*takes a deep breath...* I applied for a writing position at Absolute Xbox. A few weeks later, I became a Senior Editor of theOtaku.com. Soon after, Adam and I wanted to open a GAMECUBE section, and Adam chose me as its webmaster. So I was effectively promoted again. At the same time, I started to become active at OtakuBoards.com. Subsequent to that, Justin Blessing (webmaster of Absolute Xbox) left theOtaku.com and started MSOtaku.com. In the wake of his leaving us, we were forced to close down our GameCube section as well. With Justin gone, I was "promoted" again to the spot that he formerly held -- Adam's business partner. Now MSOtaku.com has been swallowed up by CloudChaser Media...theOtaku.com has relaunched as an anime only site...OtakuBoards.com V3.0 has launched...Adam and I have launched Otaku Media, our new media label...and we are planning a third site for the network. That's the story so far. :)
 2.
Originally posted by zanza Yes, then you should do as Master O Beans and word it more precisely. The mental anguish and pain I suffered through these last few posts is unbearable.
I felt my post to be very clear. I think that Master O Beans was implying something that simply wasn't true, whereas I wasn't doing that. In any case, let's discuss the issue at hand, shall we? If you're suffering pain through these posts...please, go and lay down and rest. Then you won't have to worry. :)
 3.
Originally posted by zanza Seems to me you were implying that people had been calling groups of people "scum" to me. Gee.
Not with regard to this topic, or to the members on the board. I've been watching the news, and there has been a lot of this kind of sentiment among Americans and others. I was using that information to demonstrate that jumping to conclusions is not a good idea in this situation. As I said above, Master O Beans should have worded his post more carefully (and less condescendingly) in order to avoid me reading it wrongly (if that is what I did).
 4.
Originally posted by zanza No one did - don't be so stupid. Same essence. You telling people not to do something; Master O Beans told people not to do something. Neither of you is ignorant.
Yes, Master O Beans implied that people had been justifying the actions. If he didn't mean this, he should have perhaps worded his post more carefully, as not to make that implication. Master O Beans: If you weren't implying what I said you were, then I apologize. It's just that your post appeared that way.
 5.
Originally posted by zanza Maybe that was just a side-note in reference to future posts, if anyone were to try to justify them. Don't come to conclusions.
Actually, I think you're misreading the post. Within the context of this thread, the implication was that some posts were justifying the terrorist actions. And that is simply untrue, this isn't a black and white issue...so I was merely implying that we shouldn't oversimplify it in any way.
 6.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve I forone will NEVER condone any act of violence... If they want their religion to be known, then they better start converting people, cause this crap just causes more hate than love for the Muslims. The sad thing is, the three major monotheistic religions are all tied to one another by ONE man... Abraham. This may not be known or not have any relevance, but me gonna say it anyway Three Major monotheistic religions: Muslim, Jewish, Christianity All come together with one man, Abraham. As you may know Abraham was spoken to by an angel and said you will lead a great city and have many followers if you devote your life to me. He did... God put him through test, including seeing if he would sacrafice his son, Issac (i think) Abraham is basically the leader of the Jewish people. They are God's "chosen people" or so it says... whatever... anyway, Abraham had 2 sons, Issac and some other guy who's name escapes my mind... anyway... Issac's side eventually gives birth to Jesus.... and Abraham's other son's side eventually gives birth to Muhamed (sp?). Jesus was born in supposedly, 8-6 BCE (being politically correct, BCE stands for Before Common Era)... Muhamed was not born till some 600 years later... Anyway, jesus leads these people... blah blah, ask someone who knows the story better than I do from here... 600 years later, Muhamed born, lived... one day the Angel Gabriel came down and told him a buncha stuff on how to do whatever and so Muhamed became the prophet for Mulims. Which soon gained a rather large following... Christianity is very big this time I do believe... well after Constantine... not sure though.... anyway.... Basically this is a religious war... Prior WWII, Palestine owned what we now call Isreal. it was Palestine... After WWII, We Americans and whoever else basically said "You know, those poor Jewish people... since they suffered so much, lets give them their land back" and they gave them what is now Isreal. Palestines were litterally lined up byt the thousand and transported out of the new country... many died, many had to live in rotten places.. tent... One guy, who works at my college said he lived throught that. His dad took old clothes or something and had to build a simple tent out of it which they lived in for YEARS! To say the least, they were extremely pissed and the war between them and the Jews os Isreal has been going on since. They all basically want Jeruselum back (sp?) It's the holy land to ALL of the three major monothiestic religions... to the christians, it's the place where Jesus was crucified... the holy land for which he died for. To the jewish, it's the site of the very first Jewish temple. (which is later destroyed during the Roman empire, all that remians is one wall) and to the Muslims, this is where Muhamed assended into heaven. Infact on the very spot this happened, they built a mosque called "the Dome of the Rock" it's holy land to all... this is basically a crusade we are entering.... Anyway, but to show off what you think is right by killing innocent people in the US for whatever reason.... God doesn't want this.... he would never want this.... this is not an act of God... these people did this cause they were too stupid to think ratioanlly... and the US is going to bomb them or whatever, if we so do chose so, because of the same reasons.... this will not stop till people sit down and disguss what they are actually doing in God's name.... it's almost sickening to see this.... BTW: I know Palenstine is probably not responcible, but the whole thing with Isreal and Palenstine and the Afganistan people are mostly Muslim, they side with Palenstine... it's all connected... Everything in this matter is connected to religion in one way or another.... SADLY...... Wow.... this post is WAY to long.
