IF IT LOOKS GOOD STILL DONT BUY IT, I JUST GAVE IT BACK CAUSE IT HAS CRAPPY GRAPHICS AND THE GAME PLAY GETS BORING AFTER 3 MIN. SO CHOOSE WISELY WHAT GAME YOU BUY AND GO TO GAMEBOY ADVANED.COM TO SEE REVIEWS ON GAMES YOU WANT SO U DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Please do not post a message with all caps (it would be considered shouting). Also, don't swear. Even if you're just using symbols. As for Rayman...if people liked the PSX version, they'll like the GBA version. Otherwise, it's probably not the kind of game I'd recommend.
 2.
Originally posted by lil_hell4t i dont own an n64 my self but have played one manytimes with a freind.  ..ahem anywayz..n64 itself may b a dissapointment..but smash bros sure isnt..that game rox :p
I think that if a system only has one good game...then it's not really a dissappointment. N64 had plenty of innovative, fun games.
 3.
Originally posted by PiroMunkie That's what your mind has trained you to think, I've been thinking about this for about a week or so and it makes sense to me. But a lot of people out there probably couldn't handle it because they are... um.. what's the word.... I dunno I can't think of it.. but yeah
Without money, you essentially have a situation like Communist Russia. Money is important, because it is an incentive to work harder...and to be involved in different kinds of jobs. I mean, who would want to take rubbish away or something like that? Nobody would do it just for the "good of society". People work to earn money, which in turn, allows them to purchase goods and services. The desire for better goods and services means that people work harder and have more ambition. By removing money, to an extent, you remove a lot of ambition. However, the reason a lot of people fall by the wayside is lack of education and lack of good welfare. I know that America's welfare system is terrible, compared with Australia's, which is the best in the world. So I guess I'm saying that on the one hand, you can have money and wealth, as long as that money and wealth supports those who are less fortunate and allows everyone to live with a good quality of life.
 4. Yeah, I think that a lot of it is total hypocracy. I mean, girls can comment on another girl's looks if they like, without being labeled a lesbian. Personally, I don't care what anyone says. I am quite happy to point out if a girl or a guy is attractive. I have no problem saying something like that about either sex.
 5.
Originally posted by Kevin Brown It's not like I'm hiding anything, I also apologized but you deleted my message! Why do you have to be such a dumbass? And why did you delete that message... were you just trying to make me seem like a bigger asshole than you? Note: Transtic Nerve is a dumbass.
Hey hey, that's enough. Talk like that again on these boards, and you'll be banned for life. Consider this your first and only warning.
 6.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve Yeah, I hate smilies sometimes.... And why do I seem to be the only one that liked Episode 1.... it wasn't better than A New Hope or Return of the Jedi but it was better than Empire Strikes Back and overall wasn't a bad movie....
Uh, Episode 1 wasn't any worse than any of the other movies. People just have a romantic view of Star Wars because of its age and nostalgic value. The series never had an in-depth story or anything like that, it was always a very basic story of good vs evil. Having said that, my favourite Star Wars movie was probably Episode V.
 7.
Originally posted by No-Name i think that ps2 is gonna get knocked on its @ss by xbox. xbox comes with 4 controller slots while ps2 requires u to buy a multitap. xbox will also play dvds and music (i think. and if it doesnt, then thats where its screwed) and it has internet gameplay. thats pretty d@mn good.
Umm...Internet gameplay is a feature that Xbox, GameCube and PS2 will all support. I agree that Sony was rather stupid not to include four controller ports on PS2, but that is counter balanced by the fact that with Xbox, you can't watch DVD movies unless you buy the remote controller...which unlocks the feature. Pretty stupid, huh?
 8. Wow...what can I say... I'm 18 with three younger siblings. And my dad has always worked...so I've basically been a "father" since I was five years old. I've changed more diapers and been through more messy feeding sessions with babies that my dad ever was lol. Being a parent is hard work...but my younger siblings think of me as almost a father to them...they always come to me if they are hurt or in trouble. So while kids can be annoying at times, they are ultimately one of the most satisfying things in life. Everyone always forgets any hesitation they had when their baby is born. Whether it happens or it doesn't, it's worth it :)
 9.
