So you got kids...now watcha going to name them?
wrist cutter replied to Yu Yu Hakusho!'s topic in General Discussion
I'd want to name them something normal, but not completely overused like "John" or... "Chris" :P I can't really think of any examples other than my nephew's name, Andrew, which I think is a really good name. But something along those lines. -
I prefer the other messageboard I frequent, but this place certainly isn't too bad. Otakuboards has its pros and cons, but the sheer size of it is what makes me come here...
-
I recommend a song called "blue jewel", it's by the group "move". I really like the song... but other than that I don't listen to much trance even though I usually like it.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Mnemolth [/i] [B]I can honestly say that. Tho I've had girlfriends trying to dress me up by buying me stuff. What is with that anyway? Why is it girls have this irresistable need to makeover a guy?? :p [/B][/QUOTE] They're embarrassed being seen with you obviously :P

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by James [/i] [B]They sure have.[/B][/QUOTE] Interesting... I started learning about evolution in 6th grade in science. And I know others who have told me about learning it in school too.
-
I used to like them about 7 years ago... but uh, not much to say other than that.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Queen Asuka [/i] [B]I hit High School. Ninth grade was so tough because I couldn't figure out where I was. I tried to dress Goth, and all the Goths loved me and I had so many guys who thought I was so cool. [/B][/QUOTE] I can't really imagine you dressing goth... weird. Anyway I've never really had many problems with people and how I dress. Back in 6th grade, I used to wear sweatpants to school when it was cold. One day someone told me I should just wear jeans because I looked like a dork... so since then I've worn jeans, and clothing hasn't been a big deal ever since.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by James [/i] [B]I don't even know why there is a [i]need[/i] to call a truce. I just feel as though under every circumstance, you've created stumbling blocks for me for no reason. And that's kind of what I'm asking -- [i]why[/i] does that happen?[/B][/QUOTE] I'm not really sure why. I can't tell you. That's why I suggested you just ban me now... I'm never making your job any easier or doing any good for the board. Maybe we call it truce this time but sooner or later I'll really slip up or you'll just get sick of me. Transtic Nerve once said you and I were in some ways the same person, just on the opposite side of everything.
-
So then, we're calling it "truce" for now? Also, I'm wondering if you realized that "wrist cutter" is one of the many names I've been here with. I've also been zanza, white out and haruka (though that name doesn't seem to show up in the member database). Under every name we seem to have the same hostility.
-
I wasn't immediately satisfied with your threats to ban me after I said I bypass the swear censors when there is a decent reason... which you generally seem to agree with given by your last post. Meanwhile someone is parading around with "**** you" clearly displayed in his/her banner (in this very thread even) and yet I'm the one who's being told to watch it or be banned. Of course that's just this case. Usually I don't feel like there's any great injustice being done against me here. I don't know what it is about you, James, but it certainly isn't that you're in a position of power. I'm friends with the admins of a different board, one in which I've risen to the rank of moderator actually. So your position isn't it. You say things like "I know you're intelligent enough to..." or "you're reasonable enough to not be immature", but maybe I'm not. Have I ever shown you otherwise?

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by James [/i] [B]By the way, the word you overrode was "J A P", correct?[/B][/QUOTE] Yes, that was it. I think there's a post I recently made where I said the butt synonym as well, but I don't remember where it's at.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by James [/i] [B]And if I catch you doing that, I will ban you. [/B][/QUOTE] [url=http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18939]Here[/url]. Read my post. You caught me. Go ahead and ban me, I can see I'm well deserving. Just get it over with.

i am bursting with questions can someone help me
wrist cutter replied to Nim's topic in Help & Feedback
Well, the second img tag in your signature needs to be /img. And it probably doesn't show up because it's in .png format... -
I think my school is strange or something, because being weird is normal here. Everyone here is a walking cliche - goth, skater, punk, geek, etc. There 'normal' people are quite outnumbered here. Just don't worry about it... it's high school. In ten years nobody is going to care about what 'group' they fit into.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Sara [/i] [B][size=1]Okay, [i]here's[/i] a question. Using symbols to bypass the censors is forbidden, yes? I was simply wondering.. Becuse if it is a rule, it seems to be the least-enforced rule here.[/size] [/B][/QUOTE] Well, I think there are times when use of a word that is censored here is OK... and in such times I just bypass the system.

