I'm kinda like Semjaza on this one. People who talk to me all the time on AIM...I mean, usually our site's staff and a few members...they kinda get to know me. They know me when I'm not doing my job and we just talk casually. So I think their impression is generally positive. But on the boards, I'm doing my job...and I think sometimes people take that as my personality, when infact, I'm just enforcing our rules as they are. So I don't know...I can certainly name people who dislike me (kuja)...but I think that their reasons for disliking me are petty and shallow. lol They don't really know me...they only dislike me because they got on the wrong side of the authority, so to speak. So yeah, I don't know. I hear so many things...sometimes I hear "everyone hates you and you're a bastard and we wish you weren't admin" and then I'll hear "Most people respect you and are okay with you". So, I really don't know. And many people are nice without telling the truth. So...it's really hard to know, I think. Anyway, that's my ramble on the subject. lol

Samgee, I have repeatedly warned you about your signature. You used to have two images...which you finally removed. Now you have an image that is much too high. 100 pixels is the maximum height. If you don't change your signature, you will be banned immediately.

Of course this is a question of maturity. Kids by nature are usually immature. So of course...they'll laugh at violence and stuff. That's why Jackass does so well. It relies on immaturity. But when you become more mature...your view on these things just naturally changes. So, yeah...my message would be that you shouldn't worry about it. They'll grow out of it hopefully.

Three words; Read. The. Rules. Last warning.

I don't care about "selling out" as such. If a band wants to slap their label on a T-shirt and make more cash...good on 'em. What I don't like is hypocracy. Take Eminem for instance. Just about all of his video clips and such have knocked people like Britney Spears and various boy-bands as being a commercial tool and nothing more. And guess what...now Eminem is making a movie! o_O I don't care for his music regardless, but Eminem's whole "rebel against the mainstream" mentality rubs me up the wrong way...because he himself has demonstrated that he's quite the commercial marketing tool. So, once again, that on its own doesn't bother me. I don't care if people want to do that. But please...don't claim to be holier-than-thou and fight for something you believe in, when clearly, you're only turning around and doing the very thing you claim to hate.

I wouldn't. The world is already over-populated and mandkind is finding it difficult to sustain our development. That said, it's never going to happen anyway...so any answer I give is totally pointless. lol

On this board, Category Moderators (Super Moderators) can ban as well as Administrators. As for IPs...yes, sometimes people have different IPs. But we either continuously ban the IP (they end up giving up...no point coming here if you are banned within minutes each time)...or we ban a partial IP, thus eliminating any chance they have of reregistering. Sometimes that may block other members (mainly, potential members)...but I'm not too worried about that. I'm not worried because we do it VERY rarely and only in extreme cases.

Well...really, what you just suggested is no solution. lol Apple in a tail pipe? Sugar in a gas tank? What is he...five years old? I never suggested vengeance lol I just said that at the time...if someone did that to me...I couldn't guarantee that I wouldn't respond to them directly.

Those bastards...I've seen stuff like that, but I've never had egg put in my hair or been spat on. I have never really physically stood up for myself (I've never really been in a position where I've needed to)...but I tell you, if that kid had spat on me...he would really, really regret it.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Please... what a waste of human space those people are.
I couldn't agree more. The sooner these morons fall on their genitals (making them inable to have children as dumbassed as themselves), the better.

Yeah...it would be weird in the sense that you'd be reading responses backwards. So most people would have to start at the bottom and work their way up in order to see the entire conversation. Also, when you visit a forum, the little yellow arrow buttons on the right will always take you to the lastest new post. So you don't even need to scroll to get there. ^_^

Flaws are what make the perfect mate perfect. ;) You find that you actually love your partner's flaws...they are unique to that person. Usually, things you see as flaws in yourself are things that attract others to you, to an extent. So yeah...flaws are actually a part of perfection, if that makes sense. If the other person was TOTALLY perfect in every way...that'd get boring very quickly.

I'm going to dress up as kuja and scare little girls. *goes searching for purple g-string*

I don't agree with censorship of any kind. However, I do believe that certain content is appropriate at certain times. I mean, if a movie is too violent...don't censor it, just give it a rating that prohibits kids from buying/renting it. If retailers enforce these guidelines, there is no problem. Of course, parents should enforce these things too...they should actively decide what their kids watch. In terms of the news media...it's not so much censorship. It's spin. Spin is bad...because sometimes the media take something and rather than outright censor it...they show it and then put it in the wrong context or something. Anyway, I'd like to hear what you think about it. It might be interesting...since it's your project. ;)

