sigma merely gave Megaman a cold stare, and let out a loud, booming laugh of pure evil. Sigma: How you ask, eh? Well, to tell the truth, I am but a replica. An upgraded replica that is...but a replica all the same. Created by that great mastermind himself, Dr. Robotnik. As you see, I am a much improved version of my latter creation. Sigma lets out another loud, booming laugh, and looks at Megaman as if he is but a small mouse in his way. Then turns and begins walking away in a slow walk.
