Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! But that's not who I am. I never wanted the name Charmander. I could've done it, I was thinking about it when first becoming a member. But that's a crappy name if you ask me. Besides, I have a good reason for wanting to keep this name, but I'd rather not divulge such information at this moment... And to stay with the topic, something that really annoys me is when people try and change names of members at theOtaku Boards... heh-heh...
lol...well frankly, you don't have a whole lotta choice in the matter. I'm not asking for anything major -- just a minor name edit. I mean, let's be real here...I'm not trying to surgically remove your genitals or something like that....lol Anyway...if this topic doesn't get going, I'm going to close it lol.
Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! Yes, on with the topic... after this :p So I change my name. I lose all of my post counts. I have to start my enitre status over again. Why couldn't you have brought this up when I still had less than 100 posts? I've been here for years and I've never gotten this many posts. You could've at least told me a few months before... Hey, here's an idea: expand the limits for the lengths of names, and the problem's solved... It used to be bigger, otherwise how could I have first signed up with this name? Just a few more spaces is all that's needed. And I don't want a new name, 'cause I'm a stubborn guy who likes things not changing...
Umm...I'm not suggesting that you lose all your posts or anything. I just want to change your name, that's all lol. And I'm not going to change the table width of the site just to accommodate one stubborn member out of more than 2,500. It's a bit silly, don't you think? ;) So you should start thinking up alternatives lol. But maybe it'd be fine without the exclamation mark and the comma...eh, who knows.
Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! Crap, James. I thought you were cool... :bawl: Sniff, I'm so depressed...
Hey, I am cool. :drunk: Not my fault you chose a silly name, is it? ;) Heheh. Anyway..ahem, on with the topic... :grumble:
Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! I went through the same debate with Adam and won it over with him. I hope I can persuade you too. I seriously hope you're kidding.
What on earth does Adam have to do with it? lol I'm not kidding. :) It's just simply too long...there must be a way to shorten it, yet also retain its..."uniqueness" ;)
Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! But this name ain't going anywhere :p
Oh really? I was planning on editing it anyway as it's physically a little wide...it stretches all the tables on the site...blegh... Maybe you can suggest a shorter alternative? ;)
Originally posted by Char-Char,Mander-Char! I always considered myself one of these annoying people, and can't think of anyone who can be as annoying as I can. Of course, I only choose to be annoying. It's my thing I guess...
I still want to edit your username... ...whenever I see it, it makes me want to kill the nearest, cutest object...

Anime isn't a fad by definition. I think you guys need to look up the meaning of the word "fad".

Lemme say just one basic thing. Be yourself. :) Don't worry about saying stupid stuff...because chances are, if she likes you...she'll be saying stupid stuff too. And it's more than likely that she'll find that "stupid stuff" to be cute (this is what I was told when I went on a date with someone and I was nervous lol). If you be yourself and treat her with respect and kindness, you can't go wrong. :)

The Orb system was really the same as experience points. I mean, you gain orbs in the same way that you would with exp. points. The core difference was that you had to "buy" moves and abilities. At the end of the day, it really depends how much control you want. If you want to level up in a linear fashion (that is, you don't choose how your character becomes stronger), then a more traditional levelling up system would be appropriate. But if you want to select the new abilities and powers that your character can attain, then the orb system is probably preferable. I can see that the experience points would perhaps be more level...but they would also remove some variety from the gameplay. The whole point of the orb system is to encourage the player to choose their own upgrades so that ultimately, the character is a product of user-intervention. If anything, I'd like to see a more detailed orb system...whereby you can purchase a wider range of physical upgrades. So that in the end, your character is really your own creation...

Ahh yes. I frequently have annoying people talking to me...mostly on AIM (though my younger brother can get pretty annoying). Some staff will know what I'm talking about when I say: "Dis does not bode well 4 me!"

