1. Pave-Low, you are one of the few members we have had recently that has not only accepted our site's rules without hesitation, but who has actually advised other members not to spam (as I've seen you do in some other threads). I want you to know that I greatly value the opinions of members on this site. And I try to do everything I can to make sure that the staff are dealing with situations in the right way. Let me begin by saying that I presume you're primarily talking about Transtic Nerve. I will say that I sometimes dissapprove of what Transtic says publically in General Discussion. But I think that most members on this board don't complain about him because they know what he is like. I believe that he closed that Witchcraft thread because he didn't want it to end up becoming a religious debate. Several threads of that nature have appeared on this site in the past, and have invariably caused headaches for all involved. However, I personally agree that Transtic Nerve's comments were not particularly appropriate at the time. It would have been better to state why the topic was closed and leave it at that. 99% of the time, Transtic Nerve is a great staff member. And he has many friends on these boards. I'm not saying you have to like him, but I guess I am saying that we are not all on a power trip...and that if you have any concerns about staff, you (as well as anyone else) are more than welcome to speak to me about it. I always do my best to be fair to everyone. But as you can imagine, it's difficult for me to please over 1000 people 100% of the time.
 2.
Originally posted by Akito Fun Mod? Hell Yeah! I was practically the only laid back MOD on here! Until TN and Kuja became MOD's. Hehe, those were the good ol days, when I warned that stupid noob not to post in GD about the dating game, then the loser did, and i warned him yet again, but he kept doing it, then he made himself a imaginary GF, and uhh, did things to himself that he shouldn't have, and then complained about me, made me loose my MOD position, I hunted him down, and now he's at the bottom of some river. Hehe, when u piss Gendo off, u aren't gonna be seein much afterwards. Cept I left some of u alive, specially Safer, couldn't do anything unless I wanted Interpool after me, again.
Actually, you were de-modded because of unacceptable behavior. As I'm sure you know, flaming and such are never the way to solve problems. And we were quite prepared to let you stay at the boards, but you decided to throw a tantrum when you didn't get your way. So make sure you remember what really happened. ;)
 3. Noryko: Actually, N-Sider.com posted the full list of secret characters a few days ago...but Nintendo of America insisted that we pull the list down (because it was 100% true). I'll try and find the list again and put all the names here.
 4. Stardust, you don't really seem to understand. People don't have a gripe with you directly. But the newspaper was a good idea when it started...I've always believed that. However, when we started seeing topic after topic after topic...constant, immature bickering...and all the other junk, it became too much. So the staff collectively decided that it shouldn't continue. Now if you are going to go off in a huff because of the newspaper, then that is truly not the way to deal with things.
 5. Stardust, at first your paper was fine. I was quite prepared to put up with it. But you haven't updated in ages, you and your staff continually disagree and fight...and nothing ever seems to get done. If you'd calmly sorted out your problems and continued with the paper, I'm sure nobody would have minded. But all the staff have told me that they want the paper business to stop...and many members appear to agree. Perhaps it can be put up again in the future, but we'll see how it goes.
 6. Ahhh yes, I meant Kirby...not Jigglypuff. Euh...
 7. 1. If you were dropped right in the middle of Afghanistan during a battle, what would you do?? I have absolutely no idea. I'd probably head to a major city to escape the Taliban. 2. What do you think is worse and why?? A berserk EVA or VX (the most strongest nerve gas)?? VX, if I didn't have a gas mask. At least with a beserk EVA unit, I could try to hide or something. 3. What is hell to you?? (i.e. my lunch table) Intolerance/ignorance/stupidity are hell to me. But if you're asking about a place...hmm...I have no idea. I'll have to get back to you on that one. 4. Would you rather have a Communistic or Anarchism gov't?? If a government is er..."Anarchism", then it's not a government. lol. So I'd take a Communicstic government instead. 5. Do you think the legal drinking age should be lowered?? ( I dunno about other countries but you can answer this if you want to) In Australia, the legal drinking age is 18. You can do anything at 18; enter nightclubs, bars etc. So if it's not 18 in America, it should be ;) 6. Who's worse?? Bin Laden or Tim McVeigh (ah, I dont care if he's already dead) bin Laden. Simply because he killed more people and has trained thousands upon thousands to do the same. At least there's only one Tim McVeigh. 7. If you were forced to join the military, would you injure yourself, skip town, or go right ahead and sign up?? I'm not sure. I think I would join. But I would only want to join if my own country was being attacked. I don't know if I'd be so happy about dying for another country. 8. If you are (not that I'm saying you're in it) in the black market business, what do you think is the easiest thing to sell?? Probably pirated games. Heaps of people sell those. 9. Do lead a good life (and I don't really need a reason)??? Yeah, I think so. I am still at that transitional phase between high school and the real world, but I'm starting to cross over. lol. So yeah, I think I'm happy with my life. :) 10. (Let's see on how many greedy people are here) If $1 billion landed right in front of your house and you had to give half of it tp charity, would you give it or take it and move to somewhere where you can spend it like crazy??? If $1 billion landed infront of my house...I wouldn't give anything to charity. I would instead use $500 million to set up my OWN charity. That way, I could make sure that the money was going where I wanted and that I'm helping people who are truly in need. The other $500 million would be divided up between myself and my family and friends. :)
 8.
