  1. Everything is considered racist lately. If you're a different skin color than I am, I can't dislike you simply because you're a total dickhead. It's obviously because of your race or heritage. Give me a break. There are more caucasian people I can't stand than any other race lol (and being in Chicago, I meet all sorts of people on a regular basis). I don't see the problem. I find that when something like this is brought up, the main argument against it is that whites already have their own clubs. Apparently that somehow consists of whatever clubs/organizations/whatevers that have a majority of white members. I've seen this applied to many things, honestly. It may have been an issue in past decades, but it seems almost like an archaic way of thinking at this point. Most of the time it seems to just be a point for various groups to harp on to suit their agendas. I don't see how either side of it is truly more "fair" than the other, based on all that.
  2. I somehow missed Terra's post. I am crazy. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by terra [/i] [B]EDIT: Why [i]do[/i] people put the "Clear Form" button on pages (though yours is more cleverly named, I suppose)? Just never struck me as too hard to navigate away if I suddenly change my mind. Just a random thought.[/B][/QUOTE] I don't know. The "clear" buttons are always something I click on accident and then lose all that I typed. I HATE it here at OB in the Quick Reply box (where I type 99% of my posts lol). It's more of an intense loathing than a hatred. I left it as is. The form is a script I downloaded. I edited some things in it, like the sizes and text layouts... but never bothered to remove the clear form button. Honestly, I figured I should remove it from the start heh. I probably will tomorrow. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by terra [/i] [B]All right, Tony, you seem to have plenty of time and ideas for wonderful new websites, whereas I have no time nor ideas for my own mediocre new websites. I think you should make me one, since I am so sick of the green on my personal one. :p [/B][/QUOTE] I wouldn't mind. You have my AIM name, if you're serious lol ------------- Baron: Oh well. Misunderstandings. Thanks for being the person I get to bat this back and forth with. I do appreciate it. I still have a few more fanlistings in me, so I guess this will be the place. That and the magazine idea and QA's picture site...
  3. Adult Swim will be reairing Fooly Cooly starting on October 20th. I don't know what the mods of this area want to do with the rest of this thread, but you could have established more to talk about. I hope I don't see you spamming up other forums about this later.
  4. I'm looking forward to a lot of things... without getting into detail, I just expect justice to be done to the book (within reason). Based on the first two, I have little to worry about. Based on the book and the little I know about the third film, I expect Return of the King to be the best of the three.
  5. (1) Recently Updated Artists (2) Recently Updated Anime Categories I think these are most important, mostly because they let you keep up to date on these things... they might be slightly redundant though, considering the page already loads up thumbnails of the most recent stuff anyway. If that stays... then I'd have a harder time choosing between the top three's order. (3) Highest-Rated Artists This closely follows. I'd assume people interested in the ranking functions of the site will want to know this. (4) Most Popular Anime Categories (by # of pics) I think this is just secondary info that isn't really useful as much as it is just a statistic. (5) Most Prolific Artists I personally don't think this is important at all. I don't care who submitted the most art... That's me though. You could easily find this information just by finding their page through the other four lists.

Well I just closed the last thread you had in here. In addition you posted a really basic FLCL thread as well that probably shouldn't have been left open, especially considering it was in the totally wrong section. This thread obviously isn't allowed either. I suggest you go here: [url]http://www.otakuboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=69[/url] and read it. And read it. And read it. And read it again.
  7. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Vash_Fusion [/i] [B]to wrist cutter: are you a dude cuz if so u gotta gimme sumethin? (does not count in guess the next poster)[/B][/QUOTE] What...? Anyway, this thread doesn't float with me (and I can assure you the rest of the staff would be in agreement) for many reasons. I suggest you check out the Information section at the top of the forum listings. In the meantime, enjoy your time here.
  8. I loved all of it... aside from those terrible Rita the Cat singing shorts. I couldn't stand her or her dog friend.
  9. Well I can't find another color scan online to replace that. There was actually far more work put into that than it seems... these were all taken from covers, so I had to remove a lot of excess picture information. I believe that "white stringy thing" you're referring to is just that crease that exists on pretty much anyone's face when they smile or snarl like this guy is... it's between your mouth area and your cheeks, coming out from below the nose. It's not part of the moustache lol.
  10. Their is a difference between simply airing something and actually being able to fund new episodes. That's what I was spealing of. Who carries it where means very little. Hell, even TBS shows Family Guy and Futurama at around noon. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Xyandar [/i] [B]Theres also the parts that are soo stupid it makes u laugh(Peter farts on stage for 2 minutes straight).[/B][/QUOTE] This also totally backs up my last post, in my opinion... even though the Simpsons has these sorts of totally goofy moments, they aren't as much of a focus as with Family Guy.
