I am not familiar with Tria markers. I personally use Prismacolor, as they are more or less the standard. SHOP AROUND, I can't emphasize that enough. There are stores that sell Prismacolor markers and pencils for about 1/3 the price of other stores. Don't just buy these things spur of the moment. I personally have a set of 48 and then the Cool Gray set, which contains another 12 colors. I also have a few clear blenders. You're probably best off buying marker paper as well (generally, use the back side of the paper because it absorbs better). I don't know what more to say about them really... If you have any more specific questions I'd be happy to try and answer them. I am not sure if any others here really use them, as we only have had one thread that even brought them up, to my knowledge.

God lol. It's based on Goldfinger, I think. This should be close enough. Max Power... it's a name you'd love to touch But you mustn't touch His name sounds good in your ear But when you say it, you shouldn't fear Because his name, can be said by anyone Then Mr. Burns comes in and actually remembers his name for once heh. "Ah! Max Power." What was the secret ingredient used to make a Flaming Homer or Flaming Moe?

My real dream is to own a music store. Not a tiny, crappy one that offers only one type of music... but a decent sized one with all sorts of things, that still manages to feel like a small, local store. Would be cool if I could fit games, movies and such in there too. At this time though, I'm just concerned over the music aspect. Hopefully it'll work out.

Do you mean the name they had the family use instead? They became the Thompsons, instead of the Simpsons. If that's what you mean... What was the name of the TV show Homer watches that has a character with the same name as him? He winds up changing his name because of it.

Isn't this an example of pretty much millions of relationships in the world that don't work out? Welcome to dating. It gets worse heh. -
Yeah, really. I've only personally banned heavy spammers that were here to ruin it for people on purpose. There are some bannings I'm not even sure about at times, I admit heh. You have to remember that you might not even see half the problem, considering posts might be removed or whatever else. In the case of people that have been here awhile and then are banned, it's like TN said. It's not generally just one thing that suddenly happens that you can pinpoint exactly and fit it within a two word maximum. It's generally the case of a last straw. All the crap they did over time that finally added up to the point that it just wasn't worth dealing with anymore. Not everyone fits into that, but I think that's the general idea. I don't feel that there needs to be an explanation as to why someone was banned. All it would do is feed the already ridiculous levels of gossip around this place.

Writing Ultimates (Pseudo-Official Comics in General Thread!)
Semjaza replied to Semjaza's topic in Creative Works
At this point, this should just become The Official Comics Thread, and we could be done with it heh. Ultimates #11 came out today. I didn't have a chance to grab it, but a guy in my class had a copy. Surprisingly he works at the comic store I go to heh. The other day I picked up Sentinel #4, Runaways #4 and the latest X-Statix. When I first read Sentinel and Runaways, I wasn't that impressed for some reason. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood at the time... I kept thinking back to them though, so I figured I'd try it again. Now I regret not buying the other issues I had in my hands weeks before lol. They're both great. X-Statix is awesome. I'm planning on picking up all the issues before it when I get a chance. The local comics store sells all of them at their listed value still. -
I thought MI was 3rd person? Some other games I was thinking of and meaning to post in here... Kirby's Dream Course. It was originally called Tee-Off or some crap, but they stuck Kirby in and renamed it. They made great use of the license, I think. You use his powers to help get him into holes of minature golf. Star Tropics is another one. The series just completely dropped off after the sequel. They were both really excellent games, and I'd love to see a GBA version.

There isn't exactly enough information here for me to give a good opinion on any of your ideas...

I'm not even understanding what a Mary Sue is... Can someone explain?

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Semjaza replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
The most amusing thing to me is that no one seems to realize that CN wants to air most of this stuff nearly completely unedited (I say that because I doubt they'd keep the sex, but who really knows). Unfortunately, they are listed as a kids channel, not as an all-ages channel, and so the standards and practices that rule over TV networks simply won't allow it at this point. If they manage to change their standing as a network, they would be able to air such things. However, I don't see it happening... unless they make yet another network. My point is just that it's not as if they want to have to chop all this anime up, but they have very little choice in the matter due to that and other reasons. In any case, at least they are bothering. Before CN and Adult Swim, there wasn't even an alternative really. -
I'd look into it more if 90% of their movies weren't based on existing stories lol. Seems like every old fairy tale has to have some nearly useless father figure, a dead mother and some evil lady. I guess it's a prerequisite.

In any case, people seem to forget the sorts of things Disney is tied to. They don't use the "Disney" name on it, but they own and deal with many companies that make far worse stuff than Pirates of the Caribbean. Hollywood Records is a great example, which has quite a bit of extremely violent and morbid metal bands on it. Buena Vista and all those as well. Disney itself can be dark when needed. Black Cauldron is a good example, and that was decades ago. It's more of a stereotype attached to them making family orientated films, although quite a few have a good level of violence or a dark side.

