Originally posted by Transtic Nerve o_O;;;;;; I don't.... even..... want.... to... know..... That is most certainly the wierdest thing you've ever posted James....
Yeah, well my family is a weird bunch. Although despite this morning's strange happenings...I've come out of it significantly better off. So I'm happy about that. :)

Yep, you read that correctly folks. I scored myself a $260 JAG watch today! Funny how it happened actually. At first, I got a phone call... James: Hello? Aunt: Hello, James? James: Yep. Aunt: Guess what?? James: Grandma's boyfriend got his combover caught in the airconditioner vent again? Aunt: No! I finally have a birthday present for you! James: You do? About time! My birthday was back in April, you took your sweet time about it! Aunt: Well yeah, I was spending all my income on getting my enormous moustache shaven o...oh err...never mind. James: Huh? Well umm...so...what did you get for me? Aunt: I got you a JAG watch! It's worth $260! James: Uh huh, is this like the time you assured the family you'd had your bikini line waxed...and when we went to the beach that day, you looked like a walking shrub? Aunt: Noo...I swear, I did get it waxed, there was just ahh...not enough wax in the salon... James: Eww...ok, I don't want to hear that...so...how did you come across this watch? Surely you'd never spend that kind of money on lil ol' me. Aunt: Oh, well...being a saleswoman, you get certain perks if you sell a lot of stuff, so of course, I sold a lot of stuff. And JAG sent me this watch for free. You can have it if you want it. James: Oh c'mon, the chances of you selling a product are about as the same as the chances of Osama bin Laden abandoning his weird camel fettish. Aunt: Okay...yeah you're right. This customer came in today, he was rather tall and buff looking. I notice that he was wearing an expensive watch. He kept talking about Sonic and mentioned that he was looking for another Dreamcast. He said that he'd broken his original Dreamcast in a fit of rage when New York University rejected his application... James: Oh! That sounds like a member from the boards... Aunt: Well it sure was a scary experience! When I told him that we are a whitegoods store, and don't sell anything but washing machines and dishwashers, he started to yell at me! James: Wow...what happened next? Aunt: He was yelling frantically...I couldn't really understand what he was saying...he mentioned something about having "connections" at something called "The Obwaku" and that if I didn't get him a Dreamcast immediately, he'd throw a rubbish bin at me and eat my first born son. James: You don't have a first born son! Aunt: Exactly! That made the experience even more freaky. James: So what did you do? Aunt: Well, I had to think quick. I ran to the storeroom while he was smashing washing machines in the store...and I took a white plastic bag and wrote "Dreamcast" on it. I then filled the bag up with bricks... James: Bricks? Why? Aunt: Well I was intending to hit him over the head with the bag when I got close enough... James: Ohh...so what happened? Aunt: Well, he took the bag...and he ate it! James: He ATE the bag of bricks?? Aunt: Yes!! When he realized that he'd been fooled, he started to get even more angry. So I braced myself for an attack...but it never came. Instead, he started walking toward the store entrance. I thought to myself "Thank God, he's leaving!". Just as he was about to exit, he turned around and yelled out.."I'M GONNA MAKE SURE THAT ADAM BANS U!!". I was shocked...I've never heard of this Adam character before. In any case, he dropped his watch on the floor as he left the building... James: I see. Well, thanks for the watch... Aunt: No problem. I won't be visiting you for a while though, I'm going to lay low for a while -- don't want that Adam guy "banning" me. Sounds painful. James: Err...sure thing. Bye Aunt: Bye. And there you have it. Amazing how a seemingly boring day can turn into a life or death experience, huh? Well, out of all of that confusion, I scored a neat watch. Cool stuff. :)

Great report, Stardust. Might encourage people to visit other forums... You know what? I think you should interview some of the moderators and stuff, or something like that. Maybe interview Adam :) That might make your report even more interesting.

