1. The bible says a million things that never eventuate. As for the whole currency thing...I think it's true that world currencies will merge together a lot more -- it's not exactly rocket science...it's pretty obvious that less currencies = higher efficiency. The world is becoming smaller every day...and currency is just another example of that. The world itself will end in a few hundred million years, when the sun expands to the point where the inhabitants on this planet die. The only other way the Earth could be destroyed before then would be a meteor/comet or something of that nature... But even in that circumstance, you and I are only here in less than the blink of an eye...relative to the Earth's age. So I don't think that you or I have much to worry about, when it comes to these grand premonitions of the end of the planet...you or I are more likely to be killed in a car accident or by a disease or something...
 2. Proteus sat there still, looking out over the hills in the distance. He wasn't particularly interested in Zero's arrival. At this point, he was still trying to understand the feelings he was having after Flash's death. One thing he knew for certain; he didn't want it to happen again. Proteus knew that one of his feelings was definitely guilt. He felt guilty for letting Flash die. He thought it was his fault. Proteus was forced to grow up quickly, thanks to Flash's passing. The forest battle had left everyone feeling introspective for the last few hours, and Proteus knew what he must do; he must become more powerful...more powerful than the Replimasters. He stood up and made his way into the weapons bay of the APC. Inside, he saw various computer monitors with incomprehensible digital readouts and diagrams. Proteus walked over to a computer terminal which was blank. He typed on the keys for a moment, bringing up a large blue schematic. The schematic contained a highly complex (and highly experimental) design. The design in question was essentially one of Dr. Light's most important energy-based projects. It was called the "R-600" project. The "R" stood for "Regenerative" and the "600" stood for "600 kilowatts". The R-600 project was basically a blueprint for a new form of robot energy source. The source was similar to the current particle accelerator technologies used in current robots, but with a twist; it was able to generate almost limitless power. The problem with this technology in the past, was that subjects were often overloaded with energy - their bodies were too fragile to contain such power. Proteus was different. As his operations manual had already pointed out, Proteus was capable of downloading varying weapons programs into his limbs, giving them the ability to simultaneously morph into different shapes, thus giving him almost limitless weapon capabilities. The only problem with this system (as Proteus discovered) was that it required a continual datastream with some sort of outside computer that contained the weapon files. When he was in the forest, Proteus noticed that his data communication was cut and thus, he was unable to download the appropriate weapons programs. This new energy accelerator would allow Proteus to form near-immeasurable amounts of energy in his modifiable buster cannon, meaning that a replimaster would be no problem. The only problem was, Proteus didn't know how to acquire the R-600 Cell. Dr. Light had never revealed its location, for fear of it falling into the wrong hands. Proteus looked over the diagram carefully. He felt certain that he would be able to perform the modification itself, but he had absolutely no idea where to find the R-600 Cell...
 3. Early that morning... The intricately carved doors of the Royal Chamber slid upwards into the ceiling with a faint "whoosh!". Largo entered the chamber and saw the Queen sitting on her throne. Surrounding her were her various handmaidens, preparing her for the journey to the town square. The Queen looked up at Largo as he entered; he noticed a slight look of concern on her face. As Largo approached, the Queen stood up (which required some effort, due to her large silver head-dress). Largo approached the throne and bowed. The Queen merely nodded, acknowledging his presence. Largo: Your Majesty... Amidala: I trust you received my message from Saché last night. Largo: Indeed, Your Highness. Amidala: Good. I have summoned you because I wish to raise a concern with you. Largo: Oh? Amidala: I have heard rumors recently, which suggest that the Republic is facing a threat of some kind. Largo: Do you know anymore about it? Amidala: Unfortunately not. I do not know any details, but my source is highly reliable. Largo: Oh. What do you wish for me to do, Your Majesty? Amidala: I wish to expose this threat. I require more information. Therefore, it is my wish that you travel to Coruscant. I am sure that more information can be found there; those of us living near the outer-rim generally receive vital information when it is too late. Largo: Agreed... Amidala: I have already arranged for a delegation to attend Coruscant with you. You will be travelling aboard the Royal Starship. Largo: Certainly, Your Highness. I will make sure to report back to you as soon as I hear something of use. Amidala: I trust that you will. Good luck. Largo smiled and bowed. Once again, the Queen merely nodded. Largo turned and walked out of the room. This directive had some rather suddenly and he didn't quite know what to make of it. Nevertheless, the Queen's order was the Queen's order...
