1.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve My opinions are perfectly clear... Perhaps you should read them again and again.... perhaps they are too complex for you.... the comparison made is a metaphore.... The same people who argue pro life take it away for their own selfish greed. You hunt animals, to me thats wrong, you are killing! Humans are animals too! Just more developed. But to go on your logic, if I ate humans to keep myself alive would that make it right to walk up and shoot you? No... so don't use that BS reasoning... How the hell can you people not get it... ABORTION IS NOT MURDER BECAUSE YOU CAN'T KILL SOMETHING THAT ISN'T ALIVE! You state babies are the work of god.... and animals aren't? What kinda BS is that? Animals are just as much a work of God as you are.... BTW: babies are the work of sperm... unless you consider sperm to be god, then whatever. God doesn't implant babies... in fact I fail to see where god has any process in making a baby. Sperm gets in egg, process in egg makes baby grow, due to genetic or physical doings, a babies health may be changed.... I see no God in there... it's all the work of a human and the insides of a human. Babies are the works of Humans... Humans create Humans, just like animals create animals. And no, I don't read the bible for I do not believe a book written by HUMANS has anything to do with what God meant for it to be. I'd rather be an animal than a stupid human. At least animals can learn to coexist with each other. At least animals don't hate other animals. It seems to me by killing an animal you are killing something better than yourself. Animals have feelings to you know. If you killed my cat, I'd cry and weep over it. I consider my cats to be my family, My babies. They mean more to me than alot of humans do. It's not that I'm for abortion, it's that I simply can't understand your reasoning on "Abortion is Murder".... you all need to look up the damn word Murder in the dictionary. Murder: The act of killing Killing: The act of ending one's life Life: the act of living! Are first trimester fetus's living? NO! thus proove right there, Abortion is not murder... pick another word!
I agree with you, Transtic. This is obviously a very emotive issue for a lot of people. And some people have some seriously screwed up views on the subject. While I've argued for abortion, that's only because most of the criticism which has come against it here is in the form of some pretty crappy arguments. If a baby were to be aborted after the first trimester (when it is still in development and is not actually a living being), I would be far less supportive. So I am in a way, a fence sitter. While I don't totally support abortion in every form, I also understand that women must have the right to choose and that in some circumstances, abortion might be an option for them. But I'm relatively open on the subject. Just don't quote the bible and all that other stuff to me because if anything, it's only going to make me more pro-abortion lol. People need to come up with more reasonable arguments (as some have). But really, my opinion can go either way...it all depends on the specific circumstances that a woman finds herself in.

 3. Oh man...this is so incredibly stupid. I really don't see why he didn't use your AOL login to do some really nasty stuff... Well I guess I do see why. Just as you pointed out, it all comes down to stupidity. So I guess he's not the great genius he made himself out to be...and now, he has only made himself look more stupid than ever before (if that's possible).
 4.
Originally posted by Lady Macaiodh first of all, cassidy needs to go to social services right away & apply for government aid. she will be able to afford things then. secondly, as i said before, from the moment of conception there is prana running through the baby. that means it's alive. women do have the right to choose what happens to their body, but so does the baby. the baby never has a choice. also, i am sorry for what happened to cassidy. but she (& other rape victims who got pregnant) need to remember that their baby is a part of them. the same blood flows through their veins. surely that must mean something. an abortion is performed in the u.s. every twenty seconds. so there are alot of people having abortions for reasons other than rape. i went to a rally in d.c. once & they had this digital monitor to display how many abortions had been performed that day. every 20 seconds, the number went up. by the time it reached 8000, i was crying. & for all you people who condone abortion, just watch one being performed. it is the most disgusting thing you will ever see.
I don't think anyone thinks the act of abortion is good. But in many cases, the woman decides that she wants/needs one. If you are to argue that the baby (when it is merely a few cells in early development) is alive, then you could use the same argument to ban people from picking flowers (hurting the plant) or something of that nature. You can grandstand and rave on about how gross and disgusting it is as much as you want. But when you are the one who is pregnant, and when you can't handle it and you feel that abortion is the only way out -- you can then finally be in a position to think about the thousands of women who make that difficult decision every day. Until then, you are not in a position to dictate to women how they should and shouldn't use/abuse their bodies.
 5.
