There are many Hispanics in my school... they undoubtedly make up at least 25% of the total population of it. There are maybe less than 20 black people at my school, all of which hang out in just one group. Maybe less than 10 Asians total. And everyone else is just a white person.

I'm sorry, your plans for your future are not very logical and seem more like "my dream of the month" rather than some lifelong calling.

You shouldn't move to Japan. Obviously your dad can't control you by the time you're actually ABLE to live there by yourself, so you can try for it if you want. But I don't understand why everyone has this need to live in Japan to do what they want to do... can't you make music for video games here?

You know, I think you're the first person to ever think of that. Anywhere.
Originally posted by terra Unfortunately, I couldn't see any of your links, wrist cutter ... they all give me a 404 error.
Bleh. All the images are fine, it's just that hypermart isn't working right now... wait awhile and you'll be able to see all my pretty layouts OK.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I assume just music CDs?
Yeah. Oh, and go ahead and include CDs you burned yourselves (thieves!). Though maybe separate them, that might be helpful to me.
Originally posted by DeathBug I also do not believe that following every single little religious law is going to get me into Heaven. I believe that being a good person will.
I think you're a little off here, but correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm sure I am). But as far as I know you don't get to heaven by helping some elderly lady to her car or throwing away someone else's trash. It isn't the deeds that get you to Heaven. It's your love for God. That's it. Your love for God will get you to Heaven. And along with that love come all those good deeds - you want to please the ones you love, don't you? It's not just a religious thing, it applies to human relationships as well. You please God when you do things such as this.

This isn't just some random question, I actually plan on using this information. Anyway, the title pretty much says it all. Some of you may have CDs just lying around that you've had since you're 3 and haven't listened to in 10 years... don't count those. Just the ones you've bought recently/still enjoy. Like if you have one of those cases for your CDs, just count those.

From St. Louis to Tokyo and Back Again: A Dream
Originally posted by Cocomi Myojin I want to move to Japan and become an Anime artist. Call it a far off dream, but I feel quite approving myself of this.
I wouldn't bet on it. Citizenship is damn near impossible to get in Japan, unless you're a seal (yes... they gave a seal citizenship). It's not easy to just go find a house and buy it, or anything of that sort. And besides that, no Japanese person wants some wannabe anime/manga drawn by a white devil. I suggest you shoot for something different. I mean, I don't wanna destroy your dreams... but I really doubt it's going to work out for you (and not you specifically, but really anyone with that "plan"). -
Originally posted by AkumaAoshi Is it just me or do older brothers ALWAYS take out their anger on their younger siblings?
My brother was never really angry. If he was, he didn't ever show it. He was always more than nice to me... he and I have a good relationship I'd say.
Originally posted by Mitch Well, looks great, Tony. I am taking Computer Programming next year...maybe that will help me get more into this stuff. Don't know. O.o.
Computer programming, assuming it's the same at my school, won't cover any web stuff. You'll learn how to make Craps games instead of websites, heh. Anyway, I've made a few layouts in my day. They're all linked to screen captures I took of them, so some gradients come out looking kinda crappy. fragment of memory This is my only layout that doesn't use frames of some sort. It's always one of my favorites, I just sort of like the way it laid out. The background image actually looked a bit better than that. It was edged right up against the left side of the screen, so there was a big white gap to the right if you have a resolution bigger than 800x600. YUBIKIRI Probably my favorite layout. I try to avoid using black backgrounds, because they're so overused anymore, but what can I say, they just look so cool heh. Overall, this layout just worked really well... and it had little hide gifs at the end of every update, which makes it better than all the rest by default. flower This was going to be used for a fanlisting but someone beat me and already had a L'Arc~en~Ciel fanlisting, the bastard. So this never got used, but I like it. The members picture on the right loaded a random member each time, so you got someone different everytime you came. This was the first layout in which I really went crazy with the CSS too, now that I use it all the time. MUSIC HOUR My latest work, I don't like this one very much. It was hard to work with the rainbow theme... and the end result is just kinda corny (and the rainbow theme is from WORLDILLIA, I'm not gay >_>;). This is another fanlisting, you can see Transtic Nerve and I are the only two members heh (it's not open yet anyway). Again, the background image doesn't really look so crappy. It's just the screen capture. This is the "splash image". I just like it. I also have a website, LOVE STATION. Again, black background. But generally I just played around with this, it wasn't supposed to be a real marvelous thing though I do think it looks pretty cool in the end here. My CD Collection site also looks pretty cool, but it's not much of a design layout or anything.
Originally posted by Raiha This isn't about sex, that's a stupid argument, and you're starting to piss me off.
My post was only in response to this specific suggestion: "You obviously enjoyed the food you were eating when you consumed it, so don't stress about the consequences that come with it." (the part that was quoted). The fact about sex was only there as an analogy to show how that was not a very good way of thinking. It's not just sex or food that you should consider the consequences of when making a decision. If you disagree with that idea, I really wonder how you make any decisions. Whether it's having sex or just buying a Twix bar, it's still a decision and the consequences of either should be considered. There are lots of good things with bad consequences. You can't just ignore the bad in order to enjoy the good.
Originally posted by Magdalena You obviously enjoyed the food you were eating when you consumed it, so don't stress about the consequences that come with it.
People enjoy sex when they're doing it too. The consequences can be horrible.