 4.
Originally posted by hot head Btw people only think ps2 is better because it has more games out at the moment!
I wouldn't say that. People prefer the PS2 because its game library is generally superior to Xbox. There are many reasons for that, but it's still an objective fact. When the Xbox game library improves (in terms of having a good AAA game percentage), you'll find more people investing in the machine. As it stands, the GameCube has now edged past Xbox in week-by-week sales in the United States. It's also killing Xbox in Europe and Australasia. So definitely, if you are going to buy an Xbox, you need to ensure that it has the kind of games you really want to play. Otherwise, you could find yourself with vaporware in a few years time.
 5. Hm, I think this thread has gone on long enough. We've had a few of these "Otaku history" thread lately. I think they've been done to death. :)
Originally posted by Sacred Warrior Bill Gates is a cool guy. I mean without him we would'nt be doing this right now. If I were him I would be doing the same.
Without him, we'd probably have much more reliable Operating Systems -- and we'd probably have some kind of variety, rather than only having one major OS. Bill Gates isn't really the genius that many say -- Windows is based heavily on IBM's old visual OS (which was the world's first visual OS, by the way). Gates pretty much duplicated IBM's setup and then ran them out of the market. Gates is a ruthless businessman, I'll give him that. But he's no creative genius.
 7. Yep, IQ#1 was banned yesterday, mostly due to a topic in General Anime. But now I can see that it was a common problem with him...
 8. Slasher, please try to improve your post quality. Use capital letters, correct spacing, proper grammar and spelling. Sorry to pull you up on it, but it is a requirement for members on the boards. :)
 9. OOC: Hope I'm not too late. If I am, feel free to kick me out. lol The large city of Naboo was quiet that night. Fireflies buzzed in between the long grass and over the plentiful lakes, casting soft, yellow reflections on the water's surface. The Governor of Naboo, Largo Sung, was sitting in his quarters, reading quietly. His room was as large as it was picturesque, with large hand-painted murals on the walls and with enormous arched windows. He was sitting in a large armchair by one of the windows, in his nightgown. Even the nightgown itself was elaborately decorated with traditional Naboo symbols and artwork. He sat silently, smoking his pipe and looking down through his small, round spectacles. Largo was reading a book entitled "Legend of the Underwater People". It had been written many years ago by a famous explorer from Naboo, who had been the first man to uncover the underwater Gungan City. Largo was particularly interested in Gungan culture and society, though he'd never actually met a Gungan and the Gungans had never had much contact with the Naboo. (OOC: Remember, the events of SW movies haven't happened and thus, the Naboo haven't been "forced" into a relationship with the Gungans) Largo was halfway through the book, when he heard a quiet knocking at his chamber door. He looked up momentarily and then resumed his reading; he half hoped that the intruder would give up and assume that he was asleep. But it was no good, he heard the knocking sound again. Largo sighed and placed his book carefully on a nearby wooden desk. He made sure to leave the book open at the page he'd been reading. He stood up and removed his glasses. Largo: Come in... The huge, ornate wooden door opened slowly and a small figure entered the room. It was Saché, one of Queen Amidala's handmaidens. She entered the room quietly and stood motionless for a moment, as if waiting for the Governor's approval to speak. Largo: Go ahead, Saché. Saché: The Queen sent me here, your honour. Largo: Oh? Rather late, isn't it, my dear? Saché: Yes, I'm sorry sir. She wishes to speak with you in the morning. Largo: Couldn't she have told me this in the morning, rather than now? Saché: In the morning, she is presiding over the opening of a new museum in the center of town. She will not be present in the Palace. She wishes to see you before she leaves. Largo: Oh...alright then. Thank you for the message. Saché: My pleasure, sir. Saché bowed and walked out of the room, making sure to close the large door behind her. Largo sat down by the window again. He wondered what could have been so important...

 11.
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy Yep, 'tis true, 'tis true. The only problem is when the crap games drown out the good titles.
