What black things at the end of major columns? The User CP is designed to be nice and easy to read. And from what I remember, it does include a gradient or two in there somewhere. And finally, the "Play" feature is not online yet. When it is, we'll be sure to let you know. ;)

We already have a topic that discusses a potential war. Please try to limit these topics. As soon as we get one, a billion more seem to spring up.

Rampant paranoia, or justified security?
James replied to The Harlequin's topic in General Discussion
Argh, yet again gokents, you're wrong. Let's think about this in all seriousness. What on earth does the current inept airport security regime have to do with President Clinton? Don't you see that you're making quite a stretch there? It annoys me when people take something unrelated and use it to further a political agenda. Let's just remember that this new airport security came into service after 9/11. Blaming a former Administration is a bit foolish. I really urge you to put more thought into your posts before you post stuff like this again -- I don't care if you have an opinion, but at least get your facts right. Also, I'm going to close both this thread and another -- we're starting to get a build up of these types of threads. -
Rampant paranoia, or justified security?
James replied to The Harlequin's topic in General Discussion
I think basically you're just a disgruntled bastard with too much to think about. lol Ahem... Anyway, yeah...anything they confiscate from you will be any sharp objects/metal objects/etc... I think it's reasonable. I know that if I were travelling on a plane, I'd feel a hell of a lot safer knowing that these sorts of things aren't making it onto the plane. Remember; the hijackers on Sept. 11 were using box cutters that were plastic. Nobody suspected that they would be enough -- but they were. So clearly, if some insane nut can use box cutters...then almost any sharp object can be used as a weapon. The only thing I object to is the fact that they search old ladies and stuff like that...I mean, by making them remove their shoes and stuff. That is just a bit ridiculous. Oh and...since when is the land down under a backwater? You must live out in a nasty swamp or something. lol -
Hmm...excellent. Piro: I'm hoping to get that changed soon. ^_^

Wing Gundam; yep, avatars will be fixed soon. :) I decided to keep white for within the posts, so that any colour can be displayed. Grey obscured some colours. But anyway, now that everyone can access the v6 skin...we are working on two other things. First and foremost, the Event Arena will kick off with a bang very soon. And also, the Game Arena will be online shortly as well. :)

Okay, Shift has done some skin fixing...it should work properly for everyone now. So for those who couldn't see it all before, please use this thread to let me know if it's okay now! :)

This game is looking better and better the more I see it! It's simply beautiful. I can't wait to see images of some of the new dungeons...
-
Once again, I see your point. But I don't think it would pan out that way. I just can't see everyone dealing with it in that same civil manner.

O_O looks amazing! I didn't see a picture like this; only that crappy IGN one that is too small. The clothing is very similar to the Final Fantasy X clothing set...though of course, Yuna had very distinctive clothing in that game. Now, she seems to be more "like the others", so to speak. Still, it looks very interesting...I can't wait to see more of this game.

It looks like you are having some major skin problems. I'll talk to someone about it.

I understand your complaint. And I also understand the original nature of the thread. However, there are two things to consider: 1) Many people will be able to guess who is "disliked". This can only lead to a more negative tone on the boards. 2) The thread is inevitably going to attract unwanted discussion...regardless of what the intentions are. Even people who start out with the right intentions may end up posting something that they shouldn't have, because the discussion might move in that direction. So, yeah...I can understand your original intent. But I don't think that the thread is really necessary. The bad outweighs the good on this occasion.

To answer your question: I really hope to have a whole new batch of avatars up soon. At the moment I'm still thinking about how the avatar index should be arranged, as now, we offer custom avatars as standard. Also, do you guys prefer the new "New Thread" and "Reply" buttons? You may remember the old ones...the ones I first had on the site. I changed them a week or so ago. I'm also planning on making other button changes soon.

I'm referring to the big menu/toolbar at the top of the page, containing the site logo. It's known as the "OtakuBoards Gizmo". :) The previous version was made of multiple images and was causing problems. The new version is cleaner and should work better. I'm just wondering if people who had problems with the last version are able to use the new version (in other words, are they able to access their user cp etc..?)

Just wondering if the new OB Gizmo is working better for everyone than the previous Gizmo. I just want to get some input on that...I'll delete this thread afterwards. :)
Originally posted by gokents i would also like to appoligize for my lack of grammatical abilities, any pointers would be greatly appreciated.thanks
I've just outlined how you can improve. Shall I do it again? You need to take some more time when posting; focus on using capital letters...using punctuation and seperating points with paragraphs. As I said, if you want to be credible and taken seriously...then you really do have to focus on this important area.
-
gokents, I believe the original thread was asking people to list good qualities. And now people are obviously going to try and guess who hates who. Ridiculous.

