1. I don't even think this should be left open, but I'm not going to make the decision. Why anyone would want to stab themsevles in the stomach, I have no idea. That's one of the slowest and most painful ways to die. You seriously want to sit there for hours and have time to think about what you just did?
2. There are countless bands with Apoca-whatever in their names. Could have been anything, but now that you're in Chicago... it's likely lol. The last stuff isn't hard to find. Many music-centric stores here seem to carry them. I know Piro bought their CDs at BestBuy.com What do I recommend? Well I'd go with Microstars first. It was their last release and quite different from previous. After that... Superincredibleheavydutydudes and Inverse/Reverse/Perverse. Gives you a good mix.
3. Apocalypse Hoboken is the name of a town. People seem to hate the vocals in this band because they're not conventional. I don't know how else to describe them. I can't think of another group offhand that sounsd like this vocally. Of course, I don't know many punk fans in my daily life either. Maybe two. So they probably wouldn't like them to begin with. There is screaming, but it's not one of those highly emotional screamy groups that people seem to like. It's not a focal point. If it was, I doubt I'd bother. I got tired of that years ago heh. I don't know what you mean by "same titles". If you don't want to bother, I don't really care... lol, but I think they are worth checking out. As for this poppy song... I don't know which one you listened to, so it's hard for me to comment. Their last two CDs aren't really as punk-ish as previous ones.
Originally posted by Sara Here's a one for Tony and the other people who will probably take the time to look it up: cainotophobia.
Thanks Sara. Fits perfectly :)
5. The big difference is that most of ours are very seperated. There's a few bigger tours liked Warped or Ozzfest of Lollapalooza (whatever it is)... but generally if I want to see most of these guys, I have to attend like a dozen shows. I'd love to be able to go to that.
6. I am not a big fan of writing. I don't like most stories. Thank god this isn't poetry though, or you'd not hear from me at all heh. I think it's really good. I always liked this sort of style because it's how I write. I just do stream of conciousness. This seems to use that to a degree, although not totally. You obviously get the sense that Grace cares deeply for Eve, despite her sarcastic comments and thoughts. I think that was reflected really well. The difference and seperation between what you say and what you keep to yourself. It was played off very well.
7. I assume just music CDs? According to my listing at Guzzlefish... 168 or something. I really have more around 270, I'd say. A good deal I'm embarassed to even own at this point, though. Still listen to? Who knows. I'd say in the 80s to 120s or so. I generally concentrate on about the 50 or so I have ripped on my computer though. I have about 15 burned CDs total, as well. The rest are just mixes of stuff I own. PS - Sorry, edited this a few times heh.
8. I've not seen you before, so I dunno heh. Look more asian to me, but I cannot tell for sure heh. I like the design, personally. It looks like you did it in Illustrator? About the iframes... the funny thing was that long ago I thought I'd never use them. If you look around at most blogs, they make use of so many of the damn things that it drives you insane. However, for this site... I didn't know what else I could really do. If I wanted to put a decent amount of information in each box, it would never fit. If I made the text an image like a lot of people do, it would be a pain to update. I figured this was the best route. I wanted a single page for once lol.
9. Let's see... System, Datsuns, Placebo, Blur, Beck, Cave In, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Music, Grandaddy, Hot Hot Heat, Raveonettes, Interpol, AFI, Mars Volta, Squarepusher, Alkaline Trio, Boysetsfire, Turbo Negro and Poison the Well. Leeds would rock too. I hate you guys.
10. There has to be more than just us three. I know of a few others here that design sites offhand. wrist cutter - I've seen a few of these before. Specifically fragment of a memory. I also remember the CD collection. I liked how every other cell was clear. Not a huge deal, but it creates a cool effect. It doesn't seem like many people do their tables like that. I think I like LOVE STATION the most. Makes good use of pink shades heh. ---- Unikue is cool too. Very clean. You need some content though heh. I see you're relaunching soon though.
