Originally posted by scrmngfangrl i got a chinese edition of kisou for 15 bucks. kyo's voice is awesome, even when the words are chinese. kinda makes me feel like i ripped them off. hehe
You just wasted $15 on a bootleg. By spending $15 on this CD you have: a) Supported thieves. b) Not supported the band in any way. c) Wasted your money. d) Spent money on a CD you might as well have burned yourself. So, yes, you did rip them off I'm afraid to tell you.

Changing of Sexes. [Maturity should be must]
wrist cutter replied to Mitch's topic in General Discussion
Originally posted by James So for people who do feel that way...I can only say that I can't imagine how uncomfortable and traumatic it must be.
And so a sex change is the answer? I honestly think these people should try to get some kind of mental therapy as opposed to just changing their sex. After all, what differentiates the genders? At the most basic level, just our reproductive organs. But other than that, scientific research has shown that men and women think differently (surprise surprise) when it comes to many things. We just watched a video on this in psychology. And yet while watching it, I noticed there were some areas that I think I fall more into the "female" side... does that mean I was born into the wrong body? Of course not. There's no "100% female" or "100% male" out there. It's not like men and women have preset minds. I was born male, that's clearly how God/nature (whichever you prefer) intended it. If someone truly believes they were born in the "wrong" body, then I think there's psychological issues here. Changing your genitalia doesn't change who you are. Rather than getting some operation, they should find out why they've been led to believe they have the wrong body in the first place. And I bet, upon really figuring things out, they will realize what's going on with them. -
Good luck with that... while I honestly think, with enough thought and effort, the club could actually be a worthwhile experience for people, I can't imagine you getting much of a response. Maybe it's just where I live, but by taking Japanese you are automatically a loser. I imagine that, if we had a club, by joining it you'd be worsening your social status even more. Few people are going to do that. So I'd say, if you really want this thing to take off, make sure you have the right motivation going around. I'm not sure what it should be yet, but don't just put up advertisements like "Wanna learn Japanese!? Join the Japanese Club!". Don't even say "Join the Japanese Club", it just screams "this club is for geeks". It's a very tender area that would be hard to gain a bunch of support for. But good luck nonetheless.
Originally posted by Roxanne Leifen Oh...really?! *so didn't know that* I thought he did do the singing...blah...i have everyone mixed up in my head and im confused and its late....so please forgive me for messing up. ^^;; I must have misread stuff and gotten people backwards. I'm sorry. Well whoever sang "forever love" i loved their voice! *nods* Oh ya now i remember, it was Yoshiki who wrote the lyrics and the music for that song. Duh me! God Im a blond, and im not even blonde.....i just have my moments...you know what i mean right?
No, I don't really know what you mean. I've never confused Toshi for Yoshiki. Seeing as Toshi is vocalist, there's a good chance it was him singing "Forever Love". And judging by the fact it sounds like the same guy who sang 99% of X's other songs, I'd say it's pretty obvious.
Originally posted by Roxanne Leifen i have a picture of yoshiki in langerie...hehe, sexy::nosebleed::
I have a picture of him wearing only underwear with a bunch of hands groping at him. It's the cover of Jealousy: Big deal.
Originally posted by Roxanne Leifen X-Japan's vocalist, Yoshiki has a wonderful voice as well, especially in "Forever love" the acoustic version. Its so beautiful. And the translation of it is beautiful as well. Just ties together ya know?
I can tell you're a big X fan. Yoshiki was pianist/drummer. Toshi was vocalist.

I assure you nothing will happen if you try to summon Bloody Mary. I've heard numerous methods to do it, and have tried most of them. You know what resulted? A wet mirror.

To be or not to be – that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles And, by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep – No more – and by a sleep to say we end The heartache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to – 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep – To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub, For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause. There's the respect That makes calamity of so long life. For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, Th' oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely, The pangs of despised love, the law's delay, The insolence of office, and the spurns That patient merit of th' unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? Who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death, The undiscovered country from whose bourn No traveler returns, puzzles the will And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than to fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all, And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought And enterprises of great pitch and moment With this regard their current turn awry And lose the name of action.

I will agree that life is at its peak when you're asleep. However I rarely recall my dreams.