Originally posted by Master O Beans That's my point exactly, how do we know the other side, I don't think anyone can back up the otherside...except maybe James...but he's from Australia...and they do stuff weird over there...so he doesn't count...:D
Ohh you did not diss my beautiful country! lol But you're right though...I guess you can't really know the other side unless you've been there. And like with morningdew (did I get her name right? I forgot it lol), perhaps past experiences can leave you sour on love...
 6.
Originally posted by Sephiroth simpsons road rage is probably going to suck, like all past simpsons games....
I agree with you. It'll probably suck. So I'm not very concerned as to whether or not it appears on GameCube lol.
 7.
Originally posted by BabyGirl How do you know, if you've never experienced love? You're being so incredibly bias against love...can't you open your mind to something new and different? Or are you scared. If you're scared, it's understandable...but then for God's sake get outside of your fear and try something new. Stop living in the past... Ugh, sorry to be so blunt, but I'm just frustrated...
I agree with you. I don't think that anyone who has really experienced true love would deny it...or would say that it's not interesting.
 8.
Originally posted by Master O Beans ...and I want them to turn black.
Well, it's just not a black & white issue. It's full of complexity. That's why I'm unwilling to wash my hands of it and say "well they're gettin' what they deserve!". Hmm...I am amazed that this topic has received so many replies. This is probably Will2x's first non-inflammatory topic to have such success! lol.
 9.
Originally posted by Master O Beans Yeah, I don't think I want that now either. From what I've seen - it's not all it's cracked up to be. Ugh. :(
Then you haven't seen real love. :) It's more than it's cracked up to be. Infinitely more. :)
 10.
Originally posted by Master O Beans If it's so terrible...then why go through with it?
Exactly. Think about it. They obviously wouldn't go through it unless they felt it was absolutely necessary. Some women feel dirty and ashamed after being raped...some feel angry...some are even mentally disturbed. I personally feel that abortion after a certain stage is undesirable...but I do also realize that the woman has to choose whether or not she wants to give birth. I just really feel that you have to look at it from all sides to fully appreciate the issue -- there are a million shades of grey.
 11.
Originally posted by mornigndew Very interesting, but that is one of the situation I don't want to be in.
You don't want to be in love?
 12.
Originally posted by Master O Beans Oh- I'm quite serious.
Then your statements are even worse if they are meant seriously. I just hope you realize that most women only have abortions because they absolutely feel like they must -- it must be terrible to go through both physically and mentally.
 13.
Originally posted by mornigndew Then you must feel like floating on the air now. You seem to be a happy lover boy.
Yep, very true. :) I'm very lucky to be in this situation -- it's something I would wish for anyone and everyone to experience. :)
 14.
Originally posted by Master O Beans I guess I don't care anymore, when a girl/woman has an abortion, usually it does a lot of metal damage toward her, so that's revenge enough for me :)
That is incredibly nasty of you to say. Especially if the woman is forced to have an abortion based on the circumstances around her. I would feel sorry for any woman who has to have an abortion. I don't think it's a throw away decision that a woman makes -- it's a very deep and difficult decision. It's not a good idea to be so flippant about such a subject.
 15.
Originally posted by Master O Beans The fact that her body is all well and good...but if the father can't say what the mother can do to her body...then how can the mother say what the child can do? (that's not worded very well, but you should get the point - it's late. I'm tired) the point is, if you're mature enough to hoe yourself around...then surely you're mature enough to deal with the aftermath. PS - I understand there should be exceptions (rape, etc.) ...it's it obvious I'm against murder?
Yeah, you're right in a sense. If the pregnancy is a result of carelessness on the part of the mother, then yes...the mother should accept whatever consequences there are. Having said that, I would say that many cases of pregnancy aren't due to carelessness. So yes, it has to be on a case by case basis. However, I do not consider the abortion of a fetus to be murder. At least, not when the fetus is in the very early stages of development. During this time, it in itself would be considered potential life but not a living being. This last sentence is the argument which highly right-wing anti-abortion nuts use. "Potential life". Well if you're going to look at it that way, you might as well say that a man walking by a woman in the street is "potential life". I mean, how much do we split hairs? Regarding your first point, it doesn't matter. It is totally irrelevant as to whether or not the woman "hoes" herself around or not...or whether she is prepared/unprepared to have the child. At the end of the day, it's her body. Therefore, she must choose the outcome of the situation. It's her choice and hers alone. So ultimately, it really doesn't matter what anyone else says/thinks. The decision rests with her (even if she makes what we might consider the wrong decision).