Yep. This is a major problem for Xbox. In terms of Panzer Dragoon...I'm really looking forward to it, but I fear that the mediocre Xbox controller could negatively affect the game. :( Even if the game is well developed...nothing can fix that controller (short of getting a different kind). If they release that "updated" version here, i'll be sure to get it.
 12. Proteus stood up and walked down the short hallway inside the APC. He pushed a button on the wall, and the large entrance door silently slid upwards and folded itself over the roof of the vessel. Proteus sat on the floor with his legs dangling over the edge. He looked at Warlock, who looked back. Proteus: Why did it have to happen? Warlock: Things like that just happen, kid... Proteus: I don't understand. Warlock: You're only new to the world, Proteus. I don't expect you to understand yet. Proteus: But why did he do that? Doesn't he know how we feel? Warlock: He did it because he wanted to save us, Proteus. That's what Flash is about...what he did didn't surprise anyone here. We all knew what kinda guy he was. Proteus: "knew"..."was"...talking in the past tense...I'm still not used to it. Warlock: Give it time, Proteus. Give it time.
 13. Proteus sat still. He was watching the plasma screen infront of him, silently glowing and utterly motionless. He held his hand infront of his face and examined it. Its metallic surface was slightly darker, due to dust and dirt from his encounter in the forest. He gently blew the dust away. His skin was metallic and as he looked more closely, he could see the tiny plastic veins snaking through almost microscopic canals in the surface. The lense in his eyes tightened electronically, allowing him to zoom in a little closer. He saw tiny bursts of pure blue light flashing through the plastic veins, in two second intervals. It amazed him; that he was alive. The meaning of life was something that he had always considered, ever since his first activation several days prior. Human seemed to hold life with such precious regard. And yet, life was so fragile...so easily destroyed. Only an hour ago, Flash had been standing there beside him. He'd seen the expressions on Flash's face...he'd seen Flash's movements and heard his speech. And now he wasn't there. He was nowhere. He was no more. Never again. Do robots go to heaven? Proteus was feeling things he'd never felt before. His entire body felt heavier than it really was, yet his weight hadn't changed. He couldn't move...he couldn't speak...he didn't know how to express these feelings. Proteus looked up. There was a large window infront of him. He watched Warlock silently hovering next to the APC outside. And as he looked up further, he could see a flock of white gulls flying overhead. The entire world seemed slower now. Everything seemed to be more precise...more meaningful. Proteus' view was blurred momentarily. At first he thought it was a technical malfunction. But upon a mental double-take, he realized that it was just a tear.

 16.
Originally posted by kuja hahaha thank you and your post just adds to it *saves the screen shot and sends link to lawyers* now im not suing because of my being fired, after being banned (which james said i WOULDNT be) i actually enjoyed not having to worry about making sure everything here was clean. now as for your saying this is a website and therefore has no rules, after reading the legal announcement these boards have posted (and finding the standard one for UBB) and then talking to military lawyers who cant get paid for the case or actually take the case, decided i had a very high chance of winning the case since as coppa politely pointed out there are a lot of things illegal with his sites, i dont need to go into them here with yall because this is between me and adam, i already told him that i dont expect to be a SM here, it isnt about the 'power' as you put it chris it is beyond that. if you wanna know ask adam, if he actually paid attention when i told him he may tell you.
Okay, let's break this down and sort it all out objectively, shall we? Firstly, you are demonstrating that you have no idea how either civilian, military or corporate law operates. O3Online is not a company with a headquarters -- it has no financial records or accounting system. O3 is quite simply, an online network which is owned by a singular entity (in this case, Adam). What exactly are you intending to sue us for? "COPPA has kindly pointed out there are a lot of illegal things with his sites". Oh? Such as? COPPA (as you don't seem to understand), is not an organization. COPPA is a system of registration, which is used by many commercial websites. We do not use it, because we do not provide content which would require use of the COPPA system. Thus, your "grounds" for sueing us are absolutely invalid. Secondly, your whole comment about "military lawyers that don't need to be paid" etc etc...I have never heard so much rubbish in all my life. Do you really think someone is going to waste their time pursuing some idiotic teenager's little quest for vengeance? Don't make me laugh, kuja. That's utterly pointless and you know it. Grow up.