Just as a side note to those who join (who are Star Wars nuts), I am primarily trying to create a fairly new story. I apologize if there are any plot holes, but having not read the "expanded universe", I'm not 100% informed. However, I'm trying to retain some threads to keep it all together. My story is more based directly on the movies...but anyway, I thought it was time for a good SW RPG for a change. ;) STAR WARS FACES OF EVIL Several years have passed since the destruction of the Empire. Without solid leadership, the Empire became fractured and weak. Various power-hungry officers who had served in the Imperial Armies have carved out their own territories and are continually fighting each other for more control of the Galaxy. This fragmentation has also paved the way for a new GALACTIC REPUBLIC. The New Republic was formed twenty years ago, by what was known as the REBEL ALLIANCE. The former capital of the Galactic Republic, a planet known as Coruscant, is now the home of the New Republic; guided by the JEDI HIGH COUNCIL. However, the New Republic's grip on power is precarious. Deep within the depths of the planet Byss, the DARK EMPEROR waits for his opportunity. He grows stronger by the day; his malevolent forces search the Galaxy for allies who are sympathetic to his cause... Okay, here's how it works: fill out the sign up fields below (I'll provide links to resources for those who are, like me, less knowledgable about Star Wars). Be as creative as you like. Once sign ups are done, I'll make a list of people who can enter the RPG...which I'll post in the main forum. Good luck! ;) (Note: I'll post my sign up soon. For now, I'll just include fill-in fields) SIGN UP FIELDS NAME AGE SPECIES (You may choose any of the following species. You can also be a human.) LOCATION/HOMEWORLD (Here is a list of planets. You can choose one from here, or you may create your own. If you create your own, please include a description and some details of the local species/culture etc...) WEAPON (Include a description of the weapon's functions) ALLIANCE (You can either be an Imperialist, a "Republican" or you can be neutral) VEHICLE/SHIP (If you choose to own a basic vehicle or spacecraft, please provide details [or even a picture] here) FORCE CAPABILITIES (If you're a Jedi/Sith type character, include up to three realistic capabilities) CHARACTER DESCRIPTION (Provide a visual description of your character. Showing a picture that you've drawn is also fine) BACKGROUND/BIO (Talk about your character's background and their personality. Go into as much detail as you want) OTHER (Include any other details/information here) Okay...I hope that's all in order. Now go for it! :)

Hm...I don't think Yoda looked different at all. The reason he seemed different was primarily because of his animation...he looked somewhat more "lifelike". I saw a documentary where they did a split-screen and compared the original puppet with the 3D model...and they look identical when they are still. I think the main difference is that now, Yoda's eyes can move...he can have facial expressions...he's how he should be. He looked awesome when he was doing his thing...he's now one of my favourite characters (he wasn't before, I always found him annoying lol). By the way, if any of you are interested, I've started a new SW RPG in Games/RPGs. I wasn't happy with the slew of poor-quality SW RPGs lately...so I thought I'd start my own. At the moment I only have the sign up there; I'll put the full RPG up when I have enough sign ups. You guys might be interested to take a look. :) (I'd especially appreciate BabyGirl's expert storytelling skills to guide the story in the right directions...) ;)

Ugh, I thought we were trying to discourage stupid topics here... You're asking people what their hair style is? Hm...I think we need to be putting just a little more thought into topics. :)
Originally posted by kizu There isn't any point of getting in if you just wnat a gamecube because it cost 500 or so to get it modded so you can play games other than Japanese games.
What in god's name are you on about? $500 to get it modded? lol...that's just...stupid. If you want to buy a Panasonic Q that can play all region DVDs and all region GCN software, you can buy one online from www.liksang.com (I've purchased from there before and they're VERY reliable). It's a small mod which costs barely anything. Well worth the purchase, regardless of where you live. :)