I actually have the damn thing downloaded onto my computer. When you have reached this point, people just don't care about what your opinions are anymore. "He has a good point... but this is the same guy who listens to the Mentos song on his computer."
-
I'm embarrassed about pretty much everything I listen to. But in particular, I like "Escape" by that Enrique Iglesias guy. It's an annoyingly catchy song. Even worse is that I love the Mentos song. So what if it's only 30 seconds! It can really get caught in your head.

The thing to remember is that, no matter what you do to forget your stress, it only works temporarily. Right when you stumble back in the door after running a few laps, all that stress is still there. The only way to effectively deal with stress is just get rid of the thing causing stress. Big school project you're worried about? Don't read a book to forget about it; just get a good start on the project and you'll feel much better about it. Granted, there are things outside of our control that stress us - which is unfortunate, because they shouldn't really. If there's nothing you can do about it, just remind yourself about that fact. You can't change things, so don't worry about them and let time sort them out.

Seems like we had a thread similar to this a few months back and it got closed... Besides, lots of people say lots of things which they know very little about. We could have thousands of threads like this.

A good rule to follow is not using apostrophes when pluralizing words. Might wanna think about that one.

I turned the brightness factor on the text down a bit. Now it's an off-white #CCCCCC. I know I personally like this much better... so it'll probably stay this way (no matter what you think!). I changed the links too. Not sure how sold on these I am yet... do you like it? Suggestions? "I'm not sure I like the way the links in the menu are sort of in pairs, it looks a little odd to me." I was thinking sort of the same thing too, but I couldn't think of a better way to arrange them. Any ideas?

Another site, another layout. Since this is something I actually put some effort into, I'm kinda wondering what you all think of the layout for this website: http://musichour.sweet-insanity.net And if you're not too busy take a look around. Just get a good idea of what the site looks like. If you have multiple browsers, you might wanna look at the site in each of them as some handle CSS differently. Please specify which browser you're using if you so decide to respond. Also, I think I've heard that Macintosh doesn't cope well with *.shtml? If you're using a Mac, I'd like to know what you see in this website as well. I initially used black for the font color, but that turned out too dark. Now I think the white is a bit too bright, but more readable. I'm not sure what to do with that. Other than that, it seems a bit sparse for graphics, but maybe I'll spruce it up in that area later.

Short version: Would you stop seeing a person (as in, romantically) due to differing opinions on political issues? Longer version: I was watching Seinfeld and Elaine had just found the perfect guy. When she explained to Jerry that she wouldn't eat at a certain pizza place because the owner there was pro-life. Jerry asked where her new, perfect boyfriend stood on this subject, and suddenly she realized she didn't know. As it turned out, he was pro-life, and so she stopped dating him. So I'm wondering if you would do this too. Not just abortion either. Is there some political/religious/scientific subject that you are just so emphatic about that you couldn't date someone who didn't agree with you? And this doesn't mean you can't be friends with this person or anything... for friendship I think most people can look past such things. One thing to keep in mind is that I'm thinking in terms of a life-long partner here. If you're considering someone for marriage (or your equivalent, if that isn't a possibility for you), what subjects must they agree with you on?
Originally posted by kenshinsbabe well, I don't have many accompishments. . . i learned how to count in Japanese up to 100
Since when did this become an accomplishment thread? Anyway, I know how to count to 999,999,999,999,999,999,999 in Japanese, so blah to you. kyuugai kyuusen kyuuhyaku kyuujuu kyuukei kyuusen kyuuhyaku kyuujuu kyuuchou kyuusen kyuuhyaku kyuujuu kyuuoku kyuusen kyuuhyaku kyuujuu kyuuman kyuusen kyuuhyaku kyuujuu kyuu. I take it 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 would just be juugai? If so... I could go on for awhile.

James and the other staff have been considering this for a long time. I suggest you PM every staff member individually and tell them about your great idea, it will come into existance faster that way.

Just listen to Dir en grey, and if you don't like them, give up. Everyone who has ever listened to Japanese rock music has some crazy obsession with this band, so if you don't like them, it's probably just not for you. But Semjaza's pretty much right. Most of it is outdated and bad. Don't feel like you need to get into j-rock just because it's currently gaining popularity (actually, Dir en grey is gaining popularity). Most of it is just a rip-off of Western **** anyway, and the stuff that isn't is just garbage most of the time. There's some great music that comes out of Japan, but you aren't going to like it. So anyway, point is: if you're comfortable with what you're already listening to, don't bother with Japanese music. If you, for some reason, want to listen to Japanese rock music, just try Dir en grey. They're all anyone cares about anymore.