Ugh please don't...you are potentially opening a huge can of worms here. Just imagine how GD would look... Poll: How large is your house key? Poll: How long is a piece of string? What color is ur hair? R u male or female? Do u like candy? Click here if u like cotton candy! Whos ur fav spice girl? What stuff do u luv? And so on and so forth. Let's hope to god that General Discussion doesn't head in that direction...lol
Originally posted by sia yea, i agree about the say word topics as being spam and all, but what about the padded room party? That was a fun thread.:( now SOMEONE closed it and now the boards aren't much fun anymore. This sux. :(
I didn't actually remove the Padded Room Party. However, I did actually look at it once... The entire thing should have been called "Spam Me Silly". I'm sorry, but it was really stupid. However, as I said, I didn't actually remove it myself. So obviously another staffer felt that it had to go. The G&S forum has gone for such a long time without actually being thoroughly checked. It became a place where people could easily (and unfairly) make their post counts soar. Other members on the board who don't post here do it the honest way -- by having discussions. Of course there is a place for games and stories, as long as it isn't spam.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Well if I were the President this probably would have never happened.... I am a pacifist... I don't condone any violence and I believe all nations can settle their deferences peacefully.... the first thing I probably would have done as President would be to settle Israel's and Palestine's diffrences... then either I would have gone out to the other Middle Eastern countries to help them out or I would have just left them to figure out there own themselves.... I do not believe the US should get in anyone's business cause if we wouldn't have to begin with, this "war" of ours wouldn't even be happening.... but whatever.... I'm not running this country.... And I wouldn't call it Justice... it's not Justice.... it's fine that they are doing this.... but to call it Justice isn't fine... it's war... thats what they need to call it.... and they need to keep it away from me.... i don't want anything to do with this.... I am Switzerland.... no one ever bothered Switzerland during WWI and II.... I should move there.... eh oh well.... BTW does anyone know where Switzerland stands in this "campaign" ? Are they neutral like always? See, they have the right idea.... they don't get involved in anyone's affairs and they have a good economy and no one dislikes them.... They are a perfect role-model for countries... but whatever... just don't like the idea of war... as one of my good friends put it "two wrongs, doesn't make a right".... by retailiating, killing innocent people, whether we want to or not, it's still wrong... I could fire a gun in school.... I didn't want to kill people but I may have.... does that make it right? If bullies pick on me, i should be able to retailiate right? so I should beat them in the face with bats... does that make it right? Any type of violence, whether initiated or retailiated is never right... We could retailiate with Military but what does that show? That we have the strongest military?.... and who didn't know this?.... What would show us stronger is if we could compromise without the uise of military... that would show people how strong we are mentally... it may not be the way to do things right if you just look at it... but in the long run, would you rather have 5000 Americans killed and stop Bin Laden through negotiation with the Taliban or whoever.... or have war break out that kills many many many more innocent people and not even harm Bin Laden and just piss him off more? I dunno about you, but despite the loss of many Americans, I'd rather have Option 1.... for the GOOD of the world in a whole and not selfish-ness toward my own country and self.... But reagardless of what i just said... I would REALLY go after BinLaden and thats all.... he doesn't care about those people... all he cares aboutis himself and the fact he thinks he's doing god's work.... nothing else.... you go after him... assinate him... why kill more innocent people when you are only looking for one guy! That would be justice..... nothing else is an acceptable for of "Justice"
Yeah, I agree with you. The problem is, we don't live in a dream world -- not all things can be solved with diplomacy, as much as we wish they could. We have tried diplomacy for years with various countries, and while military action should be an absolute last resort, diplomacy can only take us so far. Unfortunately, some countries (or specific groups within them) aren't interested in diplomacy. In these cases, we can only speak to them in a language they understand -- war. Yes, I agree also, this is war. But the war itself is justified -- it's a move in self defence. Obviously nobody wants to kill innocent people...and if that happens, it's equally as terrible. But ultimately, groups like the Taliban and Al-Qaeda can't be allowed to keep operating...and sometimes it is necessary to physically go in there and fix the problem.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve I know that.... and that may be the objective of this whole campain, but that is NOT Justice.... that is taking revenge.... that is war.... that is taking out their military bunkers to prevent them from attacking back.... that is all acts of war and war is never justified.... in any and every case.... If they want war, fine, but don't go around saying they are seeking Justice... It's false...