That's all very true. Many Americans don't understand that Palestine underwent a long period of what you could call "ethnic cleansing". If I was Palestinean, I'd be pretty d@mn angry too. As Transtic said, we're not condoning terrorism in any form, we are merely pointing out that Israel isn't the angel it makes itself out to be. I don't think that Palestine had much if anything to do with these attacks, it was most probably Osama bin Laden (and thus, Afghanistan was involved at some level). But it's not fair to say something like "All Afghanis are scum" or whatever...99.9% had NO idea what was going on. Their government doesn't even feed them...let alone give them any information. So let's keep this issue on the facts, rather than jumping to conclusions about certain groups of society being "scum" or being evil or whatever the case may be.
 7.
Originally posted by Master O Beans ...if you can post your beliefs, then so shall I. ...I think this thread is ridiculous, therefore, I'm not even going to grace it with a serious comment. Sincerely - -Master O Beans P.S. - Anyone who supports the actions of the terrorists, or justify them in anyway...is more than welcome to burn right along side them in he||.
Nobody is saying they support or justify the actions of these terrorist -- don't be so stupid. I think that your comments are failing to recognize the problem. We are talking about people who are desperate...and who are in a situation where they have been "conquered" by Israel. They have suffered years upon years of terrorism and death...and this is their reason for attacking the USA. Having said that, while we may understand their reasoning...we should never justify or accept the actions they take. I don't forgive any kind of terrorism whatsoever. But that doesn't mean I can shut people out and not listen to their concerns. To do that is truly irresponsible.
 8.
Originally posted by Master O Beans ...Right now me is eating a Little Debby Oatmeal Creame Cookie. ...and me thinks you all suck.
Doesn't mean I eat healthily...lol I just exercise it off. :)
 9.
Originally posted by SSJ5 Vegeta Any weight-lifters out there? I stopped for a while then started back up again. The other day I pumped 320 bicep curls in a row with 20 pound dumbells and man are my arms sore, I also did something like 120 something pushups. Phew...
Yeah..working out is great. It's a good way of getting rid of anger and tension...and making your body feel good. Right now I don't work out like I used to. These days I only do some curls and situps...and occasionally a little aerobics. But that's about it.

 11.
Originally posted by Mari DeRoot I'm just saying...I'm leaving the OtakuBoards.com. I thank you for the bits of info I did get. But I feel like I'm being treated as an inferior. I'm not pleased with this at all. I am very new to anime and I have mentioned this before many times. But my ?'s have been ignored or answered very indirectly as if I was some waste of time. :( :cross: I really still really want to be an Otaku...but I'm not feeling welcomed by the ppl here. Also, I feel that for me this is a bad atomosphere for my kind of fandom. I can't stand being talked down to by ppl 2-3 years younger than me in age!! I like a ~little~ respect. Anyway...this is just my reason for leaving. Sayanora fellas!:tasty:
 12.
Originally posted by Aya Awwww, you're so smart...*hands you a lolly*
*takes it* ...Er...thanks.
 13. If my country were being attacked (like in WWII), then yes...I would sacrifice my life to defend it. Having said that, this issue is a terrorist issue, it is NOT an international war. This is more about stamping out terror groups...rather than actually defeating a national oppressor. If this is Osama Bin Laden (once again...sp?), all I can say is...if I were left alone in a room with him...god knows how I would react. I'm not a violent person, but it'd be incredibly difficult not to cause some serious damage.
 14.
Originally posted by Aya Heeey, was that an insult?
Nope. Just an observation. :)
 15. This topic just keeps getting weirder...
 16.
Originally posted by BabyGirl Quite acceptable, James. And it's actually very touching to know that you care a lot for the people of a country you yourself don't belong to. That's tolerance all right:)
Thanks. You know, there is something that could be positive here...in the sense that maybe this tragedy will encourage the allies (USA, Europe, Australia/NZ) to become closer...and to become more tolerant and peaceful. Even though I think we're pretty much like that already, it certainly helps to work together in a time of crisis. We're no longer in "separate countries", we need to have the mentality that we're all global citizens. And what happens to one...affects the other.
 17.
Originally posted by BabyGirl Once again, wise words from James. I, for one, completely agree.
Thanks, BabyGirl. I presume that you read my announcement...(I was very tired when I wrote it, so I hope it was acceptable). I just want to reiterate to all the Americans here (which would be 90% of our visitors) that my words in that announcement were very sincere...they truly came from my heart. I think most Australians feel a strong bond with America. My entire family was utterly horrified when we saw this on the news. I really hope that America...and Europe and Australia...and all of Asia...can work together to fix this problem.