Well some Christians look at their religion the wrong way. The point of Christianity is not "Follow the Ten Commandments and all the rules in the Bible to avoid burning on a cross in Hell for eternity." But some people look at it that way... so they end up doing good things out of fear. This is the wrong approach to Christianity... The point is simply "Love God". That is all... if you love God, and put faith in him, that is all you need to do. There is no fear of hellfire for these people and these are the true Christians.

Ya know, I've never read the rules and here I am, still actively posting. The rules here are just common sense things... I can sum them up in one sentence: "don't be a retard." If you just do common sense things like place things in the right forum, not post multiple times in a row, don't spam etc. It's not like an instant ban for a double post or anything either. I don't think anyone should even have to read the rules to understand how to post here... it's not that difficult. The rules are mainly to give those who like to piss and moan over why they're banned a solid reason. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by REVENGE2 [/i] [B]By the way, you were a bit mean. Mellow out a bit. Life is far to short to spend time comming up with ways to indirectly flame me. Instead - find out how high you can count. Get a girlfreind. If you have one, ask her to go out to a movie or something. Something actually WORTH wasting time on [/B][/QUOTE] Life is also too short to be complaining about a clock that's one minute off, or coming up with multiple e-mail addresses and screen names on a message board for really petty reasons. And if you knew TN at all, he actually does have a life, and friends, and such. If anyone should be taking that advice it's you.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Juuthena [/i] [B]Hmm... My dad told me Korean was somewhat similar to Japanese, so I guess I'll give it a shot. ^_^; You could do Lauren in Korean, but it would sound alot different, because each of the characters need a 'root' syllable to make it a full 'letter'. For example, you can't have the sound 'd' without a vowel sound along with it, sorta like a syllable in a word in English. So, you poster prolly has a letter 'd', and a letter 'a' somewhere else. That doesn't necessarily mean the sound makes a complete letter. You have to put a consenent (sp?) sound with a vowel sound to make a full letter. ^_^;[/B][/QUOTE] Do you speak Korean, Juu? Anyway, you're correct. I have a few Korean friends who have been teaching me their language at a very slow rate. The writing systems do have some similarities in that characters do not impart a single sound but a full syllable - however in Japanese, it is just consanant + vowel. In Korean, I believe you can combine up to four sounds into one character...

