It would depend on the type of Game Shark it was. If you have the one that hooks into the back of the PSX, you're totally out of luck. If you have that memory card version, it may work... However, I can't confirm this as I don't know anyone with a Game Shark lol. Sorry.

They have some things to play with in just the series alone (as opposed to just making things up). ADAM in Metroid Fusion is a good example... and if they want to go even earlier, they could use the real Adam that Fusion refers to a few times. What matters is Samus, Metroids, the Chozo and Space Pirates... other than that, I think they could do anything and it would work. Assuming it was done well.

People sure jump to conclusions quickly. It was just a question. Somehow I doubt most people have read more than a handful of these, but no matter.

Now that there are so many of these, I have to ask... Is anyone even reading half of them?

I believe that's more of an inside joke type thing for her and those involved... based on all those Yaoi threads and such. I thought it was pretty funny, honestly... I would have liked to have seen more of the newbs lol. I'm kind of confused by my role in it though heh.
Originally posted by amibasuki I looooooove peaches. best fruit in the world.
Peaches gross me out. The area around that massive seed in the center just looks disgusting. Like an bloody, festering wound... Ick. Mangos are the best fruit there is... assuming they're ripe.

Yes, it would be against the rules. It wouldn't generate any real conversation. It's the equivalent of a yes or no question. Much to my dismay, OB doesn't have much of a androgynous community. I have to go elsewhere for my fix... If you really want to know that badly, then IM or PM the person.

I'm looking forward to it. A safe comparison would be to call this the fantasy version of Advance Wars (although with more story). I don't know that the GBA versions are looked back on as fondly as the older versions by the Japanese fans... but I'll take what I can get. The bonus disc for Mario Kart has some downloadable extras for this game... Good thing I'll be getting both :D I think this comes out in November... the 15th or something?

I can't find anything that I really consider a fault in this. Apparently many people are much more sensitive to color than I am... because I had no problem with the scheme now or when I looked at it this morning (although I didn't mess with the links, no time lol). People had similiar comments about my site... maybe it's not as bad here because I'm on a LCD screen? Anyway, I like the crimson-ish color scheme. People seem to have a very hard time successfully pulling off a mostly red layout. The background tile is cool too, reminds me of scales. I like the thread title, by the way lol

I've not tried a lot of Japanese music, but most of it just sounds so dated to me. Based on what I have heard, I don't see the appeal of it over many similiar bands around here, but that's me. And no, I'm not wanting to debate that... so just leave it as it is: my opinion. Out of the twenty or so that I've personally tried (not a couple songs... at least a dozen apiece off various releases), the only J-Rock band that has ever stood out was the Pillows. I found out about them about two years ago now, I believe. I had some MP3s way back, but they're long gone. I finally got some CDs of theirs in the mail the other day. Another Morning, Another Pillows and something else I forget the name of. To me, they are what I'd be interested in. The fact that they sing in Japanese doesn't really matter because I can get into the music and the harmony side of the vocals, rather than the words themselves. I assume many others feel that way about the other music. Some things just transcend language. I just can't get into most other Japanese stuff I've tried like that personally. I don't feel that they sound dated, but I wouldn't call them on the fringe of music either. They're at a really good place, where they can really show off their talents without getting too ahead of themselves. I find most of their music I've tried very enjoyable. I'm still trying to find something out about Inugami Circus-dan, but I've had no luck. I like random other Japanese stuff. Guitar Vader is a good group from what I have. Of course there's all that stuff they put in games too. Hideki Naganuma is a good example... but he doesn't really do rock music.

Where did you get that information Seph? I've not seen that anywhere. I've yet to hear them refer to that guy Cloud is fighting as anything but an "enemy". http://www.gamespot.com/ps/rpg/finalfantasy7/news_6076646.html Here's an interview. Makes it incredibly obvious to me that this is nothing more than a movie. It only runs at 60 minutes too lol.

I like school personally. The classes aren't a problem. The people who run the school are. I'm so tired of student accounts and financial aid. They never know what they're doing.

