I think almost everyone knows she didn't. I don't know who you talk to, but none of the people I know were all that confused by it. It's made rather obvious throughout the entire film that she is getting new powers that she can't really control. Even my girlfriend, who hates action movies and doesn't care about comics, figured that all out for herself lol.

If she couldn't do the accent, I don't think she should have done it in the first place. I've never understood the love this woman gets, to be honest. David Bowie's wife would make a better Storm. Her name escapes me though. They did introduce a lot of characters in the second one, some more important than others. Considering how young Jubilee was in it though, I wonder how much of her they'd use in a sequel. In any case, I really do think that there is enough to work with that they could totally ignore Storm. To a lesser extent even Wolverine. Yes, they are big characters, but they've already laid the foundation through the first two. They aren't totally required at this point, in my opinion. I've always wondered why Nightcrawler wound up being so priest-like. I thought he was actually a demon of sorts? lol That was the original idea anyway... I don't think he was originally part of Marvel.

I notice most people that find it boring are those that would never like that type of movie in the first place... or someone who hates something just because it has something dorky like comic books attached to it. I thought they were good movies. Especially the second, which I preferred in every possible way. If they don't get some of the people to sign on for the next film, they can always just say they went somewhere. Characters disappear from comics all the time. I wouldn't miss Berry anyway. She's probably one of the worst aspects of the film in my opinion. What the hell happened to her African accent in the second one anyway?

I'm not a big fan of the Sex Pistols. I never really was. I find them amusing, and their music isn't bad... but yeah. Besides, the difference between the Beatles and the Sex Pistols is that the Sex Pistols were manufactured. That's probably what he was referring to. Being pop-ish (as the Beatles were) or being referred to as a boy band (which generally implies the manufactured aspect) don't generally have the same connotations.

When do I get stuff liked that mixed up? lol. That is the rumor. http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~nanko/yu/ "RUMOR: It is said that there are some which were written to be Final Fantasy 7 into the title lineup of ENIX, Square, by Tokyo Game Show held from the 26th on the 28th. Although it does not know whether to be a common name FF 7-2, the software of seven relations may be announced before sale of 12." 12 is also mentioned. No system is named. Could be PS2, PSP, GBA or GCN for all we know... if it's even true. All the interviews about it say it's been a thought, but they weren't working on it. Things change, so who knows. Also it says, as well as I before, that it doesn't specify a FF7-2. It could be a remake or a spinoff or something else entirely. I doubt anything will come of it at all though. I personally wouldn't care about a FF7 anything. I'm very much looking forward to FF12 though, which I think will be the best yet considering who is involved this time around.

If you've seen any Japanese porn, you'd know males there just like this stuff. Anime of that type is obviously geared to the general, single male in Japan, and so it plays itself accordingly. I don't find it that surprising. It's a fantasy. An escape. I don't think it's a severe cultural or overwhelming personal problem over there.

The current rumor now is that Square/Enix will be showing FF7 at the upcoming Toyko Game Show. The rumor originated from Japan, but it's not clear if it's FF7-2, a remake or what.

At my school, we got the ID for free. If you lost it, you had to pay for another one. I lost mine, but didn't feel like paying for it. I still had the holder. So I just drew a new one. I colored it in and drew some blonde kid in the picture box. No one noticed for months. All my friends knew, but none of the teachers seemed to notice. Finally, one day the Dean, who was teaching my English class temporarily since my last teacher went insane, called me to the front. He looked at it and laughed. I never got in trouble for it. I guess since I'm so clever.

It's an excessive desire. An obession almost. It deals with possessions, not people. I'd not define that as love, personally.

I thought you'd be talking about love... love. As in the love for another specific human being. Slaves were commodities. They were objects that people talked about like real estate and cash reserves when they tallied up their net worth. They might have "loved" having them, but, to me, it seems weird to claim that "love" as a reason for the war. On top of that, the Civil War wasn't just about the abolitionists versus the anti-abolitionists. There are always two sides. The obvious cause of wars are disagreements. Obviously one side wants something another doesn't or something another side has. I don't know that I could refer to that as "love" as much as I would "greed".

Writing Ultimates (Pseudo-Official Comics in General Thread!)
Semjaza replied to Semjaza's topic in Creative Works
Yay. I was afraid I'd have to double post or this would die. It was like way into page two. Comic Book Day was actually today this week, rather than Wednesday. I found this out a couple days ago. It's all thanks to Labor Day. I didn't know a Formerly Known as the Justice League was coming out this week. I wound up having only $5 today, so I bought the new Sentinel and New X-Men. I only read Sentinel so far, and while a good issue, it was one my my least favorites so far. I can't really place why, but it might have to do with the emphasis on action that the comic generally doesn't have. It accomplished enough, but ended too soon anyway. I did pick up some more stuff on Tuesday though. I got all three of the issues out for Losers, which I've heard good things about. I also got Inhumans #4 and X-Statix #12, among other things. I finally got myself some comic boards too. I wanted to get Street Fighter #1, but they didn't get any in for some reason. Oh well. I might go in there when I have money and get Science Genius Girl... that looks great. -
You can't sue for having to wear a name tag. Give me a break. Lots of schools do this now. It lets them keep track of things, especially in a world where so many people show up to schools that shouldn't be there. Plus if you do something stupid, you can't lie about who you are, I guess. I had to wear a shirt, tie, dress shoes and slacks. No weird hair cuts, no dyed hair, no wallet chains or jewelry or really anything else. I don't know what most of you can even ***** about by comparison. That's only the start of it. It's school, not clown college.

You could always read the first post. It says right there. Otherwise you need to use Character Map in Accessories under your start menu.

