Wow...I knew I'd picked some good RPers...but not this good! I have a feeling this will be a really memorable story. :) Ralvenar entered Zain's house and removed his coat, hanging it carefully on the back of the door. Sitting by the fireplace was Lymous, who was busy polishing his sword. He seemingly hadn't even noticed Ralvenar, nor his two wolves. Ralvenar turned to Zain. Ralvenar: I'm sorry to burst in so suddenly...my wolves need food and shelter. Do you have anything that they can eat? Zain: Sure...you'll find some salted meat in the coolgardie safe over there... Ralvenar: Thank you. Ralvenar made his way over to the safe and removed his gloves. He sat them down neatly on the kitchen counter. The two wolves at his feet were panting hungrily and watching his every move. He removed several steaks from the safe and lay them on a large plate, which he'd taken from an above cupboard. He lay the plate on the floor and within seconds, the wolves were swallowing down the juicy steak. Ralvenar sat down in an armchair by the fireplace. He glanced at Lymous and then looked back at Zain. He leaned forward and warmed his hands by the fire. Ralvenar: So, who are you? Lymous: My name's Lymous. And you? Ralvenar: I'm Ralvenar. Nice to meet you. Are you helping Zain too? Lymous: You could say that. Whatever is causing this rain...well, surely it's gonna need more than one man to stop it. Ralvenar: True, true. Zain pulled up another chair and sat down near the others. He took an apple from the table and began eating it. Zain: Yeah, this rain is making things difficult. The Queen's messenger looked like a sponge...he was totally soaked. Ralvenar: Did the Queen send Shiek? Zain: No, she sent Mahl...he's a wizard who resides in the Temple of Time. Ralvenar: Oh yes, of course... Lymous: Why did she want you, Zain? Zain: I've worked for her before...nothing major though. Lymous: Heh, yeah. We've always relied on Link to save our skins...but he's a little older than us now. Not in his prime anymore. Zain: Link has done enough, I think. He's saved our land time and time again...the least we can do is put in some effort for the Queen ourselves. Lymous & Ralvenar: Agreed. Zain removed Zelda's letter from his pocket once more and looked over it. The letter had said that the Queen, along with various other tribal and business leaders, would be holding a meeting in the Royal Palace in only two days from now. Zain knew that the Queen wanted him to attend the meeting. If any conclusion were reached about the monsoon, he and his fellowship would surely be ordered to take action. But there were things to do before the meeting. Zain was running out of supplies -- his safe was nearly empty and his cupboards were slowly becoming bare. Whilst Zain had been reflecting on the day's events, Ralvenar and Lymous had been getting to know each other. Zain looked up and noticed Ralvenar showing Lymous a few of his magic tricks. One trick was more conventional (it consisted of Ralvenar taking a rupee from Lymous' ear), while the second included Ralvenar changing the colors of his wolves' fur. Zain stood up and began to pack a small pouch with various supplies. Zain: You two...we're going to need supplies before we head to the meeting. I only have a few things to take with me...and I'm going to need to purchase more arrows and whatnot from the Hyrule Market. Ralvenar: Indeed. I need to purchase a couple of potion recipes from a friend in Kakariko Village... Zain: Okay, well...I guess we should head there first. We'll wait for Mahl to wake up...he's in the guest room. Once he's rested, I'll give him some food for his journey back to the Temple of Time. Then we can be on our way. Lymous: Sounds like a plan...