Half Life doesn't exactly look hot on PS2, especially at first. That's my only real gripe with it. The textures seem even worse than I remember, but they pick up after a bit. It runs decently, although I find the controls to be too loose. It's only $10 at Best Buy this week, so check it out. That's why I bought it. Has some new co-op mode as well.

That's the sort of stuff, I'm looking for yeah. And I know, I took the avatar from Buggy Loop at GAF, who I'm sure took it from someone else lol.

Square games go in the Square forum, not Sony. Just a heads up. There's already a thread going, and has been for some time. http://www.otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14676 So check that out instead.

I know that not all punk is, I listen to a decent amount of it myself. Punk was more or less founded on those basic ideas, compared to the genres at the time.I think you know what I was trying to say though, so I guess that's all the matters. Really, I don't think there is another group of music fans that are so concerned over such things. The only thing that seems to compare are so called "goths"... the ones I'm referring to that think Marilyn Manson is the epitome of it for some bizarre reason heh (obviously they don't even listen to the stuff that counts). And I'm not saying that even a majority of punk fans are like this (there aren't any here at OB in my opinion, especially compared to other forums I've seen such as GAF), but there are enough that it's a nuisance. So that's my thought on that.

Severely doubt it. They also have a Famicom styled one for the 20th anniversary, a black and red one for the Boktai launch and so on. There are probably a dozen GBA colors in Japan at this point, maybe more. I lost count. We only saw red, fuchia, arctic, indigo and glacier. I think perhaps midnight blue at Toys R Us. So I can't see Nintendo bringing most of those over.

Yeah. Strangely, I thought Bloom was possibly the worst aspect of this film. His character is simply a vessel to give the film reason to stick in a love story, really. The sad part is that neither of the two involved really did enough to even convey it well. Every once and a while they'd look at eachother longinly. I guess that qualifies as love in these things. The movie itself was rather eh. The plot was paper-thin, the characters uninvolving. There were some good action scenes at least. Like I said before, Depp saved this film. And yes, I admit I have a totally non-sexual crush on Depp. The guy is freaking amazing, and my favorite actor... But I don't know how anyone could deny that, without him, this film would have been a pile of crap with no real value in any sense. He one of a few interesting characters in the film and made it worth my money, just barely.

No, you're not right. I never understood why so many people here just throw out random guesses lol.

I know this thread has been done before. I finally got to see this the other night when I picked up the DVD (it's only $10, you can't pass it up). I was glued to it the entire time. When it ended, I wanted to replay the entire thing right there... and not because I didn't "get it", but because I was so damn awestruck by it. I think it's possibly the best film I've ever seen (knocking Pee-wee's Big Adventure down a notch, still folowed by Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands). I'm not interested in whether or not you think this movie is "KEWL!!!11" or if you hated it. Let me rephrase that, I don't give a **** whatsoever. At least not in a basic sense. I see enough of that crap in all the other movie threads here. I want to know what you think this movie is about. Why what happens happens. The significance of the events and the characters and even the music, or whatever else you think is important. If you need to play on how great you thought something was, or how much something sucked... so be it. I just want some good thoughts on this. To really have a full idea of this movie, you HAVE to see all the DVD extras and read what there is of Mrs. Sparrow's book on there as well. It would really help. I have plenty of my own ideas, but I'll post them later. I've heard a few already, but I'll say right out that I think what happens to Donnie in this movie actually happens... however, not on the same plane of existance. Temporal universes, if you understand all that. I don't feel like writing a couple pages of material until I know people would actually discuss it. So yeah, make me proud! :p

Calories and carbs aren't the same thing. I half suspected to see a post in here by TN about masturbation. I mostly just walk. I'm downtown so long each day that I wind up walking several miles. Good enough for me.

Heh. I should check this more often. Study more boys and girls! :p Well, the most obvious thing is that he made a deal with Disney to make licensed playing cards. They were quite successful from what I remember. That was already mentioned. Otherwise, I specifically remember him making a taxi company and a love hotel company (as in those pay by the hour types for you know what heh). There was also some rice thing around that time, which didn't do so well. So there's three. What company did Nintendo approach about marketing their Famicom (NES) to the US? The company declined the offer.

It's the abscense of visible wavelengths in the light spectrum, but considering all colors deal with various wavelengths and intensities, you still wind up learning about it in color theory. So there! Also, I only know Catholic priests, but they are all stuck in some house right outside the church. They don't seem to get to do anything like that, but I guess it differs between the various types.