If you're not happy with your weight, then lose it. Especially if you're at 138. Just cut out all the snacks in your diet, and maybe watch what you eat a little more carefully. You'll drop a few pounds from doing this and be down to a more ideal weight. I was in your situation awhile ago. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look fit - I think everyone wants it. You get a sense of accomplishment once you have reached a better weight and will feel significantly better about yourself. The thing is, you should feel comfortable with yourself. If you don't, there's a problem. And personally I can't understand how anyone would be entirely comfortable with their weight if they were very overweight. Looks are important. However, it's not as subtle as many people think. Dropping from 138 pounds to, say, 120, will make very small noticable differences - but you will feel much better anyway.

dream theater (and im not talking about dream street)
wrist cutter replied to nkid99's topic in Noosphere
I got "The Great Debate", it sounded really cool. I love the beginning, sounds like something that could play during a movie related to that type of stuff (like GATTACA). Some of the middle, like that repetitious "life to save life", could get annoying... but generally it was pretty cool. These guys are really good... how many members does Dream Theater have? But yeah, now that I've heard this song, I realize John is a great guitarist. That guy had a great solo in this song, fitting very well with the music. This guy really is one of the best guitarists I've ever heard... just from this one song mostly, heh. I'll try checking out more of their songs. Some of their more "metal"-ish parts I don't care for, but much of the arrangement is very well done.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I'll definitely have to check out X JAPAN. I'll wind up buying something of theirs if it's that comparable to Dream Theater (or just great by itself heh)... I can't stand the MP3 quality I get online.
Well keep in mind, X JAPAN is OLD. This is early '90s stuff, and it's Japanese, so subtract 10 years anyway heh. The sound quality is not exactly great, even on my CDs. And in general, you don't find songs like this anymore, the vocals and style of guitars and such are considered "outdated" nowadays. Dream Theater is more modern, but kind of the same idea. -
Driver's High by L'Arc~en~Ciel - this song introduced me to a style of music I had never heard before, and does it better than anything else I've ever heard. As if in a dream by L'Arc~en~Ciel - So beautiful... I have never heard a song with so much emotion. flower by L'Arc~en~Ciel - another beautiful song attached to many memories. Every Breath You Take by The Police - I think The Police were the reason I'm so into music now. They were "my first band". Canon in D - It's a classical piece, but the melody is unforgettable. Boy that was hard to narrow it down to five songs.

I listened to the entire 42 minute song... it wasn't really much of a song, rather just 8 separate tracks that blended together on the ends. Though apparently one of the tracks was "reprised"... it still didn't feel like just one song. But nonetheless it was really cool. I didn't like two of the parts, "War Inside my Head" and "The Test That Stumped Them All". I agree with Semjaza though, "Goodnight Kiss" was definitely the best section. Overall I was impressed though. I'm guessing these guys aren't too popular? A shame. I tried numerous times to get "The Great Debate" but never could. So I can't really judge just how good this John Petrucci guy is. I'll try some more later tonight. On a slightly irrelevant note, I couldn't help but notice that when I searched for "Dream Theater", I brought up X JAPAN. With good reason - I think you guys should check X out if you like Dream Theater. They have a few songs that are definitely a metal and classical type mix, similar to Dream Theater. In particular, the half an hour "ART OF LIFE" should be heard if you're into long stuff with clever instrumentals. But I highly recommend you all listen to "ROSE OF PAIN" - a 12 minute masterpiece in my opinion. I'd take X's hide and PATA to John Petrucci anyday, judging from "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" heh. "Silent Jealousy" and "kurenai" are also good picks if you want to hear more metal+classical from X, on the shorter side (both are around 7 minutes in length). -
That's actually really cool. The color scheme is very nice. However, the background is a little "blah"... it's just lines. It'd be nice to have something a little more interesting back there. But other than that I really like it. Looks good.
Originally posted by duorocks17 Rhythm Emotion and most of the Gundam Wing songs were performed by Two-Mix, who in my opinion is one of the greatest J-Pop artists. They also did songs like "Last Impression", "White Reflection", and "Truth".
Yeah, Two-Mix is really the epitome of Japanese music.
Originally posted by Solo Tremaine There's that side of it, but anything sexual also has the emotional side of it too. Anything that happens online shouldn't be disregarded- it's still 'real', even if it happens to be on the other side of a screen several thousand miles away. So either way, it's still a big jump in a relationship. Even pretending to have sex with someone is a big step, and I'd personally agree with Sere.
I'd have to disagree. Ever heard of a "one night stand"? Pretty hard to argue that there's a lot of emotion in that. And the majority of people who cyber are looking for nothing more than that. People who want a relationship with someone aren't going to look on the internet - and if they are, I doubt they're all that interested in cybering with that person. Really, if you're a good friend with someone online, and have a good relationship, how on earth could you cyber with that person? It'd be embarrassing. You'd feel stupid the whole time you're doing it because you realize nothing is actually happening other then two people masturbating over what is conjured up in their imaginations. You're not getting to know this person more intimately by typing dirty messages to them. There is no virginity online. You cannot lose your virginity by cybering. To lose virginity there has to be sex - even if you're one of those people who thinks virginity is more than a state of mind than anything else. If you could lose your virginity cybering, you could lose your virginity having a really good conversation apparently. It's not just about being engrossed in the moment - it's having a certain sexual organ be put in another. Whether or not you like to cyber is irrelevant. If typing sexual messages online really gets you off, good for you. That's none of my business. But I can't imagine there being any emotion in 99% of cybering that goes on in the internet. In that 1% case it is two people who think they are advancing their relationship by cybering... well good luck to them. I can't imagine them feeling like they have strengthened their bonds with each other after they were done. They're probably just toweling up the mess and thinking, "wow, did that really accomplish what I wanted?" Of course not. They did nothing but satisfy themselves. There was nothing emotional about it. It was only a way to satisfy yourself for a night.