Okay well, there are two things I need to bring up with you. 1) You're acting as though Republicans have never been hypocritical. Once again, I'm no huge Democrat OR Republican supporter...but both parties can be equally hypocritical and stupid. It's not called partisanship...it's called POLITICS. 2) Please clean up your post quality. I'm not going to ask you again. I've asked you repeatedly already. I'm talking about spelling, grammar, capital letters, punctuation and paragraphs. It makes your posts easier to read and gives you more credibility. Post quality (or lack thereof) will get you banned...much moreso than whatever your opinion on a subject might be. So that's something to watch out for.

No point in legalizing marijuana. The fact is, if you legalize it, more people will use it. And that is not good. Marijuana is much more dangerous than tabacco, also. It not only creates the physical defects that tabacco is known for, but it also creates long term mental/psychological problems. I don't agree with the punishment of people who are actually smoking it...but people who are dealing it should be charged with the full weight of the law. If cigarettes and alcohol were illegal these days...do you think they'd become legal? Of course not. We are now fully aware of the problems that these drugs produce in society. Thinking that marijuana is somehow "less harmful" is blatantly ignoring the facts about the drug. It's far more harmful than many alternatives out there (if you do not use it in appropriate moderation). The simple fact is...if we legalize a drug, more people will use it. It will be more accessible than ever before. I certainly couldn't justify that. But anyway, we've only just had this topic. Please try not to repeat topics so soon. :)

Hm, I think this is relevant here. Not only because of music...but because of general Internet slang. Now, because of Snoop Dog, everything that a rapper says ends with "izzle". It pisses me off, frankly. lol And as I've said a bazillion times...I hate the "u", "ur", "u 2" etc etc...that txt speak. As Flash would say, "it's fine for mobile phones, but not on message boards!"

My Diary What a strange couple of days this has been! It all seemed to start when I began chasing that golden rabbit. I don't know what he has against me, but he always seems to get me into some sort of trouble. Oh well. A nice lunch at the Mushroom Inn quickly turned nasty after some big Pirahna Plants came down the main street and started annoying everyone. We managed to escape through a special underground tunnel. But now, I'm in a strange world with Madam Aroma. And I don't know where Link or Yoshi are! In any case, I am troubled by these recent events. Not only because I've lost my friends, but also because I have so far been unable to work out what is going wrong in the Mushroom Kingdom. Where are those plants coming from? And why are they able to walk on the ground like that? I had always thought that Pirahna Plants needed a pot of dirt to stay alive...oh well. I must find a way of returning to the Mushroom Kingdom soon, no matter what the cost! Let me see here...I think that there might be an intercontinental railway nearby. "Memory Card Station", I think it's called. It allows video game characters to travel from one platform to another. How ingenious! After checking my map, it seems that the nearest Mushroom Kingdom station is the Donut Plains Train Station. I should head in that direction and bid my current companions fairwell...

You obviously haven't read the rules. Furthermore, you've posted several inane and pointless threads/posts so far. I'm sorry, but in this case, I think a ban is warranted.
Originally posted by gokents just so every one knows, i did that qoute james wrote on my own. thank you, ill take that as a compliment. it should be common knowledge if you ask me. i mean come on, its not like the american democrates dont walk around trying to act like republicans are gonna take away old peoples medication, and make every one on the planet work for a buck fifty an hour. i mean ab lincoln was a republican, eisenhower (who integrated schools) was a republican. us republicans just got a bad rap because democrates are really good at muck slinging and slander. other wise just one thing, talking doesnt get anything done with these people. maybe the canadians, but none of the middle east. just look at isreal. theyve talked and talked but nothing. if the muslims want something they never give up. maybe i can admire them for that.
I don't agree with a lot of things that both Democrats and Republicans do. Both parties do a lot of mud slinging. To deny that is to be incredibly naive. I'm just saying that your partisan nature is only self-defeating. You're doing just what you accuse the Democrats of doing; slinging mud. :)

Read the rules. We want discussion...not just lists of what your favourite bands/groups/artists are. And please improve your post quality...once again, you should read the rules to get a better idea of what we require.

AnimeLover, I find that the story of FF games is what tends to be more similar than the battle systems. The problem is when either the story or battle system is particularly bad. In Final Fantasy IX, the story was horrible. And that was a shame...because the art was gorgeous...the battle system was finely tuned and the core gameplay elements were pretty solid. But that highly redundant story just weighed it all down. On the other hand, Final Fantasy VII was a great mix of everything. The battle system was pretty well done (though not my favourite), the story was wonderful...and the characters became very likeable. Final Fantasy X is a beautiful game...it's definitely a masterpiece in its own right. The Sphere Grid is absolutely brilliant (my favourite levelling up system EVER)...the battle system is also spot on. The characters are, for the most part, very well done. But the background story (in my opinion) leaves a little to be desired so far. Some of it is pretty predictable. Of course, it's not as bad as FFIX...but it's not the best Square have come up with. So, yeah...story is key. But if the core gameplay is no fun, then it's not worth bothering with. At least FFX is great fun to play...which makes the story less important.