second if i were to sue as to what james has done to me i would have to sue the site, since james isnt american but works for an american company i would have to sue the company he works for, and if the company is shut down so is he, effectivly getting 'revenge' as he calls it.
lol...and here we go, it gets more and more ridiculous and insane. You don't seem to understand, kuja. I don't work for a company here -- O3 is not a company and thus, is not bound to corporate law under any circumstance. I studied Small Business Management for a year and Corporate Management for two years. I'm no expert, but at least I have some idea about the subject. As I mentioned, you have absolutely no grounds to sue (not that you can sue, the premise of even that is as far-fetched as it gets). But moreover, you don't even have grounds to cause issue with Adam and I. If anyone is to sue, it should be us. Why? Because, quite simply, you were given a job and you failed to live up to your commitments here. By doing so, you've voided your own agreements with us. You see, kuja...it works both ways. The insanity, that is. You sue us for doing so-called "illegal" things, and we'll sue you for being a brat. Both concepts are equally possible.
now as i stated to everyone who has asked me, there are about 3 options which i would settle for (no money or power given to me) that would convince me that i shouldnt do this, and one where i am a SM again (thou i wouldnt do crap cause i really dont want it, am happy with the other forums i go to and the online gaming site (actually play games not like OG) (and i get paid around $500 a month for what i do at one site... the other site im get a ps2/gcn/cpu game a month which yea that isnt much but more than i got here. y volunteer when you can get paid.) but that option is honestly the least likely to happen.
LOL...my god, that's the biggest bunch of tripe I've ever heard. Let me get this straight...you'd avoid sueing purely to have your Super Mod status retained? LOL Man...kuja, you're making me laugh so hard here! And yes, of course...you get $500 a month from another site, etc etc etc...oh kuja, you're so important!. *sigh* Gimme a break, kuji. This is the most pointless, childish rubbish I've EVER read. This is like the US Government saying to Microsoft "Okay, we won't sue you if you give us a lollipop". It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life...and to think that you're passing this off as being serious... If anyone had any faith in what you'd said so far, this should just about cancel it all out I would imagine.
and speaking of power hungry... isnt it odd that the moment ginny questioned james's attitude on that relgion thread he demanded an appoligy from her and she quit. and wow james was not wrong in that thread at all?
Ahh yes. Bringing in something completely irrelevant; it really suits your underhanded style, kuja. In reality, Ginny had misunderstood what I had said. I had made my feelings very clear, after that "incident". Ginny felt that it was too much pressure for her and she chose to leave for her own reasons. I'm certainly not saying that I'm perfect, but it's important to point out that I should be able to stand up for my beliefs the same as anyone else. What makes Ginny and I so different? Why is she able to speak frankly about her beliefs and I am not? If anything, this demonstrates your own warped sense of authority and fairness as opposed to anything I ever did. Furthermore, Ginny not only was prepared to clarify her statements for me, but she came back here and posted like a normal member. She didn't flame, she didn't threaten to "sue"...and generally, she acted her age. This is something I've yet to see from you.
and he is above his own rules, when we close a topic most of us dont open the thread back up unless talking to each other about the general idea of the thread. the thread was closed and he opened it, i talked to most of the staff closed it and asked him to not open it or respond on the post (pretty dang politely for me) and he did it anyway to prove to us that he was right. now if that isnt abuse of power... than nothing on a message board could be.
Actually, the thread was closed for inappropriate reasons. It was closed because it was quite a heated discussion. But as I made very clear, heated discussions are not reason to close a thread. Now of course, every other staff member accepted this comment and allowed the thread to continue. But once again, you look at things a little differently; you attempt to somehow make something perfectly legitimate an act of "abuse of power". When infact, it is you who abused your power on several nonconsecutive occasions -- whether it were editing someone's posts to make them look as though they were abusing themself, or merely banning people who didn't deserve it. I'm sure those who were banned for no reason (Jamvis, for example), will be able to tell us all about abuse of power.
now i personally like adam and was going to buy otakugamer off of him at one point and had even talked to other members about it, but then when i was banned from these boards i obviously wasnt going to buy a site that i couldnt see the message boards that went along with them.