I love storms myself...they make me feel cosy (in a life threatening kind of way, lol). I hate spiders...yet I love snakes. I can never understand people who are afraid of snakes. I remember going to an open day at my mother's old high school...we went into the science lab and they had all sorts of creatures in enclosures there. One of the teachers had a red and black carpet snake, which he handed to me. It was really cool...and it felt really weird too...it was a kind of nice feeling (now I know why exotic dancers use snakes :drunk: ). However, my mum was terrified...she refused to go anywhere near me while I was holding it. lol Other than that...I'm a little bit wary of swimming at the beach. And like Justin, I get freaked out by water which isn't see-through... I remember walking through the water at a beach once and I couldn't really see the bottom (because it was late afternoon and kinda dark)...and my feet kept touching weird plants and stuff like that...it was very freaky. lol

Note: Those who have already signed up and been accepted are allowed to participate. Others may read, but not participate. Thank you. :) Hyrule Field was barely visible through the heavy blanket of rain. The trail leading from the gates of Hyrule Castle was muddied and slippery. Every man, woman and child in the land was surely sitting in their home by their warm fire, sipping warm milk and sharing age old stories with each other. Despite this circumstance, a lone figure on horseback was making his way across the Hyrule Castle drawbridge. And despite the weather, the two drawbridge guards didn't flinch. They kept to their duties, having been trained in far worse conditions. The figure on horseback wore a dark cloak and hood, which completely covered his body. Even his hands, which were gripping the reigns of the horse tightly, were covered with grey leather gloves. The only distinguishing mark was a small eye embroidered on the back of each glove. Even the man's horse seemed oblivious to the downpour. Its head leaned forward in a determined sort of way, as its dark hooves galloped through the thick mud. The man on horseback made his way along the muddy trail. Every now and then, he would crouch down a little more and pull his hood down further, in an attempt to shield himself from the oncoming rain. After what seemed like an eternity, the man on horseback arrived at the edge of Lake Hylia. He lifted his hood just a little and surveyed the territory. There were several huts clustered around the western edge of the lake. The man reached a single gloved hand into the inner pocket of his cloak and pulled out a small map. The map contained the names of each house and its occupants, as well as their location relative to the lake. He examined the map closely. And finally, he saw the house. He looked up at the cluster of houses by the lake and saw it there -- an ordinary looking house with a brown thatched roof and a small rose garden infront. This was the place. The man on horseback rode his horse closer to the house with the brown thatched roof and when he finally arrived, he stepped down from the horse and approached the front door. There was nothing particularly unique about the front door, except for the small brass knocker on the front. It featured a small engraving, which looked very much like the sacred Triforce. He took the knocker and tapped on the door three times. He could hear movement coming from inside and finally, the door swung open, revealing a tall man with long, black hair. Zain: Hello, who are you? The man stood still for just a moment and then he slowly removed his dark hood. Zain examined the man's face. The man had a long white beard and was almost totally bald. He gave a weak smile. Man: Is your name Zain? Zain: Yes...who are you? Mahl: My name is Mahl. I come from the Temple of Time, seeking an audience with you. Zain: Oh...please, come inside... Zain stepped to one side. Mahl nodded and walked inside the house. He sat down on a wooden chair by Zain's fireplace. He removed his soaking wet robes and hung them over the arm of the chair. Underneath the robes, Mahl wore what looked like a white and gold uniform. Yet another set of robes, these were the robes of those who's job it was to defend and operate the Temple of Time. Mahl reached into his pocket and produced a small piece of paper. He handed it to Zain. Zain looked over it -- it was a letter from the Queen. It read: "Dear Zain, I first want to thank you for all your hard work over the past several months. You have been an invaluable defender of the Hyrulian Monarchy. And you have seen us through many perils. But now I write to you under curious circumstances. For the last two weeks, we have seen nothing but heavy rain in Hyrule. Farmers are coming to my Court and complaining that their crops are being flooded and that they aren't able to go outside to care for their livestock. I am unsure how to deal with these many complaints. It appears that even the weather is not on my side lately. But this is not my only concern. I received a letter from the King of the Zoras only yesterday. In it, the King informed me that the Zora River was poisoned. He asked for my assistance in catching the culprit. I am hoping that I can call upon your services once again in this time of need. I very much hope that you will join me at Hyrule Castle in two days time to discuss the matter. You may bring friends to assist you in your quest if you need to. Thank you for your constant attention and concern. Yours sincerely, Queen Zelda of Hyrule" Zain looked at the old man sitting on the chair. He put the letter down on his kitchen counter and looked at the wall for a moment, without saying a word. Mahl: So? Are you going to attend this summit that the Queen is planning on? Zain: I'm not sure... Mahl: I expect everyone to be there...the various Sages, the King of the Zoras...and maybe even a representative from Gerudo Valley. And of course, the Queen herself. Everyone is having problems lately... Zain: Yes, that's for sure. Why does she think I can fix the problem? Mahl: You have experience in these matters, Zain. The Queen trusts you. She did say that you could bring assistance if necessary... Zain: Yes...I might have to. I know of some old friends who could help. Mahl: Excellent. Zain: But I didn't say yes just yet... Mahl: :( Zain: I'll think about it, okay? Mahl: Alright. But please be quick about it. The Queen needs you. Zain: Yeah...okay. Thanks for coming all this way under such conditions. Mahl: Anything for the Queen. Zain: Heh, yeah. Do you want to stay here until the weather is more favourable? You look tired... Mahl: The weather hasn't been favourable for a week...no reason for it to start cooperating now. I might as well go. Zain: At least rest here for a few hours. The return journey could be dangerous for you. Mahl: Yes...thank you. I think I will rest here and gather my strength. May I dry my robes near your fire? Zain: Sure. Mahl: Thank you. Mahl smiled and stood up with some difficulty. He lay his robes by the fire and made his way through the doorway into the guest room. Zain looked out the window. He saw a nearby farmer attempting to herd sheep from one paddock to another. This was proving extremely difficult, as several sheep were being swept away by the flash flooding at the same time. It would normally have been a somewhat humerous situation, but Zain felt bad for the farmer. He knew that it would take him months to make up for those two lost sheep...

