1. You think that's a bad day? My grandfather has been in hospital for the last week...and it looks like he won't come out alive. :(
  2. That's a fantastic picture Seph...very nice. I made this pic quite a while ago...infact, I was messing with the features on my graphics program, so it was never intended as a serious pic. But nevertheless, I noticed that I still have it on my hard disk...and I kinda like it in a way :)
  3.
Originally posted by firemac hmm, James, I could use someone like you on my staff, I need to add more gaming sections, I need someone to work on Fianl Fantasy, your website is nicem, I like it, almost as good as mine, hehe, maybe better
Heh, sorry, I don't think I could do that. What with Otaku Media and N-Sider combined, I'm already incredibly busy as it is. But thanks for the offer. Hmm...I really think it'd be a good idea for me to make my own homepage now, like a personal site. The last one I did was at Homestead a long time ago...it was really terrible lol But I think now I could do justice to it :)
  4.
Originally posted by GinnyLyn Lemme just say this much, TN is WAY over. Since you thought I might get mad, I won't, but gollY! 27 to 31?!? I won't be that for a LOOOOOONG time.
Yeah, Transtic is waay off. hehe I know Ginny's age...but I ain't tellin'. You'll just have to wait for it heh. ;)
  5. This is a terribly poor quality shot...but it is still interesting. It shows the boxes of three Japanese GAMECUBE games, including Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion and Wave Race: Blue Storm. The games come in a jewel case, much like a DVD but they also have a cardboard slip cover over the top which displays the cover artwork. Nonetheless, I think that the boxes look very cool.
  6. Uh yeah...those shots are from the original Soul Calibur on Dreamcast. Namco will probably release shots of SC2 at Space World next week.
  7.
Originally posted by firemac Do you have popular website, and when I mean popular, I mean more than 3,000 hits a day.
I've been working on a personal site for a little while now in GeoCities. It's just a small private thing that I was hoping to open one day...but of course, I just haven't had the time to work on it. I'm thinking of scrapping it and working on a personal homepage, I haven't really done something like that before. Final Fantasy Garden You can go there for a look at it if you like...but as I said, it's only half built. :( Tell me what you guys think!
  8.
Originally posted by Final_Flash There better be no size limit.. My avatar is too big!!
And yet you complained on the v2.0 boards that you didn't like the different sizes? *sigh* The things I have to put up with. :)
  9.
Originally posted by iggy the shots rule do u use a capture card to take the shots james?
Nope. In order to use that, I'd need to actually HAVE the game. lol Those pics come from Midway. I do have a program that allows me to take screenshots from regular PSOne games though. :)
  10.
Originally posted by bob like me...2487...8 months worth of posts...GONE...
Umm...it's just a number, it's no big deal. It's not like having a lot of posts is some kind of achievement, it just shows that you've either been here longer or are very talkative lol. This way it's better, not only because it's impossible to restore everyone's post counts, but also because it gives everyone the chance to move through all 10 new ranks and start on a level playing field. The only way to get your post count up is to participate...not spam. :)
  11.
Originally posted by Cecil Today i was looking through some of my magazines and saw that the sness had a modem but it wasnt a great succes... just thought you might want to know
What a lot of people don't know, is that Nintendo was experimenting with networking even before the days of the SNES. Nintendo had an electronic network for the Famicom in Japan. So in a way, Nintendo has more networking experience than any other console maker.
  12.
Originally posted by Cecil Illed get a dream cast but there is 3 resons i dont 1. Dont got enough money to buy it (Saving up for GCN) 2. If i do my mom would get really P.O (she already is cause i said im gonna bye GCN she always says that i got enough games already you already got ps2 why do you want more blah blah blah 3. If i did buy it i would probebly only get a few games than it would be a waste of my money *sigh i wish i was old enough to get a job
Dreamcast costs the same as a GBA...and in some cases, the games are even cheaper. Even if you bought a DC and two games...you wouldn't be wasting your money. But I understand that not everyone can save up and buy all these consoles...that's totally understandable. I'm just saying that people shouldn't pass over Dreamcast so easily, if everyone knew how great it was, it'd be the most successful console of the current generation without a doubt.