11. Now that I have your attention, I shall regail you with tales about the best punk band known to man. Apocalypse Hoboken was a local Chicago punk band than eventually enjoyed moderate success. They were on a few labels here, such as Johann's Face. They were established in 1987 in their last year of High School and randomly released stuff until their ultimate demise in 2001. They're best decribed as "snotty punk" I guess, or so I've read. I don't really know what to call them. Their original stuff was mostly fast and aggressive with a "who gives a ****?" attitude. Their last couple releases were almost concept albums in a sense. The Apocalypse Hoboken on Microstars is far different than the one on Jerk Lessons or Daterape Nation. I discovered these guys pretty much on accident. I met a girl who introduced me to them. She didn't really speak about them much, but it was one of many bands she told me about. She was one of those total punk girls, where previously I mostly just liked metal. We should have hated eachother, according to the rules. Yeah, those rules. Anyway, I wound up finding more about these guys after time... Eventually I picked up Microstars and completely fell in love with them. I own a bunch of vinyls as well as their box set they sold at their last show (only 200 made). It was mostly demos and unreleased stuff on three discs. Anyway, by then I missed most all their shows. They're gone. I'm never going to get to experience them live. They broke up because of a lot of weird reasons... mostly I guess they were just tired of the life. On top of that the ex-girlfriend of one of the people involved sold ALL their equipment... despite none of it belonging to him. My favorite part of the band is the thing most people hate... the vocals. They're wonderful and just unique. Everything about them rocks though. In the meantime, I try exposing them to as many people as possible. Due to the problems of really finding their stuff online, I'm willing to send MP3s so just ask. Their last stuff was on The Vandal's Kung Fu Records... which really doesn't mesh with the rest of the sound that label goes for, although they're more like The Vandals than most bands they signed. Anyway, please check them out if you can. http://www.apocalypsehoboken.com MP3s are also at www.kungfurecords.com Again, I will send MP3s if asked. 12. God. I wish I lived there. I'd give one of my lungs to be able to attend the Reading Festival. Lots of crap I can't stand... but there's a good mix of great stuff too.
13. If you define world government as a group that passes out care packages, maybe. I have no real love for the UN at this point in time.
14.
I really don't think they do ever make any real reference to it. Freddy basically just goes into Jason's dreams and gets him riled up by pretending to be his insane mother. Then Jason just rises from the ground. I figure they didn't bother with it because there would be no real rational explanation for it. Even if they could, it would make the movie substantially longer. There have been several rejected scripts for this movie. I wonder if any of them made reference to it?
15. Anyone can say damn. I say it all the time on here. I have no idea why anyone would delete his post though. I like these because they blend well. They do seem a bit overly simple, but it's not really a flaw or anything. I can't say I'm a fan of the second one much.

BLEH. Another one of these.
All the kids found out what's missing It's so hard to try to be different And I don't know what it'll add up to be Moses split the sea with the wink of an eye There's a whole lot of people that don't know why I know we're all gonna die So let's believe in something we can't see
This song basically summarizes up my thoughts on it all... although there is more to the song that adds to it (in fact, it doesn't even go exactly like that... there's an extra line in there). The song is called "Congested" by Apocalypse Hoboken. In any case, I was born Catholic. I was raised Catholic. I went to Catholic schools. I was baptised, confirmed and everything else. For years now, I've had my own thoughts on the subject. I went from agnostic to atheist to what I am now. Everyone questions their belief system at some point, it's human nature. However, I don't force my beliefs on anyone, nor do I like speaking about them in general unless asked. I've combined a lot of things over my life that I think are right and good to follow in a sense. A mix of various other religions and philosophies and my own thoughts over my time reading and studying up on all this stuff. I've gotten the impression from past religion threads that people in general really have very little idea what they are talking about in terms of this stuff. I don't know how you can dismiss something without knowing how it really works. You need to know your "enemy", so to speak. There's a difference between a religion or lifestyle's true core and what others have turned it into. A big difference.
19. I'm not so sure you can just insert your own tag. There's already one built into the site in the first place... On my sites... if I want to link the CSS file itself, I do this: Slightly different from you. Of course, that goes in the space. I've never tried it elsewhere, to be honest. I don't know if there are other ways to go about that.
20.
Originally posted by Oji ryu Going back to what I said earlyier how can you be so sure?:smirk:
Trust me... you're not convincing people one way or the other with any of these posts lol. I'm sure there are some somewhere... but I don't care. They're not affecting me in any way. There's a billion people on this planet I know nothing about. I'm not going to pay attention to ones that don't even live in our galaxy.
21. The code is sometimes different depending on the font you use. I'm not sure what font you're using, but you might want to check the Character Map and make sure it's not different from the normal key presses.
22. There's no reason to create two seperate threads for the same story. Just click "Post Reply" and not "New Topic" next time.

It must be some sort of ghost. There's no such thing as real shadows that move lol. I think all I have is Newbiphobia. The fear of strange newbies. Of course, the majority aren't bad.
24. This is the fourth time you've posted this exact same thread. I already deleted two and Justin closed the other one. At first I thought you were just clicking "New Thread" instead of "Post Reply" on accident... but your post has been identical in all four of them. Please pay more attention and read the rules. I have no clue why you'd be doing this.
25. Does anyone else even listen to The Roots or Handsome Boy Modeling School? I've not seen anyone else mention them. I know NERD and Akrobatic have been mentioned in other threads before. I should also say Beastie Boys, no matter what you think of them. Paul's Boutique is still groundbreaking.