How many times must I tell you? You were not banned. You were temporarily blocked from specific forums. You chose not to approach me about this and thus (through your own sense of pride), you remained blocked until the v5 launch. If you were banned, do you really think I'd have unbanned you? Did your status ever say "banned"? Of course not. Don't waste my time.
and i do know a little bit about law, when your military and move around a lot you get to know a lot of people, so i went into the JAG offices around where i live (they are nothing like the show lol) and got an opinion cause they wouldnt be driven by commision, i then went to a few lawyers that were 'public' lawyers and just to let you know the gvment is in the middle of a anti-net right now and likes to shut down sites. i wouldnt even have to sue for anything james did, just on lawys adam broke with his sites.
Ahh yes, you're a law expert. You're attempting to sue a site which is violating laws that you yourself haven't even mentioned. Tell me, kuja, what laws is O3 actually violating? And no, "lots of illegal stuff" isn't an answer.
thou i dont plan on bringing everything into this, and trust me, im not stupid enuff to sue and not have a good shot at winning.
LOL Then you must be pretty stupid -- you don't have a chance in hell, ma boy.
now i know i may be acting 'immature' as james likes to put anything that goes against his 'maturity' but im making a few teenagers face the facts of life, you screw with certain people and they will screw you tenfold.
You're acting immature. And that's putting it lightly. The only fact we are facing is that you've become a petty, jealous, nasty, spoiled little boy who likes to get his own way. When things don't go the way kuji likes them, he lashes out and verbally abuses those around him. As far as I'm concerned, we've given you more than enough chances. And you've continually screwed us -- if you want to know what it's like to be screwed ten fold, you only have to ask. :)
so before any of you open your mouth i suggest you figure out what i am suing for and what i have offered adam in PMs and IMs to settle this, which frankly 2 of them arent that hard on him. neither of which give me my positon back.
Ah yes, once again, these "mystery grounds for sueing". I hate to remind you, kuja...but you ain't sueing us for anything. And furthermore, I hope you understand that when you attempt to sue someone and you fail, there are provisions in federal law which would allow us to seek damages from your suit (that is, if you actually attempted to sue us). So my message to you would be "give it your best shot". We will be here for a long time to come. I suggest that you switch off your PC, take your hand away from your crotch, and sit in silence for a moment. You have some growing up to do, my friend.
btw james i had pretty much dropped it till you went to another boards and swore you hadnt banned me or taken access to anything but the staff forum away from me... so yall can thank james for bringing me back to OB and this lawsuit against them, me and adam were actually talking about a business transaction up until then so thank you james for thinking you shove your weight around wherever you go if members from here are there.
Pretty much dropped it? Nuh uh. You knew I wouldn't let you explode on OtakuBoards, so you decided to take your hostile-little-self to Kevin's boards and badmouth OB at every opportunity. The reason I attempted to defend the actions of OtakuBoards was because I didn't think it was fair for people to give any credence to your silly accusations. I happen to be Kevin's friend. And I will visit his boards if I want to. If he doesn't want me there, he can tell me that himself -- he doesn't need some angry little halfwit to do it for him. I'm only replying to this point by point because I'm so sick of your crap. It's really getting tiring. You are even worse than Gendo was. You don't get your way, and you kick and scream and hold you breath 'till someone comes along and pleases you. Not anymore. I'm not going to keep giving in to your selfishness and lack of regard for others. Now I'm going to ban you from OtakuBoards. That will give you some time to prepare your lovely little lawsuit for us. Adam and I greatly look forward to it.
 17.
Originally posted by Omniroth It's as simple as this. The system is corrupted. George Washington would kill himself if he saw how his "Independant and Free" country has turned out. It's those darn republicans as well as George Ryan. (Notice how most senators, and the presidents name begins with George all of a sudden?)
I don't know how that's really relevant. Investigation of websites is necessary so that things like child pornography or "how to make a pipe bomb" type sites aren't publicly displayed. I'd rather have someone monitoring nasty content as opposed to the opposite -- people putting up illegal stuff and getting away with it.
 18.