Originally posted by NorykoAngelcry For Christmas this year, I think I want a high definition progressive scan T.V. . . . it will allow Super Smash Brothers: Melee to be watched at a much higher resolution. . . LOL, and yes, that is the MAIN reason why =) I would also like a nice surround sound Dolby Pro Logic 2 reciever(not even sure if that is what it is or not. . *shrug*) but both of the later things, I can find for a fair price out there. . =) We will have to see then, right?
Just so you know, a HDTV won't actually make your games run at higher resolution. They'll still run at 640x480 (maximum resolution for a normal TV). Rather, progressive scan means that each frame is displayed wholly...rather than displaying only the top or bottom half of the frame (which is done on normal TVs). The difference is mainly in animation -- the animation/framerate will look much nicer on a TV with progressive scan enabled. Also, you won't be able to just plug it in. You'll need an S-Video cable to be able to play in progressive scan mode. As for Pro Logic 2, a normal stereo system will work with Pro Logic 2. Even though it's stereo, PL2 can still work to some extent. Although currently, only Rogue Leader has PL2 capability (as I'm sure you already know). However, if you want the full Pro Logic 2 experience, you can purchase relatively cheap Pro Logic-enabled decoders which won't necessarily decode 5:1 digital, but will still decode Pro Logic 2. Most of the latest sound systems can decode Pro Logic 2. Hope that helps you out a little. :)
 9. I'm really looking forward to Super Smash Brothers Melee. I haven't played SSB on N64 in a while...all this talk has made me want to play it again :) My favourite character...hmm...I tend to prefer using either Pikachu or Jigglypuff.
 10.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve I'd own Gackt ofcourse :)
Heh, I saw that one coming. :) Hm, I'd own Shigeru Miyamoto. I'd get him to sign everything that I own...'cuz I bet that nobody else has had anything signed by God. Shigeru Miyamoto = God Shigeru Miyamoto is my God, Nintendo is my religion. lol
 11. I'm definitely an oldschool gamer. :) Long live Game & Watch! lol.
 12.
Originally posted by Sephiroth the GC was overshadowed bu the x-box, that is why it did not sell as well as it should have, so you may still be able to get your hands on one since there is bound to be some left in stock....
In terms of marketing, yeah it was. But I wouldn't completely agree with your post. Nintendo released a significantly larger stock of GameCubes than Microsoft did with Xbox. And yet, in many stores, GameCube was sold out...but Xbox's were plentiful. I am greatly anticipating the launch sales figures. I hope I can find some sort of accurate report within the next few days.
 13. Within minutes, Makuhara police are on the scene... Cop1: What's this? Cop2: Looks like some kind of magic shop, sir... Cop1: Magic shop, eh? Where's the owner? Cop2: I don't know sir...it looks like the store's been robbed. Cop1: Heh, then I guess our work has pretty much been done for us... Cop2: Yeah... Cop1: Okay, let's get outta here. I don't have time to waste on something like this. We'll let someone else deal with it... The two cops laugh and walk away from the scene. The pack still laying on the sidewalk next to the abandoned magic shop...
Originally posted by Pirate Don't talk about me like that!:bawl:you hurt my feelings!waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :bawl:
-_- Please read the rules above. Make sure that your posts are coherant as well. I sincerely hope that this is not the type of post that we can come to expect from you (and I assume not, as the others I've read have been fine).
