Originally posted by zanza But that really serves no purpose. Here's a more in-depth analogy, perhaps you'll understand this one - A person is standing behind you. You do not know he is there, completely unaware of his existance - you do not "believe" he is there because you don't know of it. (This is the equivalent of being alive. The person whom you don't know behind you is the equivalent of hell) Now let's say that person reaches out and punches you. This is the equivalent of dying and going to hell. You never believed the person (hell) was there, but it still got you in the end. If you'd like to debate that one be my guest, but I don't think it can be done. Just because you don't believe something doesn't mean it doesn't exist - I don't believe in aliens, but that doesn't mean they don't exist at all. I just don't believe they do. When they beam me up and probe me, well, I'll be darned.
Okay well, I understand what you're saying, however, it can work both ways. See...you're saying that you don't believe in aliens, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. That's a good point. And yet you believe in God, even though there is no proof at all of his existence? Your argument can be turned around to work for me, because I can simply say "You might believe in God, but that doesn't mean he exists". But for me, even the concept of aliens is more realistic than the concept of God. The concept of God is very much like a fairy tale...it strains credibility so much so, that's it's extremely difficult to "believe". Especially when, after many years, I have not yet seen proof. All I see is people saying "Well there MUST be an explanation for that phenomenon...let's label it as 'God's Work'".
Originally posted by Ice Dragon v2 what transmission do u use in GT3???? i always go for the stick (manual)
I always use automatic. That way, I can use a combination of accelerator, brake and handbrake for turns. I tend to use a combination of brake/handbrake to move through turns really quickly.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve It's a pun.. because his last name is Breifs and his sisters name is Bra and his mom is Bulma (or Bloomer), and yeah... hehe
That's insane...crazy crazy Japanese :D Still, it reminds me of an elephant. I'll always imagine a boy with a nose touching the ground.

I don't know if the actual character himself sucks but... ...I've always hated the name Trunks. Who calls themself Trunks? lol. It makes me think of an elephant.

Is it just me or does no one like me here at all?
Originally posted by FrenchButterfly From the time I have been here, since Otaku was back up,I just feel like I am being ignored.I am begining to feel out of place here.No one says anything to me.Its like I have no friends here, cause I am over looked. So,Is it just me or is this really happening?:(
Well, that's really nobody's fault. The only way to "get noticed" is to be really active and participate in discussions. I think it's just coincidence that you feel that you haven't been noticed. But don't worry, I'm sure that if people see your topic or your post, they'll reply. -
Originally posted by zanza So what if I didn't believe ice cream existed? It disappears? Precisely. If I happened to be a very devoted Christian all my life, and then, say, it turns out some other religion was right, I would still suffer it's consequences even though I didn't believe in them.
Yes, but you can't compare the two. "Hell" is something created by religion -- it is simply not a proven fact of life. Whereas ice cream is a proven fact. Religion, for the most part, isn't about fact (especially if you look at creationism, which is just plain rubbish). It's more about a frame of mind.
Originally posted by No-Name hmmm. i have mixed feelings on it. for one, the graphics look the most realistic out of all video games that i have seen (they could fool me in a movie). and since the grafix are realistic, so is the gameplay. ppl that already drive cars on a regular basis in real life (i.e. 15 or up) wont find this a challenge, but im 14, and barely ever drive a car, and drive go karts at scandia only once or twice a year. i found it more difficult than all the other racing games because of the realism. im sure with practice, i couldve been better, but who could have known that turns (small ones) could be such a B!tch. ill buy it when i see a used one for 34.99.
Well, let me say that I drive. And as someone who is old enough to drive, driving does not prepare you for a racing game at all. Driving normally and racing are two very different things.
Originally posted by Cecil Those are cool. I wish i knew how to post pics.:( My favorite shoot is from Luigis Mansion. When he shines the light at the shower curtain and you see the profile of the ghost. I thought that was funny because Nintendo makes games for younger aduinces (sp) and i was wondering what they where going to do. I heard that the ghost dissapers when Luigi moves the curtain.
Yep, that is one of many cool puzzles in Luigi's Mansion. One room includes a family of ghosts. The father is in a rocking chair. But if you shine your light on him to stun him, he will dissappear. So what you have to do, is you have to turn your flashlight off...and quickly spin around to suck him up with your vacuum. But he's big...he'll drag you around the room...and possibly even throw bananna peels at your feet to stop you! Then there's the mother ghost. The mother ghost is actually hidden behind a mirror on the wall. So in order to flush her out, you need to aim your vacuum at the curtains to make them flap about. That will scare her...and she'll reveal herself. And then comes the final ghost, the baby ghost. You can't see him...all you can see is his shadow near the baby crib. So you have to quietly walk towards the shadow...and try and suck at the spot where you think the actual ghost is. That's just one example of one of the rooms. It's gonna be such a cool game :)
Originally posted by BabyGirl I am definitely the same way, I have a pretty quick temper and hastily get mad, but most of the time I control it. So basically, there are only two people I have ever known that I still hold a grudge against...er, maybe it's not so much a grudge as it is I just plain hate them, who knows . Oh, by the way James, I can no longer look at your avatar and smile at the funny Nintendo guy :( hehehe :p...what's this new one stand for? I think you should still use your old ST Power one...lol :D
Yeah...people seemed to like good ol' Shiggy. hehe Don't worry, he'll be the avatar I normally use. Cept, the avatar I am now using is temporary. It's based on Otaku Media's new website. So I'll probably change avatars around as the launch gets closer, but don't worry, Shiggy ain't gone...he'll be back soon. hehe

I don't hold grudges. They are really useless. If I ever hold a grudge, it's not for very long (as both Shinji and Gendo can attest). I don't even hold a grudge against Thimoc, even though I personally think that he's some 12 year old kid with no life lol. It's not in my nature to hold a grudge...although I am still wary of people if I need to be.