As sad as it is, I don't think I even have one. There's lots of things I've accomplished for myself or others... but none of them really stands out above the rest.

I have to fix the title for this thread... it's driving me insane lol. Message boards are about reading... If you're not going to write decently, then no one is going to read it. Halfway through that first post, my mind was already wandering away lol. I took Latin for three years. I don't know how many other people have actually taken it, although I know Mitch has started recently. I don't remember a good deal of it anymore, because really, there's no real use for it. I can't walk around and speak it to anyone and writing it would accomplish very little. It's cool just for the nerdiness factor, I guess. It does help immensely with words on tests and such. I have a much easier time figuring out what many words mean without context because of it. I also can read Roman numerals instantly... which is nice, because I like to know what year random movies and cartoons were made. That's all I have experience in.

Whats up with Final Fantasy X2 is there a better name
Semjaza replied to Dark666's topic in General Discussion
Well, I suggest you read the Otakuboards Information Center at the top of the forum listing. Then you'd realize that 1.) this is in the wrong area, 2.) you cannot double post, 3.) your first post is completely terrible and 4.) this FFX question alone wouldn't be allowed as it generates really no discussion anyway. There isn't a subtitle for FFX-2. It was originally referred to as "Another Lord", but that was apparently dropped. What you see is what you get. -
It's not a game. It's a normal DVD. It should play in anything... even Xbox if you wanted. X Play has it on there simply because it was at TGS and Square is involved. It is, afterall, still connected to FF7, which is probably the most popular RPG worldwide that I can think of. The X Play direct feed version is online now. I'd post a link, but it's for bittorrent. I don't feel like showing people how to use it. If you want to figure that out, I'll send you the torrent file... or maybe the trailer itself. It's only 12 MBs. You can hear the music now... it's some sort of opera piece. Very cool. There are also some character voices, in Japanese of course. Too bad I have no clue what they're saying. The KH2 one is floating around now too... also direct feed.
Originally posted by wrist cutter And never mind the small text at the bottom. That was just to prevent others from stealing it back when I worked on that site.
Heh. Reminds me of that girl on theotaku who was strealing other people's art. "Don't mind that text on the bottom... my sister did that!!" Anyway, it really reminds me of a bathroom. The grid gives off this tile effect and the brown one in the middle also looks like a tile by itself heh. The wallpaper itself is successful, I'd say. I prefer ones like this because I'm just not into the insanely busy wallpapers that seem so popular now.