 18.
Originally posted by Ice Dragon v2 so ur trying to say is that americans are stuck-ups (no, i dont take that quite offensively) i know what u mean about this but i still dont see on why we should be attacked like this i dont care, but someday , we will nail that ****er that literally screw the USA over
I'm not saying that Americans are "stuck-ups" as such. I am, however, saying that Americans tend to be extremely naive when it comes to worldwide affairs. Americans, for the most part, know very little about the rest of the planet. Yet we know a lot about you. Why? Because for us to have good economies...and strong political systems, it is important for us to understand the United States and to be able to do business with you. But you don't phyiscally need to understand us. So you often don't. That's the primary issue. Having said that, I think that Americans are great people...I think it's fair to say that, as our Prime Minister said "Australians on the whole love and admire the American people". And that's very true. Our two societies have many similarities...and a strong and close history together. So believe me, I feel very personally violated by this attack, even though it was based on the United States. I'm just saying that we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Let's be calm...let's find out what really occurred...let's find out who really did this...and then we'll take action.
 19. I realize that this is a very emotional issue, but I want to remind everyone that swearing of any kind (even using symbols) is not permitted on our boards. Please refrain from using that kind of language here.
 20. The problem with this situation is that Americans are highly naive when it comes to understanding why someone would want to attack them. As Americans, you see your countrymen going out there and doing good in the world... But you're only seeing it from your perspective. You aren't living in a smaller country...with less power...and with less independance. The Palestineans are often blamed for horrible acts, but you have to remember that their land was taken from them. Israel should not be allowed to just pretend like they aren't to blame. Israel essentially conquered Palestine and now occupy their land. If I was a Palestinean, I'd be pretty angry too. Having said that, no amount of anger justifies the attack of civilians under any circumstances. Firstly, we need to find out if this is indeed Osama (sp?) Bin Laden and/or his various terror groups. Once we know that, we need to mount a global effort to not only capture him and ALL involved in his groups...but we need to hold countries which have harboured him responsible. The bottom line is that the United States can't do this alone. Yes, it's a world power...but it is only one country out of more than 200 globally. Countries like Afghanistan have protected terrorists...and there has been little political will to do something about it. EVERY country in the world needs to band together and find this guy...and hold all those harbouring terrorists accountable for their actions. Even if it means strong military attacks -- it's worth it for the sake of protecting people.
 21.
Originally posted by Ice Dragon v2 i just cant believe the wtc is gone for good my friends n i were plannin to good there this weekend for some apparent reason, i want to attack the middle east for this
This isn't the fault of the "Middle East". It's the fault of a small group of fundamentalist religious nuts within the Middle East (although it could easily be someone else). It's like me blaming YOU for George W Bush's poor pollution policies. It's not your fault, it's the government's fault. So I know that people have an instant reaction to this...but let's try and be rational and tolerant, as I mentioned in my mainpage announcement.
 22.
Originally posted by Ice Dragon v2 guys this is it we are gonna head for world war 3 im cuz (n thats eternal jehuty) just go out of there just in time
This is not going to end in WWIII. This kind of kneejerk reaction is very unwarranted. Most of the world wants to get rid of terrorism...it's just the nutty few who insist on bombing places and being involved in activities like this.
 23.
Originally posted by SS Trunks Singing: Flying with a nuke, Flying with a nuke, Oops, I seem to have dropped an 8 kilotonne warhead on a bunch of stinkin f*****g Arab B******s celebrating in the street about bestroying the twin towers and the pentagon! Well, FRY MOTHER F*****s FRY!!!!!!!!! Ah! That made me a little better! Now, everyone join in: (repeats song) Yeah Cecil, I saw the Tony Blair speech and I think your right!!
Hey hey...that post was very uncalled for. I know you're unhappy, but let's try and keep the language at a reasonable level, shall we? It's not fair to blame all of the Arab community for this. Sure, some are behaving stupidly, but all of them aren't cruel and nasty.
 24.
Originally posted by Master O Beans "There is a delcaration of war against America" ...I didn't know that, but that's what they said on the news, apparently this constitutes as War (if there seems to be a sarcastic over tone in this post, it's not. I am genuinely serious) I can't believe the second crashed either. If I knew that I could skip all that boot camp sh!t, I'd join up in a second :wigout:
I don't know what to say... Adam is in NYC right now...and he's talking to me over AIM, so I hope he's far enough away from the attacks. For all of our board members who live in the United States...I can't even imagine how you must feel. I am Australian and even I feel phyiscally sick... Australia and America have always had a close relationship, and to see these terrible things happening to our sister country makes me feel so emotional... I'm so so sorry to all of you...I hope that nobody's family members were hurt during these attacks... I don't know what else to say, except that I'm really sorry.

I can't believe that the second tower collapsed...:(