Originally posted by wrist cutter Nowhere did I say "full-blown everywhere"... I DID call it a fad and it is one, but not particularly among high school students, mainly elementary kids. In high school it's rare to see many anime fans, but it's so much more common now than ever. I think you're all lucky to be interested in anime in a time where it's accepted on a broader scale.
I can't really comment on America specifically. But when I was in high school, I noticed that anime was actually pretty widely accepted. I often overheard people talking about anime on DVD and such...and even many entertainment magazines here have small sections discussing anime of some nature. So I'm certainly not an expert on it, but I've definitely noticed that it's become more prominent recently...although in this country, anime has been pretty "mainsteam" for many years...probably because of our close relationship with Japan.
 19. At this point in time, having horrible games is simply unacceptable. If developers haven't unlocked the PS2's abilities yet, they probably never will. At this point, developers should be comfortable with the hardware. Having said that, you have to look at things as a whole. You must look at the ratio of mediocre titles compared to the good titles. And in truth, the console with the highest game library (PS2) is bound, by default, to have the biggest bad:good game ratio. The more quantity you have, the more poor-quality titles will slip through. It's as simple as that. Does that make the PS2 bad? Of course not. If you can find games on the console that you like, then you've made a good investment. The same goes for any other console out there.
 20. Yeah, the backtracking element annoys me too...there are a few small things in the RE series which have really never changed. But if those things changed, the game would feel much different. Still, I like the whole concept of having limited inventory space...and relatively limited ammo/weaponry. They give you just enough, so that there will be times where you run out for just a moment...or you are close to running out...and it really increases the tension level. At first I hated that part of it (especially in RE3, where you go through ammo so quick, thanks to Nemesis). But after a while, I realized why they'd done it...and I kind of came to respect/enjoy it. :)
 21. You can also buy special "memory cards" which contain overrides and multi-region capabilities. But as I always, I wouldn't recommend it. You never know if one of these devices will screw up a save game...or ruin your PS2. Your best bet is to BUY games and not have them copied -- afterall, copying games is the same as theft. I don't like it at all.
 22.
Originally posted by cloricus James how could the governments of the world monitor over 6 billion billion web pages? (That figure might not be rite but you get the idea. And that?s au billion)
-_- Because, quite simply, they can't. lol Government agencies do not monitor every single website. Rather, they randomly monitor certain numbers/groups of sites. So of course, if you're doing something illegal, you may operate for years without any authorities knowing. Or, you might be unlucky enough to be discovered. Simple as that.
 23.
Originally posted by wrist cutter And I also can't believe you're building a lawsuit against O3. Are you desperate for money or do you just have nothing to do? Or perhaps you have some personal conflict with someone who works there. Any of the choices are pretty ridiculous.
Yes, exactly. Just what I've been saying. This little peronsal thing has blown way out of proportion. It's getting just plain stupid at the moment. I'm pretty patient though. So I'm going to hope that kuja can see how foolish it is and amend his behavior accordingly. Anyway, about this thing in general...people must realize that the Government does infact monitor web sites on a constant basis, no matter how small they are. If you're breaking a law (ie: you have a porn site which has no age verification or you are offering ROMs for download), then it's most likely that you will be shut down. The only reason this is ridiculous is because the site has been inactive for a great amount of time. If this letter sent to Adam is indeed true, then it's a Government slip-up and not ours. Of course, it could be a hoax. I have my doubts that anyone would be insane enough to send an actual letter from Washington to Adam...of course, there are some on this board who never cease to surprise me. lol
 24. Just to note: any ".com" site is classed as commercial. And thus, that site needs to abide by relevant laws. The only real issue here is that pokecheats is inactive and has been for a long time. Other than that, the authorities who monitor websites do this as their job. :)
 25. Ahh, is it too late to join? Hm, I'll add a profile anyway, just incase. There are quite a few Star Wars RPGs popping up recently and I'm personally really excited about SWII...so I think I'll give it a go. :) Name: Largo Sung Age: 20 Race: Human (inhabitant of Naboo) Weapon: 1x Security Volunteer Blaster, 1x Lightdagger (similar to lightsabre but smaller/lighter) Height: 6'1" Bio: Largo is the Governor of Naboo (working under the Queen).
