Originally posted by BabyGirl BEH!!! Haha, James, you've worn off on me. I didn't say that word for a long long time...and two nights ago, I started saying all sorts of weird, ehhh, noises I guess. Beh, gah, bah...they've been in every post since Monday...chiiiiiii! :excited:
Oh man...you're using all my precious words! I say stuff like that all the time...geh, beh, buh, bluh, bah, guh, feh, fuh, pfft, puh, boh, foh ...etc. And I know it might sound insane to others, but I'm sure BabyGirl understands the context in which these words might be used lol -
Originally posted by BabyGirl I think that it's a good idea James. Sometimes I think I may get a bit *wenchy* (sorry, that's a substitue for a ruder word) because I feel that some posts are kind of ridiculous...I dunno really what I'm saying...some of you may understand it though...
I agree with you...and I know what you mean. In many cases, staff feel like they are restricted from complaining about a simply "dumb" post, because it doesn't really violate the rules directly. Afterall, as I think I've said before, I can't regulate against stupidity. However, I guess we will be leaning in that direction moreso in the future. By exercising tighter control of new membership, we can really focus on getting some good members here.
Originally posted by shibatku The PS2 has good graphics and can play dvd's but it should have some more add-ons like The Mp3 idea or stuff like that you can use a mouse on the PS2 for designing on Armored Core 2.
Yes, and they should include the ability to microwave food, walk your pet, perform open heart surgery and fix those annoys leaks on the roof of your house. The more features you add, the more you dilute the machine. Sony has paid a big price for adding the DVD movie functionality -- their games now compete with DVD movies. So essentially, their own products are open to strong competition from outside areas of the industry. This is something Sony didn't anticipate (which I find quite stupid).
Originally posted by Jeff "I'm not going back to AC" - if my point of message was to welcome you back, that's not it. and i don't care if you do come back. my point of this was to move on and how immature we are all acting, how stupid the whole thing is, but now i understand you feel the same way. "I'm not that type of person that comes back to spam or whatever. ", "Lady and Sledge may think I want to start something, thats simply not the case" - onizuka you pulled, that guessed me otherwise. and that bashing feeling in your livejournal thing just snapped me. "I dunno why this is still an issue" - because some people just don't get it. this was sort of directed at you, but this goes for everyone who still hasn't gotten over about it. for the past few days..after the banning, i feel more comfortable posting at ac. that goes for those two too. i didn't come here to stirr some crap like you guys try to pull..(going against admin etc). i didn't tell anyone about your livejournal entry, but i don't know how dubird joined here. i was planning to delete this last night cause i thought this could cause more trouble. but the answers you gave me were unexpected. total opposite of what i had in mind. you don't have to worry about me invading your livejournal. i'm already regretting for doing it. if this message seems more argueing and make excuse for what i'm doing with this post, i'm not . i'm just glad this thing is over.
You know Jeff...while I really believe that people should keep any non-OtakuBoards related stuff out of the boards, I'd like to mention something that I've been discussing with Adam. As I mentioned in a previous post, some forums are much more strict than we are. But that strictness is important, as it allows the staff of the boards to adequately filter new members...to keep good discussion going. I have been talking about this issue with Adam. We both agree that if we continue to allow low-quality posters to this site, it'll go down the toilet. Therefore, we are going to keep a closer watch on the quality of people's discussion. For those of you already signed up, don't worry -- 90% of you are completely fine. The other 10% might end up being removed, however. We are going to be more strenuously looking at new members and we will be removing new members who we feel do not contribute to the boards in a meaningful way. Sites which have a policy like this end up with the big benefit of having a close-knit community where crappy and meaningless topics are rare. We want to encourage a more mature, thoughtful audience to OtakuBoards.com. These changes may not be immediately visible. And if anyone gets banned (or a friend of theirs is banned), please don't approach Adam and I to complain. These boards are a privelidge to current members (and new ones alike) and we reserve the right to run them the way we see fit. I'm thinking that perhaps I should make this an announcement...but it's something which isn't going to be terribly obvious -- so it's probably not necessary. I just want people to be aware that we are closely watching what goes on. I would hope that older members will welcome this slight change in policy. It will ensure that we are able to maintain a high level of quality on our site for months and years to come.
Originally posted by Will2x thats not funny... :(
Hmm...in that quote, I thought that someone had edited my original post. If that had been the case, I would have hit the roof... So I'm presuming you put it there lol. I actually find it very funny that someone who is homophobic actually had a sexual encounter with another guy. That kind of follows my theory about homophobes -- that those who are homophobic are only that way because they are unsure about their own sexuality and thus, it hits them too close to home. *sigh* ...the way you said it in your original post...I thought you were actually making fun of yourself. Don't take it seriously -- that just makes you look more suspicious lol. -
Originally posted by Master O Beans Hey! ...nothin' wrong with right wing nuts dammit! :D Anyhoo, yesterday on campus - there was a a HUGE Anti-Abortion set-up in the middle of campus. They had big "WARNING: GENOCIDE PICTURES AHEAD" signs up like 100ft away...so I knew I was in for a treat... Anyhoo, They had these huge pictures, of aborted babies, first trimester too! some of them weren't any bigger than a quarter, but you could still tell exacty what it was...a human life. He then went into explaining part of the procedure...Here goes: The baby is almost completely removed from the "mothers' " body, it is taken out feet first, and they stop taking it out when they see the neck. Then then plundge a pair a "scissors" into the back of the "unborn" neck of the baby, and open them up (there's been reports of twitching and crying at this stage. believe it, or don't.). Then a "vaccum" is placed into the newly made whole in the back of the baby's neck...and their brains are sucked out. Well sheesh, who wouldn't wan't one?? Sounds like a laugh riot to me :D ...erm, perhaps by "laught riot" I mean "murder" ...I always get those terms mixed up...
You're completely missing the point here. Nobody is saying for a single moment that abortion is a good thing. We are merely saying that it is sometimes necessary. In cases where both mother and child may die through childbirth, or in cases where the child may end up being born with a terrible physical illness...these are times when abortion might be necessary. I do not support abortion just because the mother decides she doesn't want the baby -- that's irresponsible. But let's not confuse or cloud the issue -- nobody would say that the act of abortion is pleasant. Just the same as I would not watch open heart surgery and say "mmm yum!". lol The act is never nice -- but the results are sometimes necessary. By the way, I think that your description of an abortion is a little wrong. It sounds to me like something that was created to shock pro-choice people. In actuality, abortions are usually carried out using a mixture of chemicals which are flushed into the womb. The problem with this is that the womb lining can be slightly damaged, meaning that a woman who has an abortion may not be able to have a child in future -- in some cases. So in actuality, abortion is never usually like MOB's description. I've never heard of it done like that. Either way, it doesn't change the fact that it might sometimes be required in a bad situation.