Demos surveyed the area directly around the APC and gestured for all the Hunters to close in. Demos: Did we find anything? Reverb: With the help of Security Droids, we've found some forensic evidence here...but I'm afraid there isn't much left. Whoever did this didn't leave much evidence. Demos: I see. Demos looked at Proteus. He'd seen Xion shove Proteus earlier. Demos: What's up with Xion? Proteus: I don't know. I think a family member of his died here...but he didn't say anything to me. He rejected my attempt to comfort him... Demos shook his head. Demos: Well, we're all Maverick Hunters. We don't have time to get into these emotional games. We have a job to do! Proteus, if you see Xion again...I think you should remind him of this. Proteus: Yeah... Proteus entered the APC, even though Demos had not dismissed anyone. He was sick of the heirarchy. He sat down and began thinking about the voice he'd heard earlier. But within moments, he heard the nearby door slam. It was Demos. Demos: What the hell was that? Proteus: ... Demos: You think that was funny or something? First Xion and now you! Proteus stood up and turned away from Demos. He took out a mobile SAU (Surface Evaluation Unit) and began scanning over his skin slowly...ensuring that his systems were functioning correctly. Demos: You didn't used to be like this, Proteus. Proteus: How would you know... Demos: What? Proteus: Nevermind. Demos frowned and pointed an angry finger at Proteus. Demos: You just make sure that you get yourself in line next time we go out on a mission like this... Proteus walk past Demos toward the door, but stopped short and eyed him closely. His tone was quiet and deliberate. Proteus: People died today. What happened here is far larger than even your tremendous ego. I recommend keeping your mind on the mission at hand...sir... And with that, he exited the room and headed for the APC's mobile control center. They'd be heading back to Hunter HQ anytime soon...

Well, let's face it. There are greedy people in the world who will try any number of scams. If they can get away with it...they will. In the 80's, pyramid schemes were big. And now, it seems that false damages claims are the big thing. Next decade, who knows what it'll be... But at the end of the day, there will always be people who try to scam other people...or the Government.

I think everyone should have equal rights, yes. But we're not talking about rights here. We're talking about a lack of good judgement in courts. This is partly why insurance rates have been going up; because stupid people who do stupid things bring stupid court cases forward...and stupid judges award them stupidly large amounts of money. Phew. That's it, in a nutshell. ;) These judges clearly aren't applying the law properly...because this is a pretty recent trend. All we need is common sense in the courts -- clearly, if you can trip over on a sidewalk and sue the city council, that isn't common sense. That's just foolish. It surprises me that judges, despite being qualified for their job, are often handing down these ridiculous rewards for the dumb actions of individuals...

Well, to put it bluntly...if people don't read the rules, they run a huge risk of making a mistake. That is a risk they have to be willing to take. If they break the rules and then say "I didn't read the rules" -- bad luck. They were reminded again and again to do so...if they choose to ignore our requirements, that's their own problem.

To answer your questions... We did have a web development forum. But due to lack of interest, it was cut. It might be put up again in the future though. There are some other forums that are currently under performing. But I'm giving them some time to let them grow...and if they don't grow, they'll be cut. We don't want to have a fat, bloated boards full of forums with only a few posts. Rather, we want to have forums that people are going to actively post in. As far as banning goes...yes, we usually just ban someone's account. Their account and posts do not dissappear, however. Rather, their status is simply "banned". If the same person returns and continues spamming, we ban their entire computer...so that they are not able to make another account on the same machine. In some cases, we enact an IP ban immediately (like with that Beam Kirby guy who started spamming like an idiot). Sometimes, we delete a user's account. This rarely happens, but sometimes it happens if people want their name and they are inactive...or if they are simply inactive. I recently removed most of our inactive members (if I hadn't, we'd have about 4,000 members by now). No real point in doing that...but it helps if someone has a name that others want, but are inactive. I hope that answers your question :)

Whoa...electronic music is my speciality. :) I don't really have time to go in-depth here (it's very late right now lol). What I will say, is that electronic music (because it is often not built with traditional instruments), is frequently misunderstood and labeled as "uncreative". However, the thing I love about electronica is the fact that there are no boundaries. Don't have the right instrument? Create your own from scratch. It's what I love about it...it's so flexible. It can do so much more than any other form of music on Earth. And as technology improves...it grows, expands and reaches new heights. In the right hands, electronic music can change your entire reason for being. :)

What couldn't I live without? My lover...the Internet...video games and music. That and food/water. lol With those things, I'm about as happy as I can possibly be.

I see no problem in discussing manga in the anime forum. For one thing, a lot of manga ends up on video anyway...(ie: Manga Video lol). So, sure...you can discuss it. :)

Ben, please edit your orignal post rather than posting a second time in a row. We don't allow double posts at OtakuBoards. please read the rules. :)

No, I can't. Why do you think I hire tech staff in the first place? ;) If I could make these hacks and install them, everything would have been done a long time ago. I can do some things -- such as changing the gradients and some graphics. But I can't produce or install hacks myself. So that's why we have Tech Staff. :)

Oh come now, we don't hate anyone here do we? :) We just guide those who are a little mentally unstable. No problems there. :D Anyway...yes, this is why I have never put in a name changing feature before. With some 3000 + members, can you imagine what it'd be like if even only 100 changed their name right now? You would have no idea who they are. People would be asking "Who are you? I forget!" left, right and center. So, it's nice to change names...but it does also lead to confusion. That's why people have to put that message in their siggy and keep it there for a while. That may help to counter some of the problems I hope.