The only person (I think) that I could even come close to knowing in real life would be Warlock. Today we just worked out that he lives literally 15 minutes from my house lol. So that's about as close as you can get. I don't know anyone from the boards personally though.
Originally posted by lil_hell4t i think that all the new consoles like the ps2 and gamecube are making n64 look kinda disapoiting ,but that doesnt mean it is a disapointment...many goood games on it :p
Well of course they are. They are next generation consoles, N64 is not. It's not like N64 is competing with PS2, that's GameCube's job. I mean, you could say that N64 made SNES look dissappointing because it's more powerful, but it's an irrelevant point. You have to look at the console on its own and consider if it was worth the money. And I think most N64 owners would say yes, it was worth the money.
Originally posted by Navi More like double standards. Boy do they suck. I can't even go out to a skate park without guys giving me crap. I can't play games at a video arcade without having a guy challenge me, and If I win, rechallenge me again so they don't get defeated by a 'girl'. If I reply with sarcasm or give intelligent insults they say I have PMS. What about guys screwing tons of girls and being 'cool' while girls are called sluts. die die die my darling...
Ah man...I understand that totally, Navi. I'm a guy...and I am not at all like that. I would never degrade women in such a way. I just want you to know that not all guys out there are like that. I'm sure I speak for a lot of members on these boards when I say that most of us wouldn't behave like that toward a girl.

Well, one of the most common links between the Final Fantasy games is of course, love. Love is the primary or secondary subject matter in most Final Fantasy games (perhaps not all, but most). Think about it. The stories have always had some focus on love as a primary theme throughout the game... And by the way, if you're going to count all those side-games, then you might as well count Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon too lol. I'm talkin' Final Fantasy 1 through to Final Fantasy 10 (and possibly including Tactics). But that's really all I'm referring to.

Okay, I think the problem has been sorted out. All moderators/super mods should be able to visit the staff forum now.
Originally posted by Nerdsy That is just the impression I get from the screenshot, once I play the game actually, it will probably change. for better or for worse. I was just stating that my opinion of Microsoft and the X-box is that it will probably focus so much on graohics that the game play won't be that good. Plus, I don't like games where you go around shooting up monsters with blood and guts flying everywhere. I think those games basically suck, 'cept for DOOM, I love that game...
Well, you liked Doom. Doom was the most basic shooter there ever was lol. So how can you not like games with blood and guts, yet like Doom? This is more about Microsoft and the Xbox than this actual specific game, isn't it? Remember, this game isn't being made by Microsoft. So I wouldn't give any credit to them.

protesting desert shadows decision to leave...
James replied to Dessert Shadow's topic in General Discussion
I'm sick of these going away threads. They're ridiculous. If he wants to go...then so be it. It's his decision. I don't think that everyone pleading with him to stay will necessarily change his mind. If you really want to keep in contact with him, just save his email address or talk to him on AOL. -
Zelda cards? Nintendo could make cards of anything and they'd make money. They could make "I'm An Idiot" cards with "Nintendo" printed on 'em and people would still buy them lol
Originally posted by Shinji v2.0 Nah man, not true. It had some editing. While the editing wasn't bad, still...Me = Self proclaimed Cowboy Bebop master :D Let's see... Episode 1 - Asteroid Blues -Ommited the bullet-in-the-head that the bartender got when he was going to buy the Red Eye off Asimov. -Less blood in the opening shoot out. -As for swearing, they took out "the gods name -- in vain". So instead of God da mn son of a *****! we heard da mn son of a bit ch! -Blood on the window, when she shoots Asimov. (yes, I know you said this) Episode 2 - Stray Dog Strut -Ommited the word "sh it" twice. Once when Spike mutters it, it's changed to "da mn", and once when the doctor says "deep sh it", it's changed to "deep trouble." (yes, I know you said this too :P) Minor stuff. Peace, Shinji (^_^)/
My god...your poor Americans. Everything is censored for you lol. No wonder people get so frustrated and shoot up people.
Originally posted by Sephiroth I thought black was not going to be very good, since 3 and 4 were very poor, but I was surprised, as it is a marvelous game, and that is what we all want to see more of.... if sony continue to release excellent games, then they will become the number one name in consoles in the future....
Yeah, because TM: Black was developed by Incognito Studios, the company who made the first two games. The only thing is, these games aren't released by Sony itself. So essentially, they aren't Sony's franchises. They could go anywhere anytime. The only way Sony can be the number one force in gaming is to have its own first party development studios churning out good stuff like TM: Black.