Problems with entering (Admins please read)
Originally posted by Ice Dragon v2 To Admins and other otaku members. Last night, Forte and TN couldn't get on otaku last night. I not sure if their comp has accepted the new server, but they couldn't get on. As for me, I could get on (and if I couldn't I wouldn't be typing this now would I??) but I keep have to log in everytime I go on. I dunno on why Forte and TN couldn't on, but I think that someone could take this into consideration. Thank you for the cooperation.
If you wish to address the admin specifically, I advise you to use our site's PM functions, rather than clogging up the boards with posts such as this. However, I will respond just incase others have a similar problem. We have moved OtakuBoards to the new server, however, the domain will take time to transfer. This means that about 50% of traffic will infact be redirected to our old server, while the other 50% will see our new server. This problem is very minor and will soon be fixed. Also, you will notice a few small changes to the site in the coming days. Namely, we'll be changing our logo above and we will be adding quite a few new smilies for you to use. Just a few small things to make OtakuBoards.com better :) -
Originally posted by Single H Despite all the posts about not getting a ps2, finally I'm getting one by the end of this month. Now, what games would you recomend for me? I'm getting Devil May Cry, what else?
I would recommend Onimusha (much easier than Resident Evil, but just as fun). Then I'd recommend Gran Turismo 3 if you're into racing games -- mainly because it's so deep and long...it's a great challenge. I'd also recommend SSX. It's probably the best snowboarding game out there right now (apart from SSX: Tricky...whenever that comes out). I would not recommend The Bouncer. It was utter crap. Square should probably stick to RPG's...The Bouncer had terribly unbalanced gameplay and a 10 minute CG sequence every five seconds. It was VERY poor quality. I'd recommend Silent Hill 2, ICO, Twisted Metal: Black and Metal Gear Solid 2 (let's hope it isn't delayed AGAIN). So those are my suggestions. :)
Originally posted by RicoTranzrig Not the first time, no way for me anyway...the first time for someone should be very special 'cause you're giving away a part of you to someone you really love and it should be done in the most gentle way possible. But if the couple is willing and comfortable with each other...then yeah, I guess... Again, I think not...it'll probably be the psychological damage that'll hurt the child more than anything.
I agree. I think that sex for children is very damaging. Even for those mature enough to deal with sex, I still wouldn't personally condone sex until someone is at least 16/17 years of age. This is mainly because the maturity to deal with sex doesn't always mean that a younger person is prepared for the possible consequences (ie: sexual diseases or pregnancy). So I personally feel that people should wait until they're 16 or over before they start experimenting with sex. -

lol...well as I said, I hope we can get into some good discussions here. But yeah, this line of discussion should probably not go any further (unless someone makes a new topic about it). It's better to stick to the topic at hand...otherwise the topic kind of fizzles out.
Originally posted by AJ2K1 4 Life Transtic Nerve and Mystic(al?) Pan are having problems getting here. They keep getting that 'Wicked Fast' message for some reason.. So...why is this happeneing, and how to fix it?
I believe I can answer that. Basically, moving to a whole new server is a big job. At the moment, the files have been moved, but some will still be directed to our old server. It may take a day or two for things to settle. The domain has to essentially be "moved" so that it works for everyone. We are also in the process of making some minor modifications, including the adding of many more smilies for members to use in posts. So this may take a couple of days. We ask everyone to be patient, as we are working around the clock to make everything work properly. -

Yeah, congratulations to Adam for his hard work -- getting all the user files/information to the new server was an absolute pain in the butt. But Adam did a very good job. Now we can relax a little and focus on new things. ;)
Originally posted by Justin And lastly: I'm not saying all abortion is wrong. I'm saying it is wrong for a woman to **** a guy, knowing perfectly well the risks and consequences, and then abort the baby.
I agree 100%. I'm only saying that it might be necessary in some circumstances -- but not those where the woman has actually been irresponsible. I think it's great that we can debate a topic such as this. While it can stir passionate argument -- most people have been reasonably listening to others views without flaming them. This topic makes a welcome change from topics such as "favorite band" or "how many hours of sleep do u get?". Let's try and encourage intelligent discussion on our boards. Only then will we hope to make the boards a better place.