OOC: I think this is the right thing to type right? I know this takes place like two years from now... but what season is it? Are we just going with Fall? Also, just pretend ferrets are legal in California at this point lol. She won't be any trouble, I'd figure. --------------------------- The flight so far had been uneventful. I had no idea how much time had passed, as I had forgotten my watch yet again, although it seemed like a couple of hours by now. There was no one in my row to ask. The seats nearby were mostly empty, with a few people scattered here or there -- none of which looked worth talking to. Of course, a man and his wife just happened to be sitting just in front of me, leaning backwards until he was practically in my lap. I amused myself by making faces at my reflection on his shiny bald head. I was allowed to bring my pet carrier to my seat with me since the adjacent seats were not taken. Kit had never flown before, so I figured it was for the best. The last thing I needed was her being packed by the luggage somwhere and making a mess of things. Of course, she had slowed down in her old age... but I always thought of her as the little, insane ferret I bought years ago. "I hope one of us enjoys ourselves here" I mumbled to her, just loud enough that no one else would be able to make it out. She just blinked and opened her mouth wide in a yawn. I have no idea what I would do with her if ferrets were still illegal in California. I could have left her with my mom, but I'd probably come home to a worn out skeleton by the time I came back home. A year is an awful long time to leave her. She'll probably take to the local wheather than I will. I leaned back in my seat, not that it amounted to much. The release for the seat didn't even work. I still wasn't even sure why I was coming to California. Sure, some sort of joint business... but there was more to it than that. I guess I just wanted a change. I always figured I'd wind up in Seattle or some other cold city, though. I slipped my headphones off in a vain attempt to hear the pilot on the intercom. Normally, this wouldn't even be an issue, but this plane was particularly noisy. That's what I get for taking the cheapest ticket I could find at the last minute. I managed to miss everything he said anyway since I had my volume up too high to begin with. I just assumed we were almost there. The flight attendent walking around confirmed this once she made the jerk in front of me put his seat in the upright position. Finally some time to be comfortable... as comfortable as you can be in a chair that seemed designed to force spines into perfectly straight lines. I gave my last peanut, overflowing with the oil and salt of his departed brothers, to Kit and looked out the window on my left. I could already make out the towns and cities below us, not that I had any idea what they were called. We were fast approaching the airport and before I knew it the plane had gone into its final decent. I never liked this part of the flight as it always made my stomach sink. The plane landed on the airstrip with a small thud and the all too familiar sound of the air shreiking by as it tried to slow down to a normal speed. Well, we're here, I thought to myself. I sighed and waited for the plane to get to the terminal. This always seemed like the longest part of the flight. Today turned out to be no exception. We were still moving and I could already hear the sounds of people unbuckling their seatbelts and shuffling about. When the plane came to its final destination, most everyone on the plane was already running around trying to get their things out of the overhead compartments. I always just stay in my seat during all of this... I see no reason to stand around for fifteen minutes waiting for every idiot onboard to get ready. When they were done, I picked up Kit and my headphones and strolled off the plane and down the hallway to the terminal entrance. There was no one there to greet me. I half expected otherwise, even though I already knew I was to meet everyone at the house. I'm too used to being picked up at the airport, I suppose. I lugged Kit over to the baggage claim, got my things and went outside to wait for a cab. A few drove past before I was able to flag one down. Figures that I managed to get the one that stunk like hell. I checked to make sure that his license plate didn't say "FRESH". There were no dice on the mirror either. Oh well. We got to our destination pretty quickly. The cab driver helped me get my things out and I paid him, hoping he'd just get out of here before I died from the smell. Luckily, it didn't linger in my clothing or anything else. I walked up to the doorway and rang the doorbell.

I'll just go into it assuming that they would have changed the law by then... lol

Well I now have Reality... I don't know if I'm really into or not. It's so abstract. The cover is actually very fitting in its own way, because I don't know how else to describe the album. It's too many different things at once for me to even choose one opinion heh. I will admit that it is good. It's not as good as Heathen by a long shot, but it is good. It's not something I'd run out to buy if you're just now trying to get into Bowie. Other than Ziggy... Scary Monsters, Hunky Dory, The Man Who Sold the World, Heathen, Outside and Space Oddity are all good things to work with.

Interactive DVDs are basically point and click games. You get a few choices to pick from at certain points that the programmers decided upon. It affects what plays next. There is a very big reason why there aren't many of these in addition to why they're not very popular. I would hope Square would not be stupid enough to do this. Either make a game or make a movie. Don't try to combine them into something that just isn't fun. I've not even heard anyone credible say anything about it being an interactive DVD... in fact, my joking about in my first post is the first time I even saw it ever mentioned lol.

Well I don't think it's terribly hard... but I certainly don't want to do that damn helicopter all over again heh. I've not played the Japanese version, so I couldn't answer your question. From the sounds of it, there's nothing different other than text translation... since I think the voices were all in English anyway, right? I'm surprised by the voice acting. It's not as terrible as I expected. I think it's pretty fitting, although I really couldn't understand half of what Charles the Third (the bat) said. The story is pretty funny so far. "Awaken your heroness!!" lol

I just beat the first area... You're able to save afterwards thank god, but you can also buy stuff using all the Viewtiful icons you manage to get. I finished with around 25,000 or something, I think. You can buy new moves or items or raise your life or health guages. Nice stuff. Edit - Beat the first episode, yay.
