Originally posted by ~Boy Wonder~ See? People have interesting things to say about everything, and this is a perfect example. I wrote that to get something started, and although it isn't big yet, at least people are voicing some opinions. :) My plan has worked perfectly! Muahahaha:devil:
I never know what to put on my signature... I don't really have any good quotes or anything like that. *shrug* Oh well, maybe one day I'll come up with something. :)
Originally posted by Seifer I in no way saying everyone from florida is like this. Im just saying florida has like the most minority/extreme lyberalists in the US. Im not trying to offend anyone from florida either. The point that brought this up is: My mom is a librarian at my local high school here. Well they where reading in a memo where Two florida university librarians where instructed by the bosses that they could not where the red white and blue, ribbon on there clothes there. Well They did not think about why or ask question but they wore them anyway. Well they got in big time trouble. They where told if they didnt make a formal appology they would be fired. The reson behind this was: The boss said:"Whearing the american flag colors might offend some of the minorities or foreing exchange students that might be going to the school. Is it me or is that extremly ridiculous? Telling someone they cant fly their own nations flag IN THEIR OWN NATION. Thats ludacris. It should have been the boss who was fired. They had to make a formal appology for everyone and came close to loosing their jobs. If it was me I would have just been fired anyway, then filed a law suit.
I don't think that this is really about being liberal, it's more about being just plain stupid. lol In actuality, I think it's dangerous to be either too liberal or too conservative... I'll never understand people who are on the extreme of either end of the spectrum...
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Adam has said that basically we are using WAY too much Bandwidth.... hehe you should hear the stories... his server e-maile dhim saying "Good job, you are using alot of bandwidth..... now we are going to move you to this new server, which happens to cost $1400 a month"... James said he had a good laugh.... I dunno what they are gonna do about it... we'll have to wait and see.... but yes, reason we are going slow: Too much Bandwidth = takes longer to load......
Yep...unfortunately, our current server is only designed to take so much of a beating. We've experienced a huge influx of visitors over the past few days and consequently, it's caused our server to operate way over capacity. The option of moving to a "premium" server is too expensive...and really, it's a waste of time. But don't worry, we are looking at other options right now. We hope to have the boards operating at maximum capability as soon as we can. :)
Originally posted by BabyGirl Ugh, this is horrible...wisdom teeth are so not fun. You see, I'm 17 (er...almost...4 days to go) and I still don't have my wisdom teeth out. Now they are growing in. It hurts so much. I cannot yawn because the whole left side of my mouth hurts, I cannot chew on that side or eat anything hard because of my raw gums...uughh! It also feels like I have a sore throat on the left side...poo. Has anyone else had this happen...or are all of the older peeps around here smarter than I and got them out before they grew in? Ahh, I'm in pain...maybe I shall go now...just wanted to share this with someone...like you all :p
Agh! Yes! lol I've had this EXACT same problem over the last few days... When I was 16 or so, my dentist said that I had impacted wisdom teeth and that I should have them checked when I'm 18... Well here I am. I haven't had them checked specifically yet, but last week I started to feel a painful lump on the left of my mouth...and it hurt to open my mouth too wide...so I could barely eat or talk or anything. ...I feel your pain lol. But funnily enough, about three days ago, the pain suddenly stopped. So I don't know exactly what's happened...either the tooth has moved and it's all okay, or it's the calm before the storm. lol Apparently if all the impacted teeth start to move a lot, I'll have to get them all out at once...thats umm...4 of them I think lol. So yeah, I know exactly how annoying and painful it can be. I hope you feel better soon. :)
Originally posted by jcgoudy i never heard anthing about a 'global launch'. i've heard that it was going to be released in Japan in September, in the USA and Canada in November and the rest of the world in Spring 2002.
Yes, you're 100% correct there. Nintendo has never mentioned a global launch for any of their products. They did talk vaguely about GameCube's launch in 1999, and gave general times, but obviously it would be fairly infeasable to have a global launch at once.
Originally posted by Cera I'm intrigued. Enlighten me.
Well, I saw it on a documentary on television, about the origins of christianity. Infact, the entire series was about the history of christianity. It was VERY interesting to say the least. The current bible has been chopped and changed so much...it's very watered down from the original. In any case, I don't have a lot of time to post at the moment, so I'll just say that the original bible had some very weird references in it, references that one might even consider evil. I find it interesting how various military leaders and religious leaders have changed the bible over the years to make it suit their own purposes -- like how various leaders changed the religeous laws in the past to faciliate things like divorce. It's very interesting stuff.
Originally posted by Cera That was great, Transtic....heh... Okay, there are a few different views on the Lord's table. 1.) Roman Catholic Church--Transubstantiation--Body and Blood replace the bread and wine when certain words are said over it... Only Body and Blood are present. 2.) Baptist--I think it's Baptist--Only Bread and wine (crackers and grape juice, whatever...) are present. It's a meal "in remembrence of me..." 3.) Lutheran--Body, Blood, Bread, and Wine are all present. In and with each other. It's a communion (thus one of it's names) with the entire church--past, present, and future. Cannibalism...no...it's something...higher, I guess...gah...it's hard to understand, and worse to explain... I can't belive I'm the one trying to explain the beliefs of my church body...the irony....it's amazing....who says God doesn't have a sense of humor?
The original bible had references to cannibalism as a positive thing... ...I guess they cut that stuff out in the newer versions.