 16.
Originally posted by Justin I guess I didn't mention: Irresponsible fathers are a personal pet-peave of mine. I don't support them in any way. I think they should be forced to do their job. It can't be done but, the world would be such a better place. I suppose, that if one were raped, then, one should have the right to choose. But, only is it were aborted as a fetus. I'm sorry, I have said too much about my opinions... -Justin
I agree with BabyGirl on this point. It is the absolute height of sexism for a man to presume to tell a woman what she can and can't do with her own body. If we're going to tell women whether or not to have abortions, why stop there? Why not force them to wear body-length robes and cover their faces like they are forced to do in Afghanistan under the Taliban. I have always been annoyed at men (particularly male politicians) who feel that they have the right to dictate what women should and shouldn't do in this regard. It's a very personal issue, but at the end of the day, it's the woman's body. Whether you or I or anyone else agrees with abortion is irrelevant -- she ultimately has the right to do what she wants with her own body. The same as I have the right to have 1000 piercings or something...people may not approve of it, but it's my body and my choice alone. Same deal.

 18. I presume that the MacDonald's/Burger King in America is a little different to the ones in Australia... Having said that, I like both. But I prefer Burger King. Their nuggest are the best I've ever had (the longish ones with the spicy stuff on the outside...) and their burgers are perfect! I'd eat BK alllll day everyday if I could...hehe
 19.
Originally posted by mornigndew Here is the series question about love. 1. What is love? 2. Do you believe Love conquer all? 3. Do you ever love someone? I'm not good at this, someone can make more good question about this topic.:D
1. Love makes you feel like you're floating on air. Time stands still, all your troubles dissolve away...and you're left with your lover. The person whom you know inside and out -- the person who knows you and who knows all your fears and weaknesses. Love is the point where a person's flaws become the things that make you love them even more. Love is when you can't breath without your lover...and when you're with them, nothing else matters. Love is not quantifiable. You can't measure it, you can't contain it...you can't reason with it. And you can never ever dictate to someone that love is wrong (take a note, Zanza). Love is never wrong. 2. Love is a powerful tool. Ultimately, love is probably the strongest single emotion that humans have...so yes, I think it does conquer all eventually. 3. I do. I am and I will always. Forever and ever. :)
 20.
Originally posted by Kristoff119 I was not saying that because a console can play DVDs it is better. I am saying that the games are better because the pregenerated scenes, like FMVs, are better.
Once again, prerendered scenes don't make the game play better. A game can be terrible to play, but can have pretty cutscenes. GameCube is capable of producing prerendered cutscenes (that is one benefit of its optical disc format). So in this sense, GameCube isn't left behind at all -- it can do everything that the other consoles can do when it comes to prerendering.
 21.
Originally posted by kuja first off we just out our x-box's in  and well it isnt all that, second dead or alive 3 is awesome and simpsons road rage is dumb but they are both "exclusive" to XB for the moment DOA may jump ship if xb sucks as much as it seems... anyway ill get the specs for you to check out later... and ill prove to you which is better
Simpsons Road Rage isn't exclusive to Xbox. It'll also be released on GameCube (and possibly PS2 in the near future). Dead or Alive 3 is only "exclusive" for a period of 3 months. At that point, Tecmo will be able to port the game to another console. Given that Dead or Alive 2 was supposed to be a Dreamcast "exclusive", yet it was then ported to PS2 as "DoA2: Hardcore", I think we can expect to see the same kind of shift here. As for specs, I wouldn't waste my time with them. Microsoft's specs are very unbalanced and inflated. They do not represent "real-world" scenarios.

It's okay to like one thing over another, but when you start abusing those who disagree with you, and when your opinion is based on baseless facts, your opinion becomes invalid. I'm not going to PM you, the discussion is fine where it is.
 23.
Originally posted by Master O Beans Yeah, I know, and I was talking about girls in general. if you sleep around a lot, you're a hoe. plain and simple. Why does playing DVDs make a console better? You really have no idea...DVDs do NOT make a game somehow better -- it's just a media format.