  11. I don't see how it insults anything. There are jokes in the Simpsons that some people simply won't get because they refer to VERY specific things. As I said, there are some I don't get. It depends on the situation. There are times where I watched it when I was younger and I simply didn't get jokes that I totally get now... and it's not because it's some adult-minded theme like most of Family Guy's jokes, it's because there's simply a lot more background information to a lot of it (which I think has diminished in recent years, but it's still there). Yes, Family Guy has this too... but to a far lesser extent (of course there are also far less seasons, but even comparing the first few years it works). They are totally different shows in their approach to humor. Family Guy goes right for the throat, The Simpsons step around a lot of things. It's more "sophisticated", for lack of a better word, in that sense (again, this has diminished with some of the new people in charge such as Ian Maxtone Graham), something even Seth McFarlane would agree with based on his interviews. If you were insulted by that, you're either very sensitive or totally misinterpreted me... especially considering I included myself in the group that doesn't get some of the "in jokes" on the Simpsons. There was no hidden jab at any of the viewers in there. There just isn't much to know about the Kool-Aid Man bursting into a court room, as funny as it may be. Of course, there isn't much to know about Homer hitting a jukebox like the Fonz and bleeding all over the place (giving further creedance to my comments about the Simpsons becoming a Family Guy Lite... hell, you could even say it's more like Itchy and Scratchy than the normal Simpsons at this point). Generally, the Simpsons just hasn't worked like that. I have a hard time believing that anyone could contest that and I'm sure many would back me up on it. I've watched plenty of both for god knows how long, read interviews, visited sites... I know how they work and what they want to accomplish. I'm not coming from a one sided angle here, nor am I attacking either of them or those who watch them. This isn't some thinly veiled "People who watch Family Guy are stupider!! hahaha" post lol. There is no hidden agenda or insult to anyone because if there was I'd be insulting myself, considering I like both shows quite a bit. The seasons of Family Guy that exist are far better than the last several Simpsons years.
  12. The Simpsons previously was far more witty than the Simpsons. There were jokes in that show that I didn't even catch until recently and there are plenty more I don't even get. A lot rely on your knowledge of the show as well. Family Guy has very little of that, and so it seems to have much more of a payoff for the average viewer... especiall considering how much more aggressive Family Guy is with its jokes. It doesn't hold back anything. Lately the Simpsons seems to have become more of a Family Guy Lite... I barely watch it anymore, unless it's a rerun. Family Guy was pulled mostly because Fox kept switching time slots on it. It had at least three that I know of. This is basically the same thing that killed off Futurama too. The DVDs have sold more than 250,000 units so far, which was far above expecations. Because of this, McFarlane has been given the go ahead to make a movie length Family Guy, which I believe is going straight to DVD/video. Seth is doing another animated show with Fox, called American Dad. It sounds an awful lot like the Family Guy with a few differences (the dad is a CIA agent or something, and I think Brian is basically replaced by an alien -- but I don't remember for sure), so I don't know why Fox doesn't just renew Family Guy in the first place. You might ask why McFarlane would go back to Fox after the whole fiasco with his show, but Fox is all there is right now. No other network is willing to do animation of this type, let alone during primetime viewing hours. Cable networks just don't have enough funding to cover animation this expensive either (a big reason why CN doesn't get just make new Family Guy episodes). Fox is all they've got, sadly. Personally, I think Futurama was better than both the Simpsons and Family Guy seasons it was up against.
  13. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Takuya [/i] [B]Let's see here. The woman uses a sword, there are several other blade-type weapons shown, and two women try to kill each other with kitched knives(stopping when the child of one of them gets off the bus and walks in the door). Yeah, I'd say it'll be violent. Messy? Maybe, but I don't know. Violent? Yes. But that's a good thing. [/B][/QUOTE] I was meaning more along the lines of gory. Obviously it will be violent in those terms, but I guess I take violence to the next level when I think about it. I'm still surprised Uma Thurman is even around anymore.
  14. I never really had a curfew. My parents trusted me. Of course, they started questioning this trust when I'd leave home and not come back for days at a time. So after that, they basically just made me keep in contact with them and let them know where I'll be. I don't think that's too much to ask. It's been like that since I was about 16 or 17.
  15. The DK Rap wasn't totally terrible in SSBM... but I totally dreaded it in DK64. My god, that was one of teh worst things I ever heard.