If you had 3 wishes what would they be and why?
James replied to luvbug's topic in General Discussion
Hmm...3 wishes... First, I'd wish that Adam and I had enough money to do what we REALLY want with Otaku Media... *sighs*...merchandising...;) Second, I'd wish that I owned Nintendo. (C'mon, who wouldn't?) And thirdly, I'd wish for world peace...just because I think it's the right thing to do. :) Ugh, boring wishes, huh? :) -
Actually...there are apparently five Matrix movies for the whole series.. 2 and 3 are being made now, with 4 and 5 to be made later. Or so I heard.
Originally posted by Sephiroth what? too young for children, what ever do you mean....
Err...I mean, you look too young to be a father. lol

Yeah...it's kind of frustrating not to have a GameCube yet. But still, think of yourselves as lucky. You only have to wait until November... I have to wait until February or March! As you said...all the bugs will be gone by then...and we'll probably get more launch games out here... But still, waiting for a new console when others have had it for months can get annoying. :)

I think that everyone's tastes are different... My very first games were Nintendo Game & Watch titles. They were incredibly simple compared to the latest games today... Sometimes, I enjoy a game that requires a lot of thought. Games like Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill or Resident Evil... But sometimes my brain is tired of thinking. And in those cases, I prefer to just sit down with something that's fun and simple...a no-brainer game. So in that case, I still love to sit down with Super Mario 64, Sonic Adventure 2, Jet Set Radio or Smash Bros.
Originally posted by kuja u didnt get DK3? lol it was deffinatly funny that for sure... and oh well nmi had to many games to list... but yea i can help w/ a lot of games
DK3 was fantastic...Kiddie Kong was cool. heh Although it was kind of taunting. By the time I bought it, I think Nintendo 64 had come out in Japan...(or was about to)...and remember how, in the save rooms, you could see that Nintendo 64 in the shadows...? That made me so annoyed lol. It was frustrating to play a SNES game with that little N64 teaser in there...;)
Originally posted by Sephiroth well, finally, here is a pic of myself....
lol...that picture is cool...except, in that picture, you look a bit too young for children...;)
Originally posted by BabyGirl Heh, thanks James :D! I don't have a boyfriend at the moment cause the past few guys I've been seeing were incredibly strange after I got to know them (to say the least!) and then one of them ran off to California. (Heh! Screw you @sshole! er, uh...excuse the language...) My luck in love isn't all that good :(
Yeah...I've been unlucky myself in the past. It happens. I guess you've just been in the wrong place at the wrong time or something... But someone who is sane and who can recognize a one-in-a-million woman when he sees one will hopefully turn up soon. :)
Originally posted by Master O Beans Ha, for some reason I though you were like 30... but cool pick, I just wish you would give some explaination about what's going on! :p
Umm...okay well, it was the last day of high school. And basically, everyone came dressed up in some kind of costume. In that particular photo, I was getting out of a sumo suit lol. The woman in the picture is an art teacher...and we were trying to kick each other's butt in these sumo suits lol. It's a lot of fun...but they're really heavy. It's hard to get up once you've fallen down. lol
Originally posted by BabyGirl Neither will I because...because...*joins James in a sob fest* I don't have a significant other! *sniff*
I'm still amazed that you don't have a significant other. lol You are into Star Wars (c'mon, how many girls do you know who are into Star Wars?) You're also into Nintendo. You're personality is pretty much ideal and the icing on the cake is that you're incredibly beautiful. There are millions of American guys missing out in a big way right now lol. Oh well...I guess unfair things happen in the world. hehe :)

Remember when I posted that little blown-up shot? Well, here's a full picture. I posted this on the last boards...so some may have seen it, but it's the ONLY picture I have of myself on the computer (since I have no scanner). I actually got it from my school. lol And don't laugh at the picture...lol

I will never get my partner's picture on the computer here...never...*cries* hehe. I need a scanner...and quick!

One of my favourite Duff Man quotes... "Duff Man is thrusting at the direction of the problem!" There are so many good quotes from The Simpsons though...it'd take too long to write them all down. :)
Originally posted by Sephiroth well, the UK was never going to show bebop in the first place, no adult swim, you see, and everyone watching toonami in the UK are still watching repeats of gundam wing, no mobile suit gundam, and the cell games on dragonball z, heh, UK gets everything last, and now were gonna have to wait even longer for MGS2....
Yep, it's like that here too...I mean, the anime stores are fantastic, but as for anime on television...that's a whole different story. However, I don't think you have to worry about MGS2 being delayed/cancelled in the UK. It really seems to be the United States which has this overzealous censorship... I don't think that MGS2's content would be particularly offensive to European or Australian audiences. So I'm presuming that the local distributors in both those regions wouldn't be delaying the game. The only way there'd be a delay, was if Konami actually changed the game itself...and let's hope that they don't bow to pressure to do that.
-
I think it's kind of annoying that everything is being censored/banned because of the tragedy in NYC and Washington... I mean, this is what terrorists want -- for people to stop living normal lives. I think it's kind of insane to actually either postpone or ban something like Metal Gear Solid 2...but it's even more insane to ban/block something that contains a reference to war... If people don't like it, they can always change the channel.
Originally posted by Jeff i'm not a dove. and we didn't get over it. we just stopped posting about war because it's been ruled to stop..unless something interesting comes out. now, turn everything upside down except dove. hehe:smirk:
You don't have to stop posting about war... There is an "Opinions about war" topic on GD down the bottom. You may use that topic for any war related posts. We're just asking that people not make another actual thread.