We've had this topic a billion times before...but I'll allow it, as we haven't had one in a while... I live in Melbourne, Australia...the "world's most liveable city". Melbourne is also the capital of Victoria and is the second largest city in the country (Sydney being the largest). When Australia was first federated, Melbourne was the national capital (the Parliament building is still here)...but in 1927, Canberra became our national capital. Melbourne and Sydney were originally debating which city should be the capital...and so it was decided that a new city would be built exactly halfway between the two...and act as the capital. So the story of Canberra is pretty unique...it's a very symbolic city...and considering that construction began in the 1920's, it's also a very new and modern city. From high above, the circular roads of Canberra form a geometric shape (though I forget exactly what that shape is lol). So there you have it...a little Australian history lesson for you...I must be bored...

Then we'll see how much you like it. :p Translation: That was Forte's last warning. As for the RPGs...I do agree that lately, quality has gone down the toilet. I'm not the best RPer and I would only consider myself average (it's up to others to judge how good/bad I am)...but I miss RPGs which have a lot of thought in their plot and characters. The RPGs are one of the best things about OtakuBoards...and it would be great to see people really putting thought in when starting new ones. I'm giving complete permission to Flash, Rico and Warlock to get a little more tough with poorly performing RPGs. That is, RPGs which have a sign up thread...which get about two members...and which run for about one page and then stop. Those can be deleted altogether. For newbies...I recommend that you wait before you post/sign up. It would be a good idea to spend some time reading others RPGs...so that you may get a feel for what they are offering.
Originally posted by ~Gohans Gurl~ James do u mean that he was childish or the bully was childish or both? ~GG~
Both. Suicide just isn't the answer. I'm not going to beat up on anyone who has already suicided...because their friends and family are already having a hard enough time. But nevertheless, suicide is very selfish. And people who feel depressed should at least make the effort, for the sake of their friends/family, to get some assistance. So many kids today are turning to suicide. And it's such a shame...where did people forget to talk to their parents and friends? It's just really sad and pointless. The bully was also pretty childish. This is the kind of thing bullying leads to -- even if you say something which you think is only minor to another kid...you don't know what internal problems that kid has. I mean, imagine some kid who goes home each night only to be beaten by a drunken father or mother...and then they have to come to school and face some moronic bully, who only makes them feel worse about themself. At the very least, kids in that situation should feel safe and loved at school... School should be a place where kids are protected from harm...where they can learn and be with their friends without fear of being persecuted or attacked or whatever... I hate it when I go to my little brother's school and I see some bully picking on a kid smaller than him...I always step in when I see it...I would hate for the kid being bullied to have to face an even harder life. It's just unacceptable. And Spikey...give me a break. I mean, I know your post had a good intention...but please lol...the best thing to do in a situation like this is to try and find ways of dealing with it and hopefully preventing it. Let's not get ridiculously overboard. Anyway, I'm rambling too much now...
Originally posted by Megabakin Fight a huge raging fire with a huge controlled fire? I think if we did that, this board would get clogged badly.