So what would you do? Nothing? The Taliban have no interest in handing over these criminals, nor do they care about enacting true justice. If we don't physically go and stop the threat, the threat itself will grow and we will all be in greater danger. Of course, war is never a good thing. But sometimes war is necessary to defend our own security. Did these people think of fairness when they attacked the US? Of course not. If we wanted to get "revenge", we could quite easily bomb the entire country to smithereens. But that's not what we're doing. We are being selective...we are providing aid to Afghan people...and we are making sure that the Taliban's tools of war are destroyed. This campaign is totally necessary -- I couldn't watch those towers come down and think that we were somehow going to sit back and let these extremist idiots win. Perhaps there is an element of revenge or "retaliation" in this campaign...but what else are we to do? We've tried for years and years to reason with the Taliban. And reason is something they don't accept. As has been said before...if we don't stop these people right now, we'll all regret the feeling of indifference in the future.
Originally posted by BabyGirl Eh, perhaps I should clarify something real quick...I cannot delete anything in the G&S forum because I am not a moderator there :) I was online at the time it happened...I believe the only two who were also on that had the ability to delete it were James and Sephiroth...
I don't remember being online at the time of the thread being deleted. In all honesty, I never really visit the G&S forum anyway. I'm still not sure who actually deleted the thread. I guess it was probably Warlock...but I don't really know. In any case, I support the decision...those topics often contain a large amount of spam. And remember, BabyGirl, in your profile, you can select to be "invisible"...so that you aren't displayed as being online. I need to post this quick message here just to remind all visitors to Games & Stories about our board's rules. (Please look in General Discussion for a statement of the rules). Based on discussions staff have had with me, and discussions in the staff forum, it has been decided that these "I say a word, you say a word" topics are considered spam by staff. This is because they encourage single word posts -- something that has been against the rules for quite some time. I have no idea why the moderators of G&S have allowed these topics to continue, based on the rules of the site, but I now feel compelled to actually say to members that any new versions of these topics will be removed from the boards. As you know, another similar topic was removed several days ago by another staff member. These topics are both pointless and way of rapidly increasing post counts to gain custom avatars. These topics have such large post numbers for this very reason. For those of you who have experienced severe post count drops, I would presume that you have spent most of your time posting in these spam-based threads. The best way to increase your posts legitimately, is to engage in genuine discussion in the forums. Or in this forum, role play, as the case may be. So let's try and get some real points of discussion going, shall we? (particularly in General Discussion).

No offense intended to the original poster, but c'mon...all caps and bad spelling isn't exactly a promising sign... I agree with Seph though, this is a pretty pointless topic. Why are all the topics lately things like "Do U like ice cream?" or "Do u have ne pets?" Come on people! Let's think of some semi-intelligent conversation topics...rather than this braindead rubbish.
Originally posted by Treble Well from the video of this game it looks real nice and tons of actions all at once.I havent got to try out the little demo that was included with Resident Evil Code Veronica X on the Ps2 which i would really want to. The game reminds me alot of Resident Evil and Dino Crisis since their all from Capcom. I would really like to give this game a try someday once it releases out.I would just love to do a combo slash them with Dante's(Main Charcter) sword then shoot them in the air with his guns. So what are your thoughts on the game?;)
I've read a lot about Devil May Cry. It looks amazing, I really want to buy it. It definitely focuses a lot more on action than puzzle solving (which I prefer). It's a kind of tongue-in-cheek game though, in the sense that it's not really as serious as Resident Evil...but then again, what's serious about a bunch of moaning zombies? Devil May Cry has some really cool features, like the ability to turn into a devil when your "devil meter" is fully charged. You also get points for how "cool" your moves are. You can use a weapon in each hand, and you can even perform huge strings of combos on enemies. Think of the speed of fighting in ZOE...and then imagine that type of fighting with loads more weapons, and a Castlevania theme. In my opinion...Devil May Cry is a 3D Castlevania on steroids... ...sounds good to me. :)
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Well I still don't see Justice... I dunno about you... Justice doesn't concern retaliating killing more innocent people.... Is that your sick idea of Justice? Justice is getting who is responcible and ONLY those who are responcible... killing more innocent people in retaliation is NOT Justice... never was, never has been.... perhaps you and George W need to look up that word in your dictionary.