Originally posted by Matt.D What is PIKMIN?????
Uhh...you've never heard of Pikmin?? Pikmin is only one of the most innovative next generation games to be seen yet! It's Shigeru Miyamoto's next big franchise. Tsk tsk...I can't believe you don't know what it is :) Go to www.nintendo.com and find pages for information on Pikmin.
 10.
Originally posted by Sephiroth true, but nowadays everything released on the ps/ps2 seem to be nothing but sequels, and there's only so far that sony can go with that, a series like final fantasy can be understood, because each game is different to the other, but when you take into consideration games like tomb raider, then it just starts to get ridiculous.... sony shouldn't care about graphics, most people want to play good games which will last them a while, not games with good graphics which can be completed on the same day, sony really should listen to what the public wants, and not what they think the public wants....
I agree 100%. But in some cases (such as Twisted Metal Black or MGS2), sequels aren't so bad. As long as they present new elements of gameplay and at least some advancement over the previous game. Games like Ico and Jax and Dexter are the games which are really pushing the innovation on PS2; that's what we need to see more of.
 11.
Originally posted by kuja um... something tells me your wrong... banon isnt in all of them im pretty sure of that... when will you people realize... there are 12 FF's and 2 remakes... there is no character in common, not all of them have summon, not all have chocobos, even less have moggles, they all dont even multiple playable characters... if yall keep posting thoughs that are the same that are already posted... ur just nuts and spamming since it been said before
I don't really consider the other two games part of the main series. The main series currently consists of ten games, from Final Fantasy through to Final Fantasy X. Games like Final Fantasy Tactics aren't direct sequels, they are really offshoots...they are basically side stories to the primary franchise. The main series has several major links, but those links don't always follow through to every single game, just to the majority of them.
 12. I'd live right here, in Melbourne, Australia. Beautiful scenery...beautiful, clean buildings...fresh, clean water...friendly people...lots of clubs and places to go...it just doesn't get anymore perfect :) Other than here, I'd live in Tokyo, Kyoto or Yokohama (IF I could speak Japanese, that is :))
 13.
Originally posted by Sephiroth graphics would be nice and all, but give me gameplay over graphics anytime....
I agree. I thought Sony had learnt its lesson with its ridiculous "3D only" policy of 1996. It looks like they didn't. They should be promoting fresh, new ideas rather than nice visuals and short games.
 14.
Originally posted by RicoTranzrig Great explanation:D I'm starting to wonder if PS2 is going to pay the price for not putting in "Built-In" features. Like the N64 paied in sound quality when it left out a sound processor. But the PSone seemed to manage with only 2Megs of Main ram and 1 Meg of VRAM@~35MhZ? (I forgot the core processor speed but it was a double digit number...)
Well, yeah. Sony sent a memo to developers specifically encouraging them to "spend more time on nice graphics and make shorter games" in order to compete with the likes of Nintendo and Microsoft. tsk tsk. Obviously, like with PSOne, developers will learn more and will learn ways of exploiting the technology to their advantage. It will mean that PS2 games will continually look nicer and will rival GCN and Xbox software. However, it's unlikely that PS2 games, in the end, will ever look as good as they could on GCN or Xbox. The technical limitations are just too strong in that regard.
 15. Here's a PS2 wallpaper I just made, to download for those who want it.
 16. I've been playing around a little more with my graphics program and I decided to make a GCN wallpaper for people to download. I'll make an Xbox and PS2 one in the future. This one is a little squashed...which sucks...but it should be okay for most people. When you set it to wallpaper, just stretch it so that it fills your screen. It should look okay. :)
 17. Here's another, using a similar red sky effect. This time, I used Nintendo 64, since the console is soon going to be replaced by GameCube.
 18.
Originally posted by Sephiroth I'm studying economics, I was surprised I got an A in my economics exam, but I'm also doing a small course in computing, not that I need to learn anything, its just a good qualification to have....
Yep. I agree. I'm starting a three month short course, "Introduction to 3D Studio Max". I want to see how I go with it...considering it's the standard for 3D in the game industry (along with Maya). If I do well, I'm going to do the second three month course at the start of 2002. Then I might go into a larger course, such as Industrial Design.