Gaming Who is your favorite character from The Legend Of Dragoon?
Semjaza replied to moon-scar demon's topic in Noosphere
Legend of Dragoon isn't even a Square game. It's both made and published by Sony. -
The Pixies broke up before Everclear even formed itself in 1992, when one of the members placed an ad. The four members of the Pixies had never even gotten back together to just play, let alone throw a concert or reunion show. They recently just started playing again this year for fun on their own time, although the band isn't back together . It's possible you're thinking of Frank Black and the Catholics or even the Breeders, but I don't know how they'd ever be confused... especially if you were at the show in person. I am not sure what bands they have toured with. The last big band they toured with as U2, and that was around the release of Trompe Le Monde. So I don't know what tour you've seen, but Everclear has never played with the Pixies. Unless something bizarre happened that I've never heard of and apparently was never recorded into any site that search engines pick up... It didn't happen. Especially a few months ago... Which leads me to believe, it's Black and the Catholics, if anything. They recently put some new material out, and they do play a lot of Pixies covers.

Don't make me puke. Ramones, hell yes. No to the rest for me. I certainly didn't "forget" them.

I've seen a few random people mentioning Deadsy in punk band threads around the internet... I don't really understand why. I've been listening to Deadsy for about five years now, and I've yet to come across a song I'd remotely categorize as punk. I can't think of one thing they do that even fits in the genre musically Unless there is another Deadsy I don't know about, I don't quite understand lol.

Rammstein site's translations of their songs have it as "You hate me". In fact, that's exactly what they say in the English version of the song too. However, if I plug it into some translator it says "You have me in demand", as you said. I can't argue with you, as I wouldn't know lol. It doesn't make much sense to me though... I guess they just changed the wording in English so people could more easily understand? That, or perhaps it was just written incorrectly in the US version. Oh well.

Well this was useful. There is a sticky about favorites threads at the top of the page. Read it... and read the Information Center forum as well, because you obviously haven't. Double posting isn't allowed.

Anime Demons, witches, and spirits, Oh my...In anime that is!
Semjaza replied to Hinata's topic in Otaku Central
I never understood the problem. These are cartoons, simple as that. They're not around to throw the writers beliefs and ideas at you, hoping that you'll change your lifestyle. They're stuck in to make their stories work and keep them interesting. -
It's not out yet. I believe it should be rather soon. I've not heard anything bad about it. The original RPG Maker was quite good, although flawed. Obviously, having to write lines of text while selecting them on a screen is a pain in the ***. The RPG Maker 2 allows you to use a USB keyboard, thank god. Also, the first was severely limited by PSone memory card size. PS2 card size is massive by comparison, and so I figure it will be enough. I think you can use more than one for one game anyway. Obviously it's not the best looking game ever, but anything that lets you make your own RPGs can't look FF quality I guess. I'm looking forward to it.

I rented the GC version. I didn't get to play it as much as I would have liked though. It looks really great in progressive scan. I want to rent the Xbox version just to play it in 720p and see how amazing it is (GC only goes to 480p, and I think PS2 to neither). I didn't like the default control scheme, but I switched it to B. I wish that was an option in the demo way back, because that's how it should have been in my opinion. A is guard, and the surrounding buttons are attacks. I map Soul Charge to L and R and I'm all set. I had no problems and far preferred this set up to the DC one in SC. Link was better than I expected, but I didn't care anyway... Xianghua and Voldo are my characters, just like in the original.

I never thought not being able to get all the characters in one go was a big deal. It gives the game replay value, first of all. On top of that, to get some of them, you go through totally different story arcs. It's worth the time, in my opinion. I agree about the techs to an extent. Pulling them off was almost random because unless you really paid attention, you never really knew when you'd be able to pull one off. It's like that in Persona as well... It first randomly decides if it should even give you the option, and then you can do it. Rather than likei n CT where you just could pick from a list right then and there. It was always obvious. Otherwise, I agree with Wondershot's points honestly. They, for me, are enough to knock CT below CC. Especially the characterization. CT had almost none. It had its charm, but I think overall CC beats it out in the details it gives for the important characters. The other random guys are just for choice and fun, I don't see the big deal behind their inclusion. I liked the element field aspect. It added a whole new tactical element to battles that I've not really seen before. It was pulled off well in my opinion, and I was able to use it to my advantage once I understood it. I don't see how you can fault the game for having monsters that you could easily beat when you obviously had them leveled up rather high. It would be the same case in almost any RPG. CT was no different. My only problem with CC was the way the game makes you do a certain thing in the last battle to get the best ending. It's hinted to in the game, but I never felt it was made obvious enough. I did it easily, but I don't know how the average person would even know to try it.

I heard about this a couple weeks ago at least. I don't think that will be the case. This isn't Hanna Barbara's Wacky Races. There are many well defined characters in the game series, although some more than others. I think, that if they do it properly, it will work. It's not exactly going to be aimed at small childen (like Nascar Racers was) from the things I've read anyway. F-Zero appeals to a different set of people and there's no reason they can't write in such a way that would reflect that. The story mode in F-Zero GX just scrapes the surface of a lot of those characters. Most anime sucks as it is. I don't expect this to be amazing, but I do expect it to be decent at least. Hopefully it will turn out.

I don't even know what indie is considered anymore. I used to think it was just small bands on independent labels, but it can't be since so many of the ones people name are on bigger labels. Sure they might have started on smaller ones, but most bands do in the first place. It's obviously not a specific sound either, since the Datsuns sound totally different from the Flaming Lips, as anyone interested would know. So eh. I'm not a fan of categorizing anyway, good music is good music. I know and like most of the ones mentioned so far. Modest Mouse is one of my favorite bands. It's sad that most people seemed to forget them after Dramamine. The same with Flaming Lips and that Vaseline song, whose name escapes me for some reason.