  16. Scanlines were fun for awhile, but I have moved away from them. They were overused by a lot of the interweb, to the point that I felt they just became tacky. I avoid using them unless something calls for it... which isn't too often heh. Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate them. After all, I have to make the site appealing enough for people to want to check it out lol.
  17. I think you're referring to scanlines... I've not used those in quite some time, so I am confused. No big deal lol.... but maybe you have an image you can post as an example? I shrunk down the Members font and I fixed that one link. It worked on all the other pages, just not on the Members page. Should all be set now. I just need to replace that one black and white image on the join page. I don't think I did bad for about three hours work lol.
  18. I have no control over the art. I didn't draw it lol. It seemed obvious to me that he was behind her and leaning over. I don't think it is an odd pose. I pasted the rules, more or less. Obviously, yes, no one is going to be looking at each and every one... But the main reason is because how different can I possibly make the rules? They're all basic requirements that all fanlistings posts in general lol. I don't know what you mean by "lines across the images". Do you mean borders? The images have white borders around them, they're just not that obvious because of my background. Anyway, thanks for the comments otherwise. I'll tweak some things and see what happens. Edit - I darkened up that white text area box. I think it is a bit easier to read now.
  19. Cleaner images thanks to Gamespot. I didn't want to use the IMG tag because of 56k people. 20. New info for Chain of Memories on GBA from IGNPocket, [url]http://pocket.ign.com/articles/453/453041p1.html:[/url] "Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is a continuation of the PlayStation 2 adventure, picking up where the first game left off and leading up to the true sequel set for release on the PlayStation 2: Kingdom Hearts II. Players will continue to control Sora, the lead adventurer of the Kingdom Hearts lost in a world that crosses the Disney realm with the Square-Enix world, sharing characters within one gigantic universe." [IMG]http://pocketmedia.ign.com/pocket/image/kingdomheartsgba_100303_12.jpg[/IMG] [IMG]http://pocketmedia.ign.com/pocket/image/kingdomheartsgba_100303_11.jpg[/IMG] [IMG]http://pocketmedia.ign.com/pocket/image/kingdomheartsgba_100303_10.jpg[/IMG] [IMG]http://pocketmedia.ign.com/pocket/image/kingdomheartsgba_100303_09.jpg[/IMG] [IMG]http://pocketmedia.ign.com/pocket/image/kingdomheartsgba_100303_06.jpg[/IMG] I don't know. For the most part, it looks an awful lot like a 2D version of the original Kingdom Hearts... doesn't it?
  21. I'm really excited about it. The only person I've talked to about it was Charles, who thought it looked goofy in the trailers... and yeah it does, but no more so than From Dusk Till Dawn, which I thought was fun. The stunts are done by the guy who did the stunts for Iron Monkey, so I'm not worried about that at all. I'm also hearing its incredibly violent, although the trailers don't seem to show anything to indicate that.
  22. Reloaded was average and filled with far more style than substance. The same could be said of the original, but the amount of substance in it made up for that. Other than a few random parts in the movie, I felt like I was watching a film written by a second year psychology student who was obsessed with anime and ballet. I simply didn't like it and it didn't accomplish nearly as much as it should have. I think it would have been far better off as a self contained film, because if Revolutions isn't amazing... Reloaded was basically a waste. Lord of the Rings managed to do this, I don't know why The Matrix didn't. Of course, this is my opinion. I wasn't very impressed. I saw much better films that year. I'm hoping Revolutions is better.
  23. My application for a Ultimates fanlisting was accepted today... so I got to work on it. It's all done, other than one thing. I want to change the image on the join page, but I've not been able to find a decent scan to use there. Shy said he'd help me out a bit later, so I'm hoping. [url]www.slownerveaction.org/fanlistings/ultimates[/url] My Butthole Surfers one was also accepted. They should be on tfl.org's list in a few days.
  24. I didn't really like the first game at all... but I have to admit it does look very cool. The enemy designs are really interested in particular. I love those straight jacket creatures. Disney probably is willing to go rather dark. Some people seem to forget some of the movies they're responsible for, even in terms of animation. The Dark Cauldron is a great example. In Japan, I believe they have some Disney Dungeon area too, which looked quite dark and odd for a Disney attraction. Looks good so far.

    Afi

I think everyone would agree that we've had plenty of threads on this... Here's one that was last posted in a couple of weeks ago: [url]http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30680[/url] Normally people are annoyed by older threads being bumped up, butI doubt anyone would care if it was posted in considering how many AFI threads we've had here since Sing the Sorrow was released. There seems to be a new one every few weeks. I don't know where all these fans were before that, considering Piro couldn't get many responses in his thread that was about Sing the Sorrow before it was released.
