1. Ah yes, Battle Angel Alita. That's probably one of my favourite anime movies. ^.^ Very sad ending...
2. If you are clever and logical, you can predict almost anything. Really, most mind reading and other forms of paranormal activity are nothing but "magic". No different from seeing someone being cut in half on a stage. It can look very real...it can feel very real. But it's not necessarily real. I'm sure others will disagree. But there are many ironies and contradictions when it comes to predictions -- funny how people never predict anything particularly useful. But what can I say, it doesn't surprise me in the least.
3. I'm sorry, but I've had to ban Solidus_6. Despite repeated warnings not to double post (in this very thread), he's continued. His post quality is also absolutely shocking. That is a clear reminder to everyone that the rules must be read.
4. I think it's quite new in Japan. It was released only a short time ago, I believe. The official Japanese site looks incredibly cool, but unfortunately I can't remember its URL. :bawl:
5. o_O;;;; Yes, I understand that. lol
6. Proteus carefully landed on the nearest rooftop in the city. He briefly surveyed the area; to the west, he saw a large beach and resort. The rest of his immediate area seemed to be some kind of small city. And toward the east, he saw large foreboding mountains with arms of fog enveloping them. Suddenly, a door on the rooftop opened. Several men in uniform approached Proteus, machine guns at the ready. Guard 1: Who the hell are you?! Guard 2: Hurry up! Show us some I.D.! Proteus looked around and backed away slowly. He had no idea what to do. He felt weak and confused...not himself. Proteus: I...I'm not going to hurt you...I just need somewhere to rest... Guard 1: Somewhere to rest huh? We don't take kindly to reploids in these parts. You best get back to where you came from. Proteus grunted and tried to activate his anti-gravity platforms...but they didn't respond. He had spent too much energy on the flight...on landing...it was all too much. Right now he couldn't even check his own power levels. Something was seriously wrong. Proteus backed away further, toward the edge of the rooftop. Guard 2: Heh...there's nowhere to run, reploid. You're surrounded. Give yourself up! Proteus' vision began to blur. All he could hear were voices on all sides, telling him to give up. He wanted to scream out loud and make them go away. Guard 3: Right, that's it. Aim, men! The group of guards aimed their machine guns squarely on Proteus. His titanium armor was littered with shining red dots -- most centered squarely over his chest. Proteus looked at the nearest guard. He had tears in his eyes; he was so confused. He felt like a newborn baby... As the rooftop exploded in flashes of light and sound, Proteus reached out to the nearest guard. He reached out helplessly, an expression of intense pain burned onto his face. But nobody could hear him. His cries were drowned out by the roaring of heavy gunfire. Proteus closed his eyes and stumbled backwards as mechfluid poured from the deep gashes in his armor. He held one hand over his chest, paused for one very brief moment as if to reassure himself, and then he fell backwards from the rooftop. He fell through the air, columns of clear-blue mechfluid streaming from his body. And with a final thud, his body landed in the alleyway behind the building. He lay there, amongst the building's garbage. His eyes closed, his hand over his heart. He lay there. And he did not wake.
7. Probably not. We would need to hire someone (and actually pay them) to engineer a system like that. It's something that big companies do; I don't think you can fully appreciate the sheer complexity of what you're asking for. What you're asking for would be the most massive modification for a vB ever. If bigger sites have not yet created such a system, then it's unlikely that we will, as nice as the idea sounds in theory.
8. Well, of course it's a good idea. So is me owning a Ferrari. But both are equally impossible at the moment. ^.^;;
9. Okay, a few points here. 1) The software you are asking for does not exist. It's impossible to install anything like this on a Virtual Bulletin. What you're asking for is a completely custom program. Considering that I have enough difficulty getting basic hacks installed on OB, any more intensive software is simply out of the question at the current time. 2) You are spamming on so many levels. lol Please do not double/triple/quadruple post! Read our rules. ^.^ Oh...and you could do something about that post quality whilst you're at it.
10. Yes, I believe it's a region 0 DVD. I have a universal player though, so region isn't so important. But if I want to watch a DVD in my bedroom, I have to use my PS2...and so, that can only play my region (I think it's region 5 or something). As for the fan base, I think you're right. I've never been a fan of Dragonball because I've always thought of it as very cliche and thin. But having seen just a little of EVA (and having talked to many EVA fans), I really think that .hack//SIGN could potentially be a hit amongst that group. The potential complexity of characters and the whole "tech/fantasy" feel seems like a good cross over.
11. Even so, there are really no proper Administrative controls over our chatroom. To the best of my knowledge, Adam doesn't directly choose the ops these days (though I could be wrong about that). If the chat system was more adequately controlled, I'd probably support it more. Of course, there are benefits to it...but it's far from ideal in its current form. If we could integrate it with the boards, that would be a perfect solution.
12. Well, if you can set up that kind of custom software or you know someone who can, tell them to PM me. ~.^ In all reality, what you're asking for is pretty much impossible. We aren't Microsoft; we can't set up our own messanger or custom chat room just like that. The best thing you can do is use theOtaku.com's chatroom. It's not ideal, but it's the best solution we have at the current time.
13. Wow, that's interesting. I didn't know that about Sailor Moon (though I haven't really ever watched it, outside of a five minute glance). I find the filler aspect annoying in almost any series. You know...those episodes that are there just for the sake of existing.
14. Hm, this sounds like a fantastic idea. Only thing is, I have to work out where to get these animes from! I'm just wondering if there is anywhere nearby that rents out a lot of anime. My local video store has quite a few anime titles, but probably not enough for something like this. -.-;;
15. You're right. Sometimes you don't want to ease into a series and have it take forever for something to happen. Also, 26 episodes is a whole lot easier for theOtaku.com to cover. lol But yeah, I definitely see your point. I think 26 episodes is probably better than 260. :drunk:
16. A couple of points to remember: 1) X, Y and Z can be used for secondary items, as an alternative to the C Stick. 2) I don't think the framerate is higher, but rather, the slowdown from the original has been rectified. That seems more logical to me.
17. Oh, that's kind of sad. Only 26 episodes for an entire series. :bawl:
18. I haven't seen an anime series in so long. It makes me wonder; in 26-episide animes...generally, are the episodes all half an hour or an hour? Or do their times vary? That must sound incredibly ignorant, so please excuse me. :blush:
19. Well, hopefully I'll be getting the anime on Monday (one day to go..woo!). Once I do, I might post here and tell you some more about it. Hopefully it works in my DVD player... -.-;;
20. Well, I can only repeat what I've said all along. Were I able to do it, I'd give you a strikethrough option right now. But I can't. I have to rely on Shift to get the job done; and about half of our "to do" list is still incomplete. The wait continues. ^.^;;