 15. That's really cool...sounds like fun. I always preorder my systems (unless I get them a month or two after launch) so that I do'nt have to camp out. But I remember the night I bought my N64...on the night before launch. I went to the store at about 11pm (they were selling their preorders that evening) and there was a HUGE crowd both in and around the store. It was really exciting. And preordering is so worth it -- I walked away with everything that I had ordered. The others were left to fight over the scraps lol.
 16.
Originally posted by NorykoAngelcry WOOHOO!!!!! I got my GAMECUBE!!! At 2:30 am, I camped outside of Target and waited for 8:00am to come. Finally it did. . and I was first in line with my good friend Steve, both there to get one!! *Does the happy dance* They didn't have Extreme G3, but I got Madden, Star Wars!!!, and Luigi's Mansion. I am soooooo excited. . going to play now, while Steve hooks it up. He is giving me first dibs, since I have been waiting the longest - what a great friend!! anyways. . even though I have not been posting much lately, I will now be posting even less, as I will be sucked into non-existance by my new GAMECUBE!! WOOHOO!! (Post your other morning experiences here) ^_^ Will post more about my day later, kk, bye~
Lucky you! :) I'm jealous -- I won't be buying a GameCube until March. :( I hope you have fun with your GameCube. Be sure to tell us all what you think of your new games :)
 17.
Originally posted by Surpreme Kai GameCube's games are like childish and remakes of the Nintendo64.
That's completely untrue. Apart from games such as Yoshi's Story or Kirby, Nintendo, as a general rule, creates games which appeal to "all ages". Games don't have to have politics or violence in them to make them suitable for mature audiences. Nintendo has consistently provided the highest levels of innovation and creativity in the gaming industry, bar none. Also, I think it's unfair for you to say that they're remakes of N64 titles. Luigi's Mansion is nothing like Mario 64. I challenge you to show me where/how the game is a "remake" of another game. Same goes for Super Monkey Ball and Pikmin. Which of these games is a remake? Neither. They're both totally different styles of games. (Granted, SMB isn't a Nintendo title, yet it is exclusive to GameCube). In my view, if you bought an Xbox in preference to a GameCube (and never bought a GameCube), you are really going to be wishing you hadn't in a year's time. Mario Sunshine, Pikmin, Animal Forest +, the entire Resident Evil series (including a totally remade RE1), Star Fox Adventures, Perfect Dark Zero, Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness...the list goes on and on. If I were an Xbox owner, I'd be jealous. :) (Of course, if you can afford it, get both. But do'nt use that "rehash" or "mature" argument. It's futile.)
 18. When we ban people, we tend to use an IP ban anyway. So if your brother were banned, you would most likely be automatically banned by default. Also, we have no way to prove that two people are using the same IP. Therefore, when we ban someone with their IP, we are forced to stick to that IP, even if it means that someone else is banned who might be in their family or something. Otherwise it just becomes too difficult to distinguish who is who etc...
 19. Prologue The world of Oceana is rapidly changing. The time-honoured traditions of the past are dissappearing and people are moving away from towns and villages in droves. They are all moving to the world's capital, Makuhara, a city which was once filled with old-world architecture and magic shops. A city where magic and the practice of magic flourished. However, in recent years, things have changed in the capital. Large corporations have formed and have brought with them significant change -- glass & concrete skyscrapers which reach high above the clouds, rampant air and water pollution and government corruption. The corporations formed a cartel, a body which connects the major polluting companies and which virtually runs the entire city, a city with a population of more than 10 million. The cartel's director, Dr. Nomura, has recently been "elected" to the city's government -- corruption has made him Mayor of Makuhara. His first order of business was to ban the practice, sale and even the mere mention of magic. Magic shop owners were arrested, shops were closed down (and in some cases, vandalized and destroyed) and those found practicing magic have been either arrested or secretly murdered by government agents. The city's change is in direct contrast with the rest of Oceana, a planet with only one single, large continent. Other villages, towns and cities on the continent practice magic freely and have not yet succumbed to the technology-and-greed driven power of the "Makuhara Cartel". But time is running out. The Cartel's influence is growing, its power is spreading and an even more sinister force is just waiting to unleash its fury on the world of Oceana... Start A small boy awakens in the middle of the night. His village is hundreds of miles from the city of Makuhara, yet he feels uneasy. He is too young to understand the ways of the world; he is perhaps only 12 or 13 years old. Yet every night, he dreams of terrible events: friends and family dying, villages in flames and dark shadows creeping