 19.
Originally posted by kuja well yes it was just a visual update... along w/ gameplay and a bunch of other things.... just like zelda was... thou they are both wonderful games... i prefer FF over zelda... hard choice yes... but cheaper games and longer games wins lol... thou i respect anyone who thinks different of me
I don't mind you liking FF more than Zelda, but Zelda: OoT was far more than just a visual update. Zelda: OoT invented so many new gameplay concepts which other games have immitated. The idea of real-time, day to night sequences...that was effectively started with Ocarina of Time. The famous Z-Targeting system started with OoT, which many games have copied (including games such as Syphon Filter). So Zelda 64 was the far more innovative game. But as for whichever is the best...that's hard to say. I like both equally and for different reasons.
 20.
Originally posted by Sephiroth I think the ps2 will be a must own console sometime in february/march, the games that are lined up for it are cool, and hopefully, they will release pso version2 for it as well....
I agree, it'll take a few more months, and possibly a price drop, but PS2 will be a must own console within the next year. Especially as we see Final Fantasy X hit the machine. As for PSO V2, it's very unlikely. Sega's various teams are supporting different platforms. Sonic Team, the makers of PSO, are supporting GCN and GBA with their games. If you want PSO V2, you're better off either buying a Dreamcast (since they're so cheap now) or a GameCube. I really hope that we see a sequel to NiGHTS on GameCube...that'd be very sweet.
 21.
Originally posted by Sephiroth I'd definately like to visit the US, which I will be doing sometime next year, also japan I'd like to visit, but I'll be moving there in 2-3 years time after I finish university.... speaking of university, I start next week, better start getting prepared....
Interesting. I'll be starting University in about a month's time (early October). Everyone seems to be moving onto other things... What are you studying?
 22.
Originally posted by Sephiroth ff7 was very meaningful to me, its even my favourite game of all time, I was very sad when I killed aeris, but since I'm so cool I forgave myself....
Yeah...that moment was so sad. Final Fantasy VII was the first game to really make me realize how powerful a game's story can be.
 23.
Originally posted by Navi HAHAHA! right after you tell me what your nationality is eh. yeah i like it when they use the word "bloody", "wanker", etc. not to mention the accents *promptly faints* i've never heard that british people are ugly though. i can kinda understand why they think americans are fat. when i tell people im from hawaii they make references to grass skirts, coconut bras, bushy hair, etc. read a history book buttface.
Ugh, I'm glad that the Crocodile Hunter now lives in the USA and NOT Australia lol. It was high time we kicked his butt out. hehe I'm glad that my accent isn't like his, he has a country accent. Warlock can probably attest to this...that city people in Australia sound different to country people. I always hated my accent...because I thought it was really annoying for people of other countries to listen to. But my partner is American and has told me on numerous occasions that Australian accents are really sexy lol. That sounds so weird to me. Does anybody actually like our accent? lol
 24.
Originally posted by Final_Flash You better believe it! And our Water over here... CHRISTCHURCH WATER OWNZ j00!!! o.O Just had to get that out of my system. But seriously, we have the best water supply in the world over here in beautiful Christchurch... :)
Hmm...I always heard that Melbourne had the cleanest water in any city on earth. My grandmother has been to New Zealand many times...she loves the scenery. And there is no doubting that. The scenery in NZ is incredibly beautiful. Only thing is, NZ might bore me a little. Do you guys have a lot of clubs and stuff in Wellington and Christchurch? 'cuz obviously my grandmother isn't going to clubs or something like that lol.
 25.
Originally posted by Voodookanaka That looks hella cool, but, Ok, Im really confused..........um.......u drew all that on comp? did u draw guy and add background? Theres no way that was drawn freehand...was it? .......yup, definately confused.....
Okay, well, Alucard himself was a picture I found on the Internet. The original picture's colours were very washed out, and the picture had been saved with limited colours. So basically, I touched up his colours, smoothed his edges (and cut away messy bits), then added the background. I then manually added lighting which matches the colour of the background. It's certainly not a very advanced thing at all, but I thought it looked good, and I wanted to share it with everyone. When we launch our new site, I'd like to show people some of the concepts that we had and never used, to illustrate how many phases the design went through.