Your Typical RPG..

I usually find myself starting fantasy RPGs. I think most of mine have been fantasy/tech combined. *sighs* This is one occasion where I miss the old days though. I haven't been in a really compelling, well-though-out RPG for quite some time. Having said that, Maverick Hunters: Personification is great. I always like the MH RPGs because the characters already have these wonderful backgrounds...and there are always new possibilities to explore. I wish my Zelda RPG hadn't died.

Hi there!

Karico, I'm sorry but we don't allow Intro threads here at OB. Our new rules are not yet up though, so it's understandable that you'd make this thread. Anyway, welcome to the boards. I hope you enjoy your stay. ^.^
23. That's great to hear! Despite some negative comments here and there, those who have seen the Japanese version generally seem to swear by it. And that's very exciting for gamers outside Japan! Oh and welcome to the forums Mr. Roboto. That was a great first post. ^.^
24. Well, one day we might have Evangelion at OtakuBoards, if the demand is there. Remember, you can always use the Suggestions/Feedback forum for it. In fact, you could even create an online petition and email it to me. If the demand is there, we'll certainly consider it. It's the least that we can do, given that Evangelion isn't on the cards for theOtaku.com right now.
25. Proteus sailed through the clouds on his titanium wings. His eyes were closed. Various internal systems (including GPS) had been damaged beyond repair. It was impossible for him to know where he was -- let alone even consider returning home. He didn't know what to think or feel. Right now he was overcome with indifference toward everything. He just sailed through the air for hours, his eyes closed shut. He didn't care where he landed. He almost hoped in the back of his mind that if he kept sailing upwards, he'd crash into the hot sun. But nothing happened. The clouds below slowly cleared and just beyond their outstretched plumes, Proteus saw an expansive island. It looked like some sort of resort, but Proteus didn't have the energy to zoom in and learn more. He decided to land. There was no reason to continue and if anything, he might just be able to find a way of communicating with Hunter HQ from the area. Proteus once again reached into his cellular modification program and as he did so, his sharp wings receeded into his back. His limbs fully regenerated and he began to fall sharply. He spun himself around in the air, so that his feet were facing the ground. And he quickly activated the anti-gravity soles of his titanium feet. They glowed a soft blue, as Proteus gently descended from the sky toward the mysterious island. As he came closer, he noticed that one side of the island contained what definitely looked like a resort town. The other side, however, was dark and foreboding. He didn't like the look of it at all...