I think that there is an understanding that innocent people might be killed in the crossfire. That doesn't make it okay by any stretch of the imagination, but it does mean that the death of innocent people isn't the intention of the military action. I for one am glad that the allies are doing this...and I hope that this time they don't shy off at the end...I hope that they keep going and going until they have achieved their objective. In the first night of military action, Tony Blair was saying how the allies were being very careful about choosing targets and making sure that they don't kill innocent people. But look at Saddam Hussein, he would take school kids and put them in military bunkers incase they got attacked...now that is truly insane and wrong. Let's hope that the Taliban don't try the same thing...

Yep, that's Bandai's Wonder Swan, a handheld game system. A year or so ago, Bandai launched the Wonder Swan Color in Japan, which is apparently more powerful than a GameBoy Color (although nowhere near as powerful as GBA). The WSC is unique because you can play it by holding it horizontally (like GBA) or vertically (like GBC). Holding it vertically is great for flight/shooting games, because the screen itself becomes verticle like a rectangle. And so it's perfect for that style of game. In addition, Square released Final Fantasy I, II and III (I think it was one two and three) on WSC. The games were perfect conversions and they came in special packages with exclusive Square art booklets and covers. I hope that answers your question. WSC was never launched in the United States, Europe or Australia/NZ...but apparently some companies are considering importing it for customers.

I wasn't even online when this happened...Transtic Nerve only just informed me. Apparently Will2x was banned because he was making some nasty threats to people...was FrenchButterfly indicated. This is clearly against our rules (the rules you see when you sign up). However, I'm not going to get involved. Transtic Nerve and Sephiroth will be dealing with the situation. Having said that, if what I've been told by different source is true, then I support the ban. And FrenchButterfly, I apologize about the harassment from Will2x...even though there is nothing I can do about it off the boards, I assure you, we will make sure that threats don't occur on the boards themselves.
Originally posted by AJ2K1 4 Life I don't personally think Osama bin Laden did it,... I mean,..as far as I heard, he's admitted every act of 'felony' he's ever commited, except for this one,...and even now, as his followers and his host country is being bombed, he still denies any and all accusations of being linked to this crime. He says he doesn't know who did it, but he can sure as hell guess why... And why is everyone here being so picky and evil against the Taliban? What have they done wrong? All they've asked for is proof from America linking Osama to the WTC attack. And Ameica reallyhave done it this time. They say they have proof, but they don't show this proof. They want the Taliban to hand over their guest for trial without no proof,...do you see my POV?
Okay, two things here. Firstly, you're missing the point and secondly, the Taliban have sucked you in. :) Osama bin Laden's involvement has been proven. The USA has passed a series of documents around to its allies (and others) which has undoubtedly linked him to the attacks on September 11th. Tony Blair said he saw the information and accepted it with no hesitation, Vladimir Putin has done the same...as has other world leaders. This information was always open to the Taliban ministry -- but the Taliban never came forward to claim it. The fact that they were saying "hand it to us!" and "it's not fair! We have to see that he's guilty!" is merely a tactic to delay military action against them. The Taliban is being fairly targeted for two reasons -- firstly, they are an oppressive and violent regime -- if an Afghan woman goes outside in the street WITHOUT a male escorting her, she is at risk of being arrested or shot. I saw a terrible image on CNN of a Taliban officer holding a machine gun to a woman's head...all because she was out gathering food for her starving children...and all because she had no male escort. You're telling me that this evil regime deserves "fair" treatment? They've been given due warning. And they haven't followed demands as per the allies' request. Thus, they must suffer the consequences. In addition, there is evidence which links the Taliban directly to the Al-Qaida organization (run by Osama bin Laden). Tony Blair said in an interview that the US document on Al-Qaida actually proves that the Taliban is directly (or at least partially) involved in the group's activities. So basically, we know that Osama bin Laden is involved and we know that the Taliban deserves everything it gets as of this moment. The people of Afghanistan have been living under this violent regime since the mid-1990's. Why should they suffer any longer? In my opinion, we need to rid Afghanistan of the Taliban regime AND at the same time, find and arrest/destroy Osama bin Laden and his training camps. If we don't do this now...it'll be too late.