through the streets...hungry for the innocent and strengthened by chaos and violence. The boy sits up in bed. He looks out his window and watches the grass sweep back and forth in the gentle breeze. The small fireflies chase each other in and out of the blades of grass -- totally oblivious to any danger. The boy pushes the window open and leans against the ledge... Boy: I wish I could sleep. What's wrong with me? I'm tired of all these dark dreams... The boy hears footsteps from outside his bedroom door, yet he doesn't turn his attention away from the glowing fireflies outside. The door opens and his mother peeks her head around the door... Mother: Jiro, honey...is everything alright? Jiro continues to stare at the fireflies... Jiro: Yeah...I just can't sleep. That's all. Mother: Are you okay? Do you want some warm milk? Jiro: No thanks. I'll be fine...I'll try to get back to sleep. Mother: Okay honey. Goodnight. Jiro: 'night ma. Jiro's mother closes the door quietly and he hears her blow out the kerosine lamp in the kitchen. He sighs quietly to himself and closes the windows. He slides down under the covers, and tries once again to sleep, having no knowledge that his dreams are infact premonitions of things to come and that he will play an integral role in the planet's future... (You guys can continue this however you like. I was thinking of having a quiet start, to set the scene. Just some more helpful info... Jiro is about the same age as the young Link in the Zelda series. The villages outside Makuhara are FFIX style in terms of architecture -- they have a fanatasy style. Whereas Makuhara is a mix of both -- the fantasy style buildings are mostly destroyed and crumbling...and are being rapidly replaced by modern structures (think FFVII style). I'd like to progress with this as more of a story/novel than a fighting RPG...but we'll see how it goes. I've never started an RPG before...so I hope this is okay. I just wanted to have a good intro to flesh things out and give you guys an idea of the kind of setting.)
 20.
Originally posted by Cecil Wouldn't it be cool if they made this game? I can just imagine it, it would have all the games of the original one plus Super Mario World Super Mario World 2: Yoshis Island Super Mario RPG, Super Mario 64, and as a bonus you could unlock the gameboy games. You could fit all of these on the GCN dvd I bet, or maybe not. Wasn't SM64 128 megs or something like that? If they would make this game it would rock.
Yeah, you could easily fit that all on a GameCube disc. Mario 64 was 8MB, compressed memory. So as you can see, Nintendo know what they're talking about when it comes to the memory area. And you can also see that you could easily fit all that stuff. And you know what would be great? Remember how in Mario All Stars on SNES, Nintendo slightly enhanced the graphics of the older games..? Imagine if they did that with the games you mentioned above. :) High-res textures in Mario 64, and higher polygon models with a little bump mapping and real time lighting here and there...an "upgraded" Mario 64 would be awesome :)
 21.
Originally posted by Sephiroth what do you mean, even I look better than you, I'm a natural pretty boy, lol.... oh, and by the way, Kuja is a transvestite, I have proof!
Hmm...well he does have a wallpaper of himself on his desktop. So there's something going on there... Kuja, I'm sorry, but as pretty as you are...you're not as nice looking as Sephiroth. There is something about the long, white hair...lol

 23.
Originally posted by Squashed Snail You should never hate your parents. They're the ones that brought you into this world. And you shouldn't call them whatever you did either.
I hate that argument. "I brought you into this world, so give me respect dammit! And a big gold necklace too!" That's rubbish. Respect is earned. Of course, I have an inherant respect for my own parents, but if they did something to me which was bad...then I would lose that respect. I expect them to earn my respect/trust like everyone else. Having said that...I think that a lot of kids say they hate their parents when their parents tell them that they can't have ice cream 'till they've eaten dinner lol...so it really depends why WH2 would hate his parents... By the way, WH2...I see the topic has been closed. Please refrain from swearing here...sure it's censored, but I urge you to read our forum rules so that you understand what's acceptable. 24.
Originally posted by Pave-Low Well I think that 499 is stupid. Im not paying that even if it does come with three games. I really want an Xbox, but I will wait untill they drop the price. As for the system alone I cant find anywhere that sales just the system. If someone can please tell me. I decided to day that I was just going to get a gamecube, so see, Microsoft has already screwed up their system.
You can't actually buy an Xbox without having it in a bundle I think (unless you're really lucky). This was part of Microsoft's launch strategy, to get as many pieces of software out there as possible. MS doesn't have a terribly huge number of consoles available, so it is forced into this kind of situation. You should be able to pick up a lone Xbox next month hopefully...that is, if you still want one after you play some of its god-awful games lol (apart from DoA3 and Halo, of course)
