Originally posted by NoEle Gackt just has a voice that I love to hear. But when he was in Malice Mizer, was that him singing "Shiroi" or was it Klaha? Becuase whoever sang that song, was god!
What if I told you the wrong person? Hmmm? It clearly doesn't matter that much since you can't tell them apart. But anyway, there's no song called "shiroi". I think you're thinking of "shiroi hada ni kuruu ai to kanashimi no rondo", which was sung by Klaha. And Due le quartz has been gone for over a year now. That's old news.

Is life really like a box of chocolates?
wrist cutter replied to Ashley_the_blr's topic in General Discussion
Originally posted by Baron Samedi For everyone who has said that life isn't a box of chocolates. You're 100% correct. However, if you take two seconds to look at the thread title, then you will see that the question posed is "Is life really like a box of chocolates". This means it is a metaphor which is something used as an example to get the idea across.
Awww, how cute. Actually, a simile is drawing a connection between two dissimilar things by using the words "like" or "as". Example: The blow was like a sledgehammer. A metaphor is a direct comparison between two dissimilar things. Example: The fist was a sledgehammer, delivering a powerful blow to my stomach. Nice try though. -
Let me take a more specific approach...
Originally posted by CB Shin Wrist Cutter, how many people do you know that are actually concerned with history that much? It is very important, yet the majority of the younger masses don't know a thing about him.
I honestly don't know anyone who doesn't know who Karl Marx is. I mean, obviously, ten year olds might not know who he is. But by high school I think most everyone is at least familiar with him, knowing that he was sort of the source of communism. -
Originally posted by CB Shin It's really a historical thing, so I don't expect that many people to know.
Isn't that sort of contradictory? Something as historical as Marxism and its founder is known by almost everyone because it is such an important part of history. -
Originally posted by Lady Asphyxia He makes the children believe in things when in this day and age, logic is prized.
Maybe because so few people ever use it.
Originally posted by lava lamp Somewhat random, but did you see their performance at MS Super Live 2003? Can't wait until February.
I take it you mean when they performed "HONEY" and "READY STEADY GO"? Yeah, I did manage to see that, I was so relieved that Hyde could still sing normally (after all that growling and yelling he was doing for his solo career...) I hate these type of lives where they just use pre-recorded instruments though.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel That is Five Years by David Bowie. It's the lead track on Ziggy Stardust. In my opinion, it's one of the best songs ever written.
I'll have to keep that in mind... Well while I'm here, I'm listening to: L'Arc~en~Ciel - THE GHOST IN MY ROOM "The Best of c/w" had a terrible design, I hope nobody got paid for making it. I'm reconsidering paying for it instead of buying all their individual singles (much more expensive, but much cooler).

I'm just gonna copy and paste. If you're so bored, I invite any of you to write my speech for me. It's on the economic and social impacts of World War I on the country of Russia. You'll need at least 3 sources (but probably more), no more than 1 of them being a website. Highlight important vocabulary as you go along. The length of the speech should be at least 7 minutes, if not longer. Have fun.
Originally posted by Kami "Another Story" by Janne Da Arc (February 2003) Probably my favorite album this year. All of the tracks are enjoyable, and have a much more ....eeeh.. well, it's hard to describe. It's still somewhat pop-rock-ish, but that's a good thing to me :D
I can't see why everyone is raving about this album being so great. It's a good album, but I think GAIA is just as good. But both albums aren't anywhere near as good as their first two, "D.N.A" and "Z-HARD", which in my opinion are Janne Da Arc's best works. Their indies mini-album "CHAOS MODE" was really great too.

I don't feel cool anymore, I haven't had a breakdown. Hopefully I'll have one this week.
Originally posted by duorocks17 BoA is another good group. They have lots of good songs like "Every Heart" and "Jewel Song".
BoA is one person, and on top of that, she's Korean. Only in recent years has she expanded out of the Korean market and produced Japanese music as well.
Originally posted by Inuyashafan418 And yes, wristcutter and wiccansamurai, I did mean the Religion part...My parents always drilled it into my mind that people could be offended by religion
And they certainly can... but there's a big difference between "I am of such-and-such faith" and "Those of such-and-such faith are idiots". Not EVERYTHING related to religion is instant offense (unless you're Jesse Jackson).

I'm just downright pissed. How could you say such a thing? I'm reporting this to James. I hope you're banned. ...really, how is that offensive? You mentioned religion? Oh boy.
Originally posted by lava lamp Porno Graffitti - "ai ga yobu hou he"
Of their four singles after WORLDILLIA, that was my least favorite. It was still great, but I liked the other three more. My favorite releases this year: Porno Graffitti - MELISSA BUCK-TICK - zangai GLAY - BEAUTIFUL DREAMER/STREET LIFE S.O.A.P. - GRACE ("gimme A guitar" was good too) Every Little Thing - Many Pieces SURFACE - I'M FINE THANK YOU AND YOU?

My desktop. I took this picture on a trip a few years ago and just recently found it again. It reminded me of the cover of Porno Graffitti's single "oto no nai mori". So I put that text up at the top. If you can tell me which city that is, I'll give you $100.
Originally posted by Japan_86 One spirit days, when I am supposed to where red, I wear the colors of the rival school just for the heck of it.
That sounds more like blind rebellion. I don't see how wearing red on a Spirit Day is a sign that you hide away your personality. If someone wants to show pride for their school on that day, they'll wear red. It's only conformity if they wear red just because other people are, even if they don't want to.
Originally posted by Ashley_the_blr I am tired of people using the same words, wearing the same things, doing the same activities. You're the only one who has been concerned with the way some people choose to follow others.

Well, I've had some bad experiences with these. There's this girl in our grade, let's call her "Amanda". She is really, really "mentally challenged" (she misspelled 'orange' for crying out loud) and really... disgusting to look at. She rarely changes clothes, showers, cleans herself in anyway... and she's huge too. You'd think she'd be unpopular, but surprisingly she has a few disgusting friends and even a repulsive boyfriend. Like any couple they like to make out and unfortunately, for a year, their spot to do it was my locker. Neither of them had lockers anywhere near mine, but they didn't care. They just picked a spot, leaned up against it, and away they went. It was awful. No way was I going to touch or speak to that writhing blob of skin and clothing. So for a year I suffered through this scene. Every other day that I went to my locker for lunch I'd see them there, so engrossed (perfect word) in each other to have no regard for anyone else who just might need to use their locker. So, in short, I'm against PDAs.

The Evil Creatures known as "Siblings"
wrist cutter replied to Hittokiri Zero's topic in General Discussion
I have an older brother and two older sisters... in fact, the third youngest in our family is 6 years older than me. It kind of makes me wonder why I'm here at all. But I've never had any problems with them. Even though I'm 12 years younger than him, my brother and I really get along great I think. We have some similar interests and personalities, and even though I can never beat him at basketball, I've been trying since as long as I can remember. So even if he is older, it's never really been a problem as I see it. I'm not as close to my sisters, mainly because we're nothing alike. But they've always been really nice to me, and we've never had any really serious problems. I know we've had a few times where we've been mad at each other, but it was always a very short-term thing. Whenever people go off about how they 'hate' their siblings, I can never quite imagine such a feeling because mine have always been so great. -
Originally posted by Hells Fire I even offered to pay the monthly bill on the car
Woah, you're being way too generous. Maybe you should make your parents cough up that monthly bill too and offer to just pay for gas instead.