    DVDs
Originally posted by gundamcat17 just so everyone knows you have to buy ps2 compatible dvds... they are being released now but don't get your hopes up on buyin mononoke hime and having it work
Actually that's not quite correct. Any DVD that works in your region (ie: USA, I forget the zone number), should work on your American PlayStation 2. In some cases, you may find an incompatibility, but it's so rare that it's not worth worrying about. 99% of DVDs in your region will work fine on your PS2. I've watched many different movies on my PS2 so far and I haven't encountered a single problem.
  14.
Originally posted by zanza No, it means we don't give a flying **** about art. Not all of us take photography or art classes. I am a music person myself. When someone who isn't much of a music fan thinks Ayumi Hamasaki's album "Duty" is rock music, I don't cast them down because I know that it's only somewhat hard pop.
You don't have to have taken art classes, or even be interested in art to understand that the picture isn't designed with the intent of being sexual. All you need is at least half a brain to think about the picture and consider it's message. By the way, watch your language next time...that kind of language is inappropriate here.
  15.
Originally posted by DarkerSephiroth Missin out???I aint missin out i have 23 games for dreamcast and they all suck
Yeah, missing out. You must have bought the wrong games...or have no taste at all lol. Dreamcast is widely credited with having one of the best software lineups of any console out there, except perhaps for SNES. I feel that too many people avoided Dreamcast because of the history with Saturn...and that's a shame, because if you can't like Dreamcast...then I don't see how you could like PS2, GCN or Xbox. Dreamcast is really a symbol of what gaming is all about.
  16.
Originally posted by iggy its either sepiroth or hbomb
I think it'd be Seph. Sephiroth is about 21 or 22 I think. I think Hbomb is younger than Adam and I, but I'm not sure.
  17.
Originally posted by SSJ Spider-Man You now from what I have picked up FF is going to stay on sony since square has confirmd that. Both FF 10 and the other one which can be played over the net are going to stay on sony but.MGS2 might have a X-box counter part said IGN.com.
I seriously doubt that the Final Fantasy series will forever stay on Sony consoles. There are a few logical reasons for this, the main one being that Square has actually stated clearly "We will do everything we can to make games for a Nintendo machine". So clearly, something else is going on. I'd expect to see FFXI on PS2, GCN and possibly Xbox. As for XII and beyond, I think that if Square have a good experience with GCN, then they'll stay with PS2 and GCN in future.
  18.
Originally posted by DarkerSephiroth Will someone please delete his posts or bann him from otakuboards he is spamming like heck He continly makes new threads and just posts a # and a whole bunch of picks that dont work.
The more you talk about spammers the more they get what they want. Whenever someone spams like this, just IGNORE it. Don't even act like it's an issue! Otherwise they'll keep doing it. Just go about your business and ignore it.

    The Thing

The visuals are nice...easily as nice or nicer than Silent Hill 2, as I mentioned above. But sure, seeing the game in motion would really be a big plus. If the animation is great, then I don't see how anyone could declare that the visuals suck.
  20. IGNcube has finally officially revealed that Soul Calibur 2 is in development for arcade and GameCube by Namco. Namco is expected to make an announcment at Space World next week, and I for one hope that they show us some footage of the new game. ;) Lack of fighting games was one of the N64's weak points. But due to Namco's dissatisfaction with PlayStation 2, the company will be bringing the hit franchise to GameCube (as well as a new Ridge Racer possibly). What do you guys think about this news?
  21. Right now my fav system is the Dreamcast. Sooo many people have missed out on it...which is really a shame. It has some of the most unique games I've ever played in my life. Second to that would be PS2. It's only just starting to see some cool games being released. But once GCN comes out, I think that'll end up being my fav. I'm a lot more excited about GCN's launch than I was by PS2's launch.
  22. What I find most interesting about sexuality is that a lot of people talk about sexual "preference" rather than sexual "orientation". I don't think that anyone would choose to be in a group of people who are often looked down upon by society and religion. It's like saying that you chose to be straight... You never make that conscious decision, but as you go through puberty, girls become slightly less obnoxious to you :) I think that basically, nature makes you what you are. You can't change it. And talking about it as a defect or something...you can't take anything scientific out of it. To scientifically define sexuality is like defining love with mathematics...it will never work, because love is something that science just can't define. So I think that's the core problem, that people think you choose your sexuality. *shrug* Anyway, congrats to Transtic for being so open about it, it's good to see everyone being so supportive here.
  23.
Originally posted by zanza But I could sue Gackt for a lotta money... I'm a young, impressionable little boy, he shouldn't be giving me such ideas :)
Nonsense! His actions might even teach you some techniques and manouvers... ... Did I just say that? I seriously need to get some sleep now...
  24. Hmm, it looks like some chick holding up a baby...or a doll...or something. She doesn't look too happy either. -_-
  25. I think that Transtic is very bold for embracing his sexuality publically. I also think that most people here have been pretty mature about this. I mean, to view that picture as sexual, I think it means that you're missing the point. I did photography classes for two years during senior high school and it really opens your mind. You can learn to look at an image and read into it...and think about every aspect of its message. I think that, as BabyGirl said, any picture which shows love and compassion has a lot of power...regardless of the sex of the people in the photo. I remember last year when some of my friends were doing art classes...and they had to do a unit on life drawing (in other words, drawing naked people). At first their subject was a woman...and everyone was fine with that... and then about three weeks later, the school hired a guy as the model for the art class. And I didn't even consider it an issue, but some guys in the class actually didn't attend because it was a guy! lol The thought of worrying about the sex of the subject never even crossed my mind... Although I think that the people who complain about sexuality are the people who are also the most unsure and uncomfortable about their own sexuality, so it kind of hits close to home for them. That's definitely something to think about :) Wow, I feel like a grandpa telling stories to his grandkids lol