Cid stared toward the door in disbelief. Cid: B-but...I didn't expect that kind of reaction... Z. Chang: What more do you expect? Flash and his staff are of a certain status, Cid. Do you really think they'd be interested in undertaking a task for your Garden? Cid: Zian, this is a global problem! Z. Chang: Yes, indeed. But do you really think that this is the best way to handle the situation? Cid: Do you have a better idea? Z. Chang: Cid, you must understand. Flash is a very headstrong young man. He is one of the youngest to have achieved such a high ranking position. I know how you feel -- I'm used to dealing with people who barely deserve their status. But it's something we must come to accept and work with. Cid: I take it you don't approve of Flash? Z. Chang: ....Flash is Trabia Garden's concern. Not mine. Cid: Heh, will you lead a party to Dollet, then? Z. Chang: You've got to be joking. I came here to preside over a SeeD demonstration. I'm not here to run your errands for you. You have plenty of senior staff here in Balamb... Cid: At least 25% of our SeeDs are on training missions far from here...I need outside help! Please, Zian...you know how difficult it is.... Z. Chang: No, I don't. It's not difficult. When I am in Galbadia, I hear nothing but complaints and inefficiency. And when I come here to Balamb, things are no better! You dissappoint me, Cid. Cid: Fine...there is nothing more I can say... Z. Chang: No, there isn't. As far as I'm concerned, you've done more than enough. It's time for more swift action to be taken...
Originally posted by The Harlequin ...must...take...eyes...off...screen...eyes...drying up..... I heard somewhere that they where making the third one at the same time. Someone like to confirm/deny that for me? (PLEASE confirm it)
I'm pretty sure that The Matrix is going to be a trilogy. Kind of like Star Wars. However, I heard rumors that the story would actually fit into five movies. So who knows what'll happen...
Originally posted by Desbreko Eh? They don't have repair info for different countries? I checked www.nintendo.com.au, and I couldn't find any information on getting a GCN repaired... I was sure they had information for different countries in the costomer service section, though...
Nope, of course they don't. :) Nintendo of America isn't Nintendo Australia...they are two different companies. Their repairing policies may also be somewhat different. I am not sure whether or not Nintendo Australia would actually repair a foreign machine (he may even need to send it all the way back to Japan for repairs)...but you never know. If there is any doubt, he should just call 'em. :)

Heh, isn't it fun to systematically destroy idiotic points one by one? ;)

I saw Ep II today for the first time...it was a working day, so the theatre was pretty empty. I thought it was very good. It wasn't the biggest movie of all time, like some claim...but it was a hell of a lot better than Episode I. The first half was kind of drawn-out, I thought. But by the middle, it was getting very good. And yeah...the Yoda fight scene was utterly brilliant lol. I loved it! ^_^ Hayden was a better actor than I thought, simply because I had low expectations. He was MUCH better than that annoying little kid in Ep. I, at least... So yeah, overall I really enjoyed it. It seemed to contain a lot more than Episode I in terms of plot...it was full of little references and stuff... Anyway, I don't want to give anything away (I hope I'm not lol)...but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mr. Lucas is redeemed. :)
Originally posted by Desbreko Man, that really sucks... You should try looking on www.nintendo.com under the "customer service" section, and see if it gives prices for repairing a GCN. I'm pretty sure it has information about that sort of thing. Also, you might look at your warrenty and see if it covers stuff like this. It probably won't, because the GCN is Japanese, or for some other reason, but you never know. I'd check it out just in case.
Going to Nintendo.com won't help him at all...as Nintendo.com is an American site for Nintendo of America. If he needs warranty info, he should ring Nintendo Australia by phone or he should visit www.nintendo.com.au for assistance. :nono:
Originally posted by roxieortatiana if America is NOT the victim of a jealous world, what is the case?
Thinking that the world is jealous is about as arrogant as you can get; it only plays into the hands of those who say "America is so arrogant". People who dislike America are usually people who have been affected by American policy in some way. In the case of the Middle East...it's mostly the fact that there is so much propaganda there and no free press or free Government. That is why the Middle East is so suspicious of the USA in general...whereas the rest of the world couldn't care less. Those countries that have free press and democracy are far less likely to take issue with the US...
Originally posted by cloricus Ha, I'd like to see that!
What is the meaning of that? Are you saying that other countries don't have the same ideals as the United States?
Didn't NZ pull out of that treaty? I know that they really couldn't help if Australia was attacked but it's like saying. "If where invaded you have to help us, BUT if you get invaded, you can go stuff yourselves!"
I am not sure. It's possible. During the 1990's, Australia sold a fleet of some 20 F-14 fighters to New Zealand...and NZ stored them within Australia (at one of our air bases)...and they paid us to maintain them. However, in the year 2000, the NZ Government decided that it couldn't afford to continue maintaining the aircraft...and it didn't feel that it would ever need them. So it gave them back to Australia. So certainly...if we were attacked, NZ probably couldn't do much in the way of hardware. It could offer troops, though.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail How do I get it repaired? Would an Australian repairer be able to repair it? Or would I have to send it overseas or something? Man this sucks...
Ahh, that's the price for getting a Japanese system. ;) You can send the console to Nintendo Australia for repair -- but be warned...you'll have to pay for the repair and pay for the shipping/handling. Nintendo's HQ are in Melbourne...so it might be pretty pricey.

Preview showings of Ep. II started here a few hours ago...and the movie starts in *checks watch* two hours from now! ^_^