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by REVENGE2 [/i] [B]I personaly think the best thing anyone could do with their time is to simply burn any book which tells you how you should live your life, and instead simply go with the flow and do what YOU think is right. [/B][/QUOTE] Anyone who has no religious faith is really in no position to be saying such things. Besides, religious people are doing what they think is right. So if you disagree with that lifestyle of not being completely independent and living for yourself, cry about it.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by REVENGE2 [/i] [B]If God is timeless and spaceless, he therefor does not exist in time or space. The problem in that, you see, is this: It's somehwat reasonable that he does not exist in time, but seeing as space is EVERYTHING, where did God come from? The universe is EVERYTHING, after all. [/B][/QUOTE] Actually, isn't the universe expanding or shrinking or something? If so, that means that it isn't everything because it is shrinking or expanding within something larger. Or maybe not - I don't think you or I are in any position to start declaring what is and isn't everything. I think Ajeh said pretty well what people believe God to be... above time and space, something more. Outside of our normal dimensions, something we simply cannot understand.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Transtic Nerve [/i] [B]I mean really, if wristcutter is taking sides against you and with James, you have obviosuly done something wrong[/B][/QUOTE] Yeah, really. The only other time I'd side with James is with a gun to my head :) Heh heh. And if you're curious as to how you made an arse of yourself: 1. Start 'threatening' the admins (by saying you'll come back). Is that any way to get unbanned? Really, use your head. 2. Demonstrated what you said was a lesser person (continually re-signing up to annoy admins) 3. Telling the admins they're heartless... another genius way to get unbanned 4. Repeatedly posting how you were not repeatedly posting 5. Stupidly insulting Justin (and it's 'conceited') 6. Commenting on a CLOCK with a third post, breaking numerous rules As for a fair use of your time, since you apparently have plenty of it, I suggest taking a nice long bubble bath with a cup of decaff. Blah blah blah... here's some other things you did wrong: [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by REVENGE2 [/i] [B]-I figured that as long as REVENGE was going to be banned, I might was well break a few minor rules. What's the point of that one, anyway?[/B] See, the point would be to demonstrate that you can be a good member of the boards, rather than breaking as many rules as possible, ensuring your banishment. I mean, perhaps through a calm personality they would reconsider. Just maybe. [b]-I made an idiot out of myself as Rogue Shadows. THERE! I said it. I was a fool. I was a fool without a girlfreind and with FAR too much spare time. YOU sit in front of a computer for 6 hours and try not to get annoyed very easily. That was me.[/b] Making an idiot out of yourself as all your other screen names too. And really, not having a girlfriend/spending too much time on the computer is no excuse... especially if your girlfriend has problems like you stated later. [b]-What have you been smoking? That wasn't mature. I specificly made myself NOT be mature as REVENGE[/b] Not that REVENGE is mature or anything. [b]My 'revenge' is simply me laughing from the sidelines as I go about normal otaku buisness here, and none of you being any the wiser.[/b] Yeah, you're really clever. [b]>Rogue Shadows was created to come here. He was banned >NeoRogueShadows was created to come back here; in hopes that I could perhaps get along with everyone. He, too, was banned, and for no apparant reason >REVENGE was created to talk to you people and tell you my MASTER PLAN >REVENG2 was created to again talk to you people, but only to reply to any posts which have happened. REVENGE and REVENGE2 are Kamakazi incarnations of me. When I'm mad. I'm not angry yet, though. If I was angry, I would learn to hack simply to see this board burned to ashes around me. But it takes a LOT to get me angry. [/b] Now see, signing up with a name like REVENGE is not the best way to talk to people about being unbanned. For someone so 'clever' (please note the sarcasm) I'm sure you could imagine that you don't come off as very kind. [b]-I knew that REVENGE would get banned anyway, so I figured I'd break as many rules as possible. [/B] Again, that was your biggest mistake. If REVENGE was to talk with us about your MASTER PLAN, then you might try to not break so many rules. [/QUOTE]

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by REVENGE [/i] [B]Simply put, the easy way to get around it is to simply make up a new e-mail address, log out of your previous screen name, and sign up with a new screen name using the new e-mail address.[/B][/QUOTE] They'll just ban your IP... then you can sign up for all the e-mail services you want with no success. Really, there are better things you can be doing with your time. I was about to side with you, but then you just go and make an a[i][/i]ss out of yourself (like you probably did the first time around too).

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! [/i] [B]I KNOW....but that is what the paper has on it. Maybe I'll try to scan it so you can see what I mean. [/B][/QUOTE] Please do, I'd like to see it.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! [/i] [B]I was just talking about the English Alphabet in Kanji...like A B C D....you get the picture. [/B][/QUOTE] ...but there is no "b" kanji. There is "ba", "bi", "bu", "be" and "bo"... but no "b". And C would be completely useless (except when in "ch" like "cha")... you either use S or K.

[QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Yu Yu Hakusho! [/i] [B]What is my name in Japanese? I have the Chinese/Japanese Kanji chart with our Alphabet and I did my name in Japanese Kanji, letter by letter. L A U R E N 0_o [/B][/QUOTE] Interesting. Especially considering the Japanese do not have L. AND even more interesting in the fact that the Japanese use syllables in speech, not individual letters. kanji pronunciations are often multisyllabic. And to have a chart... that would be interesting considering there are 2,000 kanji in Japanese for 'daily use'. I hear the Chinese have simplified theirs down to about 255 however.